Two Years Later
EMMA
"Don't stop, don't stop" I plead. Todd pushes me closer to the edge as I clutch his face pressing my forehead to his, sweat glistening over his slightly tanned skin.
"Emma! Emma we're back!" I hear outside my door pulling me out of my moment of near bliss. Lina's excited shrieks made me realize just how late in the day it was and the banging on my door made my fears certain.
"Emma..." she giggles my door handle trying to open my door "why is your door locked?"
How did she not know why? It will be our sixth year living together and she doesn't know what a locked door, especially my locked door, means? I nearly wanted to just yell that I was screwing someone in here but I'm not a monster, Todd was too nice and contrary to what I believe sometimes, I do have a heart.
"Oh Jesus Emma get her out of here" Todd moaned, still pushing into me but with Lina just a few feet away I had no desire left.
He needs to get out, I haven't seen her in months and no matter how close we are having her burst in on me and my latest flavor of the month, or in this case flavor of this summer, was not the desired 'welcome back' moment I wanted for the two of us.
"Oh just finish already" I sigh, looking into his eyes for the first time.
Men are so clueless sometimes. He simply looked down at me confused. I mean for heaven's sake I kept my shirt on but he needs some encouragement and he had been good to me all summer so I stroke his face "it's ok, just let go" closing my eyes and giving him a smile that brings all men to their knees in the throws of passion.
"Emma!! I don't know what you're doing in their but don't think I won't break down this door" Lina getting annoyed and banging on my door again, with some force this time, Jesus she could be strong when she wanted to.
"We both know you can't do that Lina... and welcome back" lifting myself up to my elbows, clenching around Todd to try and push him on.
Lucky for the both of us it does the trick as he finds his release a soft groan escaping his lips hopefully not loud enough for Lina to hear before I press my hand to his mouth squinting at him giggling and shhhing him.
"Emma?!?! I'll get Henry up here so fast!"
Really? Threatening to bring her boyfriend up here to bust my door down? I scramble out my bed pulling my pants on and throwing Todd his
"Just give me a second... I'm coming." I pull my duvet up and straighten my pillows to try and hide my very recent activities.
Todd looks at me in amazement and a little shock at how changed the room looks in just a few seconds. Todd was a good guy and he knew what this was, we had an understanding. He was the right kind of guy for the summer. We had worked together teaching at the Oxford University summer programs for students and got along great, we were more than acquaintances but I wouldn't push it to friends. Afterall when school starts up again on Monday we would slide back into our normal lives and routines. Our relationship would be reduced to a friendly hello if we saw each other around and that was perfectly fine.
"So what do you want me to do Emma?" He whispered leaning in close to my face, staring down into my eyes.
"I think the window is best" I smile at him, a little guilty for making him sneak out yet again "if you don't mind of course." With one final smirk and a goodbye kiss on the cheek he was by the door before I could say goodbye.
With on final peak in the mirror to make sure I wasn't entirely flushed from my tryst with Todd I unlocked my door as an unruly Lina pushes through and engulfs me in another one of her classic Lina hugs.
"Emma I've missed you!!" Holding me at arm's length "we cannot spend another entire summer apart, I have so much to catch you up on an I just don't know how I will remember it all".
All I can do is smile back at her, trying to take in all that she was quickly saying to me. To be honest I was so happy for her to be back, I had missed her more than I would ever admit.
"Where has your the guy gone off to?" She says looking around my room, taking a further step inside.
"Well I missed you too Lina" I couldn't help but chuckle, she really did know me too well. So few people actually do that I keep forgetting.
Turning back toward me putting her hands on her hips "you didn't make that poor guy leave via your window did you?"
"I don't know what you mean" moving to my dresser before facing her guilt spread across my entirely blushed face "I was taking a nap when you got here".
"Uh-huh, sure" taking a seat and giving me a knowing nod. "Henry, it's all clear, come on up" she yells.
Lina and Henry had been together since our first year here and yes, he was the tall ginger she went to talk to at orientation.Their romance was something right out of the books. Girl meets boy. Boy asks girl out. They fall hopelessly in love with one another and the rest is history.
"It's really good you're back Lina, the students just didn't know how to interrupt me like you do this summer"
"Oh hush" she swats the air as her boyfriend walks through the door "Baby! You will not guess what I nearly walked into here."
"I bet I could sweetheart" he adores her so much it's actually sweet. Taking his perch on the arm of the chair she is sitting in and giving me a wink.
He really was a great guy, he accepted me for who I was and he treated Lina right which was all I could really ask for. Henry was tall and smart and would really do anything to protect Lina. If I believed in that kind of love I guess he was the kind of guy I would want.
"So what are you two planning tonight for your first night back?"
"Well we are going to 'Fletcher's'" motioning to me as well "so you better get ready quick because Harry is coming to pick us up in... 15 minutes so you really need to get a move on" standing up and swatting at my arm.
"Lina really? Must I?" I nag as I dramatically fling myself backward on my bed "Fletcher's is all I've had all summer"
She leaps up and lands hard on me "well I haven't been there in three months so we are going".
There was no denying Lina, when she had a plan stuck in her mind all around needed to just let it happen.
Getting ready was really a blur. After shooing Henry out of my room she took it upon herself to pick out my outfit, a white layover skirt and a black button down shirt, and did my makeup all before loosely curling my hair.
"I think you'll do" saying as she stepped back to observe her good work. As if on cue her phone vibrates "they are outside" and almost immediately she's pulling me out my door and down stairs.
Once outside I was welcomed with a sight that I had grown all too familiar with these past few years. The hunter green landrover was parked just outside the door, two young men casually leaning against the car waiting for us to arrive. Being pulled out of their conversation, Henry, the doting boyfriend that he was, quickly wrapped Lina in his arms giving her a kiss.
There would be none of that with Harry and me if that is what you were thinking. After he noticed me at orientation on my very first day here we virtually went back to being the best friends we were when we were younger. There were very few days from then to now when we hadn't talked.
The two of us had grown up to be very similar. In short, we were both players, not really committing to anyone although I didn't know why he never found a girl to stick with. I had my own reasons but Harry? He was attractive and everyone knew it and every night we spent out he would be swarmed with girls just longing to be with him.
And yet we always ended up back together whether it was eating ice cream in the middle of the night or staying in on a friday night watching Netflix. We was my safe haven again and no matter what happened I knew he would be around.
"So Emma?" Pushing off the car to walk over to me "who were you doing" asking with the biggest smile across his face.
"Always so charming I see" I couldn't help but chuckle, he knew me too well at this point "I might ask you the same question". There, giving him a piece of his own medicine as he opened the passenger door for.
"I have no idea what you're talking about" waiting for me to get into the car when I spot a bright pink thong wedged under the seat "Oh really?" Pulling them out from under and holding them up in front of him.
He was so easy to embarrass even as he snatched the panties from my hand and shoved them in his pocket. His face bright red and no matter how hard I tried I burst out laughing. Of course there was no need to be as an embarrassed as he was but, link Lina, he was just too easy.
My now teary eyes followed him as he shut my door and walked around to take the driver's seat, still laughing all the way.
"I'm sorry Haz, it's just too easy sometimes." All he gave me was some silly side eye before he started the car.
"So Lina, where we all off too?" He asked looking back in his rearview mirror at Lina and Henry in the backseat.
"Fletcher's." Lina said giving us the most innocent smile.
Pulling the gear into drive Harry turns his head to me, a large smirk across his face, as we had the same thought, "typical" saying just so I could hear.

A/N: So here's chapter 2. Vote/comment if you so desire (please please do! It would make my day but it is only my second day writing so I should be a little more patient, lol). I hope that this gives a small peak into the characters and who they are. I am very excited to start with all the drama and romance. It's coming I promise, just stick with it.
Ugh, I've already written some of the dramatic scenes between Emma and Harry I just want to get to them so badly! Have any of you experienced that? At least it will make it that much sweeter for me when I finally get to that part of the story. The wait is just so frustrating.
All the love and happy spring!
