Earlier the next morning Ash is awaken by the sound off birds chirping. He stirs in his bed and sits up letting out a loud yawn. He looks to his side and says "good morning Pikachu you sleep okay." Pikachu stirs and let's out a weary "Pika pi." Ash smiles and says "I know it's early buddy but today is the big day. Today we take on our first island kahuna." Pikachu rubs his eyes to wake himself up before stirring to get up. He jumps up on Ash's shoulder and shouts excitedly "pi pikachu." Ash smiles and says "I know your ready buddy but I'm not. Let's get changed get some breakfast and head out for the day." Pikachu nods in agreement as Ash leaps out of bed.
Ash makes his way to the kitchen and makes a quick breakfast for him and all his current Pokémon. He then heads back into his room where he takes a morning shower and brushes his teeth. He steps out of the shower and changes his clothes into his usual attire. He then stands in front off a mirror and spikes his hair up (his hair is like his old design because it is tragic in sun and moon) he finishes spiking his hair by putting on his trusty cap over the top of it.
He adjusts his cap and sighs. He looks in the mirror and thinks to himself "winning battles, teaching, stopping team skull and raising new Pokémon I've got a lot to think about. Ash continues to stare into the mirror deep in thought when a sweet voice snaps him out of his thoughts and back into reality.
"Ash I'm sorry I can't watch your battle today, I've got a performance practice. Still I'll be supporting you and I send all my love. I know you can do this." Ash smiles hearing Serena's voice as he feels all of his problems disappear. His mind feels at ease his worries fade and he completely relaxes. He smiles and replies "thank you Serena just hearing your voice is all I need. I'm going to win today because of you I promise."
Ash feels a jolt of happiness before his mind turns black and his aura connection fades again. It leaves him feeling sad that his connection is once again interrupted but left with a sense of happiness and hope after Serena's word. He feels motivated to win even more knowing she is supporting and pushing him to the very best he can be.
Ash opens his eyes and looks at the mirror with fire in his eyes before a small smirk breaks out. He turns his shoulder to see Pikachu watching him intently. Ash smiles and says "let's go win this thing Pikachu." Pikachu nods and leaps on Ash's shoulder as the two exit the house.
Ash makes his way outside the house to see the group including Hau waiting for him. Ash walks up and gives them a wave. He greets "hey guys." Kiawe folds his arms and says "you sure took your time." Ash scratches the back off his head and says "yeah I was just collecting my thoughts before the battle that's all. Hau says "your nervous right." Ash shakes his head and says "no not at all."
The group all sweatdrop as Mallow says "you must be nervous it's an island kahuna." Ash smiles and says "well with who I got supporting me there's not a chance I can lose." Ash walks ahead as the group look at Ash a little weirded out as they ponder who can be supporting him. They shrug it off however and follow him towards the battle arena.
After 5 minutes of walking Ash and the rest of the gang find themselves on the outskirts of the arena as a large crowd surrounds a circular ring. Ash raises an eyebrow and says "why are there so many people here." Kiawe says "it's not everyday that a kahuna gets challenged so that's what's attracted such a large crowd. Lille nods and adds "plus your kind of a celebrity these days your name is going to naturally bring large crowds."
Ash rolls his eyes and says "can't people just leave me be me." Mallow says "Ash your dream is to become a pokemon master if that happens attention and media will always follow you. I'm afraid this is just something you'll have to get used to." Ash sighs and says "yeah your right." He then turns around to the rest and says "well wish me luck."
The group all give Ash their best wishes and make their way to the stands to watch. Ash takes a deep breath while adjusting his cap. He mutters "showtime," and makes his way through the crowd towards the battlefield. The crowd all cheer and chant as Ash walks through them with only small metal barriers stopping them from getting to him. Ash puts his head up and smiles as he continues to walk forward. He approaches a set of stairs that leads into a circular ring. He walks up them and upon reaching the top he looks across to meet eyes with Hala.
Ash smiles and says "my name is Ash Ketchum from Pallet town and I'm here to challenge the kahauna for the fightinium z." Hala smirks and says "challenge excepted, I've been waiting for a proper challenge for almost 20 years now. You may have fought bravely against team skull but now it's time to see if you hold up on the battlefield against melemele islands best." Ash smirks and says "I don't plan to just hold up I plan to surpass the best."
The crowd cheer as the referee steps forward. He exclaims "this battle will be a three on three between the challenger Ash Ketchum and the Melemele island kahuna Hala. The battle will end when either sides pokemon are unable to battle. Only the challenger will be allowed to make substitutions. Do both trainers agree." Ash and Hala look at eachover and nod. The referee nods in response and shouts "please send out your first Pokémon."
Hala reaches down into his pocket and grabs a pokeball. He throws it and shouts "Stufful your up first." The pokeball lands and out comes a small teddy bear like pokemon on all fours. Ash takes out his Pokédex and says "who's that Pokémon." The Pokédex tells him that the Pokémon is called Stufful a normal and fighting type. Ash puts away his Pokédex and with the same hand takes a pokeball off his belt. He throws it and shouts "Rockruff I choose you." Rockruff exits his pokeball and let's out a mighty bark "Ruff." He then looks at his opponent and growls.
In the stands Hau tilts his head and says "is Ash an idiot he knows Rockruff is weak to fighting type moves. Kiawe smirks and says "Ash doesn't care about type matchups he only sends in a pokemon who he thinks can win the battle." The referee raises his hand and shouts "let the battle begin."
Ash quickly makes the first move of the battle extending his arm forward as he shouts. "Rockruff use bite." Rockruff nods and darts towards Stufful while bearing his fangs." Hala puts his arm forward and shouts use "take down." Stufful smirks and charges at Rockruff with a light blue aura surrounding him. The two attacks collide at full strength and both Pokémon fall back towards their trainers.
Knowing Stufful will take recoil damage Ash moves first looking to push the pace off the battle. He shouts use "rock throw." Rockruff leaps in the air while exclaiming "Ruff" he forms a boulder and throws it at Stufful. Hala extends his arms outwards and shouts "now use protect." Stufful stands on his hind legs and creates a a blue barrier that the rock throw collides with causing it to be completely neutralised.
Ash grits his teeth seeing Rockruff falling back down to the ground completely vulnerable to a counter attack. Hala knows this better than anyone and makes his move. "Stufful hit him with low sweep." Stufful nods and rushes towards Rockruff and smashes him with a low sweep right before he lands on the ground. The attack hits hard causing Rockruff to skid along the floor and crash in front of Ash.
Ash looks down and says with concern "are you okay Rockruff." Rockruff struggles back to his feet and bark "ruff rock ruff." Ash looks in deep thought and says to himself "I've got to find away around that protect." He then clicks his fingers and exclaims "that's it! Rockruff use rock throw again." Rockruff nods and leaps into the air throwing a rock towards Stufful.
Hala frowns and says to himself "what are they thinking." He snaps out of his thoughts and calls for the same counter as before. "Stufful use protect." Stufful nods and once again surrounds himself with a blue barrier. The rock throw once again bounces straight off the protective barrier giving everyone a sense off deja vu. Rockruff falls towards the ground as Hala starts to command another low sweep but is interrupted by Ash "not this time. Rockruff spin towards Stufful and use thunder fang."
Rockruff extends his fangs as they spark with electricity. He then spins while falling causing the electricity to surround him as he becomes an electric torpedo heading straight towards Stufful. The crowd gaps as Hala panics and shouts "quick use iron head." Stufful nods and jumps towards Rockruff with his head reflecting with iron. The attacks clash and push against each other before Rockruff wins out and pushes Stufful back causing him to skid back towards Hala.
Ash pumps his fist and says "great job Rockruff." Rockruff barks happily after receiving praise from his trainer. Hala frowns and shouts "it's not over yet use take down." Stufful tries to move and use the ordered attack however he is unable to as his body sparks with electricity. Ash grins and says "it looks like Stufful has been paralysed. It's our turn now Rockruff use rock throw." Rockruff nods and throws a boulder at the paralysed Stufful that causes him to get launched up in the air." Ash smirks and shouts "now let's wrap this up with thunder fang." Rockruff leaps into the air and bites down on Stufful with his electric fangs causing a small explosion.
The explosion clears as Rockruff lands back onto the floor panting heavily with a few marks and scratches on his body. Meanwhile Stufful lays on the floor with swirls in his eyes. The referee raises his flag and says "Stufful is unable to battle Rockruff is the winner." Ash pumps his fist and shouts "good job Rockruff." Rockruff turns around and barks happily at Ash.
In the stands Lille shouts "yes go Ash." Kiawe smiles and says "one down one to go." Hau replies "Ash may be good but he can't get over confident my grandfather has bigger challenges to come."
The crowd roars at the conclusion of the first match as Hala returns Stufful and thanks him for his efforts. Hala looks up at Ash with a smile and says "I'm impressed Ash your strategy is truly unpredictable. it is clear that you don't see every battle as black and white." Ash pumps his fist and says "no I don't every battle is different and everyone can be beat if you find the right strategy to counter them." Hala smiles and says "I share that sentiment but I wouldn't expect anything less from the Kalos league runner up and the one who stopped team flare."
He reaches into his pocket and takes out a pokeball. He smiles at it and says "however this next Pokémon is going to be a bit more ofa challenge." Ash smirks and says "I'm ready for anything no matter I'm winning this battle." Hala smiles and says "we'll continue on then." He throws the pokeball out and shouts "Hariyama your up next." Hariyama exits its pokeball and shakes the ground beneath him.
In the stand Hau gasps and says "Hariyama second grandfather never does that." The others turn to him and ask what he means. Hau says "grandfather always saves Hariyama for last he's up to something." Kiawe looks at the battlefield seriously and says "then Ash needs to stay on his toes."
Ash decides to stick with Rockruff as the two Pokémon face off. Ash makes the first move as he shouts "Rockruff get moving around Hariyama." Rockruff nods and takes off running circles around Hariyama. Hariyama looks frantically from left to right trying to locate the much smaller target. Ash sees this and shouts "now use tackle." Rockruff jumps up and slams his much lighter body into the heavy fighting type Pokémon as he essentially just bounces off causing a small amount off damage.
Ash smirks and shouts "now use thunder fang." Rockruff leaps up with electric fangs ready to slam them into his opponent. Hala snaps and says "enough games use drain punch." Hariyama raises his fist and slams it into Rockruff as the two attacks collide. Rockruff takes significant damage and slides back towards Ash while small orbs fly towards Hariyama healing the small damage done so far.
Ash grits his teeth and mumbles "dam it he healed." Rockruff stops himself skidding right in front off Ash and sees the floating orbs healing Hariyama. Seeing this Rockruff feels enraged as his eyes turn into a dark shade of red. Hala sees the red eyes first and mumbles "interesting." Ash sees Rockruff's demeanour start to change as he barks angrily at Hariyama. Ash shouts "Rockruff snap out of it."
Rockruff ignores his trainers call and instead launches himself towards Hariyama with his claws and fangs extended. Hala sees this and says in a cold tone "force palm." Hariyama readies his palm and slams it into Rockruff. The attack launches the small dog like pokemon into a nearby wall causing dust to kick up.
The dust settles as the crowd begins to cheer seeing Rockruff unconscious against the wall. The referee raises his flag and says "Rockruff is unable to battle Hariyama is the winner."
In the stands Hau asks "what did Rockruff just do." Kiawe says "it's the first time we've seen it but Ash explained that Rockruff can become enraged when he's losing a battle." Lillie whispers "its quiet scary."
Ash sighs and walks over to Rockruff who has just regained consciousness. Rockruff looks at the floor sad at being defeated and even more devastated that he became blinded by rage. Ash approaches Rockruff calmly and says "it's okay Rockruff you were awesome leave the rest to us." Rockruff looks up to Ash with a smile as he returns him to his pokeball.
Ash walks back towards his spot on the battle as Hala questions "obedience problems?" Ash shakes his head and says "it's nothing I haven't seen before." He then takes another a pokeball off his belt and shouts "Pikipeck I choose you." Pikipeck exits his pokeball and flies around the battlefield exclaiming "Piki piki.
Hala grins and says "a flying type, I hope you don't think you can win on just type advantage alone." Ash shakes his head and says "no we're going to win this battle by being stronger" Hala grins and says "bring it on."
The two trainers stare off for a second before Hala makes the first move. He extends his arm forward and shouts "use zen headbut." Hariyama nods and lowers his head as psychic energy appears around it. He charges head first towards Pikipeck ready to smack him with the attack. Ash shouts "dodge it." Pikipeck flaps his wings taking to the sky avoiding the incoming attack. Ash sees the chance to land an attack and shouts "now use peck."
Pikipeck swoops behind Hariyama and lands a peck to the back of the bigger Pokémon's head causing his to stumble but ultimately not take too
much damage. Seeing Pikpeck in close proximity Hala shouts "use force palm to swat him like a fly." Hariyama turns around 180 degrees ready to swat Pikipeck away. Ash sees this and shouts "fly low Pikipeck then use quick attack." Hariyama swings around his arm with force palm as Pikipeck ducks underneath before rising up to deliver a quick attack to the jaw.
Hariyama staggers again but is way to powerful to fall. Pikipeck may have landed a few hits but the constant hit and run strategy will only work for so long. Ash knows this and tries to land a big hit. "Use aerial ace." Pikipeck nods and flies forward surrounded by a light blue aura. Hala smirks as the bird pokemon nears and says calmly "ice punch." Hariyama raises a fist covered in ice and slams it into the approaching Pikipeck. Pikipeck takes the full brunt of the attack and skids back towards Ash smashing into the floor along the way.
Ash calls out with concern "you okay Pikipeck." Pikipeck grits his teeth and slowly drags himself back into the air while covered in marks. Ash grits his teeth and says to himself "we can't afford to take another hit like that." He quickly comes up with a plan and shouts "use double team." Pikipeck nods and creates a dozen clones of himself while flying forward towards Hariyama. Ash shouts "now everyone use peck" every Pikpeck nods and swoops down towards Hariyama with glowing blue beaks.
Hala watches as they all approach. He punches the air a few times and shouts "rapid fire ice and drain punches don't let them hit you." Hariyama readies both attacks on either fist as the pokemon approach. He slams fists continuously blocking the clones attacks. He slams an ice punch into the last one expecting it to be the real one however upon contact nothing happens. Hala looks around and says "where the." A smirk grows on Ash's face as he shouts "now." Suddenly Pikipeck descends down and hits Hariyama with a peck to the back off the head.
Ash smirks and shouts "now use aerial ace" Pikipeck swoops around while glowing with blue aura and smacks Hariyama with the attack forcing the pokemon to skid along the floor as he cries out in pain marks now appearing on his body.
The attack causes some separation for the two pokemon as both trainers smirk. They both shout at the same time "it's time to end this." Both trainers raise their z rings in the air as they start to glow and send z energy towards their respective pokemon.
Hala punches the air a few times and shouts "it's time to hit you with our strongest punch." Ash poses and shouts "this is everything we've got!"
Hala extends his arms out and shouts "its time for all out pummelling." Hariyama takes in the z energy and punches the air air sending massive hands towards Pikpeck. Ash smirks and shouts "breakneck blitz." Pikipeck takes in the z energy and barrels towards Hariyama taking in the all out pummelling. The two attacks collide and a massive explosion fills the area.
The crowd gasp as the two trainers watch closely to try and see the result off the collision. Suddenly smoke starts to clear and both Pokémon become visible. On one side Pikipeck is knocked out off the air perched on the floor with marks all over his body. Meanwhile on the other side Hariyama stands up straight and watches his opponent closely. The stand off continues for a few seconds until someone falls.
Thankfully for Ash Hariyama was the one to fall forward with swirls in his eyes. The referee raises his flag and exclaims "Hariyama is unable to battle Pikipeck is the winner." Ash pumps his fist and shouts "great job Pikipeck." The crowd roars as Pikpeck flies back into the air celebrating his victory.
In the crowd Lillie says "Pikipeck is small but mighty." Kiawe comments "it's amazing how well Ash has trained it in such a short space of time."
Meanwhile on the battlefield Hala returns Hariyama to his pokeball and thanks him for his efforts. He then looks up Ash with a small smile and says "pikipeck is well trained it shouldn't have been able to defeat my Hariyama with the level of experience gained." Ash smiles and says "it's simple we work hard we know we can win no matter what the odds."
Hala smiles at the young trainers enthusiasm as he reaches into his pocket and grabs another pokeball. He smirks while crossing his arms and says "I usually wouldn't do this for challengers at this early stage of the challenge but your different from anyone I've ever faced so I'll make an exception. I'm going to face you with my strongest Pokémon at my full power as if this was a challenge to become the kahuna itself."
He takes his pokeball and throws it while exclaiming "Crabominable it's battle time." The pokeball lands on the floor and an icy crab emerges. Ash takes his Pokédex from his pocket and scans it revealing it be a Crabominable.
In the crowd hau gasps and says "I've never seen grandfather so worked up." Mallow smirks and says "that's Ash for you he seems to know how to bring the best out of everyone he meets."
Back on the battlefield Ash smirks and says "I'm not afraid if your not holding back nether will we." He looks at Pikipeck and says "you can give it a shot if you want." Pikipeck not being one to shy down from a challenge flies down onto the battlefield and readies himself for battle. Ash pumps his fist and says "that's the spirit." The two Pokémon stare off as the referee commands them to continue.
Hala makes the first move of the battle as hecommands "Crabominable use ice beam." Crabominable opens his mouth and breathes in then out releasing a beam of ice towards Pikipeck. Ash watches as the attacks approaches and shouts "Pikpeck get in the air to dodge." Pikpeck flaps his wings and flies into the air Barley dodging the ranged attack.
"Use aerial ace." Ash shouts a Pikipeck descends towards his target coated in a blue aura. Hala sees the attack coming and commands "meet it with Crab Hammer." Crabominable raises one of his claws as it glows white. The two attacks clash and begin to push against each other battling for supremacy. The attacks continue to push against each other with no clear winner. Ash looks up to shout encouragement to Pikipeck but his eyes are quickly drawn to Hala who stands with a small smirk on his face. Ash mentally slaps himself as he realises he's played right into Hala's hands."
"Use ice beam" Hala exclaims as Crabominable opens his mouth and hits Pikipeck with a ray of ice the close proximity giving him no chance to dodge. Pikipeck screams in pain as he skids along the floor taking heavy damage from the super effective attack. Ash grits his teeth and shouts "Pikipeck you okay." Pikipeck gets back up but on pure adrenaline. Hala not wasting anytime decides enough is enough. "Use ice hammer," he exclaims." Crabominable obliges as he leaps forward with his claw replaced by a hammer of ice. He slams it into Pikipeck who falls backwards through the air before landing with a thud.
Swirls soon appear in the flying types eyes as the referee calls the match. "Pikipeck is unable to battle Crabominable is the winner." The crowd roars as Hala's signature Pokémon returns to his side.
In the crowd Mallow says "poor Pikipeck he tried so hard." Lille says "it gave its all but it wasn't enough." Kiawe nods as he looks down at the battlefield. He says "losing Pikipeck is a set back but Ash still has Pikachu and we know what he can do." Lille beams and says "your right, there's no way Pikachu can lose." Hau chuckles lightly and says "I wouldn't be so confident." Mallow raises her eyebrow and "what do you mean Hau." "Ash's Pikachu may be experienced but my Grandfather's Crabominable has trained for a lot longer. Not only that he's an ace of an island kahuna meaning he's a Pokémon strong enough to protect the whole island." The group all look down to the battlefield with mixed emotions but hoping that Ash can pull through.
Ash takes a pokeball off his belt and returns Pikipeck. He raises the pokeball to his face and says "you were really strong out there Pikipeck take a good rest."
Ash then diverts his gaze to the little yellow mouse by his side. He takes a knee and says "you ready Pikachu." Pikachu nods and fist pumps Ash before leaping onto the battlefield. Upon seeing one of Ash's powerhouses on the battlefield the crowd go crazy with chants of appreciation for the electric mouse.
Hala says "I've been waiting for someone to give me and Crabominable a real challenge for years. Can you two be the ones to finally give us the challenge we seek. Ash smirks and says "you bet me and Pikachu never disappoint." both trainers and pokemon lock eyes as Pikachu sparks his cheeks and shouts "Pika pi," in agreement with Ash. Hala punches the air a few times and says "then show me what makes you two so special."
Battle music
"If that's what you want then let's start this off. Pikachu use electroball," Ash exclaims as Pikachu leaps into the air launches a ball of electricity from his tail at Crabominable. Hala sees the incoming attack and shouts "block it with crab hammer." Crabominable responds by making an x sign up with two glowing white claws. The electroball smashes into Crabominable but any major damage is blocked.
"Use quick attack." Ash commands while pointing towards Crabominable. Pikachu nods and kicks off with white light surrounding him. He smashes his body into Crabominable while exclaiming "pika." The crab pokemon stumbles back upon contact but digs his claws in to stop himself from falling.
Hala seeing Ash taking earlier control of the battle makes his move. "Use close combat," Hala commands as Crabominable leaps forward towards Pikachu with all his limbs glowing white. Ash sees the attack coming and knows Pikachu has no time to dodge. Instead he decides to try to out duel Crabominable.
"Use iron tail," Ash shouts as Pikachu turns his tail into pure iron before swinging around towards the charging Crabominable. Crabominable catches Pikachu's tail with one clew before swinging to other in attempt to smack Pikachu. Pikachu swings his tail back around as the two continue to engage in a close quarters duel. After a good minute of back and forth Pikachu lands an iron tail to Crabominable's body.
Crabominable stumbles back before launching himself back forward smacking Pikachu with two quick kicks an an uppercut causing the electric mouse to get sent up into the air. Ash gaps "oh no Pikachu." Hala grins and shouts "now ice hammer." Crabominable jumps up into the air and hits Pikachu with an ice hammer to the body causing him to fall to the ground landing with a thud.
Ash grits his teeth and calls out with concern "you okay Pikachu." Pikachu claws the ground and stands back up covered in marks and bruises. He looks back to Ash and raises a fist as a sign he can continue. "Use ice beam," Hala calls out not giving Ash and pikachu a chance to rest. Ash shouts "quick Pikachu use thunderbolt." Pikachu nods and leaps into the air and shouts "PIKACHUUUUUUU!!" He shoots off a powerful thunderbolt that clashes with the ice beam causing a small explosion.
Hala reacts first and shouts "crab hammer let's go." Crabominable leaps towards Pikachu with a claw glowing white. Ash sees the attack coming from a mile away and shouts "dodge it then use iron tail." Pikachu rolls out of the way off the attack before smacking Crabominable in the face with his tail made of iron. Crabominable stumbles back as Ash yells "use electroball." Pikachu nods and flips through the air sending the ball of electricity towards Crabominable.
"Freeze it with ice beam," Hala yells as upon command Crabominable opens his mouth and shoots out a beam of ice towards the electroball. The two attacks clash and the electroball freezes over right in front of Crabominable. Hala smirks and says throw it back. Crabominable picks up the frozen electric ball and launches it towards Pikachu. "Dodge it." Ash shouts as Pikachu jumps over the ball of ice causing it to land safely outside the battlefield.
Ash points his arms forward and decides enough is enough. "Use iron tail." He shouts as Pikachu leaps forward swinging his tail towards Crabominable. Hala smirks and says "catch it."
Crabominable opens up his massive claw and traps Pikachu's tail inside. "Check mate," Hala exclaims with a sly smile on his face. Ash chuckles as a smirk appears on his face. "Pikachu electroball." Pikachu's face matches his trainers as a small smirk appears on his face. "Pika pika pika pika pika," he starts to chant as an electric ball starts to form on his tail. Hala gasps "Crabominable get out ofthere," but it's too late as the electroball grows bigger causing it to explode.
The explosion sends Crabominable skidding back while screeching in pain. Meanwhile the explosion sends Pikachu high into the air. The perfect position to strike. Ash smirks while fist pumping the air. "Wrap this one up with thunderbolt." Pikachu sparks with cheeks and shouts "PIKAAAAACHUUUUUUUU." He shoots out a powerful thunderbolt towards Crabominable who's eyes widen with peril. The attack connects and causes a huge explosion which sends shockwaves throughout the crowd.
The dust settles as one on side Pikachu appears on all fours panting heavily while covered in marks and bruises. Meanwhile on the other side Crabominable lies in a small crater with small swirls in his eyes. The referee raises his flag and says "Crabominable is unable to battle Pikachu is the winner. That means the match goes to the challenger Ash from Pallet town."
The crowd roars and cheer Ash's name at the announcement of his victory. Ash fist pumps the air as he shouts "we won Pikachu." Pikachu exclaims a happy "pika" and jumps into Ash's arms causing them both to giggle.
In the stands Lille shouts "Ash won he did it." Mallow smiles and says "he's even stronger than an island Kahuna." Kiawe adds "him and Pikachu are quite the duo."
Hau watches with a small smirk on his face. He whispers to himself "even Crabominable couldn't beat him he certainly looks quiet the trainer. I look forward to meeting you again Ash Ketchum." Hau looks around at the people celebrating and takes the opportunity to discreetly sneak through the crowd.
Ash and pikachu celebrate as Hala returns Crabominable thanking him for his efforts. He then walks up to Ash and extends his hand. "Great match Ash your some trainer young man." Ash smiles and takes Hala's hand as he says "you too Hala you gave me quite the run for my money." Hala smiles as they break up the handshake and reaches into his pocket. "Here as proof of your victory against me." He hands ash the fightium Z as Ash takes it and puts it away.
Hala folds his arms and says "Ash you have finally given me the challenge that seek after so many years. I look forward to seeing you battle in the Alola league." Ash smiles and says "thanks Hala so where is the next stop on the island challenge." Hala tells him that he must now travel to akala island and take on Lana the water type trial captain. Hala warns ash while she may be young she is definitely strong and not someone he should underestimate.
Ash shakes his head and says "I made that mistake once I never plan on doing it again." The two share one final nod before Ash turns around and leaves as the adoring crowd gathers around asking him all sort of questions.
Ash makes his way out of the crowd and finds his friends waiting for him by the Pokémon centre. After taking a break and healing up their pokemon Ash informs the group of the next island trial location on Akala island but also reminds them that they must go back to the school first before leaving Melemele upon the professors request.
They all nod in agreement of Ash's plan as they all run off ready for the adventure to continue.

Ash vs Hala is done and dusted.
This was my favourite battle so far to write so I hope it was to read as well.
My concept off this battle was to start off with Hala battling as a first island Kahuna to test Ash's strength before using an elite 4 level pokemon for Pikachu to take on
Pikachu is a strong boy at this point so no point in having him go against early level pokemon that we know he can beat.
That being said soon i will stop making him the mvp off every battle just at the early stage it makes sense with his other pokemon still learning and getting in sync with Ash
Every pokemon will get their chance to shine at some point.
The next chapter should be a shorter one but filled with plenty off plot so look forward to that one.
