Lauren's POV:
We just stood there for a good little while, taking in each other's features. Giving soft smiles, I caressed her cheek as she held onto my arms. Just as I was about to lean in for what would be our third kiss, her phone rang.
"Shit I'm sorry," she whispered, looking down into her purse to answer it. "Hello?"
I started backing away from her to give her space to talk, but Sade grabbed my hand and pulled me back in, bringing me close. It made me feel warm inside.
"Yeah....okay.....seriously Lyric?! Yeah, whatever....okay fine bye." Sighing while rolling her eyes, she then focused her attention back to me.
"Everything okay?" I asked. Sade groaned,
"Yeah and no, no one's dying but I have to get home. My sisters act like infants who can't be left alone sometimes, and my mom's at work." I nodded in understanding,
"Okay go ahead. Text or call later?" I innocently asked.
Sade then looked me up and down with a smirk tugging her lips,
"If you're still up we can meet later to be honest." I blushed hard,
"I'd like that." She responded with a peck to my lips, and pulled away with her eyes still closed as she spoke,
"I'll see you later?"
"Of course."
Sade headed for the door, calling behind her,
"Alright now don't go to sleep!" I chuckled,
"I won't, I won't! Go!"
A wide smile I was unable to wipe off took over my expression. My crush chuckled as she strides out of the door. Holy shit that was my first kiss.
Sade's POV:
On the drive home, I couldn't stop smiling, thinking of that kiss with Lauren. The way she kissed me was like we were the only two people on Earth and had all the time in the world. Like she wanted to savor every bit and make me feel what she was thinking. If that was her goal, it was definitely accomplished. I have no idea if she's been with a girl before but if she hadn't, she damn sure could have fooled me.
Lyric called me because she thinks she set something on fire trying to cook. Apparently they got the fire under control but I needed to get home asap to cover it up before mom got there. One thing about Lyric, that girl can't cook worth shit, yet she keeps trying. One time she literally managed to burn soup. How in the hell? Exactly. I couldn't tell you.
As I walked up to the door, preparing myself for the bullshit, 'Thena met me halfway as she stood in the doorway waving her hand towards her, telling me to hurry up and come in,
"Come on come on before mama get here!!" I started to jog,
"Okay! I'm coming!"
The smell of smoke instantly hit my senses as I entered the house. Once seeing the damage, I feared for all of our lives.
"Lyric what in the actual-" she paced around the kitchen while shaking her hands filled with nerves. Her eyes were trained to the floor,
"I know I know I know I know, mama gonna kill us ain't she?" My sister stopped for a second to look up at me, then continued to pace. "I just wanted to make a pizza I saw on Pinterest-"
"Lyric-" 'Thena shook her head. "Why didn't you just order in like I told you? You so damn hard headed," she rolled her eyes.
"Sade, is there a way you can fix this?" 'Mara asked and they all looked at me. I stood there with my palm on my forehead and my head on my hip. I honestly had no idea what to do, but I needed to figure it out and fast. "Please Sade you're our only option here, we'll buy your food for a week-"
"Lovely offer but it's not gonna make me think of what to do with this shit show-"
"Okay but you'll help us?" 'Lyric asked frantically.
"Nah Lyirc I'm just gone stand here and watch y'all figure it out," I rolled my eyes. "Y'all go upstairs I've got it." Waving them off, I then stepped into the kitchen.
"You sure?" 'Thena asked.
"Yep, be gone, and Lyric please for the love of God and all things wonderful, stay yo ass out this kitchen." My sister nodded and they quietly went upstairs.
Sighing heavily, I took in the mess before me. A giant spot on the wall behind the stove, burnt to a damn crisp. I shook my head. What the hell am I gonna do?
An hour or so later, the wall was fixed and it was now almost 9. Going upstairs to my room, I changed into some more comfortable clothes and shoes, but left my makeup on. I just threw on a university hoodie, wide leg gray Nike sweatpants and my fuzzy white crocs. I freshened up in the bathroom because that dance was hot and made me a little sweaty. After applying my rolling perfume, grabbing my purse and keys, I headed out of my bedroom. Once getting in the hallway, I yelled to my sisters' closed bedroom doors letting them know I was leaving,
"BYE I'LL BE BACK LATER DON'T DO ANYTHING STUPID!" I yelled, walking down the stairs.
They yelled back,
"OKAY BE SAFE!!"
"OKAY!"
"WE'LL TRY!"
With that I left my house and got in my car. I started to get nervous about meeting Lauren. I hoped she didn't change how she felt just that soon. Pulling out my phone, I texted her to see where she was and if she was ready.

Once entering Lauren's address into the gps of my car, I went to choose what music to put on. Usually when people are getting in my car, I change my playlist to more current music given that I listen to shit from 3 decades or more ago. Tonight though, I didn't feel the need to do that. 'Tell Him' by Lauren Hill blasted through my speakers as the car rolled out of the driveway.
She only lived about 15 minutes away from me, so the drive wasn't long. Getting close, I saw that her neighborhood was gated. Grabbing my phone to ask her what the code was, I saw she already texted me.

A smile tugged my lips as the nerves began to settle in once again. I like Lauren a lot, and it's not that I feel I can't be myself around her, it's actually the opposite. The nerves I feel are like the excited kind. The kind where you can't sleep the night before you go on vacation or a field trip in elementary. It scares me though, how much I like her. She's so chill and down to earth and shows me the utmost care and genuineness. I've never had that before, not like this.
Rolling into her driveway, I took in my surroundings a bit. Lauren's house is huge and has this modern yet homey look to it. The grass, even though it was dark outside, was a vibrant green and looked to be freshly cut. The other homes around hers looked different than hers. Theirs being beige, white, or brick, and hers being sage green with brown accents. It was beautiful.
Lauren came outside wearing her hair up in a ponytail with a few pieces left out, black sweatpants, slides, and a cropped cami with an oversized jacket. Even dressed down she was still fine as hell like how?
She got in the car wearing a wide smile and her distinctive scent of 'paradise'....or at least that's what I like to call it. Mirroring it, I found it hard to look away just.
"Well well well-"
"Hello Darling," she greeted in her usual British accent. I laughed,
"Hello love," my imitation of Klaus Mikaelson, caused her to snap her neck at me.
"You watch The Originals?" Lauren asked, putting her seatbelt on.
"Oh honey absolutely, that's my shit," I boasted.
"Vampires Diaries?"
"My baby-"
"Greys Anatomy?" I nodded.
"Pretty Little Liars?"
"Been there, done that-" Her eyebrows went up in amusement as her mouth feel agape.
"Okay let's dig a little deeper-" Lauren challenged, leaning on my arm rest as she faced me while my eyes kept on the road. Feeling her eyes burning a hole through my side profile, I glanced over at her,
"Let's. Bring it shawty."
I could see her grin grow in my peripheral,
"Criminal Minds?" I nodded. She continued "Once Upon A Time?" A gasp eluded me,
"Ou girl that's my favorite!" She smiled,
"Same-" I quickly turned to her to see if she was serious,
"Really?" Lauren bobbed her head slowly,
"For realz."
I laughed, "Okay pause in TV for now...top 5 movies, go." She got excited and tapped the arm rest,
"Ou okay-" Lauren paused and her smile faded causing me to glance at her again, awaiting her response,
"What? What's wrong?" I asked while pulling into the Sonic drive in. "Oh I'm sorry I didn't ask if Sonic was okay with you, if it's not we can go wherever you want." I began to ramble, but she quickly shook her head and chuckled,
"No Sade you're good I love Sonic, plus we get to sit here and talk," Lauren smirked and I blushed. "And nothing's wrong, I just realized I can't even make a list, I watch too many movies." I chuckled,
"Okay... just give me what you can think of right now."
"Okay.... Avatar.....Endgame, Tangled....Black Panther and..." She paused again,
"Ou really good list, and....what's the last one?" Lauren licked her lips before drawing her eyes from her hands to meet mine. The alluring eye contact sent shivers down my spine,
"It's Carol." My eyes widened as I inhaled sharply and hung my head while letting out a nervous laugh,
"Honestly same, it's top two for me," I shrugged, trying to play it off. She tilted her head, her gaze remaining upon me,
"Good to know-" She sighed, looking away. "Can I tell you something Sade?"
"Honeybee you can tell me anything." I looked over at her adoringly. Lauren was blushing while keeping her eyes on her fingers as she played with them,
"Honeybee?" She lifted her head up, intrigued by the nickname I'd given her.
"Yup. I think it fits you, especially in my eyes. Is that okay with you?" I titled my head. She nodded, biting her lip,
"Yeah..."
"So what is it?" I asked, getting back in subject. Lauren tugged on her ear with a nervous smile,
"The uh- the kiss we had....it was um- it was my first..." Shock took over my facial expression. "Which I'm not sure why I felt the need to tell you that I just... felt I should I guess-"
Taking her chin between my index finger and thumb, I lifted it so she'd meet my eyes. With my other hand, I took hers in mine, "I'm glad you told me, how was it?" She blushed again,
"It was amazing I'm sure you know-" a laugh flew from her and I joined.
Lauren's POV:
We sat in that car as we ate and talked for 4 hours, not even noticing it had been that long. I could have sat there forever and talked to her to be honest. It's like we got each other without having to try at all, we had so much in common it was kind of freaky. I learned so much about her in this one sitting, yet somehow I knew there was so much more to go and I wanted every once of it I could get. I told her things I'd never even think about telling another soul, yet it fell off my tongue so easily with her.
Over time I'd often lean over to kiss her a few more times, and she didn't seem to mind, in fact she matched my energy by doing the same herself. I couldn't get enough of her soft lips and intoxicating scent. She touched me so sensually, I could hardly stay in my skin. I didn't want to leave, I'd stay up all night with her if I could, but my dad had started to text me about my whereabouts and I knew I needed to get home.
Looking up from the text I just sent him letting him know I was on the way back, I face toward Sade who was finishing her milkshake as she scrolled on her phone,
"Darling?"
"Yes sweetheart?" Sade responded in the British accent she's gotten used to me using,
"You know it's 1 in the morning right?"
"Oh I'm well aware, my mom's gonna kick my ass. You might not hear from me for a few days." I couldn't tell if she was joking or not, yet I couldn't help but giggle as I playfully pushed her shoulder,
"Why didn't you say anything? I didn't mean to keep you." Sade sighed, putting her phone down before giving me her undivided attention. I instantly got chills,
"Because I'm having the time of my life right now-" she pouted. "I don't want you to leave," her words came with a whine as she grabbed my hand.
"You see me everyday at school Sade you'll be fine," I suggested, knowing damn well I felt the same way.
"Okay but it's not the same and you know it," she looked at me knowingly. I smirked,
"I do.....you got work tomorrow?" Sade groaned,
"Ugh yes, don't remind me-" I giggled,
"I'm sorry, but come one you got work, it's late, and I know our parents are pissed," I patted her leg. She rolled her eyes with a sigh,
"Alright fine, let's go-" Sade started the car but had yet to touch the wheel or the gear.
"Sade, we're still here..."
"Yeah I know-" she said, still not moving.
I studied her before realizing what she was waiting on,
"You want to kiss again don't you?" She smirked,
"A few pecks won't hurt-" I smiled wide,
"Oh my gosh, come here," I grabbed her sweatshirt and softly placed my lips on hers, taking my time pulling away. She nodded with her eyes still closed,
"Alright let's go-" I shook my head with a giggle.
