"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!" Everyone screamed as the mummies chased them outside of the burial chamber.
"Where do we go?!" Miu cried as they ran.
"We must go back through the door that led us into this room!" Kiyo answered. Kaito stopped abruptly in front of the door they had entered before discovering the large drawing Queen Yuwanapisami.
"B-But...that has all the beetles in it!" he shrieked.
"Stop bein' a planet-sized pussy and just go, already, you space-lovin' shithead!!" Miu yelled, shoving Kaito through the door. The others ran inside just as the mummies reached them. In a frenzy, the scarab beetles began flying everywhere.
"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!" Kaito sobbed, swinging his arms every which way. "THEY'RE CRAWLING ON ME!!! I CAN FEEL IT!! SOMEBODY GET ME OUTTA HE-HE-HEEEEERREEE!!!"
"Ee-eeeeeeee!!! So this is what it's like to be trapped in a room with bugs flyin' everywhere!!" Miu squealed in terror. She was banging herself against the walls, trying to squish any beetles in the process. She heard a squelch, followed by the feeling of liquid pouring down her shirt. "AAUUUGHHH...NOW I GOT BUG GUTS GOIN' DOWN MY BOOBS!!"
"Everyone...ughh...keep...urghh...going!" Kiyo shouted through strains of trying to swat away the beetles.
"KOKICHI!!!" Himiko screamed, closing her eyes shut. "THERE'S A BEETLE ON MY ARM!!! GET IT OFF!!!"
"BAD BEETLE!!! GET OFF OF HIMIKO!!!" Kokichi yelled and swatted it off. "AAHH!!!" Squeaking like a chipmunk, he jumped back in fear.
"AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!" Kaito screamed like a little girl. "THE MUMMY'S GOT MEEEEEE!!! WAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!" Through the storm of beetles, the others turned and saw that Kaito had spoken the truth. Wrapped around Kaito's waists were a pair of mummy arms, which were slowly dragging him back.
"Hold on, Kaito!" Kiyo said. He waved his torch at the mummy, which moaned in fear as it backed off. Kaito was now free and he and the others began trudging through the tunnel of swarming beetles. They finally made it to the end of the tunnel. The wall that Kokichi had blown up seemed to have crumbled some more as they were inside the queen's burial chamber. They ran through it and back into the room where they had encountered the wall with the hieroglyphs. Kiyo pointed at the lone tunnel they hadn't gone through yet.
"Quick! Through there!" he said, and led them through it. Behind them, they could hear the moans of the mummies, which were gaining on them.
"Hahaha...this is so cool!" Kokichi exclaimed happily. "We're being chased by actual real-life mummies!"
"Kaito, next time you decide to go on a field trip, please don't bring me along," Kiyo said.
"If there is a next time!" Kaito pointed out. They ran into a large room with an enormous statue of Queen Yuwanapisami sitting on her throne. Behind the statue was a small opening in which they could hide. Himiko stopped to see if she could talk to the mummies.
"Nyeh...wait! I-I'm related to your queen!" she said. One of the mummies grabbed at her, but she jumped back just in time. "N-Never mind!" she squealed. Miu was the first to enter the hiding place, then Kiyo, Kaito, Kokichi, and Himiko.
"Well...this is how it ends for us," Miu said, holding herself and rocking back and forth. "Playing 'Hide and Get-Killed-By-Mummies!'"
"Well, at least we're in an appropriate place to die," Kiyo pointed out. "No better place to die than in a tomb that has already been set up."
"Well, gee, that's comforting," Kokichi said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "Hey! By the way, Kaito, you have a beetle on you!" Kaito began gasping and smacking himself. He swung himself violently, trying to take off his jacket.
"Where?? WHERE?!?! " he began to cry. Kokichi fell on his back, clutching his stomach as he laughed and pointed at Kaito.
"MWA-HAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!! IT'S A LIE!!!" he laughed. Kaito glared daggers at Kokichi.
"WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!" he shouted.
"Well, if we're going to die, I might as well get one last laugh in," Kokichi replied with a cheeky grin.
"Does anyone have anything helpful to say?" Kiyo asked in annoyance. Himiko peeked out from behind the wall.
"Nyeh...they're headed this way," Himiko whispered. "Everybody stay quiieeet!"
"Time for this golden-brained girl genius to go all out!" Miu said. "I'm gonna come up with a plan!"
"And what plan is that?" Kiyo asked, folding his arms.
"Hang on! All I gotta do is think...think...THINK!" Miu said. She closed her eyes as images began forming in her mind and her brain began pumping ideas. She held up her finger in triumph. "BRAIN KERSPLOOSH!!!" she exclaimed.
"Brain Kersploosh?" Kaito asked. "What does that mean?"
"That's what I yell when I have an idea!" Miu replied proudly.
"Well, what is your idea, then?" Kiyo asked.
"Himiko acts like Queen Pissin-Me-Off, right? So, if we make Himiko get out there, maybe the mummies will obey her command!" Miu said.
"I must admit, that is a good plan," Kiyo admitted.
"Nyeh...but, I tried that, already," Himiko mumbled. "It didn't work."
"Whaaaat?!" Miu exclaimed. Kokichi pulled her aside.
"Himiko, you can't channel the queen, anymore?" he whispered. Himiko shrugged and shook her head.
"I don't know," she admitted forlornly. "I don't feel the magic anymore." Kokichi pursed his lips and furrowed his brow in thought.
"That's okay," he whispered. "I think I've got an idea!" Taking Himiko's hand, he rejoined the others. "Maybe it's not enough for her to act like the queen," Kokichi said, and turned to Himiko. "Maybe you have to look exactly like her, too!"
"Pfff...that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard!" Miu spat. "But...this is a chance to give Himiko a makeover! I'm in!"
"I will do her hair," Kiyo offered.
"Hey! Don't leave me out! I'll do her nails!" Kaito said. Everyone crowded around Himiko and got to work. Minutes later, Himiko's new look matched that of the queen's. Her hair had been braided with a gold tiara over it. She wore makeup with thick eyeliner, and around her neck was a bejeweled usekh collar.
"Heeeey, Monkey Buns!" Kokichi said, making a finger frame with his thumbs and index fingers. "Lookin' good, babe!"
"Go out there and give those mummies a piece of your mind!" Kaito said.
"Good luck, Himiko," Kiyo added.
"Yeah, go boss them around for once!" Miu said. Himiko smiled gratefully at them before taking a deep breath and marching out from behind the massive statue. The others poked out their heads to see what was happening. The mummies advanced closer. Himiko thrust her hand out to them.
"Stop!" she said in her best commanding voice, but it didn't deter the mummies. "Um...halt?" Himiko said with a little less confidence. The mummies still kept coming. Himiko began to get frustrated. "NYEEEH...YOUR QUEEN TOLD YOU TO PARK YOUR CARCASSES, SO YOU'D BETTER DO IT RIGHT NOW!!!" Surprisingly, the mummies came to an abrupt stop. The others gasped in astonishment.
"Haha, hey, the mummies stopped!" Kaito laughed in amazement.
"Yes, but it seems we have created another monster," Kiyo said.
"Now lemme hear you say 'Abracadabra!'" Himiko said enthusiastically.
"Ahh-baa-caa-daa-baaa" the mummies moaned.
"Say 'Hocus-Pocus!'" Himiko commanded.
"Ho-huuh-poh-huuh," the mummies moaned.
"Lu-mos! Lu-mos!" Himiko said, pointing her fingers to the rhythm.
"Lu-hoooh, lu-hoooh," moaned the mummies.
"Now, swish and flick, and shake your boo-tay!" Himiko said, dancing.
"Swihh-ahh-flihh-ahh-shay-haa-oo-teeeh!" the mummies repeated as they also did a little dance. Kokichi stepped out and tiptoed over to Himiko to whisper in her ear.
"Hey, um...Monkey Buns, I know you're having a moment, but we really need to wrap this up," he said.
"Nyeh...right. Sorry," Himiko replied. After a quick kiss on her cheek, Kokichi went back to join the others. Himiko cleared her throat and faced the mummies. "I command you to sleep for five..."
"TEN!!" the others corrected.
"...ten kajillion more years!" Himiko finished. At her command, the mummies drifted off immediately into a deep slumber. "Nyeh...sleep tight! Don't let the scarab beetles bite!" The others ran up to join her. Kokichi threw his arms around Himiko.
"Nice work, HimiCocoa Bean!" he said. "I'm proud of you!"
"Yeah, yeah, that's great an' all, but how the hell do we get out of this place?!" Miu said. "I still have to take a shit!" The others looked around, trying to find another way out.
"If we go back the way we came, we'll just end up in the room with all the hieroglyphs, yeah?" Kaito asked. "And from there, we'll just encounter those booby traps again if we go through the tunnels we came out of."
"HAARRR-AAAUUUGHHH...DAMMIT!!" Miu shouted in frustration. Suddenly, Himiko felt the tingling sensation in her body again. She immediately snapped to attention. Kokichi noticed and raised his eyebrows questioningly at her. She nodded to him, indicating to him that the magic had reappeared. She felt the magic surge to her feet, making the ground beneath her vibrate. She could feel the vibration creating a path for her, which led back through the tunnel. She was skeptical at first, but she decided to trust it.
"Nyeh...guys? I think we should go back the way we came," she said.
"Why do you say that?" Kiyo asked.
"Um...just a feeling," Himiko replied. Before the others could protest, she began walking ahead. Kokichi shrugged and smiled at the others.
"Seems like HimiCocoa Bean is our lucky charm today," he said. "Might as well follow her!" He ran off after Himiko. Kiyo, Miu, and Kaito exchanged puzzled glances before merely shrugging their shoulders, as well, and following Kokichi and Himiko through the tunnel.
