This chapter is dedicated to Skaloa for help with the characters and voting/commenting/supporting my book!

{Brooke}

"Why did you leave without me?" Tiana demanded, raising her eyebrow, motioning over to the strange boy.

"I forgot . . ." I trailed off. "Well, I was distracted."

"Do you keep thinking about that rogue?" Tiana asked with a smirk lining her lips.

"No," I shook my head. "A boy-"

"He could be your mate!" She squealed. "After all, she wolves only notice males when they are their mate I'm pretty sure."

"Where's Rose?" I subtly tried to change the subject by generally being worried for my friend.

"She ran off with a guy," Tiana replied, shrugging her shoulders, seeming to bite the bait.

This sentence, although, caught my attention, "Who was it? Was he nice? A jerk? Her mate?"

"Hold your horses," she paused to look at my blank expression before continuing. "I don't really know, since, maybe, when she ran off I didn't get to see or talk to him."

Irritated due to her sarcasm, I walked slightly, but noticeably faster. She rolled her eyes at my immature attitude.

"Well, see you at lunch!" She waved a goodbye before heading off to her own class.

I turned around to find the boy from before following me, I raised an eyebrow at this and he merely grinned. I halted in my steps, intending on asking if he were the rogue from which no one could catch the scent of.

"I'm not," he assured me, as if he read my thoughts. "Would you like to walk to class together?"

"I have English," I muttered.

"As do I," he replied, shaking his head at the fact that I didn't recognise him.

My eyes widened. "I'm so sorry! I didn't realise you-"

He interrupted me, which I found fairly annoying but let him go on since he intrigued me. "It doesn't matter."

"You sur-"

"Yes." Alright, now that was just getting plain infuriating.

"Have you watched the Hunger Games yet?" He queried, noticing my annoyance.

"No," I mumbled, ashamed but amused over his randomness. I've been meaning to watch that movie for quite a while.

"Oh," he murmured, but it looked as if he was holding back a smile. "I'm pretty sure my mum got it for my little sister two days ago. She's actually really upset that I haven't brought any friends home since I had heaps back at my old school. You should come and watch it with me, I'd really hate for my sister to be mad at me for this . . ."

Biting my lip, a smile threatened to break out. Why would he do that? He hardly knew me.

"I think I have other plans," I lied. Lucky for me I was pretty good liar as well.

"No you don't," he argued, rolling his eyes. Well, he is a possible mate, what's the harm . . . ?

"Okay," I agreed. Feeling slightly stupid for doing so.

As the day flew past I couldn't help but notice another guy, probably a year or two older than me, staring.

School had finally ended and I was currently jogging home, in need of the exercise, I couldn't help but stop every once in a while. There was the feeling I was being followed constantly interrupting my thoughts, which then lead to the rogue.

"Hey, my name's Sebastian, what's yours?" A deep voice spoke up from my right. I faced him with a scowl, currently not in the mood as I wanted to get ready. Riley - as I'd discovered was his name - and I had discussed the plans during class.

"None of your business," I replied, he chuckled. It is natural for any wolf to be aggressive towards an outsider as sometimes they may pose a threat. He looked like he belonged to our rival pack, "Moonblade".

"Nice to meet you 'none of your business', though you'll want to tell me soon enough." He explained, cockiness overcoming his tone.

"Sebastian," I growled, "Go find some other girl to toy with."

"But I'm sure you wouldn't like that," he insisted. "I'll possibly be the best chance you've got at being Alpha Female."

I paused, "It's funny how you think I'd actually want to be one in the first place."

Way too much responsibility, I'm too lazy for that stuff.

"When it comes to me you will," he whispered in my ear. "Trust me, you'll be dying to soon enough."

"Do me a favour and get the hell away from me." I snarled, pushing away his body that had been getting conveniently closer.

"I don't do favours for people like you," he seethed through gritted teeth, I raised an eyebrow. My statement seemed to have set him off.

"Like me? Sorry but I don't remember ever talking to you during school, or ever in this case." I snapped, annoyed that he was dissing me although he had no clue over who I was.

"Oh trust me, I know exactly what kind of girl you are," he hissed, moving closer once more. "You are the moody bitch that gets annoyed when she doesn't get what she wants."

"I'm only moody when one causes it," I snapped.

"You keep telling yourself that," he responded, winking at me. "What are you doing today?"

"Like hell am I telling you," I sneered.

"Are you going to watch that movie with that Riley tool?" He asked distastefully. I gasped, he is a stalker!

He rolled his eyes, as if he knew what I was thinking. "You weren't exactly quiet with your conversation."

Deciding that I didn't want to talk to him anymore I walked faster, intending on losing him. He noticed and stopped moving, saluting my retreating figure with a smile.

When I opened the door to my home, I am greeted with the smell of burning cupcakes. Sticking my nose in the air, I inhaled and exhaled, rolling my eyes when I realised it was my brother attempting to cook with mum.

"Get them out of the oven!" I heard my mother screech, probably about to burst out of anger, I laughed.

"I don't want to burn myself," he whined.

"You put yourself up to it when you asked," she paused to cough, probably about to attempt to mimic his voice. "Mum can we do something? I'm so bored."

I laughed even harder, that was most likely the best impression ever.

"Brooke!" My eyes widened and I silently crept to the kitchen, peaking out from my cover to see smoke blowing out from the oven.

"Yes, mother dearest?" I tried desperately to look innocent.

"Get these burnt cupcakes out of the oven while I get you a cake for your birthday," she ordered, already walking through the kitchen and to the door.

I scowled in Andrew's direction, glaring at him whilst I grab the mitts and take out the extremely burnt treats. Whimpering at the sight, I closed my eyes, my poor food.
