"Chimeras." Dad mumbled.
"Two dead chimeras." I confirmed, looking at Lucas and Tracy's pictures on the wall.
"And eight new ones." Malia added.
"So, ten in all."
"I'm thinking eleven." Dad pinned Donovan's picture on the wall next to Tracy's.
"Our station tech guys confirmed something for me. They said both the holding cell lock and the cameras could've malfunctioned because of something electromagnetic. You said that these guys,"
"Dread doctors." Malia interrupted.
"Are we really calling them that?"
I nodded, "So, they broke Donovan out."
"That's how they got into Eichen, isn't it?"
"Donovan's a chimera but was he a failure like Lucas and Tracy?" Malia asked.
I shrugged, "If he is, he's probably dead."
"Not until I've seen a body... You're uncharacteristically quiet." Dad directed the last part to Stiles.
"Sorry, I'm just trying to think about it. These are all teenagers, right? Shouldn't we be trying to figure out why these teenagers? If the dread doctors will through all that- burying them, killing them, breaking one out of jail,"
I smiled at Stiles for being a genius, "They couldn't of been chosen at random."
"They have to have something in common." Malia added.
Dad nodded, "Something that made them right. Right for the experiment."
"Something that made them special." Stiles whispered.

"That all you got, baby?" I smirked as I blocked another one of Parrish's punches.
Parrish sighed, "I'm trying not to hurt you."
"I'm an Inugami. You could stab me 20 times and I'd still be breathing. I can handle a few punches. Keep going."
Parrish took off his jacket, leaving him in a muscle tank and sweats. I took of my jacket too, revealing my sports bra. His eyes stayed on my face though. Parrish swung a punch, which I easily dodged. I kicked his leg, not hard enough to do any damage but hard enough to knock him down. Parrish grabbed me as he fell, making me fall with him.
I stayed on top of him, "What did you do wrong?"
"I got distracted."
"By what?"
"You." He mumbled.
"Bad idea," I stood up and help Parrish up too, "C'mon."
"Where are we going?"
I nodded my head towards the bathroom, "Shower."
"Why?"
"Because we need to shower."
He smirked before taking off his shirt and following me in.

"My mom's book club usually has more wine." Lydia joked.
"They probably didn't read books that cause violent hallucinations." I replied.
"That's why Malia is here."
"So none of us go running into traffic." Kira finished Scott's sentence.
"Or worst." Stiles mumbled.
"Like what happened to Judy... Chapter 14."
"Maybe I should have my mother read it. She might remember a girl with a tail leaping from the ceiling and attacking everyone."
I shrugged, "If it works."
"It has to."
"What does that mean?" Scott asked.
"I think I saw them during my surgery. When I looked at the cover of the book, it's almost like,"
"A memory trying to surface." Theo finished for her.
"Yeah. If they did something to me, I want to know what it is."

I poured more coffee for the pack when I noticed Stiles massaging his shoulder.
"What did you do to your shoulder?" I asked.
"What are you talking about?" He played innocent.
I placed the coffee mug in front of him, "I can smell blood. What happened?"
"Jeep died on me again. Had to check the engine. Hood fell on it."
His heartbeat was steady but I didn't believe him.

I watched Liam as he turned around to look at Hayden playing soccer.
Brett shrugged, "I don't know, dude. Everyone at Devenford is pretty abnormal to me."
"What is there to look for? There's heightened strength, smell, hearing, speed," Mason began to list.
"Ability to see in the dark."
"Glowing eyes." Brett added.
"Eyes that reflect the light." I corrected them.
"Visible scorpion stingers protruding out of limbs."
"Yeah, or a three foot lizard tail." I joked.
I heard Hayden chuckle as Liam missed a goal. He took the shot again and scored a goal. Liam smirked at her and she replied by scoring a goal of her own.
I looked over to Mason, "What's up with those two?"
"Six grade wasn't the best year for Liam's anger management issues. There was a fight in the hallway, Liam and the other guy, Hayden walked into it and this is her yearbook photo."
Mason downloaded the picture onto his phone. It was a picture of Hayden with a black eye and broken nose.
"Ah, damn. What did she do to him?" Brett asked.
Mason downloaded the other picture and Liam had nearly the same injuries.
Suddenly, someone ran onto the field.
"Does anyone here have asthma? Anyone have an inhaler?"
"Scott."
I hopped off the bleachers and ran to the classroom. Liam gave him the inhaler but he didn't use it.
I turned Scott's face towards me, "Scott, focus."
Liam's eyes turned yellow, "Scott!" He growled lowly.
Scott snapped out of his trance and used his inhaler.
"Thank you."

"You guys try to find Stiles and Lydia. I'm gonna find my mom." Scott said before we all split up.
I grabbed Theo's wrist and lead him towards the stairs.
"You know where he is?"
I nodded, "He's on the roof. There's something supernatural up there, so prepare yourself."
"How'd you know that?" Theo asked in shock.
"I can smell them."
I was right. There was a supernatural creature up here. A Chimera. I shoved the chimera off of Stiles and into Theo, who began to fight him.
"Are you okay?" I checked him out for any injuries.
Stiles nodded and turned back to watch the fight. We both flinched when Theo ripped out his throat.
"Stiles, Scar, you can't say anything. Please. Don't say anything."
I crossed my arms, "Why not?"
"Because I never said anything about Donovan."
