Finally today was the day my mother would return from her trip.
After one month I was finally having my mother back where she should belong. Even so I ended up with my brother and father, it wasn't that all bad like I imagined. Merlyn told me it would be like hell living with those two, well hell never happened thank God. I at least managed to survive. One thing that I actually learned while my mother was away, she is very needed. I never thought that being a mother could be so much responsibility. A mother loves her children, cook awesome food, keep everything organize and under control, keeps the place tidy, and keeps the family together. Though not all mothers can earn that title. Lucky for me I have a mother that cares for everything.
And boy do I still need her for a whole lot of years.
My life was slowly taking shape once again too. Even so I lost Emilio, Other things were surprising me by the second. Just when I was entering the school in the morning, the first thing I see is Joe waiting by for me. He was standing by a wall as I slowly walked up to him. His eyes looked up and I thought I was going to freeze like I usually do.
"Keep calm." I muttered under my breath. "No more mistakes."
"Hi." He walked up to me.
He hasn't changed a bit.
"Err...hi." I smiled.
Behind me my brother walked right past me and just gave me a look. A look that I swear he was going to use it against me. I gave him a small smirk and gave my back to him. There was no way I was going to hide my life from my brother.
"So how are you?" Joe asked.
"Pretty good." I walked slowly heading to the cafeteria.
"That's good."
We walked over to my table and he sat right beside me.
Something that he hasn't done for quite a while.
"Funny how long it took for us to speak." He chuckled. "All this time I tried avoiding you and yet I couldn't. I keep seeing you everywhere and bumping into you in the hallways."
"Tell me about it." I laughed.
"I'm really sorry Danielle to what I said in the past." He began.
"Chill man the past is the past." I punched his shoulder. "At least we both apologized."
I couldn't believe I felt so confident in front of him after all the problems we had. It was as if nothing happened.
He smiled, I smiled.
I forgot everything and was just simply living my present.
"So where is this guy that used to sit by you?" Joe asked.
I felt my inners go cold.
I just started to laugh softly and smirked, looking away.
"Were you dating him?" He asked after I didn't answer the other question.
"Did." I locked my eyes with his and just shrugged.
"I used to see you two together and thought....well never mind. A few days ago I wanted to talk to you but I thought it was going to be awkward since you know..."
"Yeah it would have been." I cutted him off, not wanting to talk about Emilio and my past.
"Oh err....hi." Merlyn came out of nowhere and awkwardly sat in our table.
"Hi." Joe greeted her.
"So err...Ya'll two talking again?" She had this confused look in her face.
"Yup." I shrugged.
"Well that's good to see." Merlyn clapped her hands together and gave me a funny look.
The bell rang and Joe took me to my class upstairs.
Something that I missed.
"Well I'll see you later then." He smiled.
"Later then." I gave him a peace sign with my fingers.
After class Merlyn just had to know everything.
"So tell me how all of this happened?" She asked as we walked down the stairs.
"I don't know really. It all happened so quick. One moment I was with Alisha and next I had him in front of me. Talking to me." I emphasized. "He asked for forgiveness and well I apologized too."
"Did you miss him?" Merlyn looked up at me.
As a matter of fact I did.
I never did forget about him.
Either I was telling my past to my friends or simply writing my story about Joe. Bonus points: I also had the small gifts he once gave to me. The ring, a cross buckle, a drawing of a flower, an earbud, a small stuffed dog, and a string necklace. Simply he wasn't gone like I meant him to do.
"I did." I smiled at the thought. "No wonder I felt so empty."
"I see you left all of that goth emo idea thing behind you." Merlyn laughed.
"Oh that." I rolled my eyes. "That was just a phase."
"I see." She narrowed her eyes. "Just a phase."
"Gurl you know me."
"I know I do. You did that same phase last year. Remember?"
"I had emotional problems yesh give me a rest." I laughed and walked away to my class.

May 3, 2016~
A little bag with a cookie landed in front of me.
"What the heck?" Kaitlynn eyed at the cookie.
"Huh?" I looked back to see Joe walk back to his lunch table.
"Aww it's a peace treaty." Rose smiled.
I looked back and couldn't help but smile.
Across in the distance I spotted Emilio eating with another guy in a lonely table. He didn't have my lunch yet he was still there. I quickly looked away and pretended I didn't see him. Next thing I knew it, he was walking away with his tray and he left.
He looked so different now. So sad and dull. He wasn't the same Emilio I fell for. Now he was distant and for me just a memory.

"Danielle can I talk for you for a minute before you go?"
"Sure." I smiled.
"I wanted to tell you something very important."
"Err...what is it?" I rose an eyebrow.
"First I wanted to admit something. When you were with that guy....I was jealous. I know I shouldn't but whenever I saw you with that guy I would feel bad. I couldn't fit the idea that you were with someone else."
I looked into his eyes and felt guilt wash over me. All this time and still I was causing trouble to him.
"The real thing I wanted to tell you is..." He smiled and scratched the back of his head. "If you want to be with me again."
"What?" I asked to make sure what I heard was right.
"You know....how we used to date?"
His words were the most
spontaneous things I've ever heard.
"That is if you want to."
"I....I...if you want." I stammered. "That is if you can handle me. I just don't want it to happen like last time."
"I want to." He smiled.
Emilio came to my head. I guess Joe caught my expression.
"If you want you can think about it."
"I'll like that."
I couldn't believe everything what was happening.
"I thought I would ask you first right now before you left and before I decided to walk back from my decision. Just wanted you to know that I had this all planned out."
"Oh wow now it makes sense why you got in between Alisha and me." I laughed.
"Yep. Everything has its purpose."
"It took a while." I smirked.
"Hey that's nothing. I was thinking to speak to you on the last day of the school."
"That late? This is your last year in school?"
"Well yeah but I at least did it already." He smiled.
"See you tomorrow then." I waver as I headed to my parent's car.
"See you tomorrow." He smiled and waved back.
In just one week my bad luck was finally changing.
I lost Emilio but I found Joe once again.
Got my mom back and with each passing second I was closer with my revenge.
Don't think I forgot my whole idea of my revenge. Now that my mother was back, soon I was going to unmask that devil Ana to the world.
There was no way for Danielle to run back now....
She was ready.
I'm ready for my revenge.
