I hummed in response
"Can I tell you something?"
"Sure thing babe" I mumbled caressing her stomach
she turned around and sat up holding my hand so I knew it was serious. seeing her sitting up I laid my head down in her lap and held her hand again
Her other hand went in my hair as she ran her fingers through them
"It's just you for me, and what I mean is there is no one else in this world, this whole planet that I want and need more than you. Manik you are end game for me, I want to grow with you, I want to bicker like we do, I want arguments, I want fights but I want them only with you. I want to know that you will always choose me no matter what girl is in front of you. I want to know that no matter what stupid act I pull you will scold me but then forgive me. I know you said you want to maybe marry me someday and honestly that thought doesn't scare me, instead it makes me happy and excited for our future" she said
I heard every single word she spoke very carefully and I was happy that she is sharing things with me.
"As you are for me, you are my end game Nandini. when I told you I want to marry you one day I meant it, hell I am ready to settle down now if that's what you want. I will always choose you, yes my actions previously were indifferent but I swear I have my shit together in this matter. No matter what, I will always choose you, and I will keep choosing you till my last breath. We are so young, and I want to spend every second of my life with you. I want to make you happy, butterfly"
Her eyes were hooked with mine as a tear drop fell on my cheek. She was crying, and it wasn't like she ever has before, it was different.
"Whats wrong Jaan" I asked getting off her lap
She jsut shook her head wiping her tears aggressively, she has a habit of feeling embarrassed when she tears up so she rubs her face to get rid of those tears.
"Hey hey not so hard" I whispered moving her hands from her face
She hiccuped in between crying.
"Sh shh come here"
She sniffled inching closer wrapping her arms around my neck. I wrapped an arm around her back as she wrapped her legs around my waist
I carried us to the balcony in the room, I have a beautiful hammock in the balcony becasue I know Nandini loves sitting outside. And since it is windy and cloudy, her favourite whether, I thought sitting in the balcony is the best option especially when she is crying.
"Whats wrong buttercup" I asked sitting on the hammock with her in my arms
she just shook her head.
"Talk to me sweetie"
"Its, this is all I have wanted. You are all I have needed since I was 5 and to hear you say things I have wanted to hear is overwhelming"
"I understand"
"And it's like arghh I don't even know how to say this and its so"
"Breath my love, just breath for a second" I kissed her head as she relaxed into my touch
"I am not going to go anywhere, I'm right here sweet but I need you to breath through it first"
"Im trying" she whispered against my neck
"I know you are and I am so proud of you" she hmmed against my neck
A few minutes went by with her holding me tight when we heard little barks making me chuckle
"And here comes the monster" I mumbled
"Hey don't call him monster" she said smacking my arm
I got up with nandini still in my arms, walking to mr brownie who had jumped up on the bed now
"Woof"
"Hey now thats not where I left you" I said to him
"Woof, woof" he barked staring at me
"Rude is what you are" I said
"Hey" nandini said smacking me
I lowered her down a little and she picked up brownie in her arms
"Hi baby" she cooed kissing his head
This boy I swear, he barked at me and then snuggled in her arms
"Hey that isn't nice" I said carrying them both back to the hammock
"Woof"
"I swear to god brownie"
"Shh stop it Manik" nandini said
"No, he is being rude, aren't you little bud" I asked
He looked at me and then at nandini as if he was mocking me, I swear he was internally laughing at me.
"No he isn't upset, your dad's face is just like this" she said to him patting his head
It was a weird feeling to hear her call me our little pet's dad and it made me wonder if we were to ever have kids what it would feel like.
he whined a little falling a sleep in nandini's arms again, he is perfect when he sleeps but boy is he sassy like nandini
"Isn't he hungry" she asked kissing my cheeks
"I jsut fed him a couple hours ago, I think he got uncomfortable in the chair"
she nodded laying her back on me.
"I was really overwhelmed because I heard everything I have been wanting to hear since I realized I had feelings for you. It just got a bit too much as reality set in. I finally have you Manik" she said with such a big smile on her face
"You have always had me nandini, I think it just set in like you said"
She nodded making me smile
I was caressing her back while she was caressing brownie's head making me chuckle. She looked at me and leaned closer to her nose touched mine
I nudged her nose with mine causing her to burst out I fits of giggles
"I belong to you nandini, I always will"
A grin played on her lips making me smile
She leaned closer and kissed my cheek.
"You remembered" she whispered a couple minutes later
"I did" I said wth a smile
FLASHBACK
I had just stepped in my room after a fight with my parents, I was losing my god damn mind.
There was a knock on the door which I ignored but then I heard the door open making me angry.
"Are you kidding me, I already said not to come to my room. I said leave me alone so get the fuck out of my room" I screamed without turning around
"Mani" I heard making me turn around
Little nandini was walking to me with a chocolate bar in her hand.
"Nandini please leave me alone" I said
She didn't say anything, no nodding, absolutely nothing.
She walked closer to me and placed her chocolate bar on the side table. She turned around and I heard her sniffle but before I could say anything she ran out of my room
"Fuck man" I mumbled under my breath
I walked out to see cabir's door open so I knew she went to him. I walked inside his room to see nandini laying on her stomach on his bed wailing
"Manik what did you do" cabir asked
"Nothing" I said to him sitting beside nandini
"Im sorry butterfly, I was in my head about an argument I had with my parents. I didn't know it was you coming in. Im sorry sweetie" I caressed her back
"You yell at me" she sniffled looking at me
"I know I apologize"
"No you bad, I got you chocolate"
"I know butterfly, im sorry. What can I do to make it better" I asked
"You say you sorry"
"I am sorry from the bottom of my heart"
She nodded getting up.
She harshly wiped her tears so I grabbed her hands shaking my head
"You yell at me" she said again as I wiped her tears gently
"What can I do to make it up to you" I asked
"Nothing but if you yell at me again I get a puppy" she said falling in my arms
"Yes ma'am" I said kissing her nose making her giggle
FLASHBACK OVER
"I didn't think you'd remember this" she mumbled bringing me out of my thoughts
"Nandini I remember everything about you"
"Liar" she teased
"Ask me anything" I challenged
"And what if you lose" she asked
"Then I will do whatever you want but what if I win" I asked
"No no that's not the deal"
"Okay fine" I chuckled
"My first teddy bear" she asked
"Blue, the one I got you for your first birthday with me" I said
"Dang it, okay mhmm oh yes okay what is that one habit of mine that I hate or am embarrassed of" she asked
"Crying, you don't like crying in front of anyone"
"When have I raised my voice at someone and not regretted it" she asked
"When my parents called me unwanted, you screamed at them and you have never regretted it" I said
"Damn right, I would fight them and gosh if they hadn't made you I would have smacked them" she said getting heated
"Hey relax"
"Whatever, I'm not kidding"
"I know love"
"I genuinely didn't think you'd remember"
"I did and I didn't just get him because I made you cry"
"Then" she asked being confused
"I got him becasue he represents our little beginning as well"
"He sure does, don't you little human" she said kissing his head
"Hey where is my kiss?" I asked
She giggled reaching up and kissing my cheeks a couple times
