Tell Me The Reason
We all choose to believe in something greater than what we are
We are humans
Weak, flawed and selfish.
It is a wonderful thought;
the idea of a Higher Power who knows better
than guns, bloodshed and violence
who loves unconditionally
who watches over us
with a plan for humanity's future.
We believe in Yahweh and Christ,
in Shiva and Vishnu,
in Budhha and Mahavira,
in the Prophet Muhammad.
We believe in peace,
in love,
in equality.
Then why do we tear each other apart
in the name of God
in the name of bringing the right God
to the light of all beings?
Why do we fight
when we strive for the same goal
for all the world to live
in perfect harmony?
Why do we kill?
Why do we bomb?
Why do we loot?
Why do we rape?
Why?
We believe our Gods bless us
for who we are,
every single one of us
no matter what we do.
Why then do we stand apart?
Why then can we not depart from our differences?
