"What do you mean she's not here? It's media day!" George told his PR.

"I'm sorry George, she told me she's still caught in some events and most likely won't be able to make it this weekend..."

"I can't believe her, and she's not even- ugh! Let's go." He said, leaving to do his duties.

He checked his phone once more, seeing that you still had him banned from your personal number. He texted once more to the work one, to see if you were going to be there.

"It's Silverstone weekend, I'm a mess without you! The press is all over me and I need you, if not as a friend, as a manager."

You took two hours to reply to him, since you were making sure everything was perfect for your plan.

"I'm sorry, George. My colleague there is perfect for the job, he know what he's doing, trust him. He has all your schedules and will take you to them. Good luck."

He sighed. You blocked him out completely, he couldn't believe it. "I miss you way too much..." he mumbled and kept going.

Friday was the same, but with the difference that there was some racing. George still did good in practices, keeping in the top 3 and even winning the second practice.

It just wasn't the same for him, you weren't there. He kept looking around to see you on the paddock, checking his phone and waiting for your texts. He was scared to ask about you to the others, because they would ask too many questions he didn't have the answers to, or even ask the questions he did knew how to respond but didn't want to. George didn't know if he was just scared of saying it again and not being able to ever let you know, or just making a fool of himself.

Saturday started rainy and gloomy just like George's mood. First thing he heard when he came back to the track, was someone asking him about you because they thought you'd be there. His mood dropped a ton more and he didn't even know it was possible. The only thing he was happy about, was that he had no media commitments, having completed them all the day before, so his PR substitute was nowhere to be found, not until quali at least.

The first few minutes of practice 3, rain was a threat, so they gave it all and the traffic was horrible. That of course didn't help George's mood, that went from sad to angry in 1:36:865 since he couldn't do a proper move with the cars around and the drizzle at some parts of the circuit.

Two minutes later, rain went on with everything it got and the session was suspended, expecting the rain to clear out in the next hour as predicted. Not even the wet compounds were able to prevent the cars from slipping, so the teams kept their cars inside.

George went back to his room and tried to meditate for a moment to calm his nerves, as he would need them sharp for qualifying. Right when he was getting into it, someone knocked on his door.

"Yeah? Come in."

"Hi George!" one of the girls from his regular PR team was at his door. "Congratulations on being discharged from the special team and back with us!" she said with a smile.

"What? What do you mean?" he asked.

"I assume you know, our work with the other agency is completed. I mean, we will still do some follow up on some press stuff but that's mainly on us, you're with us again, yay!" She made a little dance and frowned when he did the same. "Is there something wrong?"

George just looked to a random point in the room, deep in thought. "So she quit and she never told me?"

"Oh," the girl mumbled. "I thought you knew George, I'm sorry..."

"It's okay, I'm actually happy I get to be with you guys again," he faked a smile even when he was telling the truth, he wasn't in the mood for a big smile.

"Okay then..." she said and waited a few seconds before speaking again. "I will say sorry again: we have a small questionnaire with some Tik-Tok influencer and I need us to go now... please?"

George groaned and threw his head back to take a deep breath. "Okay, sure. Media day was Thursday, don't they know that?"

"Not many of them proud themselves in being punctual or following the rules," she spoke, walking towards one of the trailers. "Now, she's in there, she doesn't have important questions, mainly silly things and not technical stuff because her account doesn't do that, okay? Try and enjoy, she will cheer you up, I reckon," she gave him a smile and wink and waited outside.

He went in and sighed. No one was still there, only a set that probably belonged to the tiktoker and a scrunchie. "Fucking Norah, they won't even show up in time..." he groaned and crossed his arms.

Right in that moment, he felt a pair of arms over his shoulders, sliding over his chest. He recognised the bracelet on the right wrist and felt his heart beating faster than ever. He closed his eyes, thinking it was just his mind playing tricks on him.

"Do you always get this grumpy in interviews, Georgie?" your voice spoke playfully in his ear.

"Are you a dream?" He asked instead.

"Do you feel like it is?" You replied softly, leaving a kiss on his cheek. He grasped your hands over his chest so tightly as if you would disappear any moment.

"Frankly, it does... Haven't slept so well and all I do is think about you, and now I'm alone inside this trailer, waiting for god knows what, and you come up like this..." he sighed as he played with your bracelet and you softly stroked his chest with your fingers.

"You're not alone, baby, look at me..." you told him and let him go so you would be in front of him. He tried to keep his grasp on your hands, still scared you would fade away. "Open your eyes, Georgie," you said while placing your hands gently over his face.

He did as you told him and smiled widely almost immediately. "What are you doing here? Where were you?" he did the same with his hands and your face, then his face dropped. "You quit..."

You shrugged. "You know how strict I am when it comes to personal and professional relationships, George..."

"I know that, but it's me, if it is about what happened with... wait," he interrupted himself. "What do you mean with personal relationships?"

"I mean everything that happened since that first moment you helped me get up from the floor and carried me all the way back to my room, even though you hated me. It was never professional between us, George. I've had feelings for you for who knows how long. And the other night when we kissed I dismissed it as just the moment we spent together, but when I saw Carmen there it finally hit me, I couldn't put more excuses, so it was time to put limits on it, urgently..."

"About Carmen, I can explain, honestly..."

"I know everything," you cut him with a smile. "That's why I'm here, because I have no limits when it comes to you, or the way I feel about you..."

He smirked and looked up at you with his big eyes. "And what way is that, may I ask?"

You kissed him. He did it back as he grabbed your waist and brought you to the chair with him. You let go of the kiss and watched him chase your lips with his for more. You giggled and put your fingers over his mouth for a second. "I know the kiss was pretty self explanatory, but don't you want to know?"

"After not hearing your voice for days, hearing you say that will make me the happiest man in the universe..." he said, speaking his words over your jawline.

"I love you, George Russell."

He let out a breath and you felt him smile against your skin. "I love you too, I wish you could know how much..." he said and cuddled your waist.

You put your arms around his neck and played with his hair. "I'm happy knowing you love me back, champ."

He giggled. "That reminds me, I should get that pole for my girlfriend today..."

"You have a girlfriend and you're getting all cozy with me here?"

"Well, I thought, you know..." he blushed.

"Sir, you have to earn the title!" you teased him.

"Okay then, will pole and win at Silverstone then wine and dinner at home count?"

You giggled, knowing he'd do all of those things just to get a yes from you. "Maybe, try and see."

"Hopefully it will happen today, if this influencer shows up..." he sighed, looking at the door.

You laughed. "George there's no influencer! It was all me!"

He laughed too. "See what you do to me?"

"Love you, that's what I do," you told him as you kissed him once more.
