{ WARNING: this chapter may also include some triggering stuff so if you don't like that then I suggest you don't read this part. Don't worry it will be over soon :) }
{and also, there's not that much in this chapter}

I watched as the medics carried her onto the gurney, and out the door.
I quickly caught up to them and asked,
"Will she be okay?"

"It's hard to tell at the moment. We'll have to wait until we get her into the ambulance." They answered.
I gave a small nod.

I assumed they wouldn't let me go with them in the ambulance, so I ran to my car.
"Wait!" Jessica interrupted, grabbing my shoulder.

"Is she okay?" She asked me.

"Why do you care? I thought you hated her." I responded.

"I..." She started, "Are you going to follow the ambulance?"

"Yeah. And you're slowing me down with that at the moment." I told her.

"Do you want me to go with you?" She asked.

"No. I'd rather you stay. You don't even like her anyways." I replied.

And with that, the ambulance began to speed away, and I followed.

.
.
.
.

As I drove, I began to wonder...
Was I going to be the only one with her in the hospital?
That made me realize...
I was really all she had.

I looked at the giant ambulance in front of me.
What was going on in there?
Was she even alive?!

Thoughts of her lifeless, dead body inside that vehicle in front of me haunted my mind.

Her lying there, without the usual vibrant color in her cheeks...
Without the pink rose color of her lips...
The faithful nurses and doctors desperately trying to revive her.

Her fair skin... now as white as a sheet...
The only sense of color coming from the blood dripping scars on her wrists-

I shook my head, trying to clear the frightening images from my mind.

"She's fine Louis." I told myself,
"She won't give up on me.
She won't."

The hospital came into view and I loosened my grip on the steering wheel.

I took a deep breath as I quickly parked my car, watching the ambulance stop in front of the hospital to take her inside.

I sprinted inside the doors.
I was about to ask the lady at the desk where to go, but before I could, she was pointing me in the right direction.
I nodded and went to a room that I saw them take her into.

"Sir, you can't go in there right now. If you want to see her, you are going to have to wait." A nurse told me as she was going inside.
"Wait! Will it be long?" I asked her.
"No, it shouldn't take too long. We just need to give her stitches before she looses too much blood, and then she should be alright." She replied, giving me a sympathetic smile.
I nodded and thanked her, taking a seat right outside the door.

An hour passed, and I was still outside tapping my foot on the tile floor.

*KATHRYN'S POV*

I heard Louis' voice faintly as my mind wandered in it's unconsciousness.
"Will she be okay?!"

"I'm sorry Louis!" I tried to tell him, but my mouth wasn't opening.

I felt myself being torn away from him, and I heard his voice again but it wasn't next to me anymore.

"She's a waste of time, Louis." Sarah was telling him,
"You don't need her anyways."
"If she cared for you, she wouldn't have killed herself."

"I didn't mean to!" I tried to yell.

"You're right, Sarah. You're right... I never should've gotten involved.
She's too much to deal with."
He told her.

"Louis... please..."
I felt my eyelids drooping, and my mind went blank.

.
.
.

I opened my eyes again to see a bright white light.

I heard a beeping sound, like the sound you hear when you blow a dog whistle.

Danny appeared in front of me.

"Kathryn?" He asked.
I nodded, and felt his arms wrap around me.
I hugged him back, not knowing what else to do.
I was confused as hell.

"What are you doing here?" He questioned,
"I thought I left you."

"W-what?! I-"

"I don't love you Kathryn." He told me,
"I never did.
So why don't you just die already."

I felt burning in my wrists and they began to bleed, from the inside.

I cried in pain and Danny laughed evilly at the sight of me.

"Pathetic."
"No one will ever love you." He told me.

My white surroundings faded to black, and Danny disappeared from in front of me.

I fell to the ground, crying in agony from my wounds.

It seemed as if I was never going to stop bleeding.

"You're worthless."

"You little whore."

"Bitch."

"You aren't my daughter!"

"I don't need you! Life would be better without you!"

"You weren't there for me when I needed you. Fuck off Kathryn!"

"No one will ever love you."

"She's too much to handle anyways."

"Why don't you just die
already."

All the dreadful thoughts from my past, and present haunted my mind.

I was dreaming.
This had to be a dream.

Or I was already dead.

And suddenly, I didn't regret what I did to myself tonight.

.
.
.

I opened my eyes.
The first thing I was greeted with was bright white lights.
Hospital lights.

I heard the heart monitor next to me beeping steadily.

I was alive.

I looked to my left and saw Louis talking on the phone to someone.
He was talking on my phone to someone.

Above me was a tube connected to my arm, which was probably being used to restore all the blood I had lost.

Next to me was a glass of water and some saltine crackers on a tray.

Both of my wrists were bandaged with a white rough material which was tightly wrapped around, so I couldn't see what the damage was.

"She's still asleep right now... yes. No it's no problem, really. I wouldn't have just left her there. Yeah. That's great. Good, okay I'll let him know." Louis spoke into my phone, "I'm not going to tell her, she already has enough on her plate. Yeah I'll bring her in when she arrives. 2 hours, right I got it. Like I said Miss, it's no problem. Alright.
Alright, okay bye."

He turned around, his eyes locking on mine.

"You're awake!" Louis exclaimed.
He rushed over to my bed, grabbing my hand.

"How are you? Are you feeling alright?" He asked.

"Yeah... Yeah I'm fine." I replied, "Who were you on the phone with?"

"It doesn't matter now." He answered, "I just want you to relax right now. The doctor said to try to keep you as calm as possible."

"Why? I'm not insane, Louis." I responded.

"I'm just scared, Kathryn. I don't want you trying anything else. The doctor said that you would be really emotional and confused when you wake up." He explained, "He said the patients either wake up relieved that they are alive, or they wish that they were dead."

"Sometimes they try to kill themselves again upon their waking, and I don't want that to happen. So I'm trying to keep you calm."

I nodded, remembering the dream.
None of it was real.
Louis was still here with me.
He cared.

"I don't wish I was dead." I mumbled.

"Good." He whispered.

I then noticed his eyes.
They were puffy and red, from crying.

He was crying because he thought I was going to die.

"I'm sorry Louis... I didn't mean to... I- I I'm sorry. I'm so sorry..." I cried into his shoulder.

"It's okay. We can talk about this later. I'm just glad you're okay." He told me.

"It's not okay, Louis!" I yelled, "I made you cry... I- I made you worry. I did that without even thinking about the effect it would have on you. I was only thinking about myself. I'm sorry... I'm sorry-"

"Shh shh it's okay." He whispered, laying his forehead on mine, "I'm okay, you're okay it's all okay. As long as you're alive, it's fine."

I nodded, trying to blink away the tears that prickled my eyes.

He wrapped his arms around my waist, and I kept my aching arms at my sides.

"I'm so glad I'm alive, Louis. I'm so glad that they saved me." I whispered.

"Me too." He replied.
