After their reunion at the school, Ash and Serena return to the professors house. They enter inside hand in hand and are greeted by professor Burnett. The professor smiles seeing the two walk in together and says "Ash, Serena, it's good to see you both together at last." Serena smiles and replies "It's good to be back together again. Burnett smiles again, looking genuinely pleased for the two and asks "So when do you two want dinner tonight."
Ash shakes his head and announces "Sorry professor but me and Serena are planning on going out on a date later tonight." Serena smiles a loving smile at Ash, still not sure if it's actually real that he's taking her out or if she'll wake up in a few minutes and realise she was dreaming. Burnett shakes her head and exclaims in an excited tone "That's okay, have fun both of you and don't stay out too late." Serena nods her head and says "We'll sensible, we have to be at the school again tomorrow."
Kukui overhears the conversation and questions "A date huh, any ideas where your going Ash." Ash nods and replies "Yeah I've been planning this for a while, I know exactly where we're going to be going." Serena looks at Ash with anticipation and questions "So where are we going Ash." The raven hair trainer smiles and winks to his girlfriend. "It's a secret Serena. But don't worry I know you'll love it."
Serena shakes her head and remarks "Well if I'm with you then I'm sure I will. Anyway I should go get ready." Ash nods in agreement and replies "Yeah me too, I can't go out wearing this. If I did then you might dump me." Serena shakes her head at her boyfriend and says after in a sincere tone "Ash I would never dump you over something as silly as clothes. You can wear whatever makes you comfortable, don't change for me." Ash smiles loving at his girlfriend and replies "Thanks Serena, the same goes in reverse as well. As long as your happy I'm happy."
The two stare at each other with smiles on their faces. Kukui and Burnett watch the two and can't help but break into a fit of giggles. Ash and Serena frown at the Professors for interrupting them. Burnett catches her giggles first and comments "I'm sorry but the way you two flirt is so corny." Ash scratches his head nervously and says "Sorry I'm new to this still." Kukui shakes his head and says "You'll get used to it little cousin."
Ash and Serena make their way upstairs and begin to get themselves ready. The both enter the bedroom together but Serena is quick to kick Ash out much to his surprise. Ash apologises, thinking he's done something that's upset her or made her feel uncomfortable. Serena feels her heat melt at Ash's innocence and let's him know that he's not done anything wrong. She kicked him out so she can keep her outfit a secret until the date. Ash accepts this and walks off to a spare room as Serena shouts down the corridor "No aura peeking either!"
Serena takes her time to get ready for their date. She takes a shower, redoes her make up and picks out the perfect outfit for the occasion. Meanwhile Ash finds himself having a crisis on what to wear. He knows Serena said she doesn't care but he can't make no effort at all. Problem is all his outfit choices in the past his mom has helped him with and giving her a call about this is a no go. Instead he gives Gary a call about the situation.
Gary teases Ash about the date before he actually helps him out. He suggests a casual look considering Serena fell in love with Ash at a summer camp and throughout a journey across Kalos where he wasn't exactly wearing anything fancy. Ash agrees with that sentiment and after some deliberation agrees on what he's going to wear.
He puts on a black pair of jeans with a black top that is tight to his physique. He puts on a blue jacket, similar to his Kalos jacket, that he leaves unzipped. Finally he puts on a pair of White sneakers to complete the look. He smiles in the mirror and says "How do I look buddy." Pikachu nods and exclaims "Pika Pika!"
Ash smiles at his first Pokémon and says "Oh yeah Pikachu I forgot to mention. Serena said she wants us to bring our Pokémon with us too so you guys can all meet. I know it's not ideal but while we're eating, you wouldn't mind going for a walk or something." Pikachu nods his head yes. Ash smiles and finishes "Thanks buddy, your the best." Pikachu smiles and leaps up onto Ash's shoulder. Ash smiles at his first Pokémon and walks out the room and down the stairs.
Meanwhile with Serena, she sits at her desk putting the finishing touches on her makeup while Sylveon and Braxien sit on the bed behind her. Serena looks back at the two and asks "Do you think Ash will like the dress I picked." The pokemon nod and let out their respective cries in a positive manner. Serena smiles and puts on some eyeliner.
As she does she announces "Oh Sylveon, I have a favour to ask you." Sylveon tilts her head and questions "Veon." Serena puts down the makeup and continues "I asked Ash if we can bring our Pokémon just in case. He agreed but there's one problem, Pikachu won't go in his pokeball. Me and Ash don't mind him staying with us on our date but it might get awkward. So can you and him go for a walk somewhere and we'll meet you later on."
Sylveon takes a step back with a small blush on her face and nervously nods her head yes. Serena giggles and says "Don't tell me your crushing on Pikachu, Sylveon." The fairy type Pokémon shakes her head and furiously denies the accusation while Braxien shrugs and says in Pokémon language "He's too dense anyway." Serena giggles and says "I used to say the same thing about Ash."
As Serena continues to get ready, Ash and the professors wait for her in the living room. Ash begins to get worried due to how long Serena is taking to get ready and shouts "Serena you okay, what's taking you so long." Serena shouts in a sing song tone "You can't rush a girl Ash." Ash frowns a little and sighs. Burnett smiles and says "Ash the wait will be worth it trust me." Kukui supports his wife's statement and adds "Believe me Ash, you'll need to get used to this. It took Burnett here 2 hours to get ready for our first date." Burnett folds her arms and fire back
"For the record it as was only 1 hour 52 mins." Kukui chuckles and jokes "Well it felt like 3 days."
Ash shakes his head and mutters "Next time I'm doing some training while I'm waiting." Thankfully for the raven haired trainer, the wait is about to end. A door handle creaks as Serena exits her room. She walks down the stairs and enters the room as Ash gasps upon seeing his girlfriend.
She is wearing a black dress that ends just before her knees. The dress perfectly fits her figure and shows off all her curves and edges. She matches this with a black pair of heels. She has her hair curled slightly despite its short length with a pair of blue earrings that glisten when paired with her eyes. Finally to top it off, she's tied her signature blue ribbon to her wrist.
Burnett smiles at the girl and comments "Wow Serena that is gorgeous, we need to do some shopping together one day so you can get me some outfits like that." Kukui nods in agreement and adds "Absolutely stunning young lady." Serena smiles at the two and replies "Thank you both." She then looks at her boyfriend and catches his reaction. She giggles and gives him a twirl, she says in a playful tone "So Ash what do you think."
Ash looks stunned as gazes at his girlfriend. He mutters in a dazed tone "Take as long as you want, all the time." Serena mentally fan girls and grins in celebration. Her goal was to make Ash happy with her outfit and she achieved it. Burnett laughs and comments "See I told you so Ash."
Ash blinks a few times and shakes his head. He breaks himself out of his trance and looks at his girlfriend with a loving smile. He compliments in a sincere tone "Serena you look beautiful." she smiles and blushes at her boyfriends compliment. She manages to keep some control of the heat in her cheeks and takes a glance at Ash's own outfit choice. She was honestly pretty impressed with his style, she always liked Ash's casual look so this outfit was perfect for a first date. Plus the outline of some of his muscles underneath his jacket made her curious as to just how much stronger he'd gotten during his time in Alola.
She smiles and replies "Thanks Ash, your not too bad yourself." Ash smiles at her compliment of his outfit while Sylveon and Pikachu scamper away to give their trainers some privacy until they are needed later.
Ash holds his hand out and asks "So are you ready to go Serena." Serena takes a hold of his hand and confirms "Yeah let's go." The two walk out the house hand in hand as they head off on their first date. The professors watch the two teenagers leave and chuckle to themselves.
"Young love hey," Kukui comments." Burnett shakes her head and replies "Those two are something else." Kukui nods in agreement and says "I agree, anyway let's put that big battle on and relax." The two sit down for a quite evening in the house while they both place little bets on what the two young trainers will get up to.
Ash and Serena walk into the city ready for their date. After a brisk walk through the streets, Ash points to nearby building and says "That's our first stop." Serena looks at were Ash's pointing and feels excitement well up inside her. Ash has picked out a traditional Alolan restaurant for them to dine at. Serena smiles at her boyfriend and asks "Are we eating at that place." Ash nods and confirms "Yeah, it's one of the best restaurants in the Alola region. I'm sure your going to love it." Serena smiles in response and walk into the restaurant in question.
They make it inside and head to the front desk where Ash says to the front of house "Reservation for Ketchum." The man nods and leaves to check if their table is ready. Serena looks around and notices something odd about the fancy restaurant. They're the only ones there!
She turns to ask her boyfriend if he thinks it's weird their the only ones there, when he beats her to the punch as says "I know exactly what your going to say. Don't worry I booked out the whole restaurant so we wouldn't be disturbed by any fans or the press."
Serena feels her heart warm at Ash's thoughtfulness. She leans forward and pecks his cheek. She blushes slightly and says "That's very thoughtful of you Ash." Ash scratches his nose and replies "Anything to keep you happy Serena."
The front of house returns and shows the two to their seats. They both sit down and look at the menu. As they decide what they want to eat, Serena inspects the restaurant further. The lavish decorations, the expensive furniture, even the prices on the menu. The only thing she could think about was how much did Ash spend on this. She knew he had quite a lot saved in his trainer account from all his winnings but he wasn't a billionaire. Plus she would never want him to spend money recklessly and become addicted to an expensive lifestyle.
Serena looks at her boyfriend and asks in a concerned tone "Ash how did you afford this, it must have cost a fortune. I don't want you to spend recklessly. You know I would have happily gone half with you as well." Ash shakes his head and replies with a smile "I know the owner, he's doing me a favour. Even if I didn't there's no way we're splitting. What type of boyfriend would I be if I made a girl as special as you pay for our first date."
Serena blushes at Ash's compliment and replies "Thank you Ash." She then turns her attention back to his first point and asks "How is the owner. He sounds like he must be a nice person." Ash smiles and remarks "Yeah his is, he's actually Mallow's dad and he's a great chef."
The two move away from conversation and go back to looking at the menu. After a few minutes they are ready to order. At the perfect time Abe approaches the couple and bows in front of their table. "Ash it's good to see you again and the beautiful lady here must be miss Serena, it's a pleasure to meet you." Ash nods to the owner and replies "It's good to see you again too Abe and yes this is my girlfriend Serena." Serena smiles and adds "It's nice to meet you too, but please just call me Serena sir."
Abe nods announces "Sure and you can just call me Abe. Anyway what can I get you two lovebirds today." Ash looks at the menu and declares
"I'll have your special Abe." Serena smiles and adds "I'll have the same please."
Abe makes some notes on his notepad and confirms "Two family specials coming right up." Ash smiles and pulls out a piece of paper out of his pocket. He says "Thanks Abe and here's that picture you wanted." Ash hands over the piece of paper to Abe. The restaurant owner smiles and replies "Thank you Ash, I'll bring out your dish soon." He walks away leaving the couple to their own devices.
Serena tilts her head in confusion and asks "Ash, why did Abe want a picture." Ash scratches his head and replies "You see, Abe likes to put pictures up in his restaurants of trainers and there pokemon showing a powerful bond so I gave him a picture of you and your absol during the contest."
Serena gasps a little in shock as she looks around the restaurant again. She was so distracted by the decor that she didn't realise the vast amount of portraits around the restaurant, of trainers and their pokemon. Serena herself doesn't recognise many of the trainers apart from two. Diantha and her Gardevior. Aria and her Delphox. Considering they are two people she's looked up to since the start of her journey, being on the same wall as them two is really special to her. Although she has got one big question. Why would Abe want a picture of her and not Ash.
She smiles and remarks in a conflicted tone "Really a picture of me and Absol.That's very humbling and all but surly he could have asked you for a picture with you and Pikachu. Your bond is much more impressive than mine and Absol's." Ash smiles and points to the wall. He remarks "He's already got one of me."
Serena gazes at the wall and spots a picture of Ash and Pikachu battling alongside each other against Kahuna Hala. She smiles and replies "Oh I see, we'll I'm happy your on the wall too Ash." Ash grins and says "Well actually, I'm up there twice." He points to a big portrait in the middle of the restaurant of Ash and Greninja. The two are stood alongside each other on top of prism tower as Greninja completes his transformation into Ash-Greninja.
Serena rolls her eyes and jokes "Must be nice being a hero huh." Even though she's actually really happy that her boyfriend is getting recognition for all the work he did during the Kalos disaster, she can't help but have a bit of playful banter. Ash shakes his head and humbly remarks "I'm no hero Serena you know that. I'm just a kid from Pallet town who's trying to do the right thing."
Serena feels conflicted by Ash's response. On the one hand his humble response reminds her just why she loves him. His caring attitude, his selflessness and his willingness to help others. On the other hand, She is a little upset Ash doesn't see himself as a hero because to her he is. In more ways then one.
She shakes her head and replies in a sweet tone "I know that isn't true. Your my hero Ash. Always have been, always will be. From the moment you found me in the woods I knew you were a hero. Never forget that." Ash blushes and says "Thanks Serena, I'll never forget."
The two sit and talk some more about their journeys, plans and just general wellbeing. The conversation was pretty much Perfect. Never too one sided or forced at all. However soon the conversation is interrupted as dinner is served. Abe serves the two food as Ash and Serena both thank him. The two fall into a silence for a few minutes as they begin to eat their meals.
After a few bites, Serena says with a smile on her face "Wow this is really good." Ash nods in agreement and replies "Yeah you bet, only 3 people I know can make this dish. It's a family special for a reason." Ash continues to scoff down food his food while Serena eats a little more well mannered. Serena watches her boyfriends lack of table manners and giggles "Still a little Munchlax I see." Ash blushes with embarrassment and nervously replies "Sorry, my table manners are a little lacking."
Serena shakes her head and replies says "There's no need to apologise Ash, it's kind of cute watching eat like a little kid." Ash laughs and remarks "Well you may be okay with it, but I need to learn proper table manners eventually. How am I going to support you at these big events if I can't show the manners they expect." Serena feels her heart warm again that Ash is willing to put himself before her and replies "Don't worry Ash I'll teach you." Ash pumps his fist and flashes his signature grin. "Thanks Serena, your the best." Serena blushes at the sight of the smile she's missed for so long and exclaims "Thank you, Ash"
The two finish their food and thank Abe for the meal before paying the bill and leaving. As they leave the restaurant hand in hand, Serena asks "So Ash, where to next." Ash smiles at his girlfriend and suggests "let's take a walk through town together to look at some of the shops. From there we can take a trip down to the beach. It'll be quiet at this time so we can relax and talk in peace."
Serena fills his excitement at Ash's suggestions. First off she absolutely adores shopping and doing on of her favourite activities with her favourite person can only make it better. Then to top it off a romantic walk down the beach. Was this Ash Ketchum talking or have aliens come to earth and replaced him with a look a like. Either way Serena was enjoying this lightly less dense Ash even more than she did the original. She beams a smile at her boyfriend and exclaims in an excited tone "Sure Ash, let's go!" Ash chuckles at his girlfriends excitement and wraps an arm around her waist. Serena leans her head against his shoulder as the two head off towards the shooing district.
The two walk into the shopping district where Serena feels her excitement increase even more. Seeing the traditional Alolan clothing and other items for the first time, certainly is uplifting for the honey blonde girl. They find themselves in multiple stores as Serena turns into a kid in a candy store, finding new items at every turn. Ash chuckles at his girlfriends childish behaviour. While he might not be the biggest fan of shopping, Serena absolutely adores it and this night is for her.
The spend an hour walking around many different shops as Serena buys a selection of things. She buys a few outfits for herself and her pokemon as well as a few souvenirs. She even buys Ash a new outfit as a thank you for taking her out. The outfit wasn't something Ash would usually choose but he wasn't going to argue with Serena considering her fashion sense was a lot better than his.
After their shopping trip they stopped for ice cream at a nearby vendor. Ash got himself a vanilla ice cream while Serena opted for strawberry. The two took their ice creams and took a walk down to the beach. They finished off their treat and continued to walk down to the beach hand in hand until they found a quiet spot to rest.
They both sit down on the sand and look at the moon. Serena rests her head on Ash's shoulder as the two sit in a complete comfortable silence. That is until they hear the pattering of feet and Ash feels something jump on his free shoulder.
Ash looks at his other shoulder and remarks "Hey buddy, how have you been." Pikachu smiles and replies "Pika, Pika." Serena slightly frowns having her quite moment with Ash interrupted but then she remembers that it was her idea for Pikachu to meet them both at the beach. Her frown soon turns into a smile as she watches Sylveon approach her and exclaim happily "Veon, Syl."
Serena smiles and greets "Hi you too, so how was the walk." Pikachu pumps his fist in a very similar manner to his trainer and shouts "Pi, Pika Chu." Sylveon looks at her trainer with a nervous blush before turning her head away. Serena looks at her pokemon with a devious smile as she plan to question her on everything later.
Ash looks at the two Pokémon already out of their pokeballs and suggests "Serena, let's let the rest of our pokemon out for a bit so they all get the chance to introduce themselves." Serena nods in agreement and replies "That's a good idea Ash." She takes out 5 pokeballs from her purse and exclaims "Come on out you guys." Ash takes 5 pokeballs out of his pocket and says "You guys as well."
Ash and Serena's pokemon all emerge from their pokeballs and stand across from each other. Upon seeing each other and their trainers they all start to interact and introduce themselves. Serena's Pikachu instantly sees some of the strong looking Pokémon in front of her and runs behind Sylveon to hide. Meanwhile her Absol nods to Ash's pokemon before lying down under a nearby palm tree.
Serena fails to notice her pokemon playing up as she finds herself in awe, seeing Ash's Alola team in person for the first time. She smiles and comments "Wow Ash, I've never seen any of these pokemon before." Ash stands next to his Alola team and remarks "Let me introduce you to them all. First up is Torracat, as you know I found him caring for an elderly stoutland who sadly passed. Since then he's been a loyal friend and we've both been working hard to achieve our promises to his late friend. This here is Toucannon, I found him badly injured by a wild Grubbin in a forest. I helped get him get back to full strength and get his home back for his friends, after that we decided to travel together to keep getting stronger. This is Kommo-o, he hatched from an egg a few months ago. He may look intimidating but he's friendly. Unless he sees a strong opponent to face then he's ready to battle, he's even saved me from a couple tricky spots. Next up is Lycanroc, I found him beat up in an underground fight club when he was a little Rockruff. We both worked together to get stronger and we unlocked his true potential, Lycanroc dusk form. He's been reliable in tough battles ever since."
Serena smiles at pokemon and greets "It's nice to meet you all." The 4 pokemon smile back with happy smiles. Truth is Pikachu told them all about Serena and they've been excited to meet her. Especially since the rumour is she makes the most delicious poke puffs. Ash smiles as his pokemon begin to interact with his girlfriend until he realises one was missing.
He points behind Serena and says "Oh and there's also that one there." Serena looks behind her to see a massive palm tree like pokemon completely towering over her. She takes a step back and asks nervously "Um Ash, what is that thing."
Ash reassuringly smiles and remarks "Don't worry Serena, that's my friend Exeggutor. That's how they look in Alola due to the harsh sunlight. I found Exeggutor being bullied by other Exeggutor for being different, but he helped save those same bullies when they were in trouble. Since then he's been travelling with me, he may be tall on the outside but he's a real gentle giant watch." Exeggutor smiles a goofy smile before he leans down and nuzzles Serena cheek with his head." Serena giggles at the tall pokemon and comments "Your really cute." Exeggutor accepts the compliment and raises his head up to his usual height.
Serena looks at Ash's 6 pokemon and then at her boyfriend himself. She smiles and remarks "They all look so happy, I can tell you have raised them well. Ash smiles and replies "Thanks Serena." He then glances over at Serena's pokemon and comments "I could say the same about your pokemon." He approaches the 4 in sight and says "Sylveon, Altaria, Braxien, Pancham. It's good to see you all again."
The 4 pokemon let out their respective cries Before they all jump up and tackle Ash into a hug. The tackle knocks Ash to the ground as the raven haired trainer laughs. Serena's pokemon all nuzzle up to Ash and let him know that they've missed him. Serena frowns at her pokemon's actions and pouts "He's my boyfriend not yours guys." Ash laughs at his girlfriends antics and replies "Looks like someone's jealous." Serena pulls a fake sad face as Ash shakes off the sand and gets back to his feet.
He chuckles at his girlfriend's clearly fake reaction to her pokemon's reaction, when he spots a black and white pokemon sitting under the shade of a palm tree. Ash approaches Absol and kneels next to her. He smiles at the dark type Pokémon and says "So your Absol huh, thank you for taking care of Serena for me." Absol stands up and bows it's head to Ash. Ash smiles and lightly pets Absol's head.
Serena stands there with conflicted feelings. On the one hand she's happy Absol actually acknowledged Ash and opened up to him. A part of her was scared Absol might just fire a dark pulse at him considering some of the other situations she's found herself in. However on the other, she is really and confused and a bit upset that Absol seems to like Ash more than her. She gets that Ash is pretty perfect but she is her pokemon not his.
Confused, she takes a conflicted sigh and remarks "Wait, why does Absol let you pet her but she won't let me." Ash looks to his girlfriend with a raised eyebrow and replies "Really, that's odd." Serena nods her head in agreement and elaborates "Absol won't let me pet her or perform with her. It's like I'm not good enough for her. She hardly even listens sometimes." Ash takes in Serena's story and remembers getting himself into a few similar situations on his travels. He tilts his head and asks "Interesting, so how did the two of you meet."
"I was in a spot of trouble with some pokemon poachers when she jumped in and chased them away. Afterwards, I held out a pokeball and asked if she would like to join and she pressed the pokeball and went inside itself." Ash hears Serena's story and finds it very similar to one of his other captures. He takes a second to figure it out before he clocks it. He raises his eyebrow and exclaims "Wow, that's similar to how I met Greninja."
Serena raises in and replies in a downbeat tone "Really, but you an Greninja never had the problems we had. Come to think of it, since we've been travelling together you've never had any issues with they pokemon." Ash shakes his head and replies "Maybe not the same issues you had but we had the some problems when we were mastering our bond phenomenon. Truth is Serena I've had lots of issues raising pokemon especially my strongest ones. Even Pikachu gave me some tough times."
Serena remembers back to Kalos and Ash and Greninja's falling out. Now that she thinks about it Ash did have a lot of issues raising Froakie but in the end he managed to become one of Ash's strongest pokemon. If she and Absol put in a similar level of effort maybe they can make it there too. She turns to her boyfriend and asks "I guess you did and you solved that by working together."
Ash smiles at his girlfriend and replies "That's right, truths is I'm not sure why she doesn't trust you to perform with her. But after watching you battle, you both looked like a strong team and I can tell you both have a special bond. I know that eventually Absol will trust you if you keep working hard." Serena smiles hearing her boyfriend's positive energy. She raises a fist and shouts "Your right Ash, I won't give up till the very end." Ash smiles lovingly at his girlfriends upbeat attitude and replies "That's the Serena I know and love."
The two stare at each other with small grins, until Ash notices a little yellow pokemon hiding behind Serena's leg. Ash takes a closer look and asks "Serena is that a Pikachu." Serena looks down at her baby Pikachu and says "Right, I forgot to introduce you." She picks up the baby Pokémon and exclaims "This is Pikachu, she is a only a baby as you can see but she is a really great dancer and performer. The only problem is she is really shy. She only perform when no one's around and she'll only be happy if she's with me or Sylveon."
Ash smiles at the baby Pokémon and seduces
"That's the exact same problem we had with Sylveon when she was just an Eevee."
Serena nods in agreement and replies "That's right it's a little bit of role reversal now. Pikachu is so young though Sylveon has kind of become like her mother."
Ash looks at the Pokémon in Serena's hand and thinks about introducing himself. However even from here he can see the young Pokémon looking at him in fear. Him or one of his other pokemon trying to introduce themselves at this point might not be a good idea. However he does have one pokemon that could be able to bond with the young Pokémon but how to make the introduction work. He thinks for a little longer before an idea pops into his head.
He smiles and says Hey Serena, you wouldn't happen to have any pokepuffs on you right now." Serena nods and replies "Of course I do, there in my purse." She puts Pikachu down and opens up her purse. She goes around each of the Pokémon and hands them out a poke puff each. Ash's pokemon take a bite and find themselves drooling over the flavour. Serena walks over to Ash's Pikachu last and hands him one. Pikachu smiles getting a sweet treat of Serena for the first time in ages and exclaims "Pi, Pika, Chu."
Ash interrupts Pikachu's excitement and asks "Serena, can you give my Pikachu two?" Serena frowns and says in a commanding tone "Ash it's not healthy to give Pikachu too many. You wouldn't want him being sluggish on the battlefield right. Ash smiles reassuringly and replies "Don't worry he's not going to eat two."Serena catches on to Ash's plan and says with a small smile "Oh I see what your up to." She leans down and hands Pikachu a second poke puff.
Pikachu smiles and excitedly exclaims "Pika, Pi, Pikachu!" Ash shakes his head at his first Pokémon and commands "Sorry buddy, that one's not for you. Can you go and introduce yourself to Serena's Pikachu with a pokepuff." Pikcahu let's out a sigh before he perks up with excitement at getting to meet another of his one species. He nods to Ash and goes to see Serena's Pikachu.
He runs over towards the baby Pokémon and holds out a poke puff in front of him. Serena's Pikachu looks at the older Pikachu and shakes with fear as she takes off and hides behind her trainers leg. Serena looks down at her pokemon with a reassuring smile and says "It's okay Pikachu, he's really nice. I promise you he won't hurt you." Serena's Pikachu looks at the older Pikachu and feels conflicted on what to do. She continues to contemplate what to do until she feels a soft touch on her shoulder. She looks back to see Sylveon with a smile as she exclaims in an encouraging tone "Syl, Veon."
Pikachu looks at the Pokémo, who she considers her mother, and let's of a small cute smile. She slowly moves away from her trainers leg and approaches Ash's Pikachu. He holds out the poke puff in front of him and happily greets "Pi, Pi pika chu." Serena's young Pikachu takes a deep breath before she takes the poke puff into her hands. She takes a bite and smiles at Ash's Pikachu before bowing her head in a thanks. The older Pikachu gives her a thumbs up before running away to jump up on Ash's shoulder. Serena's Pikachu watches the older Pikachu's actions and copies them, jumping up on to Serena's shoulder. Ash's Pikachu cheers at the younger Pikachu following his actions as she smiles a prideful smile in response. Sylveon watches the two interacting from a far with a smile on her face.
Ash pats his Pikachu's head and says "Good job buddy." Serena smiles to her Pikachu and remarks "See I told you he's nice. It looks like you've found yourself a friend." Serena's Pikachu smiles at her trainer and lets off a happy "Pi, Pika Chu!"
Serena giggles as Ash remarks "Looks like your Pikachu's found herself a mentor. I'm sure we can help get over her little shyness problem in no time." Serena smiles at the two and replies in a grateful tone "That would be a big help! It would also be great if Pikachu could help look after her sometimes. I know me and Sylveon would appreciate it."
Ash nods and remarks "We've got it right buddy." Pikachu pumps his fist in response. Serena giggles and remarks, while stealing a glance at Sylveon "Looks like Pikachu has found herself a father figure to go along with her mom." Sylveon heavily blushes and charges up a moonblast to fire at her trainer. Serena giggles at her pokemons response and replies "Don't worry I had the same problem as you for a while."
Ash turns to his Pikachu and says "I'm sure you and Sylveon will do a great job, right buddy." Ash's Pikachu just looks confused and exclaims
"Pika, Pi." Serena shakes her head at the obvious comparison and comments "He's just as dense as you." Ash scratches his head nervously and replies "Well he is my Pikachu."
The two sit back down as they let their pokemon all head off to play on the beach. After a few minutes of silence, Ash asks "So Serena, how was your celebration party for your festival victory?" Serena smiles at happy memory and answers "Yeah it was really fun, loads of our friends were there and I met May. She told me how you two used to travel together. She is a really nice person, me and her did some training as well. She's a really strong trainer, me and Absol tried but we couldn't beat her Blaziken."
Ash smiles hearing May's name again. It's been a really long time since the two spoke and he's happy to hear she's been doing well and progressing towards her dream, He exclaims with happiness in his tone "Wow it's good to hear she's doing well, I hope we can all meet together again someday it would be nice to catch up with all my friends. It's been along time since I've seen some of them and I'd love to introduce you to them."Serena smiles and replies "Sure, I would love to meet all your friends too. I'm sure their all good people." Ash thinks about all his previous friends and travel companions and comments "Yeah their all pretty great. Although I'd trade them all away for you in a heartbeat."
Serena shakes her head and says in a slightly annoyed tone "You don't have to lie Ash." The raven haired trainer pulls her slightly closer and says in a heat felt tone "I'm serious Serena, I'd trade all my adventures and memories to spend just a day with you." Serena feels her heart burst with emotion as she hears Ash's words. She pecks his cheek as a thank you and places her head on his shoulder.
The two sit in another silence with not another word needing to be said on the topic. The feeling was mutual. After a few minutes of silence a question pops into Ash's head "So did Gary behave himself at the party." Serena giggles and replies in a sarcastic tone "This is Gary we're talking about." Ash shakes his head and asks in a knowing tone "So what did he do?"
Serena sighs and looks up to her boyfriend with a sorry expression. She answers in a sincere tone "I'm sorry Ash, I don't really know what happened but one thing lead to the other and I ended up getting a little drunk. Your not mad at me are you." Ash shakes his head, not even sure why Serena asked that question and replies "Serena It's fine don't worry about it. I trust you completely and it was your party so you could do what you want. It's not up to me how much you drink or what you do. Sure I can advise you and make sure you don't do anything silly but as long as you got home safe that's all that really matters."
Serena smiles at her boyfriends response. It's exactly what she wanted to hear. They both have full trust in each other no matter what. She smiles and says "Thanks Ash, for the record though I'm not sure how I got home. My mom told me that someone's Charizard took me home on its back before my Pokémon took me to bed."
Ash thinks for a second as two things pop into his mind. First of all thank Arceus she got home safe. If something happened to Serena while she was in her drunken state. Well let's just say he would never forgive himself. The other thought is that he's forgot he can let two Pokémon know their mission is now over.
He raises a eyebrow and says "A Charizard huh, that reminds me." He stands up, leaving Serena with a a small frown as she was really enjoying her shoulder pillow and shouts "You two can come out now!"
Serena raises her eyebrow and asks "Who are you talking to Ash." He winks at his girlfriend and replies "You'll see." Suddenly a green blur rushes across the beach at the high speed until it stops in front of Ash. A Sceptile stands right in front of the raven haired trainer and nods. Serena looks at the Pokémon and mutters "Huh a Sceptile."
Ash looks back at his girlfriend and comments "Not just him."Suddenlya large roar can be heard above them as a beam of flames fires towards Ash. Ash screams in pain as he gets cooked by a flamethrower before a Charizard lands next to him.
Ash shakes off the soot and greets "Hey Charizard, that flamethrower just keeps getting stronger and Sceptile it's good to see you as well. You've got really fast you know that." Ash and Sceptile fist bump then him and Charizard do the same as the three smile at each other. Serena takes a second to process everything. First of the Charizard is definitely the same one that Ash saved her with when they confessed in Hoenn and the way they all interact leads her to believe that Sceptile is also his Pokémon.
She puts her hand on her hips and questions "So Charizard and Sceptile are your pokemon correct." Ash nods in confirmation and replies "Yeah that's correct, Charizard you already met and Sceptile I met back in the Hoenn region."Serena looks at the Sceptile in question. For some reason he looks quite similar but she can't seem to figure out why. A few seconds later she realises the answer and exclaims "I recognise you. Your the Sceptile who helped me when I was in trouble with those creeps with Gary."
Sceptile nods it's head yes with his usual twig in his mouth. Ash looks at the grass type with an appreciative look and says "Wow I had no idea. Thanks for that Sceptile." The grass type nods to his trainer as the two fist pump.
Serena turns her attention to the other of Ash's old pokemon and questions "And you must be the Charizard who took me home after the party." Charizard gives a thumbs up and a smile towards the honey blonde girl. Ash gasps in surprise and exclaims "Really Charizard, you let Serena fly on your back alone. Usually you won't fly with anyone unless I'm with you." Charizard nods it's head to Ash. Ash smiles at his first powerhouse and deduces "Well Charizard, I guess you really like Serena."
Charizard smiles back to Ash before flying over towards Serena and lowering its head to be petted. Serena pats Charizard and says "Thanks for all your help Charizard." The fire type Pokémon happily roars as Serena rubs his chin. Seeing the honey blonde girl comfort Charizard, Sceptile rushes over to be petted too. Serena laughs and uses her free hand to pet Sceptile. She exclaims in a happy tone "You too Sceptile."
After she finishes petting the two aces, she hands them both a pokepuff as a thank you. Ash looks at the two ace pokemon and suggests "Why don't you two introduce yourself to my other pokemon before heading back to Kanto." They both nod and walk over to Ash and Serena's other pokemon to introduce themselves.
The couple watch them start to interact with the others. Thankfully Charizard didn't see any Pokémon here as a challenge so everyone was getting along just fine. After a few seconds, Serena looks at Ash with an accusing look and states "So I'm guessing you sent them to watch over me while I was in Hoenn." Ash scratches his head and replies nervously "Sorry, I guess I was worried something bad might happen."
Serena sighs and says with a small frown "You can be really over protective you know that." Ash sighs and replies in a downbeat tone "Yeah I'm sorry about that." Serena smiles and shakes her head before she exclaims "It's fine don't apologise, I'm glad you worry about me. It makes me feel happy Ash." She runs forward and tackles Ash to the floor with a big hug. She nuzzles her head against his chest and exclaims "Thank you." Ash smiles at his girlfriend, after the initial shock of getting knocked off his feet and replies "It's no problem princess."
The two then sit down on the beach and stare at the moon again. They stay silent for around a minute before Ash speaks up, feeling nostalgic about the whole situation. "Hey Serena this remind you of anything." Serena raises her eyebrow and questions "Huh what do you mean Ash?"
Ash shakes his head and exclaims "Really? You don't remember the last day of professor Oaks summer camp." Serena takes a second to think before the happy memory pops in he head. She takes a second to remember the details. She is actually kind of impressed that Ash remembers anything other than their first meeting. She'd always been hesitant to bring up anything that happened at that summer camp considering the last time they spoke about it Ash said he didn't remember her initially. However it seems as though the intial revival of one memory may have lead to a few more sprouting up.
She smiles and replies "Oh yeah how could I forget." They start to recall the event as the two flashback. Ash narrates "We both snuck out of our tents late at night to see each other one more time before the camp ended. We both laid down on the hill and sat and watched the stars I remember we were having a pretty good time just enjoying each others company. That's when you started to tear up."

"Serena what's a matter," a young Ash says. A young Serena replies with teary eyes "Ash, I'm really going to miss you. Your my only friend I've got, back in viridian no one really likes me." Ash reassuringly smiles at the young girl and says in an upbeat tone "Serena I promise, I'll visit you next time I'm in the city." Serena smiles weakly at Ash's positive attitude she's come to admire in their few days together and replies "Thanks Ash. I don't know what I'm going to do. I'm going to miss you so much. I'm not sure how I'll cope on my own again."
Ash looks over to the young straw hat girl and replies in a heartfelt tone "I'm going to miss you too Serena, but you need to keep smiling and being happy. No matter what the world throws at you. No matter what happens Serena I'll always be there when you need me because that's what friends do." Serena blushes at the young boys upbeat nature and replies in a nervous tone "Thanks Ash." She leans over and pecks Ash on the cheek.
Ash looks completely confused and remarks in. dense tone "Huh what was that for." Serena smiles with a small blush and replies sheepishly "It's just so you won't forget about me." Ash smiles and answers "Don't worry Serena I won't. Anyway we should be getting back before professor Oaks finds out we're gone." Serena clasps her hands together and nervously asks "Okay but can you hold my hand, I'm scared of the forest at night." Ash let's off a toothy grin and replies Sure." The two kids hold hands and walk out of the forest and back to the camp again.

Back in the present time, Serena smiles and says to her boyfriend "Even back then you knew how to cheer me up." Ash looks at his girlfriend's and replies "Yeah I guess, but the truth is I was super sad that you were leaving too. Even though I was sad, I knew that I had to be strong to make you happy."
Serena tilts her head and replies in a shocked tone "Really I had no idea." Ash nods in a confirmation and exclaims "It's true, but I had to be strong for you because that's what freinds do, well lovers now. I had to smile and be happy to make the world a happier place."
Serena sits up with a loving smile on her face. She puts her hand on her heart and exclaims in a sweet tone "Ash thank you, I love you so much." Ash sits up and turns to Serena with a similar loving smile and replies in a caring tone "Me too Serena, I love you."
The two lovers stare at each other for a second and both give off loving smiles. It's soon that their gazes drift down towards each others lips. Their bodies start to move on their own as they both lean in simultaneously. They close the gap slowly as they both feel each others breath against each others faces. Serena reaches out her hands and uses them to cup Ash's z mark cheeks. Ash reaches out one of his hand and places it on the back of Serena's head. They both tilt their heads slightly as they pucker up. They both stop breathing as the gap between their lips closes until the gap becomes non existent. Their lips meet engage in their own little dance as they share their first kiss on the beach.
The kiss lasts all but a few seconds until they slightly separate before going back in for another. The two deepen the kiss as Serena takes her hands off Ash's cheeks and wraps her arms around his neck.
Right now, Serena is in absolute dream land. She is sat on a beach sharing her first kiss with the boy she's always loved. She used to turn her nose up at those princess stories where the princess would always end up with the boy she loved no matter what the circumstances. Well right now she was living that fairytale and she couldn't be happier.
Meanwhile Ash was in heaven as Serena's soft lips continuously connected with his. He enjoyed their previous kisses on the cheek and such but this one felt special. Serena's lip tasted like strawberry and Ash had a new favourite flavour. The softness of her lips was a feeling he couldn't describe. All he knew is that he absolutely loved it.
The two continue their dance of lips, only slightly pulling back before smacking lips together again, for a few minutes until they both remember that they do indeed need to breath.
They break apart and smile at each other with loving looks and heat on their cheeks. They stay silent for a few seconds as they both take in the moment that they'd never forget for the rest of their lives. Eventually Ash breaks the silence and says with a small smirk "I bet you've waited too long to do that." Serena blushes and turns away from her boyfriend. She murmurs in an embarrassed tone "Stop teasing me."
Ash Laughs and replies "Sorry Serena, come here and I'll make it up to you." She turns around with a smile and replies "okay." She lies down with Ash, resting her head on his chest as the two look up at the stars. Serena takes a deep breath and whispers in a loving tone "I could get used to this." Ash pecks his girlfriend on the forehead and whispers "Me too."
The two lie there for a few minutes in perfect silence as nothing more needed to be said. The kisses spoke for themselves. They loved each other and they loved each over a lot.
Lying in Ash's muscular arms and resting her head on his soft yet firm chest, Serena found herself feeling safe and comfortable. So safe and comfortable in fact that she fell asleep. Ash hears her soft snores and looks at her with a smile. He thinks to himself "Wow she must be tired but it's not all that surprising. She's had along day after all. The jet lag plus my surprise, teaching and performing. Not to mention the kiss just now."
Ash takes off his jacket and wraps it around Serena. He then grabs his pokeballs and returns his pokemon as well as Serena's. He gestures to Sceptile and Charizard to come with him to the professor house to stay the night before flying back in the morning. The two ace Pokémon nod and carry Serena's bags for their trainer.
Ash looks down at his very own sleeping beauty on his chest as she lightly snores. He thinks about waking her but instead decides it's best to let her sleep considering she's had a long day and she looks pretty cute like that. He instead decides that it would be best to carry her back. He lifts her up bridal style and carries her back to the professors house.
He makes his way there rather quickly and sneaks in quietly. He makes his way to the spare room and puts Serena on her bed. He tucks her in to her bed and gives her a quick kiss on the forehead. He takes one last look at his sleeping girlfriend and whispers "Good night my angel."
He smiles and gets off the bed and starts to walk away to set up the other bed in the room. However he is stopped in his tracks as a half asleep Serena grabs his arm and pulls him into the bed. She places her head on him and mutters "Ash don't leave me." Ash is puzzled and tries to get up but Serena yanks him back an whispers "Ash stay with me. I feel comfortable with you."
Ash lies down and thinks to himself "Well I can't move but if she wants me to share her bed with me I guess it's okay. As long as she is comfortable then I've got no issues."
He makes himself comfortable as a half asleep Serena giggles and repositions herself so that her head is resting back on her favourite pillow. Ash smiles and turns to Serena. He pecks her forehead one more time and whispers "Good night Serena." He turns the lights off in the room and the two drift off to sleep in each others embrace.

Well that was cute
This chapter took forever to finish simply because I was trying to make sure everything felt right.
But it was a lot of fun writing the two together and I hope it's just as much fun to read.
I tried to balance the chapter out and not over load it with just amour for amours sake and I think I did a decent job for a first date.
The next few chapters will be amour based as you would expect but there will some lore and such mixed in.
