A few weeks later
James: Jordan give it back
Jordan: no
James: it's mine
Jordan: I. Don't. Care
James: stop being a prick
I tried to take my phone off him and he pushed me so I ended up knocking over dads glass. We watched as it landed on the floor shattering into pieces
Dad: what the fuck was that?
Dad walked into the kitchen
Dad: James clean it up
James: No Jordan pushed me
Dad: I don't care clean it up
James: I said no
Dad: you really wanna play that game huh
Jordan: why don't you be a good little boy and do what your told
Jordan just kept winding me up until I lost it. I started swinging for him and dad pushed me to the floor
Dad: that's enough.
James: I hate you. You never take my side. Everything is always my fault. Mum would have believed me
Dad: I don't want you here anymore. Get out
James: No
Dad: I'm not playing. Leave
James: Make me
That's all he needed to hear. He charged over to me and grabbed my collar. He punched me in the ribs and threw me outside.
James: I fucking hate you
I walked to Daniel's house and knocked on the door. Missy answered
Missy: you alright James
James: er yeah.
Missy: you need anything?
James: would I be able to stay the night?
Missy: sure you don't even have to ask. Come in
James: thank you
I went in and followed Missy to the sofa.
James: where's Daniel?
Missy: in bed. You want a drink?
James: milkshake?
Missy: strawberry?
James: you know me to well
Missy made my milkshake and some guy walked in
James: who the fuck are you?
??: erm I'm Aaron I live here
James: since when. Missy! There's some random guy here
Missy walked in with my drink and sat next to me
Missy: this is Aaron my boyfriend. Aaron Daniels friend James

Aaron: hi? Why is he here if Daniels in bed?
James: it's none of your business
Missy: he's like my little brother and he's having trouble at home which he didn't actually tell me what happened?
James: it was nothing dad just needs to cool off
Missy: Jay
James: dads just being a prick and me and Jordan had a fight
Missy: where was Cory?
James: in bed with some random woman like the manwhore he is
Missy: cut him some slack and your dad
James: my dads a useless prick who would rather drink himself to death than look after his kids. He doesn't even care about us
Missy: I'm sure he does. He just doesn't show it
James: beating on your kids is caring about them huh?
Missy: James
James: you know what forget it I shouldn't of come here
Missy: No James stay we won't talk about it anymore.
James: you can't tell anyone about dad even you Aaron
Both: we won't
James: pinky promise
I held out my pinkys and they interlocked theirs with mine
James: can we watch tv?
Missy: sure
Missy put the tv on and we sat in silence
James: Thanks for being there for me.
Missy: I'll always be here for you kiddo. You're family

After a few minutes he fell asleep on Aaron. Aaron grabbed a pillow and put it on his lap and carefully laid James' head down.
Aaron: your good with him
Missy: he doesn't really have anyone else. Cory does what he can but he struggles. Sometimes the responsibility gets to much especially when he has to look after an alcoholic dad and 2 brothers with ADHD as well as school and everything else
Aaron: he seems like a good kid
Missy: yeah he is. It's nice having him around. I do worry about him tho
Aaron: he'll be okay
Missy: hopefully
The next morning
Missy: James wake up
He woke up and zombie walked to the bathroom. I went downstairs and Missy made breakfast. Daniel and Hayley were already at the game
James: where's Aaron?
Missy: work
James: I like him. He seems like a good guy. But if he hurts you me and Daniel will smash his face in
Missy: ah my own little body guards
Daniel: how comes you stayed over?
James: dad was being a prick and me and Jordan had a fight
Daniel: oh. You good tho?
James: yeah
Missy: your alright to go in today?
No answer. I looked over to him and he was zoned out
Daniel: hey Jay
James: hmm yeah that's cool
Missy: do you know what I said?
James: erm no
Missy: I said are you alright to go to school?
James: yeah I'll be fine
Missy: right come on otherwise we'll be late
We all put our plates in the sink and got ready for school.
James' pov
Daniel didn't have any spare uniform so I looked in a box that had some of my clothes in. The box was just filled with clothes that I had forgotten when I came round. It was all clean tho. I got ready and went downstairs

We made our way to school and I saw Jordan

Jordan: I'm sorry
I walked off and went to form
Mr Bell: your late
James: No shit Sherlock
Mr Bell: watch your mouth
He looked at me
Mr Bell: James a word outside
I walked outside following him
Mr Bell: where's your uniform?
James: erm I didn't spend the night at home. I stayed at the Booth's.
Mr Bell: is everything okay at home?
James: er yeah I just had a huge fight with everyone. I left so it wouldn't get any worse.
Mr Bell: okay I'll send an email out so you don't get in trouble
James: thanks sir
For the whole of form I was just zoned out thinking about everything.
The bell went and I walked to my next lesson. I was walking around when Jordan and Cory saw me
Cory: James
James: what
Cory: how are you?
James: don't act like you care
Jordan: of course we care
James: then why just stand there watching while dad kicked me out. Once again I took the blame. And once again I get punished for it
Cory: where are you staying?
James: it's got nothing to do with you
Cory: I need to know your safe
James: I'm here aren't I
I walked off and went to my next lesson.
Miss Keane: what time do you call this?
James: look at your watch it will tell you
