I felt helpless.
I couldn't care about my self respect or anything else. I just couldn't accept the thought of having to lose him.
I was begging before him to love me.
He looked at me with a mix of emotions.
The words rolled out automatically,
"I-I will do everything.. everything possible.. just for you to love me.. I-I.. I really really love you..", I said, breaking down in tears, finally. I edged closer to him, resting the top of my head on his chest, holding his hand, begging..
As he stood still.
"Anu..", his voice softened to a tone I had rarely heard. I looked up in hope.
He gulped nervously.
He reluctantly raised his free hand and wiped my tears. I felt the touch of his hand as I shut my eyes.
I could hear his unsteady breath.
I opened my eyes.
The moment stood still.
"Don't love me so much.", He said, the honesty in his words was like never heard before.
"I-I cannot love you the way you deserve to be loved.", He said.
His shell fell off, and before me stood a broken man.
I suddenly felt like I was meeting him for the very first time.
The tension in the air was overwhelming.
He edged closer and softly kissed my forehead.
I still held onto his hand tightly.
I looked at him.
"You need to sleep.", He whispered.
"I need you.", I said truthfully.
"The real you.. not the fake version you put up.. the real person behind your anger.. ", I stated.
"You grew up in a few minutes or something?", He said raising a brow with a mild smile.
"What? I am said being honest.."
"I like your honesty then..", he smiled.
"This is not fake? Should I trust you? Are you really not cheating on me?", I asked.
"I am not cheating on you and if you still don't think I am saying the truth, I swear on Tulsi from Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki.", His lips curved into a wider smile.
"If anything happens to her I swear I am never talking to you.", I said, almost concerned about Tulsi's health.
"Deal.", He said, the situation abruptly eased out.
"Deal.", I said, and paused for moments.
Then I broke into a laugh.
