~Kyouko's POV~
I groaned, rubbing my eyes tiredly. I looked over to the side to see the clock that it was 5:45 am. It's pretty early. I usually wake up at 6:30 am, the same time that high schoolers wake up. I tried to sit up but I couldn't. I felt something on top of me that was preventing me from sitting up. I looked down at what was keeping me from sitting up and I saw Mai laying on top of me, still asleep. I looked over to her bed to see that her bed was a mess. She must have been tossing and turning the whole time and she must have had fell on me since I slept so close. I'm surprised that I didn't wake up when she fell on top of me. Her arms were wrapped around my neck while her head was resting on my chest. She actually looked really cute when she's sleeping. I couldn't help but smile and softly stroke her hair. She mumbled in her sleep, nuzzling closer to my chest. I'm surprised that she's actually comfortable, I mean I have a flat chest.
Mai started mumbling and moving around. She yawned and rubbed her eyes then looked at me. We stared at each other before her face turned bright red and turned her face away. I raised my eyebrow in confusion but I brushed it off. Mai looked around and saw that she was on top of me. She instantly got off of me and hung her head low. "So-sorry! I didn't know I fell. I hope I didn't hurt you. I-" Before she could finish, I let out a chuckle while ruffling my hair. She blushed even more and fiddled with her fingers, "A-are you sure?" I nodded my head and stood up. "I'm gonna use the bathroom," I told her. She nodded and got up as well. "I'll prepare breakfast for us. Then you can come to school with me." She said. I looked at her nervously as she said that. I can't go to her school. Haruhiko will be there, I can't face my brother after what happened yesterday. "Kyouko, it'll be fine. Haruhiko isn't going to do anything bad to you. He's not that type of person." Mai reassured me.
She's right. My brother wouldn't hurt a living being unless they hurt something or someone he loves first. I nodded and pulled her into a hug. "Thanks, Mai," I said smiling then pulling away to look at her. Her cheeks were slightly pink and she started stuttering a bit. "I'm gonna head to the bathroom now," I said, heading to the bathroom.
I came out of the bathroom a few minutes later, my hair now in a tight ponytail. I was wearing one of Mai's hoodies. The hoodie was a little big but I didn't mind. Mai looked at me and giggled when she saw that the sleeves of her hoodie were so long that I couldn't even show my hands. "How can you wear something this big?" I asked, looking at each sleeve. "Well unlike you I have something on my chest that helps me," Mai said. I glared at her playfully before sitting down at the table. "Oh and here," Mai said, handing me a beanie. "For your wolf ears," She said pointing to my wolf ears. I nodded and placed the beanie on my head and I hid my wolf tail by hiding it in the oversized hoodie.
Once we finished breakfast, we went to the bus stop to wait for the bus to take us to school. We got to school and I couldn't help but stare at the huge school in front of me. The school was huge. "So, how do you think of the school?" Mai asked me. I was wordless, I never saw a school this big. "Mai-senpai! Kyouko-senpai!" I heard Reina said behind me. I turned around and Reina engulfed me into a hug. "Hey, Reina. There's no need to add senpai you know. It's kinda embarrassing for me." I said, scratching my cheek embarrassed. Reina and Mai couldn't help but giggle.
"Hello Kyouko," A calm voice said. I looked behind Reina to see Koito eating a chocolate bar. "You eat sweet things to keep your throat from cracking correct?" I asked her. She nodded and broke a piece and handed it to me. "We almost use the same power. This might help you." She said. I nodded and ate the chocolate. "Is Haruhiko here yet?" Reina said. Mai shook her head. "Oh come with us. I wanna show you our school!" Reina said to me, grabbing my hand and dragging me toward the entrance of the school. I didn't try to fight back, I was kinda curious about their school as well.
I could feel the looks I was getting. Well, it's because I'm not even wearing the school uniform so I could see why. Reina dragged me into a classroom where the students seemed to be a bit younger than me. The girls kept on looking at me, glancing me up and down. "This is me and Koito's homeroom," Reina said. Koito and Mai walked up behind us calmly.
I looked around the classroom to all the students were looking at me. Especially the girls, they kept looking at me with somewhat lustful eyes. I gulped nervously as they watched me carefully. I saw one of the girls in the classroom wink at me, sending a chill down my spine. The girls must have had noticed because Reina tightened her grip on my hand, Mai looped her arms around my neck from behind, and Koito looped her left arm with my right arm.
I felt heat rush to my cheeks when I realize that three beautiful girls were holding me. No, Kyouko doesn't you dare think wrong! I snapped out of my thoughts when the girls pulled me out of the class. I visited Mai's classroom and Haruhiko's classroom. They had different classes since Mai was a third-year and Haruhiko is a second-year.
We kept walking the halls until we met up with a teacher who seemed to be named Arisu-sensei. She seemed really nice. "Hello, what may your name be?" She asked politely. "My name is Kyouko Ichijo," I replied. "Haruhiko had a sister?" She said quite shocked. "Well by blood. Not by bond." I said emotionlessly. She nodded understanding. "Are you a student here?" She asked. I shook my head in reply.
"Would you like to join the school?" Arisu-sensei asked. I looked at her with wide eyes, "Are you sure?" she nodded and replied, "Your four wait here. I'll tell the principal."
I looked around the hall, my back leaned against the wall with my hands shoved in my pockets. We waited until Arisu-sensei came back. "The principal would like to see you," Arisu-sensei said. I nodded and got off the wall. I followed her down the halls to the principal's office. When we got there, she knocked on the office door. "Come in," A voice said, coming from the other side of the door.
We walked in to see a man standing in front of his desk and when he saw us, he flashed us a gentle smile. "Hello there. Your name must be Kyouko Ichijo. It's a pleasure to have you here." The principal said as he shook my hand. "You know who I am?" I asked. "Of course. Arisu-sensei here told me your name and I know your secret." He said smiling. I froze there in unclear, what did he mean by secret. "Arisu-sensei and I know who you really are. You're the famous phantom hunter with powers. You're considered one of the most dangerous people in Japan." He explained with a stern face. I stared at him with disbelief. How does he know all of this?!
"Kyouko, your secrets are safe with us. We know everything about you and we don't attend to tell anyone else." The principal said. I sighed with defeat and nodded. "Thank you for trusting us. Now let's get down to business. You with to join my school?" He asked, narrowing his eyes. I nodded and looked him in the eyes, "Yes, I wish to join your school. I think if I do, I will be able to learn the things I never knew." I said. He let out a chuckle and said, "But I don't think you have anything else to learn about. I think we would be learning from you anytime soon."
I didn't know what he meant but I guess it meant something good. "Yes, you're allowed to join my school but you must have to wear a uniform. Not just any uniform, yours is different." He said, hanging me a neatly folded uniform. I shrugged and headed to the girl's bathroom to change. Once I finished changing, I looked at myself to see that I was in a boys uniform. Why a boy's?! I don't mind but why? But mine wasn't like the other guys' uniforms in the school. Mine was light gray instead of white.
I sighed and fixed my tie then got out of the bathroom. When the principal saw me, he gave me a satisfied nod. "I know it's rude to ask but why am I wearing a boy's uniform and why is it different from everyone else's?" I asked, crossing my arms. "Well, yours is different because you're the special student here and you have a boys uniform because it fits you more than a girl's." He replied. He then processes to take out a piece of paper and hand it to me. "Look for this classroom. You will be joining this class." He said. "Thanks," I replied and took the piece of paper then headed out to find the classroom.
I found the classroom in 2 minutes. I knocked on the door and heard a voice that told me to come in. I opened the door and walked it. "Oh hello there. You must be the new student." A middle-aged man said. He must be the teacher. I simply nodded my head. I could feel the eyes staring at me, it's probably because of my different color uniform or I'm wearing a boy's. I still had my beanie on so they couldn't have seen my wolf ears and my tail was still hidden. "Please write your name on the blackboard for us." He asked politely. I nodded and wrote my name on the blackboard. I didn't add my last name in case if anyone in the class knew my brother, they would probably tell him I was here.
The teacher nodded at me and told me to take any empty seats. I looked around the class to see several empty seats. Most of the girls were looking at me with hearts in their eyes. I decided to sit near the window. There was an empty seat in front of me, I wonder if anyone sat there? I sighed and looked at the blackboard. As the teacher began his lecture, my eyelids began to grow heavier. I yawned and laid my head on my desk. So this is school huh? And before I knew it, I dosed off.
