This is going to be a longer one! Yay! (I think...)

"Come, Y/n!" Your older brother, Legolas, shouted. "The patrol has spotted more spiders heading towards the Woodland Realm!" You sprinted through the forest, matching pace with Legolas.

"What is with all the spider sightings?" You shot a worried glance to your brother. He only shrugged and drew his bow, the sound of fighting echoing ahead. "Wait!" You shouted to your brother ahead. The fighting didn't sound right. There was rough, husky voices yelling commands and the sound of... axes? Elves were normally pretty quiet while fighting, the only noises to be heard was the sound of swords being drawn and the whoosh of an arrow being released.

"What is it?"

"Dwarves." You replied, the word thick on your tongue. Why would dwarves even come near Mirkwood if it wasn't for war? You grit your teeth and ran on, Legolas following suit.

Arriving to the clearing you found that you were right, though the dwarves were battling the spiders. You glanced over to your brother, waiting for a command.

"Kill the spiders, we can take the dwarves as hostages. Since there are so few, they might not be here for battle." He drew an arrow and fired at the nearest spider, hitting his target the spider died immediately. You knocked an arrow and aimed, noticing a golden-haired dwarf was about to be attacked from the behind, then fired. You killed your target and the dwarf turned, locking eyes with you. Your breath hitched, he looked nothing like the tales of dwarves described him like.

The screech of a spider caused you to turn and leap into action. Soon another patrol of elves joined the fight, you saw your friend, Tauriel, fighting in the distance.

By now the enemies were all dead and you watched as the dwarves were pinned to a circle.

"Do not think I wont kill you, dwarf." Legolas had his arrow pinned at the one who looked like the leader. "It would be my pleasure."

More elves circled the dwarves, bows drawn. The dwarves started shouting in retaliation then the one you locked eyes with turned and his eyes widened.

"Kili!" You were standing in the distance so you saw one being dragged off by a spider, two more following. Leaping to action, you jumped onto the two approaching spiders, drawing your sword and stabbing them until they were dead. Finally, you shot the one attacking 'Kili' and he looked up at you, surprised. You heard a spider coming up behind you and you went in, once again, into battle.

"Throw me your dagger!" Kili yelled. You listened and heard another eight-legged creature scuttle into the clearing. "Quick!"

"You think I'm giving you a weapon, dwarf, you are mistaken." You killed the spider you were dueling and launched your knife behind you and turned, both spiders dead.

"Search them!" You brother ordered.

Time skip brought to you by Frigga's drapes. Yes, mother doesth know I weareth her drapes.

You walked down to the jail cells, the leading dwarf, Thorin, had given some information to your father, but not enough.

You scanned the cells to be met by a pair of familiar blue-grey eyes.

"Dwarf." You stood in front of the cell. "What is your name?"

"Fili, at yer service." There was a flirtatious tone in his voice.

"What is your purpose here in Mirkwood?"

"I just wanted to thank you for saving my brother. You handle yourself in battle well." You felt a blush rise up in your cheeks but you pushed it away.

"Answer the question."

"You must teach me to fire an arrow like that, it would come in handy later on."

You shot him a glare. There was no way you were falling a dwarf! He only sent you a smirk that made your heart flutter and you forcefully lowered your eyes.

There was the of laughter and music, you and Fili both glanced up.

"Sounds like a party up there."

"It's only the Feast of Starlight."

"Oh, do you do talk besides orders and questions!" He chuckled. You silently cursed yourself. "The one, Legolassie, is he your brother?"

"Legolas, and yes."

"That makes Thranduil your father?" His tone turned serious, he spat your father's name. All hints of flirting gone.

"Do not mock my father." You snapped. "Yet, do not think for one moment that I am like him." You sighed. "He can be cruel, but he has kept us safe for many years."

Fili looked understanding.

"Family can do that, can't they?" He looked up at you with such a gaze that caught your breath. "When I look at you, I can't explain it. You don't seem like your brother or your father, you're different. I see kindness and beauty, but you hide it."

"I don't understand what you mean."

"I'm sure you do." He wrapped his fingers around the bars of his cell.

"You're different from the dwarves in stories that my father told me when I was young. " He cracked a smile. You felt a warming in your heart. It was true, after talking to this one, special, dwarf... You knew you had to help them. You got up to leave, a plan to help them escape forming in your head.

"Wait!" Fili called. "You haven't told me your name."

"I'm Y/n."

"I hope to see you again, my Lady Y/n."

You ran down to the gates when you bumped into an unknown force, sending you falling to the ground. Then magically a hobbit appeared in front of you!

"I'm terribly sorry, I- I just got to go!"

"Are you here to help the dwarves?" It was a random question, but worth asking.

"I- I- um-" He started slowly backwards.

"I know how to help them escape."

"In that case, yes." He walked back over to you. "Why would you want to help them? I've seen how the elves treated them." You blushed.

"Doesn't matter. Go to the wine cellar, the guards there should be drunk and careless at this hour. I bet the keys would be hanging against the wall somewhere. Whatever trick you used to have me not see you, use it again. Bring the keys and unlock the dwarves, I'll distract the guards while you lead them back to the cellar, there will be a lever to release them into the river."

"The river?"

"That is your escape, it will take you to Laketown, Erebor should be close by."

"Anything else?" The hobbit looked flustered.

"Tell Fili that I sent you." You rushed back to the cells and relieved the guards of their duty. You were committing treason against the Woodland Realm, but you were the princess, what could they do?

Time skip brought to you by TARDISes! They're bigger on the inside!

You had assisted the dwarves in escaping, healed Kili of his Morgul Arrow wound, and finally reached Erebor after the destruction of Laketown. Stepping inside the hallways you marveled at the beauty of Erebor, despite being partially destroyed by a dragon. You wished your brother and Tauriel would be here to see it, them having assisted you in helping The Company.

You let out a small sigh. Legolas didn't understand why you chose to go with the dwarves and your father was furious, he sent a messenger to find you. But after saving Kili's brother, Fili let you know that he had feelings for you too. He offered you a place in Erebor, you even earned the trust of all the Company except for Thorin. You wouldn't leave him, even with the short time you had together, your bond was true.

But now you stood, pinned behind the high walls of Erebor while orcs, men, and elves battled at the base of the mountain. You watched hopelessly as the men struggled to defend Dale, your friends and family faltered underneath the blades, and the dwarves grew tired. You wouldn't stand it.

"I have to go over!" You turned to Fili.

"What?"

"My kin are dying! We won't be able to protect Erebor unless we act."

"But Thorin ordered us against leaving!"

"Then help him change his mind! Please Fili, I hate being so helpless." You raced to the edge of the wall, gracefully swinging your leg over and climbing down the rope. "A Eruchin, u-dano i fadas a nyn an uben tanatna le faellas!"

Elves looked up to your voice.

"Rally to me!" You shouted again and charged towards some orcs. Reluctantly, probably because of hearing your 'betrayal,' they started following you. You kept on running, sword swinging back in forth, always in action but then you stopped. There was a loud horn coming from Erebor!

The bridge broke and all of the Company ran out, this time rallying the dwarves. Your two armies swept across the field, hope sparking once more.

"Y/n!" You heard Fili shout, you turned around to see him riding up on a ram. "Thorin wants me to confront Azog on Ravenhill, will you come too?"

You nodded and hopped on behind him, wrapping your arms around his waist.

At the top you jumped off.

"Fili why did you bring the elf here?"

"You wanted the best fighters. Y/n helped us with the spiders, she saved Kili, got us out of Laketown, and also rallied an army of elves to protect Erebor."

Thorin glared at you with such an intensity that made you want to shrink into a ball on the spot. Then his gaze softened turning back to his nephews.

"Fili, Kili, go scout. Be careful."

Fili nodded you Thorin then gave you a half-smile before rushing off. You turned to follow him but Thorin stopped you.

"You're staying here." Respectfully, you stepped back. "Where is that orc filth?" Thorin muttered.

"Thorin!" You turned around to see Bilbo. How he kept appearing out of the blue, you did not know.

"Bilbo." The leader of the Company looked astonished.

"You have to get out of here." The hobbit gasped. "Azog has another army attacking from the North. This watchtower will be completely surrounded with no way out!"

"We are so close, that orc scum is in there." Dwalin pushed Bilbo aside. "I say we push on."

"No!" You interrupted. "That's what he wants!"

"He wants to draw us in." Thorin lowered his voice. "This is a trap. Find Fili and Kili, call them back."

"Thorin are you sure about this?" Dwalin questioned.

"Do it." Thorin gaze off into the foggy distance, snow falling softly to the ground. "We live to fight another day."

But just then you heard a commotion up on the watchtower and your heart stopped. There was Fili, in the arms of Azog.

The Pale Orc smiled a sly grin but you lifted your bow and aimed an arrow at his head.

"Shoot me," he spat, raising his sword, "and he dies too."

You were sure you looked as pale as the snow around you, your heart beating up to your ears. How could you shoot Azog without Fili dying? You redirected your arrow and released the string. The arrow sailed through the air and hit the hand Azog still had left. He roared and released Fili, who fell forwards and hit the ground hardly.

"Fili!" You shouted. Kili appeared from the tunnel behind him but you heard Fili groan and shakily stand up.

"I'm going to feel that tomorrow." He gave you one of his charming smiles and you laughed for a second, only to get serious after Azog yelled in fury. You shot more arrows to the orcs surrounding him as the Pale Orc disappeared. You noticed that Thorin had run off in pursuit.

More orcs and goblins flooded the area and the noise of swords clashing filled the area. But you had a very bad feeling, you listened to your gut and went off to find Thorin just as the horns of Gundabad sounded.

You found Thorin and Azog dueling on the ice, more orcs were charging at Thorin only to be shot down by... your brother? You looked up and met his gaze, but he looked aside and kept shooting only to loose his balance by a troll ramming his head on the panel he was standing on.

Knowing your brother would be able to handle himself you went to the defense of Thorin. Who was now pinned to the ground trying to keep Azog's sword from impaling his chest. You ran forwards and lifted your blade, shouting a battle call. The Pale orc looked up and sneered, releasing Thorin and charging at you instead.

You blade met with a clash and you dueled, you were mostly giving Thorin time to recover. Then Azog pulled a move you had never seen before and his blade went through your chest. Your muscles tensed in shock, pain kicking in after realizing what happened. You drew in a sharp, yet shaky breath. You felt hot blood spread through your clothes as Azog yanked his sword out.

With one last effort, you lifted your blade and swung, beheading the Pale Orc.

You fell to your knees and saw Legolas running towards you. Eagles were flying towards the oncoming attackers and you knew the battle was won. Darkness spread from the corner of your eyes and you heard Fili shout something in the distance...

Your eyes fluttered open and your sight focused. You sat up and a throbbing pain responded in your chest. You saw your father sitting in front of you.

"Y/n."

"Ada!" You looked around but saw nobody else in your room. Wait- this was your room. And not Erebor...

"Yes, you are back in Mirkwood. After you passed out Legolas took you straight back to get proper medical treatment."

"When are we going back to Erebor then? Did the dwarves win the battle?"

"Yes they won and I got my gems back. But you won't be returning." Your breath hitched.

"W-W-Why not?"

"Erebor thinks you are dead, I told them so myself."

"But Fili-"

"What love you had for the dwarf is not real."

"You lied to him!" You yelled.

"Family lies to protect the ones they love!" Your father snarled.

"I wasn't in any danger with him anyways. If you think this love is fake then you don't know what love is!"

Your father stood up, you knew you had crossed the line.

"What make you think you know anything of love?" He spat.

"Because-" Legolas walked into the room, "I heard Fili say that he loved me before I passed out. I have seen the look in his eye and I know that I feel the same way. Whenever he is around me-" you blushed, suddenly feeling awkward to be talking about this, "I feel like I am the most special person in all of Middle Earth. I feel a connection that I know and want to be real, like I would rather die than be parted."

"Foolish girl." Thranduil stormed out of the room.

"Y/n, id this true how you feel?" Legolas walked over to your bed. Your blush deepened and you nodded. "Then it would be a crime if you were away from your love."

"You really agreeing with me?"

"At first I didn't, but now that you are awake," he sighed, "I do. Grab your things, we leave at sundown."

You and Legolas snuck to the stables that night and got onto your horses. The pain in your chest was now replaced by the excited beating of your heart.

You two rode nonstop and you couldn't help but smile as the Lonely Mountain grew taller in the distance. Finally, you were at the gates.

"Go, Y/n. I wish all the best of luck to you." He extended his palm in the proper goodbye signal. He went back to his horse then you noticed he too, had some of his things.

"Where will you go?"

"Ada told me of a ranger to seek out, I cannot go back to Mirkwood, so I will go find him." As he mounted his horse you repeated the same signal he gave you.

"Namarie." And Legolas dipped his head and rode off.

You left your horse in the stables of Dale and moved on to the gates of Erebor.

"You are not permitted into the halls of Erebor, elf." The guards stopped you.

"I have business with- Thorin. I am Y/n Greenleaf, I believe I have a right of entrance."

"Y/n? You're supposed to be dead!"

"That was a lie! My father lied, now please let me through." The guards opened the doors for you.

You walked up to the thrones, seeing Thorin sitting pridefully on the throne and Kili standing on his left.

"Y/n?" Kili asked, astonished.

"My father lied, I am not dead."

"Fili has been mourning you." Thorin spoke up, but you noticed he wasn't glaring at you. He had a slight smile. "He will be very pleased to see that you have returned."

As if on cue you heard the smallest of whispers shout your name.

"Y/n?"

Your turned around.

"Fili!" His face look sunken and eyes red, but it brightened immediately upon seeing you. "Durin's Bear you're alive!" He ran towards you and you met each other's embrace. "I- I saw you with the wound and when your father came back, without you, I didn't know what to do-" You felt a tear trickle down his face and your wiped it away.

"I'm back, everything is okay now. And," you heard Fili's words echo back to you from the waterfall,  "I love you too."
