"Lou.. can you see me?" Tom asked worriedly, kneeling beside his butler— no, his father.
His eyes began to flutter open an closed, and his mouth twitched. "Nngh... M-master..? You're—"
"No.. don't call me that... D-don't ever call me that, every again.." Tom frowned.
Lou's eyes finally stayed open, and a weak smile formed on his face. "..Tom.. You are... You are okay..."
"Y-yeah.." He smiled back before something pink and furry jumped onto him. He let out a laugh, bringing the bunny in his hands. "And Marshmallow!! Who's a good boy? Even if you almost killed yourself— but still! You protected Star!" Tom half expected an answer back, but then realized the bunny wasn't a little boy anymore. It was fine, he kind of liked him better without a voice anyway.
The bunny squeaked, jumping out of Tom's hands and onto his head of pink hair. The demon laughed again, "Alright, let's help Lou up and then find Marco and Star."
"Lou, do you think you can get up?" He turned to his father once more, and he nodded, already beginning to sit up.
Lou gave a tired groan once Tom finally lifted him to his feet, his arm around Tom for support.
"It's fine, take it easy." Tom reassured him, "One step at a time while you heal."
Meanwhile, Marco sighed, pulling his bangs back only to let them fall again.
"Star.."
"Hm?" The blonde turned, a smile on her face but Marco knew better.
"What's wrong..?" He asked, and her smile faltered, and she averted her gaze.
"..you know me too well.." She mumbled, before looking up at him again.
Four years ago her brunette friend had the same line of sight as her. She would get into all types of situations and Marco was always there to support or help her.
Now here he was. Now he looked down to her whenever they talked. After everything he'a been through, he was still the same happy, supportive Marco.
It was not only that but Tom changed inside. All thanks to Marco.
She opened her mouth to answer Marco. "I— I... I'm just wondering where Tim is.." The princess lied.
What would happen now? Of course Echo Creek was in need of repairmen and she knew Marco and Tom would be glad to help her, but what would happen after?
Tom's father, the king of the Underworld was dead. The throne was ready for the demon prince a few years early.
Was Tom willing to take his place? Was he ready to take his father's place?
Not only that, Star would still be in training to be the Queen of Mewni. What would happen of Marco?
He'd have to continue college, get a well-paid job, continue his life...
Were the three of them about to break apart that easily? Was Star willing to let go of it that easily?
No..
Star mentally shook her head.
Whatever happens, we'll never fall apart.
No matter what...I won't let us fall apart.
"..Tim.." Marco mumbled, then snapped his finger. "Right—! Tim!" And with that he ran off.
Star watched him stop to Tom before helping him hold Lou up, then turned.
It was her turn to help.
She examined the damage done to Echo Creek. She had almost forgotten this was the town square, she could barely recognize it.
From what she could see, fixing it back up would take a lot of her magic and energy. After this she would barely be able to help with anything else.
At least she was going to fix the place with most damage done to it.
She took a deep breath, her wand held tightly in her hand. When she closed her eyes all she was able to hear were the multiple conversations of the citizens of Echo Creek, along with a few officers that weren't much of a problem because they knew Marco and Star well.
She blocked out the voices and sirens, took another breath before raising her wand in the air.
"Please give me all of the strength to fix my home sweet home.." The princess mumbled under her breath, and the ground began to shake.
It wasn't an earthquake.
Marco, Tom, and Lou watched as the Mewni princess work her magic to repair the town square.
As the floor rumbled and shook, multiple pieces of debris floated to the air. And like magic, they began to fix into their original place.
The whole square began to fix itself back to normal with everyone watching.
Now that the town square was completely fixed and back to normal, Star opened her eyes and forced herself to keep her composure.
She was surprised she was even conscious. Usually things like these would tire her out into unconsciousness, but now she felt stronger.
Step one of repairing Echo Creek was done, now it was time for step two; helping the victims.
Star went to aid the officers on their search for victims outside of the square, leaving Tom and Marco to help the current ones in the square that had been unconscious throughout the entire battle.
Lou had disguised himself back into his human form before Tom forced him to be taken care of by the ambulance, and now he went to Marco who was currently talking with one girl.
She had curly light brown hair that became an ombre of blue. Her eyes were quite peculiar; one being blue and the other being green.
Her clothes— which consisted of a hoodie, jeans, and converse— were slightly dirty like most of the other citizens around.
He also noticed her jeans were rolled up on one leg, revealing a bruise on her ankle. She had a sweet smile as she sat on a curb and talked with Marco.
Marco turned his head, noticing Tom's approach and smiled.
"Hey, Tom."
"Hey.." The demon matched the brunette's smile, his gaze subconsciously softening before he turned to the girl. "Are you alright? Looks like you twisted your ankle or something,"
"I'm fine," The girl looked down at her leg and shrugged, "It'll heal in a few seconds so it's fine,"
Tom raised an eyebrow, and Marco opened his mouth, "Tom, this is Cattleya—"
"Cat for short!" The girl exclaimed cheerfully.
"— and shes ... also a demon, just like you." Tom was about to speak but Marco cut him off, "But, she's from a different dimension." He added, and the demon prince nodded in understanding.
"No wonder.. I was about to say that I've never seen you around the Underworld," Tom commented.
Cat grinned, "Yeah! I came here to see a new environment. It's more interesting than the dimension I came from.." She explained, "I was shopping for souvenirs in the square and BAM!" Cat made an explosion hand movement, "There was a huge explosion and before I knew it the square was being attacked and I was knocked out! I must've sprained my ankle when I was unconscious or something," She mumble, checking her ankle at the thought of it.
Surprisingly enough, the bruise had disappeared and Cat rolled the jean back down before she stood up. She paced back and forth for a few seconds to test her leg, and then grinned. "Yay! All healed!" She chirped before reaching into her hoodie pocket and taking out a pair of scissors— dimensional scissors to be exact.
"Well, I'd really love to chat more, but I have to head back." She stepped to the side and opened a portal before turning her head for the last time, "Maybe I'll visit again! See you next time, lovebirds~!" She giggled before stepping through the portal.
"L-lovebirds..?" Tom stuttered, and almost jumped when Cat's head poked out once more.
"Yeah! The way you guys look at each other— You guys make it soooooooo obvious~!" She gave a toothy grin for one last time, "Just date already!! Bye-byeee!!" And with that she disappeared back into the portal and it closed.
"What a weird girl..." The demon prince mumbled, before glancing over to Marco. It seemed that he was deep in thought. Tom smiled.
Marco snapped back into reality once feeling a warm kiss against his cheek followed by a heavy weight against him.
It was Tom who had wrapped his arms around him, giving a warm back hug.
"T-tom...? What.."
"..What do you say, Marco..?" Tom mumbled. His warm breath tickled the human's skin as he buried his face against Marco's neck.
"..What it it?" The brunette asked.
Tom stayed silent for a moment.
"... Will you be my boyfriend..?"
Marco's face grew warm at the question. Despite knowing Tom for so long he would never be able to control his blushing problem.
"..Please..?" Tom slightly whined, similar to a child. Marco loved it.
He chuckled softly, "I mean— we have kissed like three times already— and..." Marco turned around to face Tom who'd gotten off of him. "..And— I kind of really, really like you. Like— a lot. Maybe too much—" He was cut off by a warm impact against his lips, and Marco kissed back.
When they parted for breath, Tom let out a chuckle, holding the other close. "Same here.."
Marco grinned and moved to kiss Tom again, but a loud scream made them both jump.
"AAHHHHHH!! YESS!! FINALLLLLYY!!!"
The two turned their heads around to see Janna clapping aggressively with Jackie smiling next to her a few feet away from them.
Tom gave them a toothy grin and a thumbs up, "Thank you! Thank you!"
That reminded Marco of something, and pulled Tom's attention back to him. "Hey, Tom?"
"Hm?" The demon turned to his new boyfriend with a smile.
"I almost forgot—" Marco smiled, "There's this guy name Tim I became close friends with before this all went down, and he might have like me. So you need to watch out for him, he's pretty tough."
Tom's smile became a frown in a blink of an eye.
