I hear our feet land. I wince. I grip my shoulder. I can feel the blood dripping from my shoulder. I can feel Lan Zhan looking at me. I let out breaths. Who were they? And why were they trying to kill us... no me. They were trying to kill me. Why...? Did she send them?
"Why were they trying to kill us?" Lan Zhan asks.
"Well... I think they were after me." I cough.
"Wei Ying." Lan Zhan grabs my arm.
"I'm fine." I cough.
I turn my head.
"What is it?" Lan Zhan asks.
"Someone's coming." I say.
Lan Zhan turns and I hear him soot out a ray. I hear a sword clash.
"Second Master Lan! It's me!" A familiar voice says.
I hear him come out.
"Wei... Wuxian?!" Jiang Cheng cries.
"Hi." I cough.
"Wei Wuxian?" Jiang Cheng walks forward.
I draw back. I'm really glad I can't see his face.
"Where have you been?!" He yells.
"Clan Leader Jiang, discretion." Lan Zhan says.
"It's a long story." I cough.
"Wei Ying." Lan Zhan says.
"Wei Wuxian, why are you wearing that thing?" Jiang Cheng says.
"My eyes were ripped from my head." I answer.
"What?" Jiang Cheng breathes.
"It's a long story." I shrug.
"Where have you been these past months?" He asks.
"Nowhere of interest." I say.
I turn. He attempts to grab me, but Lan Zhan gets in front of him.
"Yanli will be glad to know you're alive." He says.
"Good. You can tell her." I say.
