Sanvis POV
Hella... It's my first day of my first job...... in my room !
But I don't know how to feel. I am waiting for the video conference to start. Should I be happy as it's first day or should I be sad as I am not getting the feel of actual office environment. Nevertheless it's just two years of internship and also soon my Upgrade MBA classes will start on this weekend too.My shedule is going to be hell tight. Than I realised how Siddhan and Amit must be handling studies as well as company. Siddhans schedule is also very tight. But I am proud of him.Its not a joke to start a company at such a young age.
A voice from my laptop brought me out of my thoughts. It's my team leader Rishi Sir.He is such a down to earth and hardworking person.He welcomed all the interns and introduced to our seniors under whom we will be working. We will be on training for three months which will be online.Today we did some basics.I am already familiar with the tools to be used like mongodb, power bi ,sequal etc. Overall it was good.
This week went in a snap of a finger and soon it was weekend and today is my first class of MBA.Again it's online class. Slowly I am getting used to my new schedule.
And in all this I am not even getting a day off. So does Siddhan ....my subconscious reminded me. Yes.... True.
I wonder what Siddhan must be doing. I badly want to hear his voice. We should have exchanged our numbers. Should I ask Krupa for his number?But I also don't want to be a distraction for him.With heavy heart I went to bed.
Next morning I woke up at the sound of ringtone. Who is calling me on Sunday. I huffed and picked up without looking at the caller id.
Sanvi: " Hello". I said yawning .
Krupa:" Well good afternoon Sleeping Beauty".
Sanvi:" What afternoon? I checked the time and it was 12 o clock."
Krupa :" hmm someone is staying awake at night these days Haan? So.. how's your lovey dowey talks going on with Sid?"
I frowned at her question.
Sanvi : " Hmm actually we didn't talk after coming from Malvan".
Krupa:" What ?! I mean why? Didn't Siddhan called you ?"
Sanvi:" Hmm.. we didn't exchanged our numbers".
Krupa:" But why?".
Sanvi:" We don't want to be distraction for each other. His schedule is very tight. He needs to take rest too. And after tiring day I don't want him staying awake at night in calls."
Krupa:" Are you nuts? A simple good mornings and good nights won't become distractions?"
Sanvi:" But what if someone catch us talking? I can't take that risk."
Krupa: " You can save his number in some other name"
Sanvi:" Still I want to be his strength and not weakness. He has asked me to wait for two years until he is capable of asking for my hand."
Krupa:" hmmm ....let's meet for lunch . At what time your MBA classes will start?"
Sanvi:" Six in the evening."
Krupa:" ok then I will come to pick you up in half an hour."
Sanvi:" Yaa..I also need a break".
After beading byes I went and freshned up.I came out to inform maa that I will be going out for lunch. But my mood took a 360 degree turn when I saw Bhai seating in the leaving room. I heard him saying " The boy is very good he will be perfect for Sanvi". and my eyes came out of my sockets. What they are talking about?
" But Sanvis schedule is very tight. She is jiggling between work and studies. She is not getting time for herself . We can't even think of getting her married for two years." I heard maa and felt relieved.
" Yes , it will be difficult for her if we get her married now. Marriage is not a joke. And moreover marriage is not her priority right now" My father said and I made a happy dance in my mind.
" But we will loose a good groom for her." Again he started. Can't he understand" Sanvi is not ready right now and I am not going to force her into this." Again my father said.
Before he further says anything I went and informed maa and papa that Krupa is coming to pick me and we are going for lunch.
I went in my room to get dressed and soon Krupa came.We reached the beach side restaurant. It's famous for seafood and Krupa was confused what to order. I had already given my order. Why she is taking so long.
" What happened? Can't decide?". I asked her
" No I have finalized mine but I was wondering what I should order for boys they are stuck in traffic jam and have asked me to order their food too." She said and I looked at her confused.
" Who boys?". I asked her.
" Mayur and Sid". She said still looking at the menu.
" What ? But what if someone sees me with Siddhan?". I had just asked and my fears came true.
I heard a shrinking voice." Hey Sanvi ". I turned to see Raj uncle and Rajashre aunty approaching us. I am dead.
" Namaste Kaka...umm namaste aunty." I tried to sound as normal as I could but I was freaking out inside. " Oh... So what are you doing hear?". Raj uncle asked me . Having lunch what else we come to restaurant...my subconscious said. Please just shut up will you? I said to my subconscious mind. But actually you are right .
" I came to have lunch here kaka". I said and Krupa tried hard to control her chuckle listening to my reply.
" I mean she is my friend Krupa and Krupa they are my bade kaka and kaki" . I introduced them .
" Namaste uncle. namaste aunty". Krupa said. " Oh nice to meet you too beta. So whats the occasion" kaki asked.
Occasion? What occasion? Can't we casually meet for lunch? I snapped out of my thoughts when Krupa said ." Oh... My marriage has been fixed. I am getting married in two months" .
What ? Marriage is fixed and she didn't bothered to tell me yet ? I glared at Krupa and she mouthed sorry giving me an apologetic look.
" Oh congratulations beta what's the name of the groom and what he is doing and are you same age as our Sanu?" And my kaki started her interrogation.
Krupa replied very patiently but I knew she was getting pissed.
And at the end she turned to me and said." See your friends are also getting married now it's high time that you also should get hitched. What you say Raj?".
" Yes ofcourse. My son has recommended a good groom this morning only but you said you are not yet ready. You will loose a gem if you continue with this attitude of yours." Raj uncle said in a serious tone.
I just stayed mum and my biggest nightmare .... Mayur and Siddhan entered the restaurant and spotted us. My eyes grew wide. Siddhan was looking straight in my eyes.Krupa signalled them to stop." What happened? " Rajshre kaki saw Krupa gesturing. " Nothing aunty I was calling the waiter as I have not given my order yet. Raj Kaka is very sharp he noticed this and turned back but before he could see Mayur and Siddhan, they both entered the family room so Raj Kaka couldn't see their faces."
I stood still at my place as to I don't know what to do..... Breath in breath out. Breath in breath out. I chanted this mantra.
Raj kaka looked skeptically at me.Waiter came to take Krupas order and I chose to answer Raj uncles earlier question." But kaka I don't have time .weekdays I have internship and weekends I have classes." I made more tensed face to make him believe that I got tensed because of the marriage topic he had brought up earlier. After giving me calculative look he sighed and said ok . They both left our table after sometime but till they reached their car they were looking suspiciously at us . I am sure Raj uncle sensed something was wrong.
I released the breath I was holding for how long I don't know.
" May I ask you something?". Krupa said I just nodded my head.
" Are they parents of that annoying cousin of yours?". Krupa asked.
Bingo...how she knows?
" Yes" i said nodding my head and was about to ask her how she knows.
"Well no need to ask how I know. Your cousin is exact copy of your kaka. Both hardware and software." She said and I couldn't stop my chuckle.
" Yup you are absolutely right". I said and we both sighed.
" Why are they after you ? Don't they have any other work to do ?" Krupa asked me
"That's what I can't understand I mean I am not getting any free time . My schedule is completely packed and these people have time to poke their nose in other people's lives.". I huffed.
She looked at her phone ." Mayur has asked us to come to the family room".
I nodded and got up to leave. We were about to reach the room when suddenly I heard Raj kakas voice. " Where are you going?".
I stood rooted at my place patrified. My hands and feet went cold and I started getting sweat beads on my forehead.. well weird combination right ?sweating and feeling cold at the same time.Krupa noticed this and quickly hold me by my shoulder and said" She was not feeling well so we were going to the washroom. ".
She made me turn and continued " She is not well from morning itself. Didn't you noticed her pale face earlier?I should have not asked her to join me for lunch today in first place. "
He was staring at us and went to open the door of the family room where Mayur and Siddhan had entered.My breath got stuck as to what will happen now....and why the scene is in slow motion. I can notice Raj kakas each and every action. He took out his hand from the packet and raised to hold the knob of the door. Then he turned the knob in right direction and opened the door and peaped inside.....
God knows what's going to happen now?Is this the end?
But we heard many voices coming from inside. Confused, I and Krupa looked at each other.
" Yes uncle, you are looking for someone?" Came a female voice making us more confused so we also peaped our heads and saw a family!. Siddhan and Mayur were seating with them but with their backs facing us.And children were running around and making noise.
"Hmm...no sorry I came by mistake". Raj uncle said hurriedly and closed the door.
Confusion was still evident on our faces as to who all are the people inside. But Krupa made it looked like we are confused of Raj uncles behaviour. " What happened uncle ?It's a family room". Krupa asked with the most confused face I have ever seen.
" Amm nothing....take care of her. " Saying this Raj uncle went .
We didn't wanted to take any risk so we went to the washroom. He might again turn up.
As soon as we entered the washroom Krupa shouted. " Freaking hell..... Are your family members spy agents. They can give good competition to the RAW."
I splashed water on my face and waited there for sometime untill my heartbeat came to normal. By the time Krupa was talking on the phone with Mayur explaining him what all happened.
" Come lets go". Krupa said after cutting the call.
We went in some other direction and on taking right we saw Mayur waiting for us. " That's unbelievable " He said as soon as he saw us." Let's go I have booked another family room for us and I have personally checked it's been ten minutes your uncles car has left . "Saying this he showed us the family block to enter.
We saw Siddhan paising in that small block. He made me seat and offered me glass of lemon juice.
" But what if he comes back and can't find us on our table?" Krupa asked my doubt.
" Then tell him you both left as Sanvi was not feeling well". Mayur said and we both nodded.
" Who were those people you both were seating with in the room ?" Krupa enquired.
" Oh the lady is my staff. They had finished with their lunch and were waiting for the bill.We were chatting for sometime with them." Mayur informed.
Siddhan took hold of my hands which were still cold and asked " What happened Sanvi?".
I looked in his eyes and said. " I felt like I was playing hide and seek."
