Yes Mike I think the Allied Forces would've had the major upper hand if Heartfilia scored that. The Denver River players are already annoyed as it is. All they need is another goal to just push them over the edge.
I landed on my back because of an attempt on a goal. These Denver River folk sure do know how to defend well. Gray never got the clear view and judging by the way he kicked, it was the do it or lose it kinda thing. He'd rather have the goalie kick the ball up then lose the ball. I just couldn't see anything period and used my instincts to make the dive along with the calculations.
I am a flawed person when I need to be.
I saw a hand reach out to me. One of the defenders, a girl with dark brown hair and a nice smile offered me support which I accepted with gratitude.
"That was a close one for us," she said as I got to my feet. "You scare me a lot Heartfilia."
"You defend so well," I sighed. "I've never had someone guess how I move as well as you do, Acuff."
"Oh I know why you're playing like you are today," she started a jog with me right beside her. "You have your FC founder watching you, right? She's in one of those VIP booths."
What she said was half true. Founder Mavis was actually here. Although I can't really see her from where I was, I could see the tinted glass booth and the figures of the special people roaming around up there. So hell yeah I was nervous. Yesterday, I was talking to her as the sister-in-law of Natsu but today, she's watching me as someone who could kick me out in seconds if I don't play well.
So far, playing well isn't really a thing.
Flashback
"Players," Jellal looked nervous when he entered the locker rooms where the whole team was gathered talking scheme with the assistant coach. We all directed our attention to him.
He changed into a pretty nice tailored suit with the Allied Forces FC crest on his left chest. His normally calm demeanor looked a little, let's just say stressed.
"We have a very special guest watching us play today," he stepped to the side and in strolled Mavis, looking as flawless as she did the first time I met her.
Gray was the only one who has yet to meet her so he was just as confused as the rest of the players who weren't in Fairy Tail. Natsu and I surprised, Erza immediately bowing to show her respect.
"Hello players," Mavis said with the same small smile she had on when we first met. "I am the founder of Fairy Tail FC."
"Holy shit," Gray muttered under his breath.
"I was around when I heard of this amazing match along with some," she glanced over at us, "of the proud players of Fairy Tail being here so I just had to drag my husband out. As well as some legends taking the field alongside them."
Jura walked over and held out a hand to her, "It is an honor to have you here assessing our performance."
"Why of course," she smiled at our captain. "I wouldn't miss it for the world."
End of Flashback
So there she was, enjoying wine and other delicacies while we all played like we have never played before. It was nearing the end of the final half, I think we had five minutes added time. We had maybe three minutes to make an epic comeback or go into overtime with a score of 1-1.
"Hey Luce!" the voice called. My ears turned pink.
I looked over at him, "What?"
Natsu gave me one of his irresistible winks, "You ready for this?"
He was so close to me that I could smell his faint cologne rolling around my nose. His chest heaving.
My whole body felt on fire when I remembered back to what happened this morning... when that flawless bare chest of his... was on my back for all the lords know how long.

Wait, what did my mind just say?
"Luce?"
I nodded, "I-I'm ready idiot just do what you have to do, alright? And do it right."
"Geez what did I do now?" he asked, his hands raised almost scared.
"You breathe and you exist that's what!" I snapped.
I stormed away from him before he could see my red face.
"Man ~" Ichiya... "Just how much more obvious can you make it?"
"Just get back in your place!"
The referee blew the whistle for the goal kick. I checked myself real quick, good I'm onside. I watched the ball sail over my head and straight towards the center where Erza was battling things out with the mid-fielder who was her size.
She was a step ahead though, heading the ball to the side towards Natsu.
And just like that! The Allied Forces are back in possession with that one header from Scarlet. It was quite magnficient.
Yes Mike it sure was. Now let's see what the Forces could do with the ball in mid-field.
Salamander took the ball into a sprinting mode straight down the field.
Is Dragneel planning on a full on sprint down the rest of the field?

Acuff knew how my mind worked so I just needed to change things up a bit. I ran in a straight line, using my hand I held up the number two. I didn't bother looking to see if she saw but I trust her.
It seems like Heartfilia and Marvell plans on a two man striking team. Look at the speed of that Marvell! She is faster than a jet plane with her stamia. No wonder she's nicknamed the Maiden of the Sky. She moves just like the wind.
Natsu juked passed a defender without many issues, causing the crowd to shut up for a bit. He kept at full speed for the rest of the way. The flash of blue hair out of the corner of my eye told me Wendy is got my message. I caught her eye between the defender that running between us and she nodded. She slowed her insane speed a bit and I sped up. Acuff right on my tail.
I ran out wider a little towards Natsu to stretch their defenders. My heart beating at how intense this whole combo would end up being if I succeeded. The blood roaring in my ears told me that I'm ready for that one deciding moment.
The crowd was as well.
"Luce! It's coming!"
Once inside the penalty box, I took two more steps just as Natsu gave me one of his infamous passes towards the smaller area. The trail of the ball literally on fire.
Acuff knew how to make things more difficult than they should be that's for sure.
The ball is still in! It's heading straight towards Heartfilia and Acuff!
Just who will get the ball?!
She dove towards the ball to head it back out just as I swung my leg backwards, hooking it, then used the heel of my cleat to slam the ball in towards the net.
The whistle blew twice.
The crowd went crazy.
They have done it! That's it! Heartfilia's amazing high class shot has given the Allied Forces their first win of the competition!
I-I did it. No, we did it!
I looked around me, my whole body embraced by the shouts of the fans that came out here to watch the match chanting my names. Some applauding, some just having a party in their places.
Oh wait.
I saw Acuff readjusting her shin guards on the grass, a look of frustration on her features. I bent down, "You alright? Did I hit you?"
The frustration disappeared almost immediately, "No. You are just so amazing. I actually thought I got you figured out! Damn, I got cocky and you scored a goal like that? I need more practice to be honest."
"You did so good tho-"
I was suddenly cut off when I heard something else... a little more entertaining.
"Oui Natsu," it was Gray. I looked behind me to see the team crouching over the end little advertisement banner running thingy. "Did you actually fall over this thing?"
Natsu did what?
"Stop laughing and help me out of here!" a shout from nowhere came.
The cheering from before turned into complete and utter insane fits of laughter. I couldn't help but laugh out loud myself along with the rest of the defending team belonging to the Denver Rivers.
Carol... did Dragneel just do that?
Yes Mike, I saw it as well. Hopefully Heartfilia's spectacular goal could cover up for what happened to the poor guy.
Natsu ran too fast... so he flipped over the banner. Oh jeez this dork.
