Jisoo Kim is yet to move on from her last relationship - that was a fact and instead of trying to move on she moved to New York to search for Chaeyoung.
It's probably one of the most reckless things she have ever done but hey, she got the money and the time.
"So you're really moving to New York?" Lisa asks, they're currently discussing her latest crazy idea in her bedroom at her Seoul apartment - where all the crazy ideas happen
"Yep" Jisoo answered shortly
"To search for Chaeyoung?" Jennie asks
"Yes" she answered again
"And instead of messaging her in her socials you decided that moving to New York and literally putting your whole life on hold is the best way to do that?" Jennie asks
"Yeah"
Her two friends nods in approval, "very psycho, very stalker vibe - I like it"
"Shut up" she throws her pillow at the two, "besides I can't reach her socials - she blocked me remember?"
"So you resulted to moving another continent just to search for her?" Jennie asked sarcastically, "be honest, was the sex good?"
"There was no sex" Jisoo rolled her eyes
"There's no sex? damn. She must've charmed the mystical shit out of you that made you so in love with her"
"She's just different"

Cut to two months and Jisoo was more than sure that she have visited every coffee shop in New York, Chaeyoung loves coffee and food so she went to every restaurant, cafe or food hub that she can see
Every single day she would be off to a new place where she stays for a whole day, delighting her taste buds and she even started an IG account that features foods from all the cafe she visited -
While walking back to her apartment Jisoo was talking to Lisa on the phone about how she should probably give up and go back to Korea.
"New York is a big place - I still have many places to explore" Jisoo reasons
"I know that but is she really worth it? I mean I get that you're the chaebol princess that don't need no work but you've been there for months"
"Hey! I do work and besides my parents are fine with me in New York"
"The same parents that is the reason why you two broke up? Do they even know that you're in New York for Chaeyoung?"
"They don't need to know that" Jisoo laughs, "I just need their money so I can afford to stay here and then when I get Chaeyoung back I'll cut myself off from them"
"Very manipulative, Very smart...I like it - you can afford to live there even without them though" Lisa says
"Yeah but I'm not gonna use my own money when I can still use theirs - they don't need it" Jisoo stops to let a woman outside first before she can go inside her apartment building
"Yeah, you do you buddy - just take care" then the call ended
Jisoo shoves her phone on her pocket and holds the door open for the woman, It's another failed day for her finding Chaeyoung Project.
...
It was a particularly rainy day in New York and a lot of people are inside the lobby of her apartment building, probably waiting for a cab - Jisoo waits for the valet driver to bring her car but is told that it's gonna talk a while because of the maintenance in the parking causing a traffic
"Sure, I'll just wait in the lobby" she smiles politely at the concierge before sitting down on one of the long sofa's
She reviews the Cafe and Restaurant she's planning on eating at but her train of thought is cut short by the loud boom of the thunder outside - She remembered the time when Chaeyoung had ended their relationship, it was rainy that day, kind of like it is now.
...
"What do you mean it's over?"
"I mean we're done, Jisoo. That is what I mean"
"I don't understand - why? what-"
"I'm not a secret, Jisoo. I'm not gonna give you any ultimatum cause that would be unfair but I can't do this anymore"
"Chae-" Jisoo tried grabbing the girl's arms but Chaeyoung had moved away from her
"I get that your parent's need time to accept that you have a girlfriend - I just don't have that time. I'm sorry"
Jisoo wanted to stop her, she really did but she couldn't find the strength to move. Chaeyoung was right.
...
So now, Jisoo is in New York - spending her time looking for her. It occurred to her that Chaeyoung might not want anything to do with her but the least she can do is try.
She needed to try.
"Miss Kim" the valet calls and Jisoo stands up on her seat to finally leave
"Jisoo?"
She froze halfway through the door, she can feel her heart pounding on her chest.
Slowly she turned around
And, sure enough Chaeyoung Park was standing behind her with the same confused look she always had
"What are you doing here? In New York?" Chaeyoung asks, bewildered that she had bumped into her ex in New York, of all the places.
Jisoo just stood there, unable to find the words. Somehow "I came looking for you" sounds very stalker-ish. She spent months exploring New York in hopes of finding her, hoping that she would bump into her in one of the cafe's she visited and now Chaeyoung's in front of her - in the most anti-climatic way possible.
"Jisoo?" Chaeyoung waved her hand in front of her face and that effectively brought Jisoo out of her haze
"Chaeyoung" she breaths out, "Do you wanna grab a bite? I know a place" is what she says
And Chaeyoung could never resist a gorgeous girl - and food, especially food.
"Sure"
...
"...And that concludes the answer to why I'm in New York" Jisoo says as if she just dropped a bomb on Chaeyoung - which to be fair is accurate.
"You looked for me?" Chaeyoung asks
"Yeah, even made an IG account for it" Jisoo shows Chaeyoung her phone
"Hey, I've been in these places!" Chaeyoung exclaims in excitement and snatches the phone and scrolls down, "wow - we just missed each other by hours" Chaeyoung said
Chaeyoung tinkered with her phone a bit more before addressing the elephant in the room, "So...." Chaeyoung clears her throat, "Why did you look for me?"
"Because I couldn't accept that the reason you walked away was something that I can easily change" Jisoo looked deep into Chaeyoung's eyes, "I want another chance because I realize I would do everything to keep you"
"What about your parents?" Chaeyoung asked
"They're old, they can handle themselves" Jisoo answered quickly, "Sorry - I'm waiting for this moment in a long time"
"Did you really move to New York just to look for me?" Chaeyoung asked, feeling a little giddy because she hasn't moved on from their relationship just yet
