"Roman is our mother's child from her second husband hence the different surnames" Xavier said.
"So you are saying you are Roman's Elder brother?" Scarlet asked.
"Yes," Xavier said.
"Then I need to leave this place as fast as possible," Scarlet said and left the kitchen.
As she made her way upstairs her heart raced in her chest, Everything was complicated now and it was embarrassing, How could she have a child for the younger brother and then have a stupid crush on the elder brother who was still stuck on his first love, what a beautiful love triangle she has created for herself, so the sooner she leaves this place the better for her.
"Hey baby," Scarlet said when she entered the room and found her daughter awake.
"Hi Mum," Sofia said.
"I have good news for you, Scarlet said and got on the bed so she could cuddle her daughter.
"Good news? what is it?" Sofia asked as she rested her head on her mum's shoulders.
"We will see your dad soon," Scarlet said.
"Mum?" Sofia said with excitement.
"Yes, 'cause we would be leaving in an hour," Scarlet said.
"That's so wonderful mummy I finally get to see daddy!!" Sofia said excitedly.
"Yes, so I need you to prepare and make sure you are ready when I get back okay?" Scarlet said and placed a kiss on her daughter's forehead before going to open the door for the maids who came to help Sofia get prepared while she went to take care of things.
Scarlet went back to the kitchen and met Catarina and Xavier Arguing again which made her roll her eyes, seeing them argue was the last thing she needed at the moment, all that was important right now was leaving this island so she could be as far away from Xavier as possible, she had wasted too much time here already and it has distracted her from her plans and goals if she couldn't destroy roman now then she had to end her father's tyranny she didn't have the luxury of time to nurture any unwanted feelings or create any unnecessary love triangle, her daughter's life was at stake here.
"Excuse me...I'm sorry to interrupt but I just want to let you guys know that we will be ready in an hour I hope the chopper gets here on time" Scarlet said gaining their attention.
"Oh yes the chopper is almost here I believe in forty-five minutes it will arrive" Xavier said.
"Okay...Thanks" Scarlet said and turned to leave.
"Scarlet wait!" Xavier said stopping her from leaving.
"I... we need to talk," He said.
"I don't think there's anything to talk about Xavier...I need to start preparing as you know I don't have the luxury of time" Scarlet said.
"I...it would just be a minute," Xavier said and closed the gap between them.
"No," Scarlet said and took a step back.
She didn't know why she didn't want to have this conversation with him, was it jealousy, anger or fear, maybe deep down she was afraid of whatever he wanted to say to her, she didn't want anything that would change her mind from leaving and one thing she knew was that if she stayed close to this man any longer it would jeopardize her life, whatever this was she couldn't let it go beyond this stage.
"Scarlet Please" Xavier said with longing in his eyes like whatever he was about to say to her was the most important thing that mattered to him right now.
"No Xavier please... stay away from me" Scarlet said then hurriedly made her way to her room cause she knew if she stayed there any longer she would change her mind.
Immediately she closed the door rested her back on it and let out the breathe she's been holding, Xavier was intoxicating in many ways that she couldn't explain, all the while she was talking to him her heart was racing heavily in her chest, everything about him made her crave for him, his voice, his eyes, the way he said her name, his musky masculine scent that tends to cloud her senses every single time she inhaled it, everything about Xavier was dangerous, Dangerous because she tend to loose herself every time she was around him and that wasn't a good thing. She sighed and made her way to the bed where she sat down and sighed again, she was going to miss him in a way and it hurt, she didn't realize how deep she had fallen until now.
"Get your act together Scarlet now isn't the time for this....maybe in another life but not now, Sofia's safety comes first and destroying your father is the only way to ensure that...so pull yourself together and start coming up with a plan," Scarlet said to herself.
With that mindset, she began packing her things and devising a plan that she prayed wouldn't fail, but the most important thing right now was getting to her house, it was the last place that would come to anyone's mind to look for her, it was safest at the moment when she was done she took her bath and changed into a black leather jumpsuit and boots then put her hair up in a ponytail, she had to be ready for any surprises, she took in her reflection and she was satisfied with how she looked the red lipstick she had applied made her look like the femme fatale that she was and she loved it, she picked up the bag and left the room.
"Hey baby," Scarlet said when she saw her daughter downstairs with Xavier.
"Hey, mummy!" Sofia said cheerfully.
"You seem so happy what's the reason?" Scarlet said to Sofia ignoring Xavier's Presence.
"Doctor Xavier said he would be coming with us to help us meet Daddy! and I like that" Sofia said.
"What?" Scarlet said and turned to Xavier when she noticed he also had a bag with him.
"Yes, I am," Xavier said.
"No, you are not" Scarlet said her brows knitted together in a frown.
"Yes I am scarlet and there's nothing you can do about it" Xavier said.
"I didn't ask for your help, I don't need you," Scarlet said angrily.
"It doesn't matter," Xavier said.
"Stop this Xavier what exactly do you think you are doing?" Scarlet said
"Can you both not argue in front of the child please?" Catarina said interrupting them.
"Sofia can you go with Catarina I and the doctor have something important to talk about okay" Scarlet said to Sofia and placed a kiss on her forehead before handing her over to Catarina.
Immediately after Sofia left Scarlet turned to face Xavier but was startled by how he had closed the gap between them, she raised a brow at him and took a step back.
"What do you think you are doing?" Scarlet said.
"I have to get back to the hospital too," Xavier said and closed the gap between them.
"Why do you keep doing this?" Scarlet asked.
"Cause you keep running away and it's driving me crazy" Xavier said.
"Am not running away I just don't want to be close to you" Scarlet said.
"Why?"
"Cause I don't want to I don't need to have a reason" Scarlet said.
"Well, I want you close to me so I advise you to stop running 'cause I'll always close the gap between us," Xavier said as stared into her eyes.
"Xavier" Scarlet said as she was also getting lost in his eyes.
"let me have you," Xavier said as he leaned towards her to kiss her, his eyes fixated on hers not wavering.
"Xavier" Scarlet whispered as her breathing became heavy as he closed whatever space there was left between them.
Scarlet didn't know when she closed her eyes waiting for him to get to her, at that moment all her defences shattered, every wall she had put up against him crumbled as she stood there with her eyes closed waiting for his kiss, and when his lips came in contact with hers she felt whole, it was like she was being kissed for the first time in her life, her mind, body and soul were all in agreement, so she opened her mouth wider giving him more access.
Xavier's kisses were not demanding or rough or hungry, it was like he was making love to every inch of her mouth, his tongue caressed hers, his hands pulled her close and held her tightly like his life depended on it and she loved it, he was firm and gentle at the same time, she had fallen for this man and there was no denying it anymore.
But What A Mess It was.
