Earlier in the morning, Ash and the gang walk to board the ferry back to melemele island at the harbour. Ash is full of high spirits and the group as defenitly notices that the raven haired trainer is more upbeat than usual today. As they walk towards the harbour, Ash leading the group, Mallow questions "Ash, you seem very excited this morning. Any particular reason why?" Ash look back with and excited smile and says "I'm excited to see everyone at the school and see what kukui wants from me that's all." He adds in his head "And to see Serena again."
Lillie tilts her head and replies "I guess that makes sense." Kiawe chuckles and jokes
"I don't know something is up here, Ash only usually gets this excited over food or battling." The three burst out laughing as Lillie giggles "Yeah that's our Ash."
They turn to look at Ash expecting him to be annoyed at this comment but instead he looks like he's completely spacing out. With Ash he is currently channeling his aura to look through Serena's eyes. He spots she is in a plane just approaching the Alola region. Seeing she is nearly here he decides to deliver a welcome message. He says through aura "Hey Serena, I hope you have a great day at Melemele island. I'll be there soon, sorry I can't be there today but I need to finish off my island challenge but I'll be back in Melemele soon please stay there and i will find you once I arrive. I promise I won't be too long babe. Please take care and I'll see you soon."
Ash smiles and awaits Serena's reply when he is interrupted by Kiawe's booming voice "Hey earth to Ash your spacing out again." Ash's aura un focuses as his eyes spring open. He scratches his head nervously and says "Oh sorry my bad. So what were we talking about."
"Your excitement," Lillie remarks in a short tone. Ash sweat drops and replies "Oh right, it's just like I said I'm excited to see everyone that's it." The three look at Ash with unconvinced looks until Mallow pops a question the three had been wondering. "Ash can we ask you a question." Ash smiles and says "Yeah sure go ahead."
"What are you doing when you space out like that?" Kiawe adds "Come to think of it you do space out a lot." Ash panics and quickly tries to come up with a solution. First option is to tell the truth and admit he's taking to or watching his girlfriend. It may seem like the best idea to not lie and just straight up admit it considering their all going meet by the end of the day anyway. However there are two issues. One is that they might not believe in his aura abilities considering they are a little far fetched. The other is that they are in public and with their reactions are loud enough then not only is that the secrets about aura out but also potentially his relationship with Serena out in the open too. However a complete lie and brushing it off as nothing will only raises their suspicions further.
In the end he settles on the combination of them both and says "Um, I was just talking with Greninja." The gang look at Ash with shocked faces and at the same time shout "What!" Lillie is the first to recover from the initial shock and asks "Um how?" Kiawe shakes his head and adds "This I got to hear."
Ash smiles reminiscing about the pokemon closest to his heart and explains "Me and Greninja's hearts are synchronised, so we're always connected. We can communicate through our thoughts alone and we always know exactly what the other is doing at all times. Even when we're apart, we're never really because our bond never allows us to be. No matter what our hearts will always be one." He decides to leave out any mention of aura as not to confuse them further.
The group all shout at the same time "What!" Ash chuckles and says "I'm sorry I just haven't told you guys." Kiawe shakes his head and says with a stunned look "Ash a day doesn't go by where you don't surprise us all." Ash laughs and says while
Scratching the back of his head "Yeah I know, that's what I'm here for." Just at that moment the ferry pulls up at the docks. Ash beams a smile at the boat. The boat that takes him to where he wants be and says "Come on guys we need to go." The three nod and board the ferry back to Melemele island. Ash stand at the front of the boat looking at the horizon with a smile on his face and mutters "I won't be long Serena, I promise it won't be long."

Intro
With Serena in her plane, she is flying over the Alola region when she receives the previous message. She smiles hearing Ash's welcome message and replies back "Ash it's okay, I know you need to finish your challenge. Good luck and give it your best. I'll be rooting for you and I can't wait to see you. Loves you!" After she sends her reply she feels the communication break quicker than usual sending a chill down her spine. Initially she frowns, thinking that their previous longer term communication was just a fluke but she quickly defers that Ash must have been knocked out of his communication by his friends questioning him.
The plane flies over the 4 islands giving Serena a great view of the tropical paradise. Serena turns her head and says "It's beautiful guys don't you think." All of her pokemon nod and smile except for Absol, who is asleep on a chair a little further away from the rest. As they continue to stare out the window there is an announcement from the pilot. "We are beginning our descent on to Melemele island. Please fasten your seatbelts and return your pokemon. Serena returns her 6 pokemon and puts on her seatbelt as the plane lands at melemele island.
After a successful landing, Serena gets up off her seat and walks to the exit of the plane. She opens the door and steps outside as the bright sun beams off her skin. She takes in the Alola air and, after a deep breath announces "Serena from Vaniville town is finally here."
As she says this she takes a step of the plane with a beaming smile. However that smile quickly turns into a grin as she quickly gets surrounded by a large number of journalists. The journalist hold cameras and microphones up to her face and bombarded with questions.
"Serena why are you in the Alola region?"
"Are you entering the new Alola league?"
"Are you here to find the Kalos hero?"
"Miss Yvonne, are you here to help establish showcases in Alola?"
"Serena, can you comment on the rumours that you are currently looking for a relationship?"
"Miss Yvonne, are you going to challenge Aria again any time soon?"
Serena sighs at the journalist persistent and stupid questions. The fact that they were waiting for her at the airport is bad enough but to ask so many stupid things is a little blood boiling. She puts on a fake smile and announces "I'm just here to relax and take a vacation. No more questions please."
"Miss Yvonne, will sign some autographs for us?" A group of younger girls asks. Serena puts on a more genuine smile and says "sure." She smiles and signs some autographs while sending out her Braxien to help her deal with the fans and with those asking for pictures. Eventually the crowd of fans disperse with smiles on their faces as Serena is approached by a man in a lab coat.
He bows in front of her and says "Ah Serena, it is a pleasure to finally meet you in person." Serena smiles and replies "You must be professor Kukui, it's nice to meet you." Kukui smiles and remarks "Serena I must say, it is very kind of you to come to our little region. I hope your presence here will help us all." Serena is a little confused by as to how she can help but she just smiles and says "Sure, I'll help however I can."
Kukui smiles and says "As I expected just like the other one said. Anyway let's get going, we don't want to keep my wife waiting." Serena beams a smile and remarks "Sure and thank you for picking me up from the airport."
"It's no trouble Serena, now come on we're parked over this way," Kukui says with an amused smile on his face. Serena and Kukui make their way to his car and get in. Once they are all set drive off from the airport towards the professors house.
Once they drive off kukui and Serena begin to talk as Serena looks out the window at the Alola landscape with wide eyes and a smile on her face. Serena marvels at the tropical island and comments "Wow this place is so beautiful, I can't believe I've never been before." Kukui nods and says "Your right, Alola is a beautiful region with great tradition and lots of pokemon cool pokemon as well." Serena watches out the window and tries to spot any new pokemon. She smiles as a Cutiefly flies by the window and gives her a little smile. Serena gaps in awe and says "Wow that one is so cute." Kukui laughs and replies "That's why we call it cutiefly."
Serena continues to gaze around at the many beautiful landscapes and the many new pokemon around her. She smiles and says "There is so many new Pokémon I've never seen before. This is so cool." Kukui chuckles to himself and comments in his head "Just like Ash." Eventually after a long drive Kukui drives across a bridge and on to a beach.
Serena gazes at the ocean and at the soft glowing sand. She smiles and remarks "This beach is so beautiful, I think it would be a great spot for some performance training later." Kukui chuckles again but this time slightly louder. Serena tilts her head towards the Professor and asks "Huh, what's so funny." Kukui shakes his head and replies "It's nothing, just that you and Ash had the same idea. When he first saw this beach his first thought was to use it for training too."
Serena beams a smile with a small blush on her face and exclaims "Really? Well I guess we are in sync after all." Kukui chuckles and replies in a little hearted tone "I think it would be a safe bet to say you are. He pulls up he car and announces "My house is just up here on the left, we can drop your stuff off and introduce you to my wife. Trust me she is dying to meet you." Serena smiles politely and answers "That's nice of you but I can camp or stay at the pokemon centre. There's no need for me to intrude." Kukui shakes his head, feeling a bit insulted, and replies "Nonsense, you and Ash are family and family are welcome here at any time."
Serena smiles and thinks to herself "Ash was right, Professor Kukui is a really nice person. I've only just met him and he feels like a big brother."she bows her head respectfully and says aloud "Thank you professor." The two exit the car and grab Serena's rather stacked cases before heading inside.
They both enter through the front door and place Serena's bags by the stairs. Kukui shouts "Hey honey we're here." Burnett enters from the kitchen with a smile on her face and says "Hey honey and welcome Serena. It's an honour to finally meet you and congratulations on your win at the grand festival, your performance was truly brilliant." Serena bows her head a little and replies "Thank you Professor Burnett, it's a pleasure to meet you both too and thank you for your hospitality." Burnett smiles at the teenage girl and answers "It's no problem at all. Why don't you drop your stuff off to the spare bedroom and I'll ready us some breakfast."
"That sounds wonderful and thank you both again," Serena says with a grateful smile. She then runs up stairs and drops off her bags as Burnett serves up breakfast. Serena organised her things in her new room before making her way down to the breakfast table. Serena and the two professors finish their food and begin to talk.
"Wow thanks Professor Burnett that was really good," Serena beams after finishing her food. Burnett smiles and replies "Really thanks Serena, I'll make it for you tomorrow as well if you want." Before Serena can answer Kukui shakes his head and states "No you won't honey, I'll be cooking tomorrow it's my day remember." Burnett sighs and responds "We have a guest babe, no one wants to be eat your sorry excuse for a meal.
The two start to argue back and forth like an old married couple as Serena just nervously laughs. Eventually Burnett stops the argument and admits "Okay I'll admit you do make a decent meal from time to time." Kukui puts on a smug smile and remarks "Thanks babe."
Burnett turns her attention back to their guest and asks "So Serena, what are your plans." Serena smiles and replies "I'm just here to see Ash and support him in the Alola league. That's the only thing I plan on doing while I'm here. Do you guys know when he'll be back?"
Kukui nods and says "I see, well he should be back within the next few days. You know he really did make his way through these two islands at breakneck speed so that you wouldn't have to wait long for him." Serena feels her heart melt that Ash is pushing himself through his challenge so she doesn't have to wait so long and replies "He's so sweet."
Burnett shakes her head at the honey blondes clear affinity for Ash and ask "You know if your going to be here for a few days, without Ash around, then why not spend some time at the school with Kukui's class. You could teach them about contests and showcases."
Serena looks up with an astonished face and questions "Me teach?" She shakes her head and sighs "I'm not sure if I can." Kukui shakes his head and encourages "Of course you can, the kids will love you. They really responded well to one of Ash's lessons so I'm sure they'll love yours too."
"Yeah but Ash is a great teacher, he gives people great advice all the time. I'm still working on that part," Serena replies in a conflicted tone. Burnett smiles and remarks "Well this will be a good learning experience for you then." Serena thinks for a second about if taking a lesson at the school could be a good idea. On the one hand it would give her something to do to take her mind off Ash for a bit and she's always been good at working with kids so that should be easy. On the other hand she is nervous about giving out bad advice or her lesson being dull. Or what if the kids don't like performing and instead just do what they want. She thinks it over until one piece of advice makes this decision easy. "Even if you fail you'll still be left with something, nothing we do is ever pointless."
She smiles at the Professor and says "Yeah your right, okay I'll do it." Kukui smiles in responseans remarks "Fantastic, we can head off to the school in a bit and you can take my class for the day if your interested." Serena nods in cofirmation and says "Yeah sure." Kukui claps his hands together and exclaims "That's perfect and that leads me on perfectly to the thing I wanted to ask you about."
Serena raises her eyebrow and questions "What's that."
"As you know me and my wife are hosting the first ever Alola league and we were thinking about what we should do for our opening ceremony. Most ceremonies are pretty boring and vague so we want to switch things up and add some flavour to the experience. What we would like to ask you is if you like to perform at our opening ceremony."
Serena gaps in shock and confirms "Really me, are you sure." Burnett smiles and responds "Of course we're sure, it would be an honour to have you there." Serena thinks it over for a second and realises the magnitude of the task. No performer has ever performed at a Pokémon league to get knowledge. Being the first one to do so could be ground breaking and help raise the stock of performances and showcases. It makes her slightly nervous that she will be performing in front of her biggest crowd yet but she's more than willing to give it a try.
Serena puts on competitive grin and pumps her fist as she exclaims "Of course I'll do it, thank you so much for the chance." Kukui pumps his own fist in celebration and states "No thank you Serena, with you and Ash here now there's no way we our league won't be a success. This will definitely help put Alola back on the map." Serena smiles and replies "I am really happy to be of help and anything else you need please let me know."
Burnett chuckles and remarks "That's the same thing Ash said." Kukui shakes his head and chuckles "You have no idea." Serena let's off an embarrassed smile and says "I promise we don't do this on purpose." Kukui smiles back and gets up from the table. "Anyway we should get going to the school, we'll see you later dear." Burnett smiles and says "Of course, stay safe both of you."They both smile and wave as they exit the house and head to the school.
Both Serena and Kukui arrive at the school where they both head to Kukui's scheduled class. It's the same class Ash taught when he first arrived in the Alola. Kukui enters the class first while Serena waist by the door to be introduced. Kukui stands at the front and greets "Alola class." All the kids say back at the same time "Alola Professor."
The professor smiles at his class and announces "Today class we are going to be doing something a bit different. Todays lesson is going to be on pokemon contests and pokemon showcases but I won't be the one teaching this, no today we have a guest teacher. In fact fact we have a world famous performer. Please welcome Miss Yvonne."
Serena takes a deep breath before she creaks open the door handle and enters the class. She stands at the door with a small smile on her face. She waves at the kids and greets "Hi everyone, it's a pleasure to meet you all." Upon Serena's appearance one young girl completely loses it and shouts with excitement "AHHH it's Serena! It's Kalos princess!"
The whole class mummers with excitement before the children rush off their seats and surround the famous teenage performer.
"Miss Yvonne, please can I get a picture?"
Miss Yvonne, please can you sign my pokeball"
Miss Yvonne, can we see your Pokémon?"
Serena smiles at the kids and answers "Sure, if you line up then I'll sign and take a picture with you all." The children line up in front of her as Serena starts taking pictures and signing autographs. She let's Sylveon out of her pokeball for the kids to see. Thankfully Sylveon is pretty good with kids and is one of Serena's calmer pokemon, heading her trainer get a small rest bite. Serena continues to take pictures and sign autographs as Kukui laughs and remarks "See class, she handled that like a true star."
A young girl in the class beams a smile and shouts "Professor this is such a cool surprise." Kukui chuckles at the young kid's enthusiasm and says "You must admit I get the best guest teachers right." Another kid nods and says "Yeah professor your the best. First the Kalos hero, now the Kalos princess. What's next the Kalos champion."
Serena continues to sign things and is genuinely overjoyed that she is making this many kids happy. One of the reasons she loves performing is she loves to inspire others, as well as put smiles on their faces. The amount of kids smiling at just her presence is enough to let her know that she is pursuing the right career. After she finishes up her signing session everyone sits back down at their desk as Serena starts her lesson.
She stands at the front of the room and announces "So class, let me start off by answering some of your questions." A young bit puts his hand in the air and asks "Miss Yvonne, what is a pokemon contest." Serena smiles and answers "A pokemon contest is an event where coordinators gather to test their skills. First they must perform a routine with their pokemon that is voted on by the judges. If they get through the performance rounds then they compete in the battle round. There they compete in Pokémon battles with a unique twist that you can score points for adding appeal to their attacks. You can win a battle by either knocking out your opponents pokemon or by draining your opponents points. If you win the battle round then you win the contest and earn a ribbon. Earn 5 ribbons and you can enter a grand festival."
The boy nods in understanding as another raises his hand and asks another question "Miss Yvonne, what is a pokemon showcase." Serena smiles gleefully as she explains the format she is most passionate about.
"A pokemon showcase is something that is exclusive to Kalos. First of all performers compete in rookie class Pokémon showcases. There are two rounds to a Pokémon showcase, the themed performance and the freestyle performance. In the themed performance rounds the performers compete against each other in themed challenges. These could be things like: Poke puff baking, quizzes, Ryhorn herding or a fashion show amongst over things. If the crowd votes you as the best performer then you move on to the freestyle performance round where you are expected to put on your best performance possible with no restrictions. At the end of the performances the crowd votes on who the best performer was. If they vote you as the best then you earn a princess key. If you earn 3 princess keys then you are eligible to enter the master class competition. In the master class competition there is no themed performances only freestyle. If you keep winning then you'll fun yourself in the final against the Kalos Queen. Beat her and you'll be the new Kalos Queen."
The class seem satisfied with her answer as a young boy raises his hand and asks "So who is the Kalos queen." A young girl excitedly answers before Serena "I know that it's Aria." Another girl nods and says "That's right, Aria beat Miss Yvonne in last years final."
"You must hate her right Miss Yvonne," another kid questions. Serena shakes her head and replies "No not at all in fact she's one of my best friends." A boy raises his eyebrow and questions "Really? But she stopped you from achieving your dream. Shouldn't you really want to beat her."
Serena nods her head and remarks "Yeah I really do. We're rivals on stage but off it she is my friend. In fact if it wasn't for her I wouldn't be nearly as good as I am, she helped me so much when I first started performing and she was one of my inspiration to start performing in the first place."
"Wow that's really cool that you guys are friends, one girl comments. A young boy shakes his head and questions in a confused tone "Isn't that weird though, being friends with your rivals." Serena shakes her head and explains "No and when you think about it its the exact same as battling. After you battle you shake hands and move on look no matter what the result. Look at the hero and champion of Kalos for instance." A girl puts her hand up and asks "You mean Mr Ketchum and Alain right."
Serena nods and with a small smile says "Yeah that's right, remember Alain beat Mr Ketchum in Kalos league finals but right after that they shook hands and went onto battle team flare together. Same with their pokemon, Greninja and Charizard had an intense rivalry but they put that behind them and fought side by side when it mattered most. It shows you can be fierce rivals on a stage or on a battlefield but when you step off you can be friends with that person as well."
The kid nods his head and comments "Huh I guess that makes sense, thanks Miss Yvonne I'm going to remember that." Another boy puts his hand and questions "You know a lot about Mr Ketchum and Alain don't you. Why is that?"Serena panics a little that she's about to let her secret when she quickly composes herself and comes up with an answer. "I'm from kalos so of course I know a lot about them. I've met them a few times but nothing more."
Kukui looks on with a small chuckle at Serena's excuse. He turns his attention to Serena's lesson an thinks to himself "That's a great life lesson to teach. Being able to separate competition and friendships and making sure that neither get in the way of one and other. Serena smiles at the class and finishes "But remember, just because your friends that doesn't mean you don't give it your all when you face off weather that be in a performance or a battle."
A girl puts her hand up and asks with excitement in her tone "So Miss Yvonne, are you going to rematch Aria?" Serena puts a competitive grin on her face and says "Yes and this time I'm going to win and become Kalos queen." The class all cheer and tell Serena that they will be cheering her on. Serena thanks them and says that she will do her best.
After a few more questions about Serena's previous performances and contests, a small argument breaks out amongst the class about what's better. Contest or showcases. Serena thinks it over for a second before she settles the debate. I think there both great and I love competing in both. However I'll always prefer showcases. They were the first thing I competed in so of course I'll always have a soft spot for it. Plus I've always enjoyed performing with my Pokémon more than battling."
A girl puts her hand up and asks in a hopeful tone "Miss Yvonne, can you please show us one of your performances." The class erupts at the idea as another girl shouts "Please Miss Yvonne we'd love to see one of your performances in person." Serena feels a sense of pride that the kids want to see her perform so badly. She looks to Kukui for approval who nods his head.
Serena smiles and says "Sure, how about you guys and the professor go out to school grounds and take your seat. I'll come out and perform for you kids when I've gotten ready." They all cheer nod their heads in approval of Serena's statement. The kids run towards professor Kukui who leads them outside and out onto the grounds.
Once they leave, Serena pulls out a make up kit from her bag and sends out her pokemon, Altaria and Braxien to join Sylveon. She smiles at the three and says "Come on, let's get you three ready to perform." They all nod their heads as Serena dresses them up ready before changing her own outfit into one of her performance dresses in the school changing rooms. She finishes up the final touches on hair and makeup before retying her blue ribbon to her wrist. She smiles into the mirror before she makes her out the school grounds.
Serena makes her way outside and spots all the kids, sitting down, waiting for her arrival by a makeshift wooden stage. Serena puts on a smile and walks on to the make shift stage with her pokemon by her side. Kukui apologises with an embarrassed look on his face. "Unfortunately this is all I've got in terms of a stage." Serena shakes her head and replies in a sweet tone "It's fine professor don't worry. Me and my pokemon will perform on any stage. We don't perform because of the luxury, we perform because we love it." Kukui graciously nods as Serena takes centre stage.
One of the young girls in the audience shouts "Miss Yvonne your so pretty!" Serena smiles and replies "Thank you, that's very kind of you to say." Another girl gazes at Serena's three present dressed up pokemon and shots with starts in her eyes "Look at her pokemon too! They are so cute." The 3 pokemon smile at the audience before they turn towards their trainer.
Serena looks at the 3 with a determined look and asks "Are you guys ready." The pokemon nod to their trainer and match her expression. Serena smiles and shouts "Right let's begin! Altaria use moonblast blast and Braxien use hidden power." Altaria nods and creates a ball of pink mist in front of her before launching it into the air. Meanwhile Braxien twirls around her wand ans fires off 3 purple orbs into the air. The purple balls wrap around the big pink one and form into one and other. After a seconds the ball burst sending pink and purple sparkles everywhere, much to the delight of the children.
Serena moves across the stage gracefully and commands "Now Braxien use flamethrower and Sylveon use fairy wind." Braxien nods and twirls her stick around before firing off a flamethrower into the sky. Sylveon leaps into the air and flaps her ribbon feelers sending out a pink sparkling wind. The two attack lands head into the air and combine together. This creates a pink and red vortex that can be seen for miles around as the flames swirl through the air with elegance.
With Ash and the Alola gang, they are approaching the school when in the distance they spot the vortex in question. Lille gasps and shouts "What is that?" Mallows eyes sparkle as she comments "It looks so pretty." Kiawe focuses on the flames and comments "That's one powerful flamethrower."
The 3 of them run off towards the vortex, being conditioned to run towards the danger instead of away from it thanks to their time with Ash. As they run off, Ash stands there with a genuine smile on his face. "That's awesome Serena," he whispers to himself. He looks at the flames in the distance and, instead of moving towards them, takes a detour to the school buildings instead.
Back with Serena, she stand in between the firey vortex as flames swirl around her, glistening off her light complexion. Serena raises her hand and commands "Altaria, give me a hand." Altaria nods and flies through the flames with power and grace. She reaches her trainer and lifts Serena up on to her back. Altaria flies away, dancing through the flames as braxien and sylveon link arm on ribbon still using the same attacks and dance with each other with each other in complete unison as the kids cheer.
Serena and Altaria reach the top of the vortex as they both watch the flames with a smile. Serena moves her hand forward and calls out "Use hurricane." Altaria nods and flaps her wings sending pink and red flames into the air. The flames swirl through the air before they explode into bright pink, red and orange fireworks, causing the kids to watch in awe. Serena lands back on stage with Altaria as Braxien and Sylveon join the two. She puts her hands in the air and exclaims with a smile "Ta Da! And that's it!"
The kids all break out into applause and cheers as Serena catches her breath with a smile on her face. Kukui walks on to the stage while clapping his hands and says "I'm sure you'll all agree with me in saying that that was truly a special site." The kids nod in approval as the bell rings for Lunch. Kukui announces to the class "You are free to go off to Lunch now kids, we will continue you this after the break." All the kids cheer and run off to lunch.
Kukui turns to Serena and says "Serena that was an honour to see you perform in person, thank you so much." Serena shakes her head and replies "No thank you, without you I wouldn't have gotten the opportunity to perform today. Seeing all those kids with smiles on their faces has made my day so thank you." Kukui shakes his head and remarks "No your being too modest. Anyway you are welcome to join me and the other staff for lunch in the staff room if you want. Serena smiles and replies "Thanks, I'll catch up with you in a second. I'm going to go and change and set up a few things for the afternoon session. Kukui nods and exclaims "Perfect, well I'll see you there."
Serena nods walks off towards the classroom where as kukui walks across the school grounds towards the staff room. As he walks he hears a sudden stammering of feet behind him. He turns around with a stunned look on his face as he spits a familiar trio. "Professor, who was that girl and what was she doing," asks Kiawe.
"Ah kids it's good to see you again. That was miss Yvonne a pokemon performer, she was doing a demonstration of a pokemon performance. for the class," The professor relies with a smile on his face."
"A pokemon performance what does that mean," questions Lillie. Kukui explains to the group what a performance is and what showcases and contests are in a vey similar way to what Serena did earlier. After his explanation he asks "So what did you think of the performance." Mallow smiles and answers "It was really cool, her and her pokemon were amazing." Lillie nods in agreement and exclaims "Yes I agree I want to learn more about them."
Kukui smiles and announces "Well in that case, you should come to this afternoons session and tomorrows class. She's going to teach here for the next 2 days." Kiawe pumps his fist and replies "That sounds great, what do you think Ash?"
There is a moment as the group wait for Ash's response but receive non. Kiawe turns around to see that isn't there. "Wait where'd he go," he says with a confused look on his face. Kukui chuckles and informs "He was never here in the first place."
"What! But he came to the school with us where could he have gone," Mallow questions. Kukui shakes his head and replies in a nonchalant tone "Don't worry, you'll see him this afternoon after lunch in class." Kiawe raises an eyebrow and questions "Really but why'd he be in class to Learn about performances. Ash doesn't care about any of that stuff. Kukui grins and riddles "You'll figure it out, your smart kids."
They look at Kukui with puzzled looks as he turns around and heads off towards the staff room. As he walks away he grins to himself and whispers "Smooth Ash, Very smooth."
With Serena in the classroom, she has just changed back into her usual outfit after her performance and is putting down some pens and paper on the tables, ready for next lesson with the help off Sylveon. She wipes some sweat of her forehead as he places the last pen. She looks around at her handy work and exclaims "Looks like we're done setting up here Sylveon, let's go and meet the professor in the staff room. Sylveon nods and links her ribbon around her trainers arm. Serena smiles at her pokemon before she starts walking towards the exit. However as she looks up at the door. She sees a shadowy figure standing in the dark.
The figure chuckles a little and adjusts his hat to block the view to his face. Serena takes a defensive position and shouts "Who are you and why are you watching me!?" Sylveon stands in front of her trainer and readies an attack. In response the figure stays silent and grins to himselfz. "State your purpose or I will organise an attack," Serena shouts with venom in her tone.
The figure steps forward a little and says in a sincere tone "Excuse me Miss, I'm looking for a honey blonde girl about your age. She has big blue sapphire eyes kind of like you. Not sure she's quite as pretty as you though that might just be my memory playing up. Or it could just be that new outfit your wearing Serena."
The figure steps forward and tilts his hat back up revealing his entire smiling face. Serena takes a second to process what's going on. She stares at the Z mark cheeks and his auburn eyes. His messy raven hair trapped by his usual red cap.
Serena's face lights up into a smile as she runs forward while exclaiming "ASH!" She leaps forward and wraps her arms around her boyfriend, locking him in a bone crushing hug. Ash wraps his arms around her back and returns her warm embrace. They stay like that for a few seconds nothing needing to be said. Serena feels herself melting into Ash's muscular arms while Ash finds himself happier feeling Serena's warm touch.
As the two sit in their embrace, After a few seconds Ash leans his head down and whispers "Hey Serena, it's good to see you again." Serena smiles as her heart warms. She lossens her grip on Ash and places her hands on his shoulders. She gets on her toes and leans forward as her lips drift towards her boyfriend. She plants a kiss on Ash's cheek before taking a step back with a red blush on her face. Ash matches Serena's expression as he places his hand on his cheek and smiles.
Serena smiles back and winks at her boyfriend. She giggles and says "Sorry I've been waiting to do that for a while. Since you flew off back in Hoenn. I've been waiting to return that kiss. Ash shakes his head with a small smile and replies "Never apologise for that. You can kiss me whenever you want." Serena smiles and nods to her boyfriend as her. Blush only grows. Ash chuckles at her antics and remarks in a soft tone "I see your smile is still just as beautiful as ever. I've missed seeing that you know.
Serena continuously blushes at Ash's compliments and says in a sincere tone "Thank you Ash yours too." Ash blushes slightly at Serena's compliment and can see she is really starting to get worked up. Her face is completely red so he decides to change the subject considering they are in a public school and he wouldn't want to make her too embarrassed or uncomfortable.
He nods his hand and remarks "Thanks Serena, so what do you think of the school? Pretty awesome isn't it." Serena smiles and replies
"Yeah it's great Ash. The kids are all so happy and both professors are so kind. You were right they really are amazing people." Ash sighs and looks up at the ceiling. He looks back down with a small smile and replies in a conflicted tone "Yeah their great people. I really hope I can live up to their expectations in the Alola league. I don't want to put on a bad showing because they've done so much for me."
Serena shakes her head and reassures her boyfriend "Don't worry Ash, I know your going to do your best no matter what. I know you going to do amazing and you won't be alone. I'll be there with you the whole time. In fact I'm actually going to be performing! Professor Kukui asked me to put on a performance at the opening ceremony." Ash takes a second to appreciate Serena's words and feels a wave of pride brush over him. One she really believes in him no matter what and two, she is going to performing at the opening ceremony. He smiles and exclaims "Wow congratulations Serena, I'm so proud of you. Me and you are going to nail the Alola league."
Serena smiles at her boyfriends return to his usual positivity and replies "I'm proud of you too Ash. Congratulations on finishing your island challenge. I thought it was going to take longer than that though. The professor said you wouldn't be hear for a few days and you said you'd be here soon but not toady." Ash smiles at his girlfriends praise. He scratches his head nervously and replies "Thanks Serena, I pushed hard through the last toe island to make sure we didn't keep you waiting. We basically stuck to the main path and didn't explore anything new. I Finished up a few days ago and I wanted to surprise you."
Serena feels her heart melt at Ash's sincerity. He made the conscious decision not to explore so he could be with her sooner. She knows how much Ash loves travelling and exploring so hearing that he would give that up for her is really comforting. To top that off, he had the wherewithal to come up with a smile for her as well. She smiles at her boyfriend lovingly and says "Your too sweet Ash, you didn't need to do all that form. Ash shakes his head and jokes "Compared to you Serena, I'm sour."
Serena erupts into a fit of giggles thanks to her boyfriends terrible joke. She catches her laughter and Remarks "Your jokes can be so cringy Ash." Ash shrugs his shoulders and replies "Well they can stay that way if they let me hear that laugh of yours more often." Serena feels a heat rise up to her cheeks again and mutters "Thank you Ash."
The couple stare into each others eyes with loving smiles on their faces. The moment their sharing right now makes all those months apart to chase their dreams all worth it. Those lonely nights, those trying times they all seem like distant memories now that are together again.
Serena let's out a loving sigh and says in a low tone "I've missed you Ash." Ash smiles back at his girlfriend and replies "Me too Serena. There hasn't been a day gone by where I haven't missed your smile or missed hearing you laugh. It's been fun travelling with my friends but the whole time it's been hollow not having you around to support me. I've missed the support you give ans your face in the stands when I battle."
Serena nods her head in agreement as her cheeks heat up even more. She exclaims "Me too Ash. Not having you to cheer me up when I'm down and not having you in the crowd when I perform has been tough. I know we have aura but it's not the same." Ash smiles at his girlfriend and says "I agree, let's promise to stick together from now on. At least until we master our powers so we never need to be apart." Serena smiles and replies "Right Ash, let's always stick together."
The two stare at each other with loving expressions. The two feel a connection to each other and a need for each others affection. Suddenly their body's start to move against their will as they take a step closer to each other with red painting their cheeks. Serena extends her arms forward and wraps them around Ash's neck Ash wraps his arms around her waist as they stand in each others embrace. They both gaze at each others lips and feel a need for them to connect. Serena gets on her toes and cups Ash's cheeks. They both in unison lean in as the gap between their lips closes. They tilt their heads and prepare for their lips to dance. With mere inches between them they take a dip breath and pucker up, ready for their first kiss when suddenly
"RIIIIIINNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGG!!!"
The school bell rings and snaps the couple back to their senses as they take a small back from each other, while still in an embrace.
Kukui walks into the class with a knowing smile and says "Sorry to break you up lovebirds but class is starting." Ash and Serena both pout and shout at the same time "Why now!"
Kukui chuckles and replies "Now, now. There will be plenty of time for all that later." Ash and Serena both blush as the kids start to enter the class. Ash shakes off his blush first as upon seeing him again, the kids get excited and surround him.
One young boy exclaims "Mr Ketchum your back, so did you complete your island challenge." Ash quickly glances at his girlfriend with an apologetic look before he turns back to the kids. He pumps his fist and declares "You bet I did." He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a small case. He opens the case and flashes z crystals to the class. The kids look on in awe as one remarks "Wow Mr Ketchum you must be really strong now. Can you have a battle so we can watch."
Ash smiles and shakes his head. He puts his case away and says "Sorry kids not today, It's miss Yvonne's lessson now. I'm just here to learn a few things myself." Serena smiles at her boyfriend and feels grateful that he decided not to steal her spotlight. Ash looks over at her and they nod in understanding to each other.
After they break eye contact, Ash looks at the door and spots Lillie, Mallow and Kiawe entering the class. Kiawe spots the raven haired trainer and asks "Hey Ash there you are, where have you been? We lost you when we made it to the school. Ash shrugs and says "Well you guys ran off so I went to catch up with Serena."
The three look over at the girl stood just to the side of Ash. Mallow raises her eyebrow and ask "Wait is that the performer." Ash nods and replies with a small smile "Yeah that's right." He turns to the honey blonde girl and introduces her to the group. "Serena, this is Mallow Kiawe and Lillie. They have been my travelling companions here in the alola region."
Serena smiles at the three and says "It's nice to meet you all and thank you for taking care off Ash for me." Lillie smiles back at the older girl and says "It's nice to meet you, your performance was so beautiful earlier." Serena smiles gratefully and replies "Thank you Lillie, that's very nice of you."
Kiawe looks over at Ash and remarks "Ash how many secrets do you actually have. Honestly you never cease to amaze me." Ash scratches his head nervously and says "sorry but you never asked." Kiawe chuckles and asks "So tell me, How do you know two know each other. It's not everyday your friend just happens to know a world famous performer.
Ash looks over to Serena with a loving smile and says "We met back when we were 7 years old at Professor Oaks summer camp in the Kanto region. We then met again in the Kalos region where we travelled together together with our friends Clement and Bonnie. Serena is really important to me and is one of the greatest people I've ever met." Serena smiles at her boyfriends description of her and tries very hard no to blush.
Lillie smiles at the two and comments "You two have known each other for nearly 10 years. You must must be really close." Serena looks over to Ash with a similar loving gaze and answers "Yeah that's right, me and Ash are definitely close."
The two gaze into each others eyes and move a little closer. Mallow picks up on how the two bounce off each other. How they interact and the looks they constantly sneak while the other is distracted. With the distance between the two slowly closing as well, she can only make one logical conclusion.
Mallow looks at the two with a smirk and says in a teasing tone "I see what's going on here." Ash looks over to her and says in a confused tone "What do you mean Mallow." The Alolan native points a finger at two accusingly and exclaims "Don't act dumb Ash, you two are dating right."
Ash and Serena gasp as a blush rise up on their faces. Serena waves her hands frantically and shouts "What no!" Ash takes a small step away from Serena and comments in a dense tone "What are you taking about Mallow." Kiawe shakes his head and says "Mallow don't be a silly, Ash's too dense for that." Lillie looks at the couple and comments "I ship it."
Mallow takes in their answers and focuses in on Ash's face. While his dense acting may be pretty convincing their is a dead give away. The blush that hangs on his face. Mallow smirks and asks in a teasing tone "Good acting Ash but blushes on your faces are a dead giveaway."
Ash and Serena look to each other and spot the fact that both their faces have a small blush on them. Serena curses her inability to control her heat while Ash scratches his head nervously. Kiawe looks at the two and nearly has a heat attack. He takes a step back and says with astonishment "Oh my arceus it's true. ASH KETCHUM HAS A GIRLFRIEND!!"
Ash sighs releasing his secret is out at the worse time possible. He facepalms and says in a frustrated tone "Mallow, you couldn't have waited until after school to ask." The Alola gang all turn to see the whole class waiting eagerly for Ash's response. Ash and Serena look at each other and mutually agree that there's no way out of this one. He takes a hold Serena's hand and confirms "Yea me and Serena are dating."
The kids including Lillie all cheer and squeal. Mallow nervously scratches her nose realising she has made a mistake in pressing Ash for an answer while Kiawe's jaw nearly hits the floor. The kids jump around the class and shout things like.
"The Kalos hero and the Kalos Princess are dating.!"
"Wow A new celebrity couple!"
They're both so cute together!"
Kukui watches as the class continue their loud cheers. He steps in and says "That's enough kids. It's no different than me and professor Burnett."
One kid argues back "Maybe but their famous Professor. This is big news. Kukui nods and exclaims in a stern tone "I know, that's why this stays in this classroom otherwise Miss Yvonne and Mr Ketchum will have to stop teaching here because of the press. If you want them to stay then you don't say anything understood. The kids nod their heads in understanding as one comments "Don't worry professor, you can trust us."
"Thank you kids," Kukui says in a calmer tone and returns to his spot over looking the class. Mallow scratches her head nervously and apologies "I'm sorry about that Ash and you too Serena." Ash shakes his head and sighs
"It's fine Mallow don't worry about it, I just wish you waited until after class. Serena smiles and adds "It's okay Mallow, I'm sure we would have told you three anyway. The truth is, we both know worlds going to find out eventually. We are just waiting for the right time to tell everyone."
Kiawe catches his jaw as the realisation sets in that yes as dense as Ash is, he does in fact have a girlfriend. He puts a hand on Ash's shoulder and says "Well I think a congratulations are in order for both of you. I must admit Ash this is probably the biggest surprise you've hit us with yet." Lillie chimes in and squeals "You two are so cute together. I can't believe Ash has such a pretty girlfriend. I can't wait to get to know you better Serena."
Ash and Serena thank the two and tell the Alola gang to take their seats. Once everyone is sat ans calmed down, Serena announces "Right now that's out of the way, let me tell you what we're going today and tomorrow. I have set up some pens and paper on your desks. I want you all to take this afternoon to design your own performances. Tomorrow morning you can practice them and then in the afternoon you can show me yours and we can give you feedback."
Most of the class seem to be onboard with Serena's planned lesson but there are the few who object. One boy speaks up and says in a whiny tone "But Miss Yvonne, Mr Ketchum is here now can't we do some battle practice." Ash answers for his girlfriend and says "This is battle practice." The boy tilts his head with confusion and asks "What do you mean by that." Ash explains "Well the techniques used in showcases can easily be taken and used in battles as well." He looks at his shoulder as Pikachu, who has been with Sylveon giving their trainers some privacy, leaps back up and asks "Isn't that right buddy."
Pikachu let's off an exited "Pika, Pika," before he leaps onto Serena's shoulder and gives her cheek a muzzle. Serena giggles and says "I've missed you too Pikachu." Pikachu smiles in response ans makes himself comfortable on her shoulder. She smirks to the class and announces "Any questions you may have, Me Braxien Altaria Sylveon and Pancham will help you with. Ash adds "Me and Pikachu too, we're no where near as good as Miss Yvonne but we've watched our fair share of performances." Kukui steps forward and says "I'll help out too where I can." Serena beams a smile and says "Great, well then let's get started." All the class say "Yes Miss Yvonne," and start to write down ideas.
After the class finishes, all the students and the professor disappear leaving just Ash and Serena to pack things up. Ash takes it upon himself to collect in all the pens and paper while Serena tides up the classroom. After they finish Ash looks at his girlfriend and says "You know, your a really great teacher." Serena smiles and replies "Thanks Ash but I would have no idea how to teach if you never helped me. You taught me everything I know." Ash smirks and jokes "I know for a fact that ain't true. Have you seen me dance." Serena giggles and replies "Apart from that."
The two stare at each other until Ash feels a nervousness come over him. He's been waiting to ask her something but now that the time has come, for reason he feels a little uneasy. He takes a deep breath and asks in a nervous tone "so Serena I want to ask you something." Serena nods to her boyfriend and questions "Sure Ash, what is it?"
Ash take a gulp and asks "Will you let me take you out on your first official date tonight."
Serena feels her heart do loops as the words leave his mouth. Ash, the densest boy in the world at one point, asked her out on a date. Not only was his density breaking. He was getting good at this boyfriend stuff. She smiles with a small blush and replies "Sure Ash, I would love to."
Ash pumps his fist in celebration and exclaims "Awesome, let's head back to the professors house. We can get ready there." Serena beams a smile and says "Sure Ash let's go."
She expects Ash to run off with excitement like he usually does but instead he smiles and holds his hand out. Serena grins and fan girls inside as she takes Ash's hand in hers. The two walk out of the school hand in hand and out into the Alolan sun.
The two walk along the beach with their hands intertwined. Ash steals a glance at Serena as the sun glistens off her light complexion. He takes in her beauty and says to himself "I'm such a lucky guy. I swear no matter what Serena I'll support you. I'm going to win the Alola league and make you proud of me. No matter what happens I'll be with you."
Ash turns his head and walks on as Serena turns her head to steal a glance at him. She looks at his raven hair blowing in the wind and thinks to herself "I'm such a lucky girl. I promise Ash, I'm going to give you all my support in the Alola league and I'll do everything I can to make you proud of me. No matter happens though I'll always stay with you."
The two face each other and realise they've both been caught staring. They giggle as Serena leans in an pecks Ash's cheek. Ash smiles and leans in returning the kiss on the cheek. Serena smiles and leans her head against Ash's shoulder as he wraps an arm around her waist. The two walk in each others embrace with no a word more needing to be said. Tonight's date was going to be all about each other an no matter how it went. They'd still love each other no matter what.

The amour couple are finally together in Alola.
It's been a long road but we're here now.
The next chapter is going to be the date as well so I'm sure you'll enjoy that one.
