Y/N's POV
Hmm?
I looked to the side only to see an information about the upcoming summer festival. It seems like Luz noticed that my attention was elsewhere so she followed my gaze.
"A summer festival? Maybe I should invite Amity" I heard Luz mumbling to herself. I was only staring at the poster in front of me. The only thing that came to my mind was the picture of me and Hunter spending time together at the summer festival but I was brought back to reality when I saw that Luz started going without me, I think that she didn't even realized that I was spacing out yet so before she could realize it I quickly sped up so I could walk beside her.
"I didn't thought that you guys have summer festival here" Luz said making me look at her dumbfounded. "Seriously, who are you taking us for?" I lightly joked, Luz gave me a sheepish smile.
A few minutes later she asked me "So, who are you going with? Hunter?" She smirked at me making me blush. "D-Don't be ridiculous Luz, there is nothing between me and Hunter" I said making Luz shake her head, it was clear that she didn't believe me. But it was true, me and Hunter were just friends and nothing more. Thinking about it made me slightly sad, even tho I should be happy that he wanted to be at least friends.
I still remember our first meeting. It wasn't long after he started living with Luz and Eda. I am the only daughter of the most famous baker in the boiling isles and because Luz really liked our products I was delivering them a lot. One day I happened to bring them a lot of bread that they wanted when it was only Hunter at home. He was just sitting in front of the house when I accidentally kicked him in the leg. Of course I apologized to him, saying that I didn't noticed him but fortunately for me he wasn't angry and he even help me get the bread into the house.
I smiled at the memory, I didn't even noticed that we were already at Eda's house.
We walked into the kitchen to put down the cakes that me and Luz brought from my family's bakery. In the kitchen was Eda and Hunter.
"Hi kids" Eda greeted us only to have a polite nod from me and an excited greeting from Luz. Hunter only furrowed his eyebrows at her behavior. He looked in my direction with a questioning look and asked "What's with human?" "Nothing important" I said trying to avoid the conversation about the summer festival but unfortunately for me Luz didn't realized that because she started talking about it.
"We saw a poster about the summer festival and I was thinking about asking Amity to go with me" Luz said only to have Eda by her side with a teasing smirk. Hunter only hummed thinking about something, it made me kinda curious because he was looking at me from time to time.
".....A-Are you g-going?" I asked him looking at him shyly, he looked at me and said "I don't know, are you going?" "I don't know".
*The next day*
Hunter's POV
Summer festival huh? I wonder if I should go.
"What about Edric and Emira?" I heard Luz and Amity talking on the floor beside me. I decided to pay them no mind. "I can't stand them, all they doing all day is fighting about who will get to take Y/N to the summer festival" I quickly snapped my head in their direction.
What? They want to do what?
I felt a weird feeling growing inside me, I tried to ignore it but it didn't seem to cooperate with me. I decided to go out of the house to get some fresh air, on my way out I felt Luz's eyes on me.
*10 minutes later*
As I was sitting on the tree I heard a sound from the bushes. I was ready to defend myself until I saw that it was Luz. She quickly climbed up so she could sit next to me.
We were silent for a few seconds until she decided to break it "You okay Hunter?" I looked at her pretending to be clueless but it seems like Luz didn't believe me.
I sighed "To be honest I don't know, I just have this weird and unpleasant feeling in me" I said looking into the distance. When I heard no response I turned my head to the side only to see her smile but not some cocky smirk or anything like that, rather a genuine smile.
"You should do it Hunter" "What?" I asked her not knowing what she meant.
"I mean the summer festival, you should ask Y/N if she would want to go with you. I can see that you like her" I turned my head in the other direction "Just.....think about it" And with that she was gone, leaving me with my thoughts.
*The next day*
I knocked on Y/N's door, waiting for her response.
I can't believe that I'm really doing it.
"Come in"
Y/N's POV
Why can't I just forget about this festival?
Someone suddenly knocked on my door making me jump. I mumbled a quiet "Come in".
When the door opened I saw Hunter standing there, he was fidgeting with his fingers nervously.
"Hunter?" I tried to make him as comfortable as I could after I saw how nervous he was. He quickly looked up making me surprised.
"You know what? I just stop being a coward and I just say it. Would you like to go to the summer festival with me?" He said really fast making me freeze.
Huh? He wants to go to the summer festival? With me?
I smile at him making him slightly relaxed.
"Yeah sure"
*3 days later*
Hunter's POV
I still can't believe that she really agreed.
Right now I'm at place where the festival is supposed to take place, waiting for Y/N. From what I remember she is getting ready with Luz.
"Hi, sorry to keep you waiting" I heard Y/N's voice from behind me but when I turned around I saw her in a F/C yukata that had a lot of A/F/C flowers on it.
She looks absolutely astonishing.
I realized that she was already standing in front of me and I didn't even noticed that because I was too busy looking at her.
"You alright Hunter?" She asked me looking at me with a slightly concerned look. I quickly dismissed it before saying "I-It's just..." I paused for a second before finishing my sentence "You look amazing tonight".
Y/N started blushing. She looked away before looking back at me shyly "T-Thank y-you" She said smiling at me. After our little conversation we started walking around.
After some walking I noticed that the place started being more and more crowded. "It's getting crowded. Here, hold my hand" I said giving her my hand to hold, she looked at it for a moment before shyly accepting it. Her face red the whole time but who am I to talk I mean, I was red too.
*2 hours later*
Me and Y/N were standing at the beautiful hill that we found while we were looking for a place to watch fireworks. Even 2 hours later I still couldn't believe that I'm really here with her.
In this 2 hours I finally realized what was that weird feeling that I felt earlier, it was jealousy. I was jealous because I love her. I love her so much.
BANG
I looked back towards the sky seeing that the fireworks started appearing there. I could feel Y/N excitement which made me happy. I was glad that she was having a good time with me.
But a few minutes later I stopped looking at the fireworks, the one most important thing to me wasn't up in the sky but beside me. I think that she felt my gaze because she looked at me.
Our faces started coming closer and closer to each other until our lips met.
Fireworks and then our first kiss. Everything that night was perfect.
