I Wanna Be The Very Best

Chapter 48: A Champions Coronation

At the ceremony, a large crowd has gathered as everyone who was anyone, turns up to support and celebrate their new champion.

On stage sits: Steven, Wallace, Brock, Misty, Kiawe, Mallow, Lusamine, Lillie, Gladion, the Kahuna's, Proffesor Burnet, Kukui and Alain. Cynthia stands at the pedestal as she finishes off her speech, rallying for the people of Alola to stand together through these troubled times.

The crowd erupts into applause, feeling motivated at the famous Sinnoh champion's words. Cynthia takes in the applause before she turns around and walks back to her seat.

Alain takes his queue and stands up. He is last to give some words on the champion's behalf before Kukui reads out the prepared speech Ash gave him earlier.

Alain looks to his left and gestures over to his Charizard, who flies behind him to support him during his speech. Alain makes his way to the pedestal and stands looking out at the crowd as he prepares to begin his speech.

However, as he looks out into the crowd, he spots a shadowy figure making his way through the crowd, moving as fast as a blue streak of lightning.

Alain let's a smirk drift onto his face, only knowing one Pokémon capable of speed like that. After all, he was one of the only one to ever beat it and the first since he mastered the special form.

The Pokémon suddenly appears next to Alain, almost as if he teleported instead of ran through the crowd. The mysterious pokemon looks at the Kalos Champion in front of him before bowing respectfully and making his way to stand with the other ace Pokémon.

The crowd look on in awe, witnessing the unmatched speed of the mysterious Greninja who some still thought was nothing but a myth.

Alain looks at the crowd and laughs lightly at their reaction. Truth is he'd had a similar reaction to that as well when he first saw Greninja move at full speed. The pace of the ninja frog certainly is shocking to say least.

Alain takes a second to compose himself before he begins his speech. He clears his throat before he exclaims "I'm not usually one for big inspirational speeches, that's more of Ash's thing. But I'll do my best impression in his absence. Speaking of absence, I know some of you are a little disappointed that Ash isn't here to speak to you all. Well that's not entirely true. The Pokémon you just witnessed is proof that, although the champion isn't here, he's always watching over you. I know he'll be doing everything in his power to keep the Alola region safe. That I can guarantee you. He'll never let the people of Alola down."

The crowd let off a small applause at Alian's comments before he continues "Ash is a dear friend of mine, someone who showed me to the light once and for that I'll always be grateful. However, he's not just a friend. He's also the strongest opponent I've ever faced. He brings out the best in those he faces, the feeling he brings over you is infectious. In other words Ash is a perfect example of what a champion should be, someone for everyone to look up to. Unfortunately he isn't here today but I can assure you that.."

Suddenly a large roar echoes throughout the Alola region. The stage shakes a little from the ferocity of it.

Alain looks up to the sky with shock in his eyes, the roar he heard only could be rivalled by his Charizard. His shock soon disappears and is replace by a smirk on his face as the figure comes into view.

The crowd goes ballistic with cheers as Ash flies in on Charizard's back, waving to the crowd with Pikachu perched on his shoulder. Serena sits right behind her boyfriend, holding Ash tight with one arm around his waist as she uses the other one to wave to the crowd with a smile on her face.

Alain chuckles slightly at Ash's sudden entrance and announces to the crowd "Looks like I won't need to do an impression anymore, the real deal is here."

The crowd roar in support of their champion as Alain turns around to sit with the rest of the champions and the rest of Ash's friends.

Ash beams a smile at the crowds reaction as he takes in the overwhelming support he's receiving. He points towards the stage and orders "Charizard, set us down on the stage." Charizard let's off a roar of approval before swooping down towards the stage with such skill that it causes the crowd to get even louder with their cheers. Charizard lands on the stage rather gracefully for such a large Pokémon, as he lowers his head for the rest to depart.

Ash leaps off Charizard first with Pikachu still on his shoulder. He looks up towards his girlfriend and helps Serena down by taking her hand in his. She smiles at Ash's gentlemanly gesture before she takes a step away from Ash to go and sit with the rest of their friends.

While she'd love to stay with Ash the whole time, there was the risk of taking away his shine. She didn't want to steal his spotlight when they were there to celebrate his achievements. Plus there was the small fact that they were in public. While they both knew they wanted to reveal their relationship back at the Alola league, a lot had changed since then. While their relationship is the worst kept secret in the world at this point. Serena still doesn't know if Ash is comfortable with confirming it now and she's not going to take a risk which could ruin their night.

However, before she can walk any further, Ash pulls her back gently, pulling her back towards him. He looks into her eyes with a reassuring smile on his face as he exclaims "Serena, we're a couple right? That means we share our achievements. I want us to do this together because we achieved it together. I'm not letting you leave my side."

Serena feels her heart warm at Ash's reasoning. She doesn't reply to him directly, mostly because she is still a little short of breath from her injuries. She just smiles again and nods to him in an approving manner. If he wants her with him during his big moment she wasn't going to disagree. In truth it's exactly what she'd want if the situation was reversed. It only makes sense to accept the award together because they both know that their success is always down to each other.

Ash gives Serena his toothy grin she loves so much before he unclips 6 pokeballs from his belt. He throws all 6 up into the air as he releases his Alola league winning team to join the festivities.

With his team following close behind, Ash first walks past the champions and friends ace Pokémon to greet them. Ash shakes hands and introduces Serena to a few of them he'd met before. Ash's Pokémon follow suit as they introduce themselves to the other pokemon. Overall they are pretty friendly to one and other a few recognise each over as rivals as they share harsh glares, such as the two Incineroar's. As Ash's Charizard passes by Alain's he makes sure to size him up for a second, interested in this other Charizard's power.

Ash makes his way past all the pokemon until he reaches the last one. The last Pokémon Ash passes by just so happens to be his own ace pokemon, Greninja.

Ash smiles at Greninja and remarks in a slightly apologetic tone "I'm glad you could come Greninja, I'm sorry I kinda lied about not going to the celebration. Serena kinda forced me to go. Not like she was wrong to, Serena always has the best ideas." Ash looks back at Serena and steals a glance at her before moving his attention back to Greninja.

Greninja nods and replies in a knowing tone "I had a feeling that might happen. There was no way she was letting you miss this for her. She loves you to much for that."

Ash smiles at his ninja frog Pokémon's comment and exclaims "Join on the back Greninja, I know you didn't compete in the Alola league but this celebration is for defeating team rainbow rocket too and you were the biggest reason I was able to do that."

Greninja gives Ash a small smile at his recognition before nodding in approval.

Ash smirks a little and jokes in a light hearted tone "You know, If you and Charizard were in the Alola league. I probably wouldn't have lost a Pokémon in any of my matches."

Greninja shakes his head and replies in a joking manner "Not with how you battled against Hau."

Ash shakes his head at Greninja's comment and holds his fist out in front of him. Greninja nods and thrusts his fist forward as he fist pumps his trainer. It's clear that they are both closer than ever before, close enough that Greninja's comment didn't change that. The truth being, Ash and Greninja liked to banter back and forth a little through their connection when they were both apart. Nothing they say was ever taken seriously, just used to add a little extra motivation.

Ash moves on to the next person in the line as Serena follows behind. She instantly spots Greninja and beams a smile before locking Ash's ace pokemon in a hug. She smiles at him and remarks "Thanks you so much Greninja, for saving Ash again!"

Greninja feels a happiness come over him from his trainers 'mates' praise before giving her a light hug back, making sure he didn't hurt her at all costs.

Greninja replies in his native tone "We saved each other, truth being you probably saved us both. Sorry you got hurt, I should have been quicker."

Serena smiles reassuringly at Greninja, while she couldn't understand exactly what he was saying she certainly has some sort of understanding of what he is trying to say. Serena shakes her head slightly and replies "Don't worry about it Greninja, I did it for Ash. It's the same thing you would have done right."

Greninja smiles, feeling proud to receive praise off her. While Serena and Greninja are not as close as they are with some of the others. They share one thing in common, a strong bond with Ash. Serena knows Greninja is the pokemon closest to Ash's heart and Greninja knows Serena is the girl Ash loves. That instantly gives the two some common ground to say the least.

After a few seconds, Greninja breaks the hug and smiles at Serena. He chuckles a little and exclaims "Take care of Ash for me."

Serena smiles at Ash's ace pokemon and replies "You can count on me Greninja." They give a nod to each other before Serena takes her leave and follows Ash.

The rest of Ash's Pokémon are next to walk past Greninja. Ash speaks about Greninja a lot to them so they all have a respect for him, hearing about the trials and tribulations they'd been through together. They expect him to be stern but like Ash, Greninja is welcoming and friendly. He congratulates them all for winning the Alola league and for helping his trainer take a step forward towards his dream.

However, that sentiment only lasts until Greninja meets Charizard who brings up the rear. Charizard looks straight into Greninja's eyes with a glare, trying to asses the ninja frog pokemon.

Greninja doesn't back down and stares right back at Charizard with no fear in his eyes. Many in the crowd wait with anticipated looks on their faces as they wonder whether a fight will break out between the two powerhouses.

However, those fears quickly vanish as Charizard holds out his big claw, showing Greninja has Charizard's full respect due to his strength and clear bond with Ash.

Greninja takes a second to asses the situation before he shakes Charizard's hand, cementing a respect between them as Charizard welcomes Greninja into his group. Greninja nods in respect of Charizard's power and seniority as a hand shake for the ages takes place. After a few seconds, they break up their friendly handshake as Greninja joins onto the rear of the group.

Ash next walks by the island Kauhuna's as all 4 shake his hand and congratulate the young champ on his success. Serena follows next, introducing herself to those she's only met briefly. The kahuna's all enquire about her health and ask her how she is feeling after the incident. Serena reassures everyone and tells them she is doing fine. Olivia in particular is happy to see Serena up and about and compliments her on her new outfit. Serena beams a smile at the compliment and thanks the Akala island Kahuana in a polite manner.

Ash moves on ahead to the next people in the line which just so happens to be Mallow and Kiawe. Ash smiles at the pair as Serena makes her way over to join her boyfriend.

Ash speaks first as he exclaims "Glad you could make it." He turns his attention towards Mallow and adds in a slightly sarcastic tone "I see you stopped Serena doing anything too dangerous by letting her take Charizard out for a ride huh?"

Mallow chuckles a little at Ash's remark before she shrugs her shoulders and replies "I just used the Ash Ketchum definition of not dangerous. You know you were our teacher after all so I just took what I learned off you."

Ash laughs a little, not really having a good comeback for that one. Mallow is kind of right in a way. If they were going by what he taught them then flying on Charizard is like a walk in the park compared to some of his other dangerous activities.

Ash shakes off his laughter and admits in a humble tone "You've got me there, it's been a pleasure travelling with you Mallow and being your teacher. Thank you for helping make this journey so awesome."

Mallow beams a smile at Ash's kind statement and replies "The pleasure was all mine. Thank you for letting us accompany you."

Mallow gives Ash a small sisterly hug that Ash returns, before he moves forward to speak with Kiawe. Serena on the other hand looks at Mallow with a small smile.

Mallow smirks a little as she sees the honey blonde girl and teases "So the plan we set up worked then right?"

Serena beams a smile and replies in a happy tone "It worked like a charm."

Mallow let's her smirk grow a little wider as she nudges Serena lighty and teases "So how did he react to the new outfit?"

Serena giggles a little at the memory of Ash reacting to her new outfit. She holds her giggles for a second and blurts out "He nearly had a nose bleed. I don't think I've ever seen him so flustered."

Mallow giggles a little imagining Ash's reaction before she nonchalantly replies "But who could blame him right? I mean look at you Serena. You are one stunning girl."

Serena goes a little red in the face from the comment and whisper shouts "Mallow!"

Mallow laughs at Serena's reaction and how easily she can get embarrassed. She soon shakes off that sentiment as she reassures Serena "There's no need to embarrassed. It's just that the new outfit fits you really well. It's a good thing."

Serena is still a little red but smiles as she exclaims "Thanks Mallow, your a real good friend."

Mallow smiles back at her friend and replies in a thankful tone "You too Serena." The two embrace in a sisterly hug, thankful for the friendship they've made with each other

Meanwhile, Ash walks towards Kiawe with a smile on his face and greets "Kiawe, I'm glad you could make it. It means a lot to have you here."

Kiawe nods in agreement and replies "Of course I'm here Ash and it means a lot that you invited me. You've done a lot for me, took me out of that school and helped me edge closer to my goal. I'd say I owe you a lot."

Ash shakes his head and exclaims in a humble tone "That's not all true Kiawe. All did was give you a start, the reason you feel closer to your dream is because you've worked so hard. You've sure come along way since we left the school to say the least. In fact, I have something to ask you but it can wait until tomorrow."

Kiawe smiles at Ash's kind words and replies in a thankful tone "Thank you Ash. Enjoy this celebration today, you've earned this to the least. I'll talk to you later when you're quiet."

Ash holds his hand out in front of him and replies "I sure will." Kiawe smiles at the gesture as he extends his hand forward and shakes Ash's hand. Ash moves forward towards the Aether foundation as Serena moves on to speak to Kiawe.

Kiawe smiles at the honey blonde girl and questions "So, your feeling better now then."

Serena smirks a little and replies in a nonchalant tone "Well I'm awake, which is a good thing I guess."

Kiawe chuckles a little at the honey blonde girl's reaction and replies "Well it's good to see you fighting, it's like you both say. Never give up right?" Serena feels a little impressed and happy that Kiawe has taken on one of her and Ash's sayings. It seems as though Ash's teachings have had a big effect on Kiawe. Not like that's any surprise to Serena considering he's always been a great teacher for her since they started their journey.

Serena beams a smile and exclaims "That's right, we live by that saying."

Kiawe nods and replies "I've noticed, now go catch up with him."

Serena nods and replies "I will, take care." She leaves Kiawe be and walks over to join Ash in his conversation with the Aether family.

Ash's Pokémon all walk past Mallow and Kiawe while smiling at them. They've all become close over their journey and are happy to see each other again. This pattern continues until Charizard reaches Kiawe.

Charizard glares at the fire type trainer, making Kiawe take a step back in fear of the fire type starter. Charizard laughs, seeing the fear he caused in Kiawe, knowing he's won the mental battle. He lets off a small huff before walking off to join the rest.

Greninja walks past afterwards with a more apologetic look on his face. He stands in front of the fire type trainer and bows in apology for Charizard's actions.

Kiawe sighs and complains "why can't Charizard be as relaxed as him. All I did was copy his move."

Meanwhile, Ash begins taking with: Lusamine, Gladion and Lillie who are all stood next in the line. Gladion speaks first as he smirks at Ash and teases "All this really, just for defeating me. I think it shows how good of a trainer I am.

Lillie frowns at the remark and hits Gladion shoulder, causing her older brother to clutch said shoulder and let off a yelp of pain. Ash can't help but laugh at the two siblings, while they are fighting like siblings do. It's nice to see them both happy and together after all they've been through.

Lillie pouts a little as she lectures her older brother "First of, Ash saved all of Alola you idiot. He didn't just get a celebration for beating you. If that was the case there'd be a celebration every week. Plus, he easily could have beat you sooner  if he wanted." She finishes while pointing towards Charizard and Greninja.

Ash chuckles a little at Lillie's statement and remarks "Hey, just because those two are strong it doesn't mean their unbeatable. I would have had a tough time either way."

Lillie smirks a little and teases "It's true that their not unbeatable. Nebby would destroy them both"

Ash puts a competitive smirk on his face and exclaims "It would be a good match up for sure. But I know we'd win."

Lusamine shakes her head a little and changes the subject as she questions "So Ash, what do you think of the ceremony we set up?"

Ash smiles as he looks into the crowds and exclaims "It's great seeing all the people here for us. It's a wonderful feeling I'll never forget."

Lusamine shakes her head as she corrects the teenage champion "They're not here for use Ash, they're here for you."

Ash, as modest as ever, shakes his head and replies in a humble tone "Everyone here was apart of the battle against Team Rainbow Rocket right? This celebration is for all of us."

Gladion sighes and mutters "As modest as ever."

Lillie laughs a little and teases "You should try it some time big brother, it's called being humble." Ash chuckles a little at the siblings constant arguments. He lets off a small smile at the Aether family before he takes his leave to continue on down the line.

Serena takes a step forward towards the Aether's as Lillie beams a smile at the appearance of the honey blonde girl. Lillie internally cheers and exclaims "The plan worked!"

Serena giggles a little at the young girl's reaction before she winks and replies "Yep, thank you both for your help."

Lusamine warmly smiles at the young lady in front of her and exclaims "It's no problem dear, you ever need any advice let me know."

Serena smiles back at the older woman and replies "I will Ms Lusamine, thank you."

Lusamine puts a hand on her hip and remarks with a small tease in her voice "See, you girls can definitely learn something from us old heads still."

Serena nods in agreement and exclaims "We sure can, you can't beat experience."

Lillie looks up to Serena with a beaming smile plastered on her face. She takes a deep breath before she exclaims "Serena, thank you so much for being such a great big sister. I've always wanted one like you. I really do appreciate everything you do for us."

Serena couldn't help but smile at Lillie's statement as she feels emotion come over her. The truth is, she shares the same sentiment. She'd always wanted a little sibling her whole life. Serena was constantly lonely most of the time as a kid so it was only natural she'd want a younger sibling to play with. She'd practically beg her mother when she was a kid. Now she's older she realises that her mother couldn't have have given her a younger sibling and that having siblings isn't quite all sunshine and rainbows.

Still that didn't stop Serena from having that same sentiment when she met up with Bonnie for the first time. Bonnie practically turned into her little sister over night and her and Serena became close. They got on so well that it was unprecedented, hell for most things during their journey Bonnie would go to Serena before her actual brother. Now she has a similar relationship with Lillie. Yes they aren't as close but Lillie still sees Serena as a strong sisterly figure to look up to.

Serena beams a smile at the young girl and admits "You too Lillie, I'm proud of you." Lillie smiles before running and locking Serena in a tight hug. Serena winces a little thanks to the pain in her ribs but stays strong as she embraces Lillie back.

Lusamine smiles at the two as they break before holding her arms out in an inviting manner. Serena smiles at the older woman before giving her a much lighter embrace.

The two break as Lusamine smiles and remarks "Go and show the world how great you are in the master class. The world is yours Serena, your so young, talented and full of kindness. Now go ahead and grab it with both hands and make it your own. We'll be watching and cheering you on."

Serena feels a sense of pride come over her as she listens to the statement. Lusamine is such a great motherly figure to her, always giving out advice and just being gennerally very kind. She is someone who Serena can look up to in a way. A strong businesswoman with a very successful company but also a kind and caring mother. It's kind of hard for Serena to believe that Lusamine was actually trying to destroy Alola at one point considering how she acts now.

Serena shakes off her thoughts and puts on a confident face. She punps her fist and exclaims "I won't let you down."

Lusamine warmly smiles at Serena's statement and replies I know you won't dear."

Serena nods in approval before she moves along the line to join Ash in a conversation with Brock and Misty.

The rest of Ash's Pokémon walk past the Aether family as Lillie makes sure to hug each of them individually, even Charizard and Greninja who she hadn't really met but they are Ash's Pokémon so it doesn't matter. The two powerhouses just shrug it off and keep moving along.

Meanwhile Ash approaches Misty and Brock. He approaches his two Kanto traveling companions and gives Brock a fist bump before giving Misty a small hug.

Ash smiles at the two and exclaims "It means so much to me to have you guys here when I officially become the champion."

Brock smiles back and remarks "Well Ash, it means a lot seeing you up here. It feels like we've all come a long way."

Misty nods in agreement and adds with a small tease in her voice "Who would have thought the boy I fished out a lake would win a Pokémon league huh."

Ash chuckles a little at the memory and replies in a humble tone "Yeah, it's pretty surreal. But I couldn't have done it without you guys. You taught me so much when I started out and helped shaped me into the trainer I am today."

Brock smiles at Ash's humility, the out of his depth over confident trainer that walked into his gym at 10 years old had turned into a mature young man. He exclaims "You've earned it Ash, just make sure you enjoy it and spend today with those special to you".

He discreetly gestures towards Serena and his Pokémon, obviously trying to give Ash some advice.

Ash picks up on Brock's gesture and replies "I will don't worry Brock." At that moment, Serena walks towards the 3 as Ash beams a smile at his girlfriend. He holds his hand out invitingly towards her as he encourages her to join them.

Serena hesitates for a second to take Ash's hand, remembering that they are still in front of the entire Alola region with cameras watching all around the world. In the end the temptation to intervene fingers with Ash wins out as she takes his hand and stands in front of his two friends.

The crowd cheer upon the two locking hands but neither Ash or Serena really pay attention to it. They are done hiding at this point. They love each other to much to hide their feelings no matter what anyone says.

Misty smiles at the site of the two, truly proud of the boy she's come too see as her little brother. She looks at Serena with a slightly raised eyebrow and remarks "I see you convinced Ash to com to the festival. Thank you honestly."

Serena smiles at Misty's approval and exclaims "Yeah, it's was pretty easy once I convinced him that I was okay and that I'm not letting him miss this. I guess its just something you do for the person you love."

Brock has a concerned look on his face as his medical instincts take over. He advises "You know, I'm a Pokémon doctor but I've got a good idea about human injuries too. You really shouldn't be moving around this much and this soon. The pain is going to get worse if you do. You should still really be on bed rest."

Hearing Brock's concern makes Ash concerned too as he holds Serena's hand little tighter. Serena smiles reassuringly at her boyfriend before she turns to Brock and replies "I know it's going to be painful but I need to push through to get stronger. Otherwise I'm never going to be ready for the master class."

Misty smiles at Serena's determination and remarks "That sounds reckless, like something Ash would do."

Brock sighs in defeat and exclaims "Well at least it's not as bad as jumping off of buildings or fighting a psychic lady who wants to turn you in to a doll. Not to mention a Gengar taking away your soul temporarily. Oh yeah and didn't you mention something about fist fighting Mewtwo?"

Serena gasps in shock upon hearing about some of Ash's dangerous adventures. She turns towards her boyfriend and looks at him with concern plastered on her face.

Ash internally curses Brock for throwing him under the bus as he weighs up his options. Right now 3 things are possible. Either they'll talk about it later and Serena will lecture him on his past actions. Two she takes a more lighter approach and gets a little emotional while expressing how worried she would have been. Or Ash does something now to change the subject and they have a light hearted joke about this one day. Naturally he chooses option 3.

Ash pulls Serena closer as he puts an arm around her waist and exclaims "I'll explain later, and don't worry. I'm going to take good care of Serena. We're going to work together to make sure she gets better quick. I'm not gonna leave her be until she's well. That's my promise."

Serena blushes a rosy red from Ash's statement as she feels her heart warm. She quickly forgets about her previous concern as she feels so special that she's got Ash to take care of her through her injuries.

Brock looks at the two and lets off a small smile as he remarks "Well, looks like I've got nothing to worry about then."

Misty nods and adds "That's right, Serena take good care of Ash for us."

Serena smiles and exclaims in a determined tone "You can count on me."

Ash scratches the back of his head and remarks "I can take care of myself you know."

The three turn towards the Alolan champion and give him a look that screams "Are you serious?"

Ash chuckes nervously and admits "Yeah, your right." Ash and Serena say their goodbyes as they move along the line to speak to the champions.

Ash's Pokémon pass by Misty and Brock. Brock and Lyacnroc give each other a nod of approval after their joint effort to beat Nihilego. Charizard gives both a big thumbs up, seeing his old friends again. Misty completely fangirls when she sees Greninja. She squeals and shouts "Who knew Ash could have such a strong and cool water type!"
Greninja nods and smiles at the compliment before follows the rest of the group.

Ash and Serena walk together hand in hand as they approach Steven and Wallace who are next in line. Ash smiles at the pair and remarks "Thank you both for coming."

Steven chuckles a little and responds "You asked us too remember Ash."

Ash laughs nervously and scratches the back of his head a little as he replies "Haha, yeah your right I guess."

Wallace looks at the current grand festival champion and bows a little as he politely greets "Ah Ms Serena, your looking gorgeous as ever. It's great to see up and about after the incident."

Serena smiles at the kind words as she bows a little and replies "Thank you Wallace."

Wallace strikes a little pose and exclaims "I heard you did some performance style battling against Team Rainbow Rocket. Truly impressive to be able to take your talents from the stage to the battlefield."

Serena smiles a little brighter at the compliment of her battle style and replies in a happy tone "Thank you, we just did what we train every day. It was pretty natural to shift a performance into a battle style because that's what me and my Pokémon love to do."

Wallace chuckles a little at the young girls reasoning and exclaims "I see, that's when a performance is at its best. When it comes from the heart. When something is too scripted it looks robotic and not flowing. You have more fun sometimes when you improvise."

Serena nods as she takes in Wallace's advice. Steven looks at the Alolan champion ahead of him and questions "So Ash, you figured out what your doing next?"

Ash looks at Serena before he turns his head back towards the Hoenn champion and explains "We still need to discuss it together, but whatever it is it'll be to help Serena win in the master class. That has to be our next step."

Serena looks at her boyfriend and gives him a loving smile. She feels really blessed that Ash is willing to take a break from challenging leagues for a bit to help her in her goals. Even if that is what she did for him in her trip to Alola she still feels as though it's nice for him to return the support with no second thought.

Although she's sure they'll be some battles along the way for him for sure. After all, the Alola league performance Serena put on has only increased her popularity and fan base so it makes sense Ash would find someone to battle while their focusing on the masterclass. Even if he doesn't then it'll still be a good chance for Ash to train his pokemon up, ready for some upcoming leagues.

In fact her idea of what they should do next leads right into that. Serena is a little nervous to discuss her idea with Ash and she's a little nervous about actually going through with it but she knows it'll be the best thing for her long term. Once they actually get some peace and quiet she'll definitely bring it up to him.

Steven smiles a little at Ash's previous statement and remarks "That's ver nice of you Ash but make sure you don't slack off on training. I want to battle you in the Hoenn league finals remember."

Ash puts a competitive smirk on his face and exclaims in a fiery tone "I'll be training hard Steven don't you worry about that. When the time comes I'll be more than strong enough to take you down."

Steven chuckles a little at the boys spirit before he gives Ash a competitive look. No more words need to said as Ash and Serena walk off to go and greet Cynthia.

Ash's Pokémon walk past Steven and Wallace next. None of them really have any special interactions with the two apart from Greninja, who shakes Steven's hand as a thanks for his help in the Kalos disaster.

Ash and Serena approach Cynthia who smiles at the two as she watches them walk hand in hand. Ash speaks first as he gestures towards Cynthia and introduces "Serena, this is the Sinnoh champion Cynthia. She's kind of an idol of mine and a really strong trainer. In fact she's probably the strongest champion I've ever seen, well maybe Alain could give her a run for her money now but Cynthia is still unanimously the strongest."

Serena can tell by the tone in Ash's voice and the look in his eyes that Cynthia must be pretty special. For him to admire her so much only speaks volumes about her as a person.

Serena smiles and holds out her other hand towards Cynthia as she introduces "Hi, I'm Serena. Ash's girlfriend, it's nice to finally meet you. Ash has always spoke very highly of you."

Cynthia smiles a little at Serena's polite greeting and shakes Serena's hand as she exclaims "It's nice to finally you too, from what I've seen your quite the special performer. Ash certainly knows how to pick them by the looks of things."

Serena nods as she feels relief wash over her. She is truly happy that Cynthia seems to like her. In truth she was at first a little intimidated by her. Cynthia's taller stature and her choice of outfit give her this overwhelming sense of dominance. At first glance it wouldn't be hard to assume she was someone who would be very cold. However, it is easy for Serena to tell that she is a warm and kind person in truth.

Serena smiles at the Sinnoh champion and replies in a polite tone "Thank you Cynthia, Ash has told me quite a lot about you on our travels, he really does look up to you a lot."

Cynthia laughs and teases "All good things I hope."

Ash answers for Serena as he puts on a competitive look and exclaims "You bet it is! But as much as I've looked up to you, when I rechallange the sinnoh league I'm going to win. I've dreamt it you see."

Cynthia raises an eyebrow and questions "You dreamt it?"

Ash nods and explains in a passionate tone "That's right, I had a dream once that me and Infernape we're battling against you and Garchomp. I told him about it actually and we promised to beat you one day together. Infernape may admire you as well, he never forgot the things you did for him as a Chimchar. You were very kind but he also didn't forget the time you and Garchomp beat him. Sure he may have been Paul's Pokémon back then but he still remembers and he wants to surpass you, as do I."

Cynthia smiles at the young champion's words as she admits "Watching you both grow has been a real blessing for me, I'd be happy for you two surpass me one day."

Ash feels pride come over him as he takes in Cynthia's words. Although that feeling doesn't last long as Cynthia puts a serious expression on her face continues "However, don't think I've not gotten stronger too. I'll be going all out when we face off."

Ash let's a smirk rise to his face as he feels his body burn with determination. He shakes his head and replies simply "I wouldn't have it any other way.

Serena can't help but grin at Ash's clear enthusiasm, it motivates her even more to go all out to achieve her dreams. She always wants to be just as successful as him and vice Versa. It isn't a competition as such, more of a way of making one and other proud.

Serena is soon snapped out of her thoughts as Cynthia turns towards her and exclaims "Serena, take care of Ash and make sure all the fame doesn't go to his head. I need him focused on our battle so he can give me a challenge."

Serena smiles at the older woman and replies with a hint of determination in tone "You can count on me, I wouldn't let anything distract Ash from his goal. I'll keep him physically and mentally safe don't worry."

Cynthia can sense how genuinely strong Serena's feelings for Ash just by how determined she looks to make sure she is happy and well. Even though she's not known Serena long, she can sense a deep history between her and her boyfriend. She can tell by Serena's movements and expressions that she wasn't just here for the fame, she would be the same if Ash was an average trainer and not a champion. She didn't fall in love with a champion, she fell in love with Ash Ketchum the person.

Cynthia turns to Ash with a stern look on her face and warns "Ash, no fangirls okay. You've lucked into a good one there, if I hear your miss behaving there will be consequences."

Ash is taken a back by Cynthia's sudden warning as he gulps a little in fear. He soon regains his composure as he nods and exclaims "I know how lucky I am don't worry. I'll always support Serena in whatever it is she does, we're a team."

Serena feels her heart warm at Ash's words as she squeezes his hand a little tighter.

Cynthia smiles, satisfied with his response, and replies "Good, now go and claim your trophy champion."

Ash smiles at Cynthia's statement and nods in agreement. Him and Serena move on to greet the final champion present, Alain.

Ash walks up to Alain and smirks a little as he teases "You didn't fancy finishing the speech then."

Alain shakes his head with a small noticeable smile as he calmly responds "I think I've set them up well enough off for you."

Ash look behind him to the cheering crowd, eagerly awaiting his words as well as his trophy lift. Ash gives the crowd a quick wave before he turns to Alain and exclaims "Thanks Alain, for being here."

Alain smiles a little at Ash's statement and replies "It's my pleasure Ash."

As Alain speaks to the new Alolan champion he notices Serena's hand grasping Ash's tightly. Alain has known for a long time that something was going on between them but he'd never comfirmed anything before. However, since him and Ash are in good terms and could now be considered friends, he decides to tease him somewhat.

He looks over at Serena and remarks with small smirk "So he finally got it did he."

Serena tilts her head slightly and questions "Yeah he did, but how did you know about that?" She is little taken a back that Alain picked up on their relationship. She thought Alain would be completely clueless to things like this. But then again, she supposes he is that bit older than Ash as well so maybe he is more aware than she thinks.

Alain puts his hands in his pockets as he explains "I could tell as soon as Ash fainted during our second battle. Love may not interest me but I'm not dumb to it as well. Unlike Ash over here"

Serena sighs and complains in a slightly winey tone "Why did everyone figure it out so quick except you Ash!?"

Ash scratches his head nervously as he gulps a little at Serena's tone and remarks "I'm sorry Serena."

Alain feels a little awkward at the fact he's kind of just thrown Ash under the bus. He apologies "I'm sorry for causing you trouble Ash."

Serena shakes her head and smiles as she exclaims in a soft tone "He's not in trouble with me don't worry. As much as it was tough to not have my feelings reciprocated for so long, I wouldn't have changed a thing about it."

Ash takes a sigh of relief and smiles as he adds "And neither would I."

Alain chuckles a little as he looks at the ground and smirks. He shakes his head slightly and exclaims "That's exactly the way I expect you to think Ash. Not looking back on what could have been and instead pushing forward with what you have now. It's what makes you the opponent I desire to battle so much."

Ash smilies at the compliment and remarks "Same with you Alain. The feeling is certainly mutual."

Alain nods and exclaims "Good, by the way, Professor Sycamore called asking how you were Serena. Marin and Bonnie were quite worried about you it seems."

Serena puts a frown on her face, realising she's left a few of her friends in the dark since coming out of her coma. She apologies in a guilty tone "I'm sorry, I've been busy with the whole coma plus ceremony thing. I'll call them first thing tomorrow, I don't want to be a terrible friend."

Alain smiles a little and replies "That's okay, I'll inform the professor. I'll be sure to see them both when I'm back in kalos. I've got some work to do with the professor to find more mega stones, I'll tell you about it some time Ash as I think you'll find it interesting. Also, I've got to get ready for the Kalos league and master class coming up. Being Kalos champion does have its downsides in terms of mandatory events. But Marin is excited for the master class so that is easier to prepare for."

Ash pumps his fist and exclaims That's awesome, well We'll see you there I guess."

Alain nods and replies "I'm sure you will and good luck Serena. I'm supposed to be neutral but you would make a great Kalos queen"

Serena smiles at the compliment and remarks with happiness in her tone "Thanks Alain and say hi to Marin, the professor and everyone else for me."

Alain smiles a little and nods as Ash and Serena walk off to receive the medals from Professor Burnet.

Ash's Pokémon all walk past Alain, fairly nonchalantly apart from Greninja who stops in front and offers a hand out to Alain. Greninja respects Alain's strength as a trainer, he'd never find a trainer better than Ash for him but he does admit Alain is on the same level of him in terms of skill.

Alain shakes Greninja's hand and exclaims "Me too Greninja. I respect you power immensely." Greninja nods and walks off to join the rest of the group.

Ash next approaches Burnet who is giving out the winners medals. She smiles as she sees Ash approaching and exclaims "Your still full of surprises."

Ash smiles as he shakes his head and replies "This was Serena's surprise this time. It has nothing to do with me."

Burnet shakes her head and elaborates "That's what I mean, you both surprise me."

Ash smiles at the comment and exclaims "Thanks professor, this wouldn't be possible without you."

Burnet smiles at the teenage boy she's loved having around for the last several months and remarks "Enjoy this Ash, you've earned it."

Ash lowers his head as Burnet puts a gold winners medal over his head. She does the same with Pikachu who sits on Ash's shoulder. Pikachu holds the medal in his hands and let's out a happy "Pika!!"

Ash smiles at his old friend as the two think about how far they've come to get this point. Ash rubs Pikachu's head and remarks "It feels good right buddy." Pikachu nods and let's off a happy coo at his trainers touch.

Ash smiles once more at Burnet before walking off to go and get the trophy from professor Kukui.

Serena approaches Burnet next with a small grin on her face. Burnet let's off a joyful smile at the sight of the honey blonde girl and exclaims "It's great to see you up and about again."

Serena smiles at the professor kind greeting and replies "Thank you." The two give each other a soft gentle embrace before Serena takes a step back.

Burnet takes a good look at Serena's new outfit and compliments "There it is again, that famous Serena fashion sense. I love it."

Serena smiles at the compliment and exclaims "Thank you, but the outfit is actually Ash's idea. The boots, the jewellery and the hair was all me though."

Burnet raises an eyebrow in shock and remarks "Wow Ash having a fashion sense, who knew?"

Serena giggles a little and exclaims "I know, maybe I need to drag him shopping more often especially when we're next in lumiose city. Not only can he be my personal bag carrier but he can also help pick out outfits. He may not like the sound of it but I know he loves watching me try on outfits so he'll get some enjoyment out of it."

The two girls laugh at the idea before Burnet takes a sigh and replies "I wish I had you here before the wedding. You could have saved me a lot of work in planning. I totally would have loved your fashion and decorative skills."

Serena sighs a regretful sigh as she admits "Me too, I would have loved to see a proper wedding. But I'm sure it was beautiful anyway. Ash said it was great to me on the phone."

Burnet smiles at the memory of her marriage and exclaims "It was perfect, best day of my life in fact, apart from a bit of damage caused when Gary beat Kiawe in a battle and then celebrated after a bit wildly. But he got the party going that's for sure."

Serena laughs imagining the scenes Gary caused at the wedding.

Her mind drifts as she can only imagine how perfect her wedding with Ash will be.

"Walking down the isle dressed in a beautiful wedding dress that fits my body perfectly. Ash wearing a smart suit while our friends and family watch on. Holding hands as we look into each other's eyes and say our vows. Pouring our hearts out into a promise never to abandon each other. Putting our rings on each other's fingers with nerves and excitement. The relief when the priest pronounces us as husband and wife. Throwing myself at Ash as we kiss with all of our friends cheering in the background as our mom's shed a tear. I'll break apart and realise that I'm married to Ash Ketchum and that I'm officially known as Mrs Serena Ketchum."

WAIT WHAT!!!!"

"Serena why the hell do you even think about these things at times like these! We're not even engaged, hell we've been dating for not even a year yet! Plus we're literally only 17 why am I thinking like this!"

Serena shakes off her day dreaming fantasy and exclaims "Well I'll stop holding up the queue. Ash's Pokémon deserve their medals."

Burnet frowns at Serena's statement and remarks "As do you Serena." She reaches out behind her and takes a medal off the table.

Serena raises her eyebrow and questions "Why me? I didn't compete."

Burnet shakes her head and explains "Serena you were such a big help in starting off the tournament with your performance in the first place. Then you were amazing during that courtyard battle. You really did defeat the most grunts apart from Gary and Paul but those guys are seriously talented at battling, up there at the level off an elite 4 member. Then you saved Ash from Mewtwo. Plus if it wasn't for you, there's no way Ash would have won the Alola league. You were probably the main reason he won. He'd constantly look to you when he was nervous or in a tight spot during a battle. Not mention the little incident during the semi finals the security informed us of."

Serena thinks for a minute before makes up her mind and accepts the medal. Although Ash was the main reason for this victory, she did help keep him in check. Serena would never want any praise for that, it's just what she'd do to be a good girlfriend as Ash would do in reverse. But as Ash said earlier, they're a team and as a team they share each others victory's and losses. As well as their goals, dreams, the praise and hate that may come with that.

Burnet places the medal around the honey blonde's neck. Serena beams a small and thanks Burnet, before she leaves to join Ash with Kukui.

Ash's Pokémon all walk up to Burnet and each individually receive their medals which are placed around their necks, even Exeggutor who comedically loweres his head to receive his medal.

Greninja and Charizard think about passing up their medals as they weren't involved in the league itself but Professor Burnett convinces them that this medal is for their work in helping stop Team Rainbow Rocket . In the end Greninja and Charizard take their medals but both promise to themselves that one day they'll be receiving a medal for winning a league of their own merit.

Ash approaches Kukui as a massive smile creeps on his face, seeing the trophy he's finally going to get to lift.

Ash walks up and shakes Kukui's hand as he exclaims "Thank you professor, for all this."

Kukui smiles at the raven haired trainer and replies in a joyful tone "Its the least we could do for the new champ."

Ash smiles upon hearing himself be called a champ and exclaims in a determined tone "It's an honour to be the champion of this region, I promise I won't let you down."

Kukui smiles and replies in a sure tone "I know you won't, you never have."

The professor turns around and takes the massive gold trophy off the table before he holds it forward towards Ash.

Ash smiles and takes the trophy into his hands as the crowd starts do a little drumroll in anticipation. Ash looks at the trophy in his hands and feels a sense of accomplishment come over him. He looks back at Serena smiling at him in encouragement with the rest of his Pokémon stood with her.

As Ash looks at them he realises exactly how he wants to lift up his first trophy. He takes the trophy and walks over to Serena and the rest, much to everyone's surprise.

Serena raises an eyebrow in suspicion and exclaims "Ash go and lift the trophy, the crowd are waiting for you!"

Ash shakes his head and looks at Serena with a massive happy grin. He holds the trophy towards her and replies "No not me, us. We're all going to lift this one, the first one together."

Serena gasps a little in shock at Ash's statement and questions in an unsure tone "Are you sure Ash?"

Ash nods and smiles reassuringly at his girlfriend as he confirms "I wouldn't want to do it any other way."

Serena smiles, feeling really blessed that her boyfriend wants to share his moment with her. She nods and replies in an upbeat tone "Okay then Ash, let's do it."

Ash smiles at Serena's statement and mentally cheers. He leads the group to the centre of the stage so they can do the trophy lift in the best possible place. When they reach the centre, Ash puts the trophy out in front off him, holding it by the left handle with one hand.

Serena places her hand and the other side handle, parallel to him. Pikachu runs out over Ash's arm and places a paw on the same handle at Ash.

Incineroar walks over and grips the bottom of it with his big paw. Kommo-o does the same thing placing a claw on the bottom of the trophy.

Lycanroc walks up and holds himself on his hind legs, placing a front paw on the side of the trophy.

Toucannon flies up and puts a wing on the top of the trophy.

Exeggcutor decides the easiest way to do this is to lower his head and wrap the lower part of his neck around the base of the trophy.

Charizard and Greninja stay stood back as they didn't win this so don't want to introde on the trophy lift. Ash smiles reassuringly at them both and encourages "You two as well, come on over. Without you two we'd never have beaten Team Rainbow Rocket so we'd never have gotten the chance to lift this. You deserve this as much as anyone."

Greninja and Charizard aren't quite convinced this is there's to lift but they decide in the end that if it's what Ash wants they should do it. After all they both don't want to let their trainer down in any way. Greninja and Charizard both walk up and place a hand on either side of the trophy.

The crowd rise in anticipation as the atmosphere only builds as the people of Alola prepare to officially crown their first champion.

Ash smiles at the reaction and announces "On three guys!"

Serena beams a smile at her boyfriend and starts "One!"

Ash puts on an excited face and continues "Two!"

The Pokémon all let off their own individual cries signalling three.

Ash and the gang nod and smile brightly before they raise the trophy high into the air as the crowd errupts into applause. The reaction nearly shakes the stage with the cheers for their new champion while the golden trophy glistens up in the air.

Ash looks up to the trophy and takes in the crowds reaction. He feels a sense of achievement and belonging come over him as he takes it all in. Those times were he felt down and depressed feel so long ago now. All the pain he went through along the way to winning his first Pokémon league feels so distant now. The journey has certainly been a long one full of twists and turns but the pay off in the end has been so worth it.

Ash takes a deep breath and whispers to himself "I promise this will be the first of many."

Serena smiles lovingly at her boyfriend, seeing Ash get his recognition for all his achievements and the clear happiness plastered on his face.

They all lower the trophy down as Ash takes the trophy in his hands and, with Pikachu on his shoulder, makes his way to the pedestal to begin his speech to the region. All his Pokémon stand behind him as Serena stands a little off to the side to let Ash conduct his speech in peace.

Ash takes a big deep breath as he looks out into the sold out crowd. He takes a second to compose himself before he begins his speech. "Wow, I never thought that this many people would show up to see me be crowned as champion. It's pretty surreal I have to say. Um, this is the first time I've done this sort of thing before so forgive me if this isn't the best speech ever. I actually had something prepared but that wouldn't be right to read off a script. So I'm just going to speak straight from the heart."

The crowd lets off a little applause at the fact their champion will be speaking his honest thoughts.

Serena beams a smile at Ash's statement and places a hand on her blue ribbon. It's exactly what she'd hope he'd do. When Ash speaks from the heart it's genuine, powerful and people can't help but listen. He has such a way with words that she finds so captivating and honestly attractive. She bubbles a little with anticipation as she awaits for him to continue.

Ash takes a second to think of the words he wants to say before he continues "I'd like to thank first all of my friends, not just those sat behind me but everyone who's helped me get this far. It doesn't matter if they were a travelling companion or a rival, either way you've all helped me a lot. Next I'd like to thank my Pokémon for all their hard work. Without all of you there is no way I'd have been able to get this far. I know some of you are desperate to get back on the battlefield and trust me we will soon. I'd also like to thank my mom obviously, for believing in me from the start and for always being there when I needed her. I also want to thank Professor Oak for giving me my first Pokémon, Pikachu here, who's been by my side through thick and thin for almost 8 years now. I'd also like to thank all the people of Alola for making me feel at home here and accepting me as your first champion. I'm very proud to be your champion and I promise I won't let any of you down."

The crowd applauds the young champion as Ash braces himself for the next part of his speech. "Alola is an awesome place with great people and Pokémon. I've met many friends here and some I'd even call family. It's a place I'll always love but unfortunately, all good things have to come to an end."

The crowd all gasp in shock and murmur in disappointment at the new champion's potential departure.

Ash chuckles a little at the crowds reaction and reassures the Alolan public "Oh don't worry, I'm not abandoning ship quite the opposite actually. I'll still be the Alolan champion and I'll be back to defend my title should someone challenge me next year. The reason I need to kept moving is because my dream is to be more than a champion but to be a Pokémon master!"

The crowd all erupt into cheers and stamp their feet in support of Ash's ambitions goal.

Ash smiles at the crowd's reaction before he exclaims "I know it's not going to be easy to do it. I'm going to have to beat some of the strongest trainers in the world, including the ones sat behind me. But I believe in my Pokémon and we'll never give up till it's over."

The crowd applaudes and woooows at Ash's statement as the region shows their appreciation for their first champion. Serena looks at Ash and smiles warmly at him upon hearing their iconic line. It may be just that for the crowd but for her, Ash and all their Pokémon, it's a way off life.

As Serena smiles at Ash, the raven haired trainer smiles back before subtly gesturing for her to join him at the pedestal.

Serena hesitates a little as he she knows what her boyfriend wants to do. He wants to reveal their relationship to the world.

It was something she knew was going to happen after the league but now that it is here, she is a little hesitant to go through with it.

However, she knows now that this is the perfect time to reveal it. The world's watching, their friends are all behind them and if anyone doesn't approve then Greninja and Charizard will send them back to the Hisui age with a quick water shuriken or seismic toss.

Serena smiles and nods to Ash as she approaches the pedestal. She takes his hand and squeezes it tightly as she awaits for Ash to take the lead. Ash smiles at her again, getting lost in her beautiful blue eyes for a second, before turning to the crowd who wait anxiously with anticipation clear on their faces.

Meanwhile in Pallet town, Delia watches with a confused look on her face as she watches Serena join Ash at the pedestal. Something is definitely off in her eyes at this point. Arriving together and holding hands was something she expected but something about this now seems different.

Ash takes a deep breath and whispers to himself "Here we go." Serena gives him a reassuring smile that fills him with confidence as he squeezes her hand.

He looks into the crowds and exclaims with clear love in his tone "I have just one more thing I'd like to say before we kick off the celebration. There has been one person throughout my whole journey who has stood out and been my biggest strength. She already knows who she is and how much special to me she is, but I'm going to tell you all anyway just why she's so perfect. But before I start, sorry Mom and sorry Grace, if you hadn't figured it out yet I'm sorry."

In the Kalos region, Grace chuckles a little and exclaims "It's about time you come clean, I don't think anyone close to either of you wouldn't have figured it out by now."

In Pallet town, Delia tilts her head in confusion and questions "Apologies for what Ash? And who is this Grace person?"

Ash continues his speech with his loving tone only increasing by the second "The girl I'm talking about I met when I was just 8, by a tree while she was lost in the forest. Little did I know what she would do for me and how much she would eventually mean to me. 7 years later, when I arrived in the kalos region we met up again and suddenly I felt strength like never before. We traveled the region and she was always there for me to light up those dark days, to make those nerves disappear and to help me stay grounded. She would make in the gloomiest of skies look bright in my eyes. After our journey we split up and I was sad to see her go but I had no idea why. Then it hit me 6 months later, I was in love with her!"

Delia leaps off her seat and screams "Wait in Love!?"

Ash carries on with a smile only increasing on his face "Skipping to my journey in Alola when we eventually met up again, although this time it was completely planned. By that time we had already confessed and were now dating. She helped me through the Alola league, giving me just what I needed to pull through and take the win. Without her there's no way I'd have this trophy. She then literally saved my life when Mewtwo was attacking me by putting my health before her own. I've never felt so fond of someone in all my life and I know I never will again. She is perfect in my eyes in every way and I strive to make her smile everyday and do that little cute giggle I love so much."

Serena takes a loving sigh and squeezes Ash's hand tighter. She already knew that Ash thought all this about her but to hear again is always nice.

Ash brightly smiles as he gazes at his girlfriend and finishes "That very girl is the one still beside me right now. If you don't know by now then I'll say it straight up because I can't hide my love for her from you all any longer. Serena Yvonne is that girl, the one I love."

"WHAAAAAATTTTTTTT!!!!!"

Delia let's off an ear piercing scream in shock of Ash's announcement as she leaps from her sofa. She blinks a few times and mutters in disbelief "Ash has a girlfriend."

She blinks a few more times and mutters again "My son has a girlfriend."

She pinches herself in disbelief to confirm she is actually not dreaming before she squeals and shouts "Ash has a girlfriend!"

Delia instantly takes off as she dances all around her house while exclaiming things like.

"Ash has a girlfriend."

"I can't believe this is happening!"

"I thought he was dense!"

"How long have they been dating!"

"Am I still dreaming!"

She runs all around her house like a kid in a candy store, completely overwhelmed by her son's news. She finds her self doing a full lap of her house, much to mimey's confusion, before she stops back by the tv.

As she reaches the tv, the camera zooms in to show Ash and Serena stood together.

Hearts instantly appear in Delia's eyes as she screams "OMA THEY LOOK SO CUTE TOGETHER!!!"

She specifically focuses on Serena as she gazes at Ash's partner. She instantly become a little overwhelmed by the whole situation as she shouts in an ecstatic tone "I JUST REALISED ITS SERENA HE'S DATING! HIS CHILDHOOD FRIEND!! NOT ONLY IS SHE SUCH A SWEET GIRL BUT SHE'S DROP-DEAD GORGEOUS!!!"

Realising who Ash's girlfriend actually is ends up being too much for Ash's mother. She begins to feel a little faint as she stumbles and falls backwards onto her sofa as Mimey rushes over to treat her.

Meanwhile in the Alola region, the crowd errupt into explosive cheers and go crazy at the announcement of the new celebrity couple.

There are of course a few jealous fan boys and girls of the pair who look less than impressed that their celebrity crushes are now taken. However, they aren't really in a position to do anything as Greninja forms a few shurikens in his hand while Charizard cracks his knuckles while glaring at them.

Ash smiles at the crowd's overwhelmingly positive reaction as he pulls Serena closer and drapes a hand over her waist. The two give each other a happy smile, both clearly happy with the reaction received.

Ash grabs the microphone and holds it to his mouth with his other hand as he jokes "Yes I know huge shock right. Don't think there was anyone dense enough to not realise that, well apart from me of course."

The crowd laugh at Ash's humour as he breaks the ice so to speak. Ash gives the laughter a second to die down before he continues "Anyway, I'm sure you've all got plenty more questions about everything. I was pretty vague on just how much we've been through together. If I went into detail on everything then this speech would never end. But don't worry, we've got an interview with Alexa of the Lumiose times ready to go live so that should clear up some confusion. Me and Serena will be taking some time to get ready for the master class in kalos but don't worry, we'll be there and we're going to win for sure. Now enough about us, let us begin the celebration!"

Ash puts down the microphone and goes to walk away from the pedestal. However, he is soon stopped in his tracks when the crowd starts to chant "Kiss, kiss, kiss, kiss!"

Ash looks at Serena with a questioning look as he wonders wether they should do it. While he usually doesn't wait for permission to kiss Serena due to the fact she's already given her consent to be kissed whenever he wants. However, considering they are in a public place and in front of a crowd, it only feels right to ask for permission.

Serena notices her boyfriend's look and takes a step closer to him. She lets her instincts take over as she reaches forward and grabs him by the collar of his jacket. She pulls him down towards her and slams her lips into his in a passionate manner.

Ash smiles before he puts his arms around Serena to support her up while returning the kiss. The two close their eyes and let their lips do the talking as they engage in their signature dance. The two block out their surroundings and just focus on each other as they continue to make out with a kiss of pure love.

"EEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!"

Delia squeals as she looks up at the screen to see her son kissing his girlfriend. She springs up from the sofa and gazes at the tv with hearts in eyes.

Unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you see it. The cuteness overload becomes too much for Mes Ketchum as she faints on the spot and collapses to the floor.

Mimey sighs and prepares the defibrillator to revive her once again.

Back in the Alola region. The crowd errupts with noise as they watch the amour couple engage each other's lips. Some of the press take pictures and snap the two in the action. It'll make quite the front page for sure, not like Ash or Serena care about that. Their fame is just something that comes with the terrority of their jobs. It's not something they really want or care for though, if anything it's just another challenge to overcome.

After holding out for as long as possible, Ash and Serena break apart from their loving kiss and smile at each over while in their joint embrace.

Ash looks into Serena's eyes and exclaims, bearly hearable due to the noise, "I love you Serena."

Serena sinks into her boyfriend's secure arms and replies "I love you too Ash."

The two separate slightly and wrap their arms around each other, leaving one free to wave to the cheering crowd. They turn around to see their friends and Pokémon applauding for them with smiles on their faces.

A few seconds later, music begins to symbolise the start of the celebrations. 

As the music being and the celebrations kick off, Ash knows exactly what he has to do. He has to get some pictures for his room to commemorate the moment.

Firstly he takes a picture with Serena and all her and his Pokémon as one big group. He then gets one with all his Pokémon and Serena. Next he gets a picture with his 8 Pokémon he has present with him.

Next he gets one with just his Alola team of 6, considering they are the ones who have competed in the Alola league and won the trophy. He then takes one individually with all his Pokémon.

He naturally gets one with Pikachu on his shoulder together as they pose with the trophy.

Another one with Incineroar as the two do a little wrestling pose.

The next One with Lyacnroc as Ash gives him a scratch right under his chin.

He moves on to getting a picture with Toucannon before moving onto Exeggutor as the dragon type gets a picture with a silly grin on his face.

He finally finishes off his Alolan team photo shoot as he snaps a photo with Kommo-o.

Next he gets an individual one with Charizard which Ash really appreciates, getting to share the moment with his first powerhouse as the two smile with a hand each on the trophy.

Ash and Greninja get a picture together with them both mimicking each other's poses completely by coincidence as they stand with one hand on the trophy and the other pointing a finger towards one and other.

Ash and Serena then get a decide to get a picture together. Ash cherishes this picture so much to the point where they end up taking more than one as they try and find the perfect picture. In the end they settle one of then both having a hand on the trophy as they lean over and kiss. As they both see the photo back they can only describe it in one word, perfect!"

After his extensive photo shoot with Serena, Ash decides it's time to get some with his travelling companions.

He gets a nice one of: Him, Serena, Kiawe, Mallow and Lillie next first which is essentially with Alolan friends.

He then moves on and gets one of him and his 3 students individually and as a group.

He then decides to get one with the professors next as he gets a picture taken of: Him, Serena, Kukui and burnet.

He moves on from the professor and decides to get some pictures with just the Aether family as well. He even somehow manages to get Gladion to take one with him individually.

He then moves onto Misty and Brock, taking one with his two oldest companions and then taking one with them individually. He makes sure to make those pictures feel special as well. He feels as though the two who gave him his start deserved a special mention and a good photo to mark the occasion.

Ash then turns his attention to the champions, more in hope than anything. However, to his surprise, they all seem happy to oblige to his request.

First he takes one with Steven and Wallace then Steven individually. Next he moves onto Cynthia. Ash makes sure to make this a good one that he can definitely hang on his wall.

Finally he takes one with Alain. The two of them have formed a pretty strong friendship at this point so they make sure to get a good picture as well.

Finally everyone gets together for one big group picture. Ash obviously makes sure to have Serena stand as close as possible to him. Pikachu sits on his shoulder as his Pokémon all stand near as well.

Finally, now that the pictures are taken care of, it is time to start the celebration part of this coronation.

The first thing everyone does is send out their remaining Pokémon to enjoy the party. Ash's Pokémon take it upon themselves to start to greet the others.

Charizard and Pikachu instantly go to Misty and Brock's Pokémon to say hello and reunite with some of their old travelling companions. Pikachu climbs onto Charizards shoulder as they say hello to: Steelix, Croagunk, Geodude, Blissey, Marshstomp and Crobat from Brock's side. As well as: Gyarados, Starmie, Psyduck, Corsola, Staryu and Politoed from Misty's side.

Serena's Kalos pokemon instantly recognise Greninja and run over to greet him with the rest of her pokemon not far behind.

Upon future inspection, Sylveon and Pancham are a little startled to see just how strong and strern Greninja looks now after his time with Zygarde. At the same time Braxien remembers her argument with Greninja a few weeks ago and instantly becomes a little nervous.

However, intimidation felt by Pancham and Sylveon instantly changes when Greninja cracks a familiar smile.

Pancham beams a smile as he realises Greninja is still just one of his old friends. He punps his fist and shouts "Pan, Cham!" Before he jumps
up onto Greninja's shoulder.

Greninja smiles and nods at the panda Pokémon as he excitedly greets the ninja frog Pokémon. Greninja is happy to see him to. He could recognise Pancham's usual robust and troublesome personality from a mile away.

It is definitely still in tact to say the least but Greninja somewhat admires his care free approach to life. It kind of reminds him of Hawlucha in a way and the way he has fun during battles.

Next to greet him is Sylveon. She walks up to the ninja frog pokemon and extends her ribbon feelers as the two shake hands. Greninja can't help but smile, seeing the small shy Eevee now a fully evolved confident Sylveon.

The next to greet him is a new Pokémon Greninja has never seen before, a Brionne. Greninja is very happy to meet her and to see Serena with a water type on her team. He knows form experience that water types can be a huge asset to her team. Brionne does her usual little dance before she extends a fin towards Greninja. He smiles before he shakes it with his hand.

Next Greninja spots a small yellow Pokémon looking at him nervously. Greninja lets out a small chuckle to himself, seeing the shy female Pikachu in front.

Ash's Pikachu spots his adopted child's fear and decides to help her out. He runs over and takes the small Pikachu's hand. He reassuringly smiles at her and encourages her to go and meet Greninja. His exact words are "He may look scary but he's actually a lot like Ash."

Greninja feels pride upon hearing those words, he always aspires to be like his trainer so hearing Pikachu say that is a big deal to him.

Sylveon takes her adopted child's other hand into her ribbon feeler and gives off a reassuring smile.
Baby Pikachu let's off a cute smile at her parents encouragement before the 3 of them walk towards Greninja while the baby holds both their hands.

Pikachu introduces the baby to Greninja as his daughter which makes Sylveon feel giddy and makes Greninja let off a small smile.

The baby looks at the powerful ninja frog in front of her and lets off a small timid "Pika." Greninja smiles as he takes a knee to get closer to the baby's height before extending his hand forward in a greeting.

Baby Pikachu looks a little nervous at first as she turns her head away. Ash's Pikachu gives her reassuring smile and encourages her again that Greninja is not going to hurt her.

Baby Pikachu takes a breath before she turns around and gives Greninja a small handshake. After a few seconds, she beams a smile and jumps up onto his shoulder just like Pancham did earlier. She realises he really was similar to Ash in a way. Greninja smiles at the baby Pokémon on his shoulder as Pikachu and Sylveon look on with proud looks on their faces.

The baby leaps off into her fathers arms as her parents take her off to greet more guests.

The next Pokémon that approaches Greninja is Absol. Greninja can instantly sense a strong pink aura emanating from Absol. A weak one compared to his sure, but any pokemon who can use aura is interesting to the ninja frog.

Absol approaches and bows a little as she thanks ninja frog for his help. Greninja nods seriously as absol turns away and walks off.

The last to approach Greninja is the one that he was easily the most nervous about after their fight a few weeks back. Braxien approaches Greninja with a nervous look on her face and mutters "Braix, Braixen, Braix." Which translates to "Greninja, I'm sorry."

She really isn't sure how he'll react to her apology, truth is she regrets what she called him and only hopes she will accept how sorry she is.

Greninja smiles at her and croaks back "Ninja, gren, nin, ja." Which translates to "And I'm sorry for shouting at you the way I did. Guess you could say we were both in the wrong. Do you want to start over.

Braixen beams a smile at Greninja's statement and nods her head yes. She lets her emotions take control of her as she takes off and runs towards Greninja before locking him in a tight hug. Greninja's eyes widen for a second at the sudden embrace before he smiles and hugs Braixen back.

As The two embrace, Ash looks over and can't help smile, seeing his partner reunite with his friends. It's nice to see everyone reunite even if it is only going to be temporary.

Music blares through the speakers as the crowd starts to sing and dance, it was a real festival atmosphere by this point as the people of Alola celebrated not only the crowning of their first champion, but also their freedom from Team Rainbow Rocket.

A few minutes into the party, Ash notices that Serena is starting to look a little pained as she walks around while clutching her sides. He can tell she is struggling so decides to set up a table with some chairs around it for her to sit on. He then takes to over to the table and sits her down at the table to rest.

Serena smiles as she feels her heart warm at her boyfriend's caring actions. She settles into her chair and mutters "Thank you Ash."

Ash smiles and replies in an upbeat tone "It's no problem Serena, I've got to make sure your ready to be Kalos queen right?"

Serena blushes slightly at her boyfriend's statement as he leans in to give him a sweet peck on the cheek.

Ash smiles at his girlfriend and pecks her forehead in return before he makes his way to the front of the stage and starts to hype up the crowd.

Many of his Pokémon do the same as well, except for Charizard and Greninja who stand with some other the other powerhouse Pokémon present, comparing their strength. At one point Ash's and Alain's Charizards have a battle of flamethrowers that ends in a draw.

Some of the pokemon get involved in dancing to the music and start to shoot off performance style attacks. Naturally Serena's Pokémon are very impressive to no one's suprise as they begin stealing the show, apart from Absol who instead suts at her trainers feet to keep her company.

The crowd tries copying the performance style attacks to mix success as Wallace decides it's time to try and steal the show as he puts
on a majestic performance with his Milotic. The crowd erupts into applause upon seeing the contest guru's show as Wallace stands at the front of the stage and bows to the crowd.

Serena sighs in disappointment, watching on from her table. she's happy that everyone is having fun but she is a little upset that she can't perform. The crowd and atmosphere are she set up perfect for her to do want she loves. Watching her Pokémon try without her to do their routines without someone to bring it all together, only makes things worse.

Ash notices Serena's troubled look and walks over to the table to join her. He takes a seat next to her and questions in a soft tone "Hey Serena, you look really down. The pain isn't too bad is it? If you want us to go home now then I totally understand."

Serena sighs and shakes her head as she mutters in a down time "I'm fine Ash, don't worry."

Suddenly the music changes as Serena's face lights up hearing the tune. However a few seconds later she slumps down and feels gloomy again.

The music Ash recognises straight away, it was the backing tune to one of Serena's performance themes she likes to use in some of the early rounds of a showcase. Ash may be dumb and dense but even for him it's not hard to put two and two together.

Ash looks at his girlfriend and questions "You want to perform right?"

Serena nods sadly as her bottom lip starts to quiver. She looks at the ground and mutters in a sad tone "Yeah I really want to try and perform."

She looks up at her boyfriend with desperate puppy dog eyes and pleads "Just one small performance please. It'll only be one I promise. I'll only use one, maybe two moves that's it. Please Ash."

Ash smiles reassuringly and shakes his head at he rpleading. He takes her hand and replies in a soft tone "Serena, you don't need my permission to perform. If you feel up to it then it's okay. I'm your boyfriend not your mom."

Serena beams a smile at Ash's response and begins to feel giddy with excitement. However, her face soon drops into concern again as her self doubt kicks in again.

She looks to the floor and questions in a solemn tone "But what if I can't and I look a fool in front of the crowd. What if I hurt myself even more. It'll be a complete waste of time."

Ash chuckles at little at Serena's commment as he thinks to himself "Did she seriously forget."

Serena sees Ash laughing at her and begins to feel anger rise up at her boyfriend. She folds her arms and shouts with venom in her voice "Why are you laughing at me! I'm really torn about what to do Ashton and your antics aren't helping!"

Ash catches his laughter in an attempt to not further piss Serena off. He smiles at her and questions in a knowing tone "Do you remember what I said on the steps in Gloria city."

Serena thinks back for half a second before a beaming smile replaces her previous frown. She pumps her fist and shouts "Nothing I do is a waste of time as long as I learn from it!"

Ash smiles brightly hearing his girlfriend remember his advice as he exclaims "You see, even if it goes wrong we'll know where your at now. Then we can move from there and see how long we've got to go to get you back to full fitness. We're going to make sure your ready for the masterclass no matter what."

Serena smiles and looks into Ash's eyes lovingly, feeling so blessed to have him help her through every stage of her recovery. She lunges forward and locks him in hug as she screams "Your the best Ash!"

Ash laughs nervously as he carefully embraces her back and replies "I wish I was but your the best already. Number 2 wouldn't be bad though and I guess that would make me your number 1 right?"

Serena giggles at her boyfriend's ridiculous statement before he leans in and gives him a sweet peck on the lips.

The two separate, as Serena look at the ground to see Absol still lying at her feet. She decides it may be a good time to ask her if she's ready.

She looks down at Absol with a sweet smile and questions in a soft tone "Absol, would you like to perform with me?"

Absol think it over for a second and considers the offer but ultimately decides she's not ready as she shakes her head no.

Serena sighs a little at Absol's continued rejection before she puts a smile back on her face and remarks "Oh well, that's okay Absol. Maybe next time."

She looks up the stage and notices Braxien dancing off to the side. She smiles and exclaims "Braixen, want to give them a little performance."

Braixen nods and gives off a happy "Braixen Braix!!" Serena smiles at her pokemon before she stands up and playfully winks to Ash.

She makes her way to Braixen and exclaims "Let's test out that new combination move of ours." Braixen nods in agreement as the music kicks up a notch.

Serena puts on a determined look and shouts "Right let's do this!" The two take centre stage as the crowd waits in anticipation for Serena's performance.

Braxien takes out her wand and holds it in the air. Serena grabs hold of it too as they hoist it above their head. Serena smiles as she commands "Now braixen flamethrower."

Braixen nods as she sets the wand alight, sending a massive flamethrower into the sky. The two start to spin together, causing the flames to twirl elegantly through the air. The flames spin around each over and begin to merge together in the air as Serena's plan forms into shape. Suddenly the flames finish merging as they form a red fiery star in the night sky.

The crowd cheers in awe of the sight as the star illuminates in the Alolan night sky. The adrenaline of being on stage once again numbs Serena's pain, she decides to push herself further and finish this off by taking it up notch.

She smiles and exclaims "Braxien, use fire Blast and throw the stick in the air." Braxien nods as she twirls her wand around to prepare a fire blast in its usual unique shape. Serena and Braxien throw the stick high into the air, as the stick disappears into the firey star. Suddenly the fire blast shoots off from inside the fiery star. The impact of the fire blast causes the star to burst, sending red and organge fireworks spreading
into the Alolan night sky. The crowd let off a small ooos as they watch the fireworks go off in the sky, mesmerised by their beauty.

Serena and Braxien jump up in unison and catch the falling stick before landing gracefully holding it above their head in a pose. Serena winks and shouts "Ta Da! And that's it!"

The crowd roars as Serena and Braixen start to curtsy and wave to the crowd. Serena feels relief relief wash over her, as soon as she got moving the pain almost disappeared completely. She curtsy's one more time to the crows before she turns around goes to walk away.

However at that moment, she suddenly feels as sharp pain sting her ribs like someone is twisting a knife through her abdomen.

She feels breathless and her knees start to buckle. Her legs feel like jelly from the sudden spike in pain as her balance starts waiver. No longer able to stand up, she begins to fall backwards with no way of staying on her feet.

Exhaustion sets in as Serena begins to feel faint and and in a world of pain. Her legs completely give way as she completely loses all ability to stand up for a second.

She looks certain to smack into the floor with no way to stop herself when suddenly, Ash reaches out and catches her just as she was about to fall.

Ash holds Serena in his arms and looks down at her with a reassuring smile. He holds her up and exclaims "Serena that performance was awesome."

Serena can't speak through the pain as she pants desperately trying to catch her breath. Inside however she is happy with Ash's compliment of her performance. She thought he was going to say something snarky like I told you so but instead she's joyed he went down the route of encouraging her.

Ash notices his girlfriend's situation and moves a strand of her honey blonde hair back as he whispers in a calm tone "It's okay Serena don't worry, take your time and calm down."

Serena pants a little more before she manages to catch her breath. She is still in immense pain however as she dares not to speak just yet in case she loses breath.

Ash smiles a cheery smile at her again as a sort of congratulations for getting her breath back. Serena is given strength by Ash's smile while feeling safe and secure in his arms. Yes she's still hurt but it's not all bad with Ash there to help her through this. She knows it's going to be tough to get back to her full strength but having her own personal assistant to help her through this is definitely going to help.

Ash gives Serena a second longer to recover before he remarks in a positive tone "There we go, that was pretty good for a first performance. We just need to take our time and make you strong enough again. Baby steps that's what it is.

Serena smiles and nods to her boyfriend, feeling encouraged. His words are just what she needs to hear and he's 100% right in what he's saying. She was in a coma less than 24 hours ago so to be able to perform at all is pretty special.

Ash pecks Serena's forehead sweetly before he exclaims "Come on let's go and get you some water, can you walk back to the table."

Serena adjusts her self and tries to stand back up but can't seem to keep her balance. She looks up to Ash and frowns as she shakes her head no.

Ash smiles at her pouty face and remarks "Okay then, looks like I'll have to carry you."

Without a second thought, Ash scoops Serena's legs up and carries her bridal style. The crowd break out into small cheers as they watch the Alolan champion carry his princess. Serena hears the cheers and blushes a rosy red in embarrassment as she buries her head into Ash's chest.

The two make their way to the table as Ash sets Serena down gently on her chair. Ash then gets her a glass of water and exclaims "Here, we need to make sure your drinking enough water. It'll help you get better."

Serena obliges to Ash's request as she picks up the water and takes a swig. Instantly she feels refreshed and a little better. She smiles at her boyfriend and manages to whisper out a breathless "Thank you Ash."

Ash takes a seat next to Serena and wraps an arm around her for comfort. He rubs her shoulder a little and replies "It's no problem at all. You were great up there, even with broken ribs you out performed everyone up on that stage."

Serena takes another sip of water and feels her strength coming back. She sighs and whispers in a downed tone "Thanks but I won't be able to win the master class with a performance like that."

Ash smiles reassuringly and encourages his girlfriend "Hey we weren't expecting a masterclass winning performance just yet. Your still recovering, give it some time then you'll be ready. I promise I'll be there to help you every step of the way."

Serena smiles as her heart warms at Ash's words. She can't help but feel confidence despite her condition. Ash just has a way of inspiring her, to make her feel as though she can do anything."

She smiles back and puts her head on his shoulder. She settles into the comfort of his shoulder and whispers "Thank you Ash, for taking such good care of me."

Ash rests his head on her's gently and feels a warmth cover him. He replies in a knowing tone "I'm just returning the favour, remember how you took care of me when I had a fever?"

Serena's eyes widen a little as she remembers back to that faithful day. A day full of confusion, worry, embarrassment and in the end, happiness. She questions with shock in her tone "I thought you were delirious so you didn't remember anything about the whole morning."

Ash smiles a little as he remembers back to that day and explains "I remember hearing your voice when I was in bed. I also remember the cold cloth on my forehead and your concerned look. You were so determined to look after me that I can't help but feel loved looking back at it. Before that I remember falling into you when I collapsed, I'm not sure why I went to you at first but I guess it's obvious now huh? My body just moved on his own and went to the person I love and trust the most."

Serena smiles a little at Ash's comment as she questions "If you remembered the whole time then why'd you never bring up? You said we could talk about it later."

Ash explains "Well we're talking about it now right? I just decided to leave it because it was kind of embarrassing for you in a way. I guess I just didn't want to make you feel uncomfortable.

Serena nods and admits with a sheepish smile "Right, I was a little embarrassed wearing your clothes when you caught me."

She decides to tease him a little as she continues in a playful tone "So if someone challenges me to a performance,would you put my clothes on and perform in my place?"

Ash laughs a little at the idea and replies in a joking tone "I'd try my best to imitate it, not sure about the outfit though. I dont think it would look great on me like my outfit did on you right."

Serena blushes at Ash's compliment and replies "It did look pretty cool on me right?"

Ash smiles as he remembers back to how cute Serena looked wearing his clothes. He admits "I certainly enjoyed seeing you wearing it and I think you enjoyed wearing it as well. Although Pikachu said you seemed to enjoy imitating me a little too much if you know want I mean?"

Serena pouts and playfully punches Ash's arm. She puts on a mad face and complains "Well what was I supposed to do? Let you get hurt battling in no condition to do so."

Ash laughs at Serena's playfulness and replies in a sweet tone "No, you did the best thing for me as always."

Serena smiles at Ash's compliment before she leans in and gives him a sweet thank you peck on the lips.

The celebration goes on for about another hour longer. Eventually the crowds disperse and everyone goes there separate ways. Ash and Greninja share one last hug as they decide not to prolong the goodbye any longer.

All the champions leave to return to their home regions as everyone else goes their own ways.

After the celebration ends, Ash and Serena decide to take one last walk on the beach before returning to the professors house for the night. They both lay on the sand as Serena lays with her head on Ash's chest and her arms wrapped around him. Ash wraps his arms around Serena's waist, holding her in a gentle warm embrace. For the first time since the Alola league, the two finally have some peace together to reflect.

Ash let's off a peaceful sigh and remarks "Finally, just the two off us huh."

Serena looks up at him and replies with small smile "I know, I like spending time with the others but is nice to have some privacy. It's been a while since I've had you all to myself."

Ash smiles back and replies "Yeah that's right, we haven't had this sort of peace since before the league started. That feels like years ago at this point."

Serena nods in agreement and exclaims "Yeah I haven't had the chance to properly congratulate you for becoming champion yet."

Ash smirks a little and replies "Well you can now if you want."

Serena giggles at Ash's playful side before she leans up and gives him a long loving kiss on the lips. She pulls back with a beaming smile and exclaims "Congratulations on becoming Alola's first champion Ash. I'm so proud of you."

Ash smiles at Serena's little congratulations and remarks in a happy tone "Thanks Serena, and I'm proud of you too."

Serena smiles at her boyfriend's appreciation for her as she thinks about what she should do to celebrate his victory. Serena smirks as she rubs her palms across Ash's chest and whispers in a slightly seductive tone and "I'll give you your reward for winning soon Ash."

Ash scratches his head nervously and replies "I'm pretty sure I've already got it babe."

Serena giggles a little and whispers "I'm not talking about the trophy Ash."

Ash takes a sigh before he reassuringly smiles at his girlfriend. He shakes his head and replies in a soft tone "I know exactly what your talking about Serena. Truth is though we shouldn't do that at moment with your injuries. But there's no need to rush. Besides being with you is enough of a reward."

Serena blushes as she feels shocked that Ash actually understood what she was referring to. Truth is she's really glad with his answer, she's not sure if she is ready yet considering her condition. She feels very loved that Ash would think about her feelings like that and make sure she is 100% comfortable.

She buries her head in his chest and whispers "I feel the same way. Thank you for being so understanding."

Ash smiles at his girlfriend's reaction, as long as she is happy and comfortable then he is too. He decides to change the subject as he asks "So, what's next then? We've still got 6 weeks to go until the masterclass starts. So do you want to go back to Kalos to practice and see your mom or stay in Alola."

Serena hears Ash's question as a few nerves kick in. She's planned out exactly what she wants to do next in her head but she's unsure if Ash will be approving.

She decides to go for it as she looks up to Ash with prying eyes and replies "Actually I was thinking of something else."

Ash's eyes narrow in suspicion as he exclaims "Yeah sure, whatever you want is fine by me. But I have to ask, why not the those two?"

Serena looks a little worried as she explains "Well as much as I love Alola, people are going to be all over us here now that we've revealed our relationship so we're not going to get much peace like this for me to practice and struggle to get through my injuries. As for Kalos, sure Vaniville town will be quiet but in Kalos is where I'm most known and your pretty famous there too so we'd definitely be surrounded if we even moved outside off Vaniville town. Plus there's the risk of other performers trying to spy and steal my idea's. I just don't want to have my preparation spoiled in any way."

Ash's eyes widen in realisation as he looks up at the moon. He takes a second to think before he replies "I guess your right, it wouldn't be the most ideal situation either way. So, where did you want to go instead?"

Serena holds her ribbon and takes a deep breath as she prepares to give her answer. She looks into her boyfriend's eyes and questions "Well, what about Pallet Town."

Ash tilts his head in confusion and questions "Really, Pallet town?"

Serena smiles and nods as she hums "Hm hm, that's right."

Ash smirks a little and admits "Well I'm obviously happy to go back home, but I still need to ask why? Is this just something your doing just to make me happy. If it is then trust me Serena I can wait to go home. We're preparing for your next competition, it doesn't really matter about me."

Serena shakes her head and explains with a smile plastered on her face "No Ash it's not that. I know it will make you happy to see your mom and Pokémon again, I bet there all waiting to contragulate you after the pokemon league. But it's also the best place to go. I'd love to see Pallet  Town again, it's been so long since summer camp. It'll be really quiet so we'd have a lot of privacy and we'd be able to have space for performance practice. It would also be really helpful having having access to all my Pokémon at the lab, it's only a quick walk from your house you said. On top of that I'd be really excited to see Professor Oak again and meet your mom in person for the first time. I'm a little nervous about what she'll think of me but I'm sure we'll get along fine. Also I get to meet all your Pokémon finally and see the others I've met already again. I think it'll be the best option for both of us to take a break there to recover for a bit. I know you love travelling but I'm not really in the best shape to that. I really think it'll be the best idea Ash."

Ash takes in Serena's words as a smile appears on his face. she's right, this would be perfect for them both. They would have all the space they need to perfect her performances and get her back to her best. Seeing his mom and his Pokémon again is always exciting, plus it would be a good opportunity to get some training in on the side. As much as Ash loves travelling he loves Serena 100x more. Taking a break for a few weeks wouldn't be so bad. Especially considering settling down one day with Serena is bound to happen at this rate so it'll be a nice test run to see what their like living together. At the end of the day the idea is perfect and Serena is happy. There is only one correct response.

Ash looks down towards Serena, the silence making her tense up. Ash gives her a reassuring smile and replies "Yeah that's perfect, I'll call my mom right away to let her know we're coming home. I'm sure she'll be just as excited as you are."

Serena beams a happy smile and clutches her boyfriend tighter as she shouts "Thanks Ash  your the best!"

Ash laughs at her reaction and exclaims "Don't thank me Serena it was your idea, now come on. Let's go to the professors house so we can look for plane tickets to kanto."

Serena giggles a little at the mention of planes much to Ash's confusion.

Ash raises an eyebrow and questions "What's up?"

Serena catches her giggles and smiles as she admits "Ash, we don't need a plane. We've got Charizard here remember!"

Ash scratches the back of his head and replies in a questioning tone "Charizard? Yeah he could fly us there in a couple of hour, but wouldn't you rather be in a plane with luxury."

Serena frowns, feeling a little offended by Ash's assessment of her. Sure the private jet was nice but she didn't need all that. She isn't a gold digger or a girl who just wants fancy things. All she needs to be happy is her family and friends support. All she needs to be happy in her relationship is love. It's as simple as that.

Serena shakes her head and replies in a modest tone "Ash, I may be a performer and all but I don't need all that fancy stuff to be happy. As long as I'm with you I'm happy and us two flying on your fire breathing dragon over the sea as the sun sets, it's kind of romantic to me in a way."

Ash smiles at Serena's answer and exclaims "I've never really thought of Charizard as romantic, but in a way your right. It would be pretty awesome."

Serena nods and adds "Yeah your right, and we'd have come full circle. We began this journey with us two flying on Charizard so it only be right to end it that way."

Ash smiles and pumps his fist as he announces in an upbeat tone "That settles it, I'll let my mom know we're coming and we'll leave tomorrow evening after we've spent one last day in Alola."

Serena giggles a little at Ash's tone and exclaims "Sounds like a plan, I can't wait to see Pallet town again."

Ash smiles and questions "Well then are you ready to go?"

Serena nods and begins to stand up when she suddenly feels her legs being taken from underneath her. She squeals as Ash lifts her into air before holding her in his arms.

Serena frowns a little and complains "I can walk now you know!"

Ash smiles at his girlfriend and exclaims "I know princess, it's just that I don't want you to get hurt again. It's a long walk back now and you've been on your feet a lot today. I think we should limit your physical activity until tomorrow now okay?"

Serena feels her heart warm at Ash's thoughtfulness. Truth is she is still in pain after her performance and the walk would have done her more harm than good. She leans up and gives Ash two thank you kisses on either cheek before on big thank you kiss on the lips.

She settles into his arms and whispers "I
Love you Ash."

Ash looks down at her with a smile and whispers "I love you too Serena."

The two walk back towards the professors house with Ash carrying Serena. With their plans made they both are ready to move forward into the future together.

Ash is officially the champion of Alola.

And Ash and Serena are going back to Pallet town.

Things are definitely shaping up for the future.
