Brenton: September 5, 2014

I ran from the park and reached my silver car parked closest to the street. I hopped in and closed the door, jamming my keys in the ignition quickly before pulling out of my parking space and racing after the black car.

He hadn't gotten very far and I decided to follow at a distance.

It didn't the black car long to pull into the parking lot of a Staples store.

Due to the massive size of the building, I was able to park in a parking spot far away from the black car's and go unnoticed.

I sat in the driver's seat, watching intently the man get out of his car and headed into the store. He was tall. So tall that I wondered how he even fit in the small black car. He had dark hair and was built quite large. Not as large as me but still large. I was probably a few inches shorter than this man. He was dressed quite nicely for a man who was only going into Staples. He wore a dark suit and red tie, all ironed neatly.

I began to doubt this was Mona's kidnapper. He just looked like a man going in for a job interview, that's all.

He soon disappeared within the store and I looked to his car in curiosity. Should I investigate? I thought to myself.

After lingering behind the steering wheel for a few seconds, I huffed and opened my door, stepping onto the asphalt and closing then locking my car before making my way across the parking lot.

His black car shimmered beneath the bright sun, further proving that this man was a cleanly person. Spotless with the exception that he may be my girlfriend's kidnapper.

Nonchalantly, I stood in the empty parking space next to his car and pretended to look for someone, though I was really only looking around for anyone who could be watching me. The parking lot was barren with the exception of the other vehicles.

I took my chance and tried the door, praying there was no alarm. There wasn't. The back door opened easily and I laughed to myself. What idiot left a nice a car like this unlocked in a Staples parking lot?

I shook the thought away and quickly began to look around the car. Nothing. It was empty. Not even water bottles or gum wrappers. I sighed and looked out the window. He hadn't come back yet.

With one last idea, I leaned further into the car and unlocked the trunk with a button on the dashboard.

I got out of the nice car, which also smelled new and clean, and closed the door before making my way to the rear of the car.

I tugged the trunk open and glanced back to Staples hesitantly. Still no sign of the cleanly yet large man.

I focused back on the trunk and peered inside. A single Wal-Mart bag lay on the floor, folded up neatly along with it's contents.

I allowed my curiosity to get the best of me and I pulled the bag out and unfolded it then peeked inside. It's only item was an off-white shirt with a shredded back. The shreds were covered in a rustic colored paint- from what I could tell- and I decided to pull the shirt out carefully.

It unfolded as I pulled out and I realized that it wasn't paint, but rather dried blood- and a lot of it.

I dropped the shirt in fright and cringed away from it.

Did I just incriminate evidence? Shakily, I bent down and picked the shirt up again, turning it over a few times to inspect it.

I looked back up and noticed the man approach the automatic glass doors.

I looked back to the shirt and gasped. Should I take it with me? If he finds out someone took it, he may leave town before anyone can even blink an eye.

I swiftly folded the shirt and placed it back in the bag before folding the bag and placing it back in the trunk. I slammed the trunk closed and sprinted in the opposite direction of the car, breathing heavily from the run and from my distorted thoughts.

I stopped and looked back to the car. The cleanly man hadn't noticed a thing and was opening his car door completely unaware of my scandal.

He carried a single shopping bag that held a large, pink piece of clothing. Without even looking in my direction, he got into his car and closed the door before starting his car and driving away.

I didn't want to follow him this time. I found what I wanted to. I had already memorized his license plate when following him.

I leaned against the tree I had ran to and closed my eyes, breathing heavily as I tried to calm myself.

The bloody shredded shirt I found wasn't just a shirt. It was Mona's.

Mona: September 5, 2014

I cradled Beth against me, stroking her hair as she rested in my arms- unconscious.

She had blistering and bleeding burns on her anterior left shoulder.

I looked to the other three for help.

Kaila only stared with pity in her eyes. Jenna looked at her hands in her lap. Zoey had a look of anger in her expression.

"Help me." I whispered to them.

They didnt respond. I angrily looked away from them, disappointed that the girls who were kidnapped with me were too scared to even help a fellow victim.

"Beth, everythin' is gonna be ok. You're gonna heal and we're gonna get outta here. All of us." I breathed into her ear as I stroked her hair comfortingly.

It was then that the basement door was flung open and I flinched, closing my eyes and trying to wish him away.

His footsteps slowly descended the steps. He seemed calm.

I opened my eyes and peeked over my shoulder. He was right behind me.

I jumped with surprise and looked ahead again. I didn't know how this would help me get out of the situation. My lashes stung again just from his presence.

I felt two hands grasp my shoulders and I whimpered in pain as his thumbs pressed into the still open wounds on my scapula.

Without warning, I was jerked to my feet. Beth's unconscious body limply fell to the concrete like a rag doll.

I tried crying out, but was cut short as my body was forced to about face my attacker.

"Take off your shirt." he ordered.

I stared at him in horror, looking to the conscious girls for help, but wasn't surprised to see them cowering rather than stepping in. They hadn't told me he tried this with any of them.

Jarek's hand shot out at me and gripped my face, forcing me to look at him. "I said take off your shirt." he informed me through grit teeth.

I pulled away from him and backed away, shaking my head in refusal. "No."

There was no way in hell I would undress for him. And I wouldn't let him do it himself without putting up a fight first.

Jarek rolled his eyes and walked forward, quickly closing the distance between us. His hands reached out for me, attempting to grab my healing wrist.

I jerked myself away and stumbled back. "Get the fuck away from me." I spat.

Anger flashed across his once annoyed expression and he lunged for me.

I quickly jumped out of the way, shoving his arms in the opposite direction I was going. His body tumbled to the ground and I looked for a way to escape. The stairs. He hadn't closed the door. Fucking idiot.

I ran for it, sprinting to the stairs and taking them two at a time.

"Not again!" I heard his loud voice boom surprisingly close to me.

A hand closed around my ankle and jerked me down the stairs, making me lose my balance and fall onto my stomach, screaming in the process.

I was pulled backward with ease and I screamed again, using my free foot to kick at my kidnapper.

I kicked again and again until my heel collided with something, causing him to grunt and release my foot.

I turned onto my back, knowing I wouldn't have time to stand and run again, so I decided to fight. Jarek held his jaw and glared at me, a small smile playing at his lips.

"You aren't going to get away, Mona. I'll kill you before you can." he laughed quietly.

I smirked. "Is that a challenge?"

That wiped the smile right off his face.

The burly man dove for me but I quickly evaded him, rolling beneath the staircase railing and falling to the floor sloppily.

My shoulder collided with the cold cement and I cried out briefly before getting to my feet and running to the other side of the basement.

I heard him descend the stairs again and turned in time to see him running toward me.

Then I waited. One moment. Two moments. Three.

He was in front of me now and I stuck out my hand above me as his arms wrapped around me.

My fist jammed into his throat. He made a gurgling sound and fell away from me, allowing me enough time to sprint for the stairs again.

He was quicker this time.

I didn't even make it half way to the stairs this time before his large body tackled me to the ground.

My lashes burned and my shoulder throbbed horribly.

He jerked me around to face him and grinned down at me as he straddled my legs and restrained my fighting fists. "What's the poor girl gonna do now?"

"Fuck you!" I growled at him.

He smiled and let go of my hands.

I attempted to punch him, but soon felt his hands wrap around my throat. I lowered my fists and pulled at his tight grip, bucking my hips to get him off of me.

"You know, I really like a fighter." he laughed down at me manically.

My vision blurred as I fought to take in any air I could, everything growing bright.

Jarek peeled my weakening body from the floor by my throat then slammed my head back down on the concrete, rendering me unconscious.
