"How bad does it look?" I ask.
He falls silent. I can only guess what his face does. I feel his hand on my wound. I wince.
"Sorry." He says.
"It's fine." I say.
I can hear him nod, or I'm guessing it. My nose picks up some herbal concoction. I cock my head. Lots of grassy smells were entering my nose. I can still smell with this mask on. It's just meant to shield my face. He presses his hand onto my wound. I wince. His hand feels slimy. His hand feels like grass. I feel it enter my wound.
"How's everyone doing?" I ask.
"Lady Yanli and Jiang Wangyin have not stopped looking for you." He says.
A jolt fills me suddenly. A jab of pain enters me. I wince. It's surprising for some reason.
"Wow." I mutter.
"Sorry, did I hurt you?" He asks.
"No." I say.
I let out a breath. Is it right for me to assume dead? Is it right for me to cause so much pain for them? I thought I was saving them from my shameful face, but now it's a sickening feeling. It's a feeling that burns my inners. Am I even doing the right thing anymore? Is this the right way to get my eyes back?
