Once the contractions stopped and I was able to move again, I walked over to the large window in our living room. My eyes followed all the flashing lights of speeders racing by. The thing is though, I wasn't looking for those speeders, I was looking out for Anakin. From my particular spot, I had a clear view of the Jedi temple. My head was filling up with thoughts and questions on where my husband was. What if he's hurt? What if something's wrong? Will I ever see him again?
So many thoughts swirled mercilessly around in my head. A whimper escaped my lips as I thought of only one solution to this pain: I needed him, right now. I needed him beside me with his arms wrapped tightly around me, the way I love so dearly.
The longer I stared at the temple of pictured my Anakin beside me, holding me tight, the harder it became to stay sane. The tear ducts in the back of my eyes swelled as my vision blurred due to the salty tears building up. I tried to stay strong for Anakin's sake but without the physical feeling of his arms around me, I broke.
*Anakin*
I sat alone in the council room with only my thoughts to torment me. What should I do? I know if I follow my heart, something could happen that would change my life forever. On the same spectrum, Rosie was the only thing in this world I truly looked forward to and loved. If I lost her, who knows what my fate would be.
I sighed as my eyes caught the sight of the penthouse from the temple windows. I slowly walked over and stared out at the building. A weird surge of energy washed through me; I could feel her. She was sad and hurting; she was in need of something. I felt tears come to my eyes as I realized what I must do. I had to change my fate.
Not many minutes later, I'm running into the senate building knowing I had already made my decision. I reached the Chancellors office and saw three jedi masters lying dead on the floor. I continued on, following the sound of broken glass and clashing light sabers. I managed to find them, seeing Master Windu with his lightsaber in pointed in Palpatine's face as he was cowering on the edge of the big broken window.
"You are under arrest, my lord" Master Windu sneered glaring down at Chancellor Palpatine (if you can even call him that).
"Anakin, I told you it would come to this. I was right, the Jedi are taking over!" Chancellor Palpatine cried, glancing over at me.
"The oppression of the Sith will never return, you have lost." Master Windu replied darkly.
"No, no,no you will die" Chancellor Palpatine screamed and shot blue lightning from his fingers at Master Windu. Master Windu lifted his lightsaber to block it and directed the Lightning back down to Palpatine. I squinted at the bright tight and watched, my anger and worry growing stronger with each second.
"I have the power to save the one you love Anakin, you must choose" the chancellor managed to get out.
"Don't listen to him Anakin" Master Windu yelled.
"Don't let him kill me!" Chancellor Palpatine cried helplessly. I looked at them both; I was torn. "I can't hold it any longer. I've g-g-got too weak. Anakin help me! Help me Anakin!" he sputtered out. The lightning stopped and the chancellor lay on the ground completely shattered.
"I am going to end this once and for all" Master Windu yelled pointing his light saber at the chancellor once again.
"You can't, he must stand trial" I finally spoke up, glaring at Master Windu.
"He has control of the senate and the courts, he's to dangerous to be left alive" Master Windu told me.
"I'm to weak! Help, help me Anakin. Please let me live" Chancellor Palpatine pleaded.
"It's not the Jedi way! He must live!" I yelled. "I need him!" Master Windu lifted up his lightsaber ready strike. "NO!" I screamed and turned on my lightsaber, cutting his hand off instantly. Master Windu screamed out in pain. The chancellor smirked wickedly as he sat up and shot blue lightning from his fingers again.
"Power! Unlimited Power!" He shouted and threw Windu over the ledge of the window. I watched in shock at what I had just done. I changed everything.
I dropped down onto a chair, out of breath and in pain. Rosie would have to understand; I did this for her.
"What have I done?" I asked myself. Sidious ( A/N: for now on since he's going to be only a Sith the rest of the time in Anakin's pov) stood up and slowly walked over and stood in front of me.
"Your fulfilling your destiny Anakin. Become my apprentice. Learn to use the dark side of the force." He said.
"I-I will do what ever you ask" I gasped for air from exhaustion and shock.
"Good!" He grinned.
"Just help me save Rosie's life. I can't live without her." I told him.
"To cheat death is a power only one can achieve but if we work together I know we can discover the secret."
"I pledge my self," I dropped down onto my knees in front of him, "to your teachings."
"Good. Good... The force is strong with you. A powerful Sith you will become. Henceforth, you shall be known as Darth Vader."
"Thank you, my master." I looked up at him through my position on the floor; I could already feel the shift in the force. The powers within me felt electrified.
"Rise," I stood up, watching as he walked over to his desk. "because the council did not trust you, my young apprentice, I believe you are the only Jedi with no knowledge of this plot. When the Jedi learned what has transpired here, they will us, along with all the other senators."
"I agree. The councils next move will be on the senate." I nodded.
"Every single Jedi," he says as he places his hood on his head, "including your friend, Obi Wan Kenobi, is now an enemy of the republic."
"I understand, Master." I gulped, feeling a pang in my chest at his words.
"We must move quickly. The Jedi are relentless. If they are not all destroyed, it will be civil war without end. First, I want you to go to the Jedi temple. We will catch them off balance. Do what must be done, Lord Vader. Do not hesitate. Show no mercy. Only then will you be strong enough with the dark side to save Rosie."
"What about the other Jedi spread across the galaxy?" I asked, placing my own hood on my head.
"Their betrayal will be dealt with. After you have killed all the Jedi in the temple, go to the Mustafar system. Wipe out Viceroy Gunrayand the other separatists leaders. Once more, the Sith will rule the galaxy and we shall have peace!" He yelled victoriously. I nodded in agreement and walked out to go complete my tasks.
*Rosie*
It was now completely dark outside and Anakin was not home yet. Only to add to my anxieties, there was a fire at the Jedi temple. If I wasn't freaking out before then I don't know what I'm doing now. I heard a knock and quickly ran over. I swung open the door and saw Padme in tears. I grabbed her arm and pulled her in.
"What's wrong?" I asked in confusion.
"David and Skylar went to go do midichlorian testing at the Jedi temple and-and someone killed them. I can't believe their-their" she stopped and broke down into sobs. I was in shock as I comforted her.
"We will figure it out ok? Let's go find Anakin, I've waited for too long. Do you think he's in Obi Wan's apartment?" I asked desperately.
"I hope he's not at the temple..." she commented, sniffling.
"I don't even want to think about that." I cringed grabbing her hand. "Lets check. We ran into the elevator and went to Obi Wan's floor. I knocked three times and waited for someone to open up. No one did.
"Just go in" Padme suggested. I nodded and shakily opened the door.
"Hello?" We called, not receiving any answer.
"Stay here, I'll go check in the back" I told her. She nodded, looking around curiously. I walked to the back and peeked my head in each room, trying not to invade any privacy in the process.
All of a sudden, I heard the sound of loud footsteps and then a blaster shot. My blood froze in my veins. My fight-or-flight instinct kicked in as I quickly ran into a closet and hid until the footsteps passed.
The blood pounded in my ears as I pushed my way out of the closet and ran to the living room, seeing my worst nightmare come true. Padme lay on the ground, covered in blood as her eyes fluttered. "Padme!" I yelled running over to her side.
"R-Rosie, it was t-troopers. B-be careful" she stuttered out weakly. Tears fell out of my eyes as I stared at her limp body.
"Stay with me, please" I pleaded. She smiled meekly at me.
"I love you R-Ro-" she paused, taking her last breath before closing her eyes for good.
