"Stolen?" He asks.

I could only guess, but I'm sure he's baffled. It doesn't make any sense to me either.

"It's a long story. It wasn't pretty at all." I say.

I let out a blister cough. My wounds are starting to act up again. Dammit. Of all times to act up.

"Are you injured?" He asks.

"In many ways." I cough.

"Wei Ying, come back to Cloud Recess." He says.

"Yeah, that's not gonna happen." I manage to stop coughing.

"Why not?" He asks.

I gesture to my mask. He lets out a breath.

"Yeah, I'm a bit of a disappointment." I push off of him.

Just go away. I don't want you here. I don't want you to see me like this. The mask is shameful, but what's even more shameful is I didn't even know she would rip my eyes right out of my head.

"Wei Ying, where are you going?" He asks.

"I'm going to go after the mad woman who ripped my eyes out." I answer.

"Wei Ying." He says.

He grabs my arm. I turn to him. I can only guess what his face is saying. I let out a breath.

"I'm coming with you." He says.

"I don't really have a choice, do I?" I sigh.

"No." I can hear his head shaking.

"Alright fine." I say.
