It was late at night, the same night of the day Jake had been kicked from the music club. Him and Drew had gotten a pizza and hung at out his house for a bit. Drew had left to go home not that long ago. Once he had left, Jake told his mom he wanted to spend some time alone. So he went to his room, put his headphones on, and was blasting music in his ears as he layed in bed
His mind was flooding with all sorts of thoughts and his body was feeling a bunch of feelings at once. Thinking of Drew defending him, and kissing and hugging him (A/N: nothing insane like that, just him giving him little kisses on his cheek-) in the music room made his stomach fill with butterflies, and he couldn't stop smiling when he thought of him. But at the same time, he couldn't stop thinking about all the things the club said to him. His face had finally stopped hurting from the slap Milly gave him. Mainly, Everything Hailey and Zander had said was swarming his brain like crazy. His stomach began hurting badly. Quickly he sat up and tossed his headphones aside. He took a few sharp breaths, then grabbed his phone and texted Drew
🎤🎶: Drew, I don't feel good
💵💕: What's wrong? Ya still thinking about what happened today?
🎤🎶: No, it's not like that. I think I'm gonna throw up
💵💕: Oh shit...maybe go tell your mom
Before Jake could answer, he gagged a bit. Quickly he put his phone down and got up to go downstairs, holding his stomach with one hand and his other hand over his mouth. When he got down, he saw his mom in the kitchen cooking
"M-Mom...?"
"Hey, honey! I'm making turkey meatballs and I'm gonna freeze em so we can have em tomorrow, kay?"
Jake's mom looked over. Her smile turned into a look of concern. "Honey..? Are you okay..?" she asked
"I-I d-don't feel good..." Jake managed to get out before gagging a bit again

Jake had thrown up almost four times in the bathroom, his mom sitting next to him the whole time. When he was finally done, he immediately started crying
"Sweetheart, please tell me what's wrong..." Jake's mom said. "I-It's nothing, mom..." Jake said as he took a few deep breaths. "I-I'm just t-tired, th-that's all...."
"Why are you crying then...?" his mom questioned "and what made you so sick...?"
"I-It was p-probably the pizza me and Drew had..." Jake said. He had some doubts on that though. "A-And...I-I'm just crying cause I'm upset from being sick..." he lied. He didn't wanna tell his mom he'd been kicked from the club
"Baby, don't be upset about the sick part..." Jake's mom said as she stood up "maybe now's a good time for you to go to bed...?"
Jake nodded as he stood up, then hugged his mom. "Love you, mom..." he said. "I love you too, Jake...and remember, you can always always tell me if, and when something is bothering you..."
Jake nodded smiling. He washed up, then headed to his room. He closed his door, shut the lights off, then went and layed in bed, staring up at the ceiling until he fell asleep

The next day at school, Jake was sitting on a bench that was outside the school. The area where he was sitting was covered, which was good since it was raining. He had his headphones on, blasting loud music into his phone
He didn't wanna be at school. His mom said he could stay home if he was still feeling sick, but he wasn't feeling sick, and he didn't want to stay home too much. He wanted to see Drew
"JAKE."
Jake flinched a bit, almost falling back. He looked up, and saw Drew had lifted one side of his headphones to talk to him. Liam and Henry were standing on the other side of Jake
"H-Huh...? What...?"
"I asked if you were feeling okay." Drew said "Couldn't hear me over your music?"
"U-Uh....no, sorry..." Jake said shaking his head no. "S'alright" Drew said, giving a small shrug.
"Jake, ya look like hell." Henry said, his eyes going a bit wide. Jake looked down, kinda anxious. Drew took his hand then pulled him up
"You feeling any better after last night?" Drew asked. Jake shrugged. "Didn't eat breakfast this morning..." he said
"Ooh, what happened last night?" Henry said smiling "you two go on a hot date? At the movies? Maybe a scary movie where one of you- JAKE- got super scared and was clinging onto the other one the entire time?"
Drew rolled his eyes. "Grow up, Henry. Stop acting like your five." he sighed
"And for your information," Jake said "I threw up last night. A lot. Four times to be exact."
"Man, that's rough, dude." Liam said. Henry nodded
"You sure you should be at school today..?" Drew asked, putting both his hands on Jake's shoulders
"Don't worry, Drew..." Jake said "I'm fine....besides...I have something I need to take care of today..."
Drew, Liam, and Henry all looked at each other confused. Jake checked something on his phone before putting it back in his coat pocket
"....uhh...whatcha....got planned for today, Jakey?" Henry said. Jake hesitated before saying;
"I have some talking to do with the music club."
The 10 minute warning bell rang. Jake put his headphones back over his ears. "See you guys at lunch." he said. He then put his music back on, still blasting, and headed into the school, towards his class
"...you....think he's gonna be...okay?" Liam asked as him, Henry, and Drew also headed inside. Henry shrugged. "I hope so..." Drew said

Jake had explained his whole situation to Daisy. To his relief, she was on his side. She agreed that Jake deserved a chance to explain himself. Since Jake and Daisy had the same homeroom class together, Jake had texted Daisy and asked if she could wait outside the class for him. As he was waiting there for her, he looked back at the texts between him and her from the night before, and from the current morning

Daisy🌼: Oh, Jake, I'm so sorry....you're so talented and wonderful! They don't know what they're missing out on...
Jake🎤: Thanks, Daisy...
Daisy🌼: I'm so shocked right now...they really didn't give you a chance to explain yourself??
Jake🎤: Nah, not really...
Daisy🌼: That ticks me off....I'm sorry, I know they were your friends and you trust them and everything, and I get they're upset...they have a right to be upset...but they should've given you a chance to explain yourself and why you said what you said
Jake🎤: You really think so...?
Daisy🌼: Of course! You said it yourself, you didn't mean what you said at all! You were pressured into saying it!
Jake🎤: Thank you, Daisy...I'm glad someone believes me...
Daisy🌼: Jake, I know this sounds like a long shot, but...maybe you could try explaining it to them again? I'm not sure if it would work, but it certainly doesn't try, right?
Jake🎤: Yeah, you're right...but how can I even get them to show up? Let alone meet me somewhere...they won't even look in my direction in the halls
Daisy🌼: I can help with that! But I might head to bed for the night, I'm super tired🥱sorry😥mind if I explain tomorrow?
Jake🎤: I don't mind waiting👍thanks again, Daisy...see you tomorrow
Daisy🌼: Goodnight, Jake! Hope you feel better <3
TODAY, 7:20 AM:
Jake🎤: Hey👋your bus get you yet?
Daisy🌼: Yep! How are ya today?
Jake🎤: Crappy.....you?
Daisy🌼: Aw, I'm sorry....and I'm doing alright. Kinda tired still, but good
Jake🎤: That's good to hear....hey, if you don't mind my asking, what was your plan you mentioned last night before you left?
Daisy🌼: Oh, right! Well, I figured I can help you get the music club in one place, by ME texting each of them and asking them to meet where you wanna meet them. I have all their contacts, so it shouldn't be too hard! And I won't mention your name at all, I promise!
Jake🎤: Wait, really..? What would it say...?
Daisy🌼: Most likely something along the lines of "can you meet me in the music room later? I wanna ask you all something about the competition!"
Jake🎤: Wow....you'd really do that for me...?
Daisy🌼: Of course! Jake Sterling, I have known you for as long as I can remember! I'm always willing to help you out!
Jake🎤: Thank you so much...and that plan sounds good...

"Jake??"
Jake lifted his head and saw Daisy in front of him. He had turned his music down a bunch in case she came down the hall calling out for him
"Oh, morning, Daisy..." Jake said "not to pry and bug, but...didja send the texts...?"
"You bet I did!" Daisy said as she unlocked her phone. She opened her messages app, and showed Jake one of the texts
"Hey Hailey, can you meet me in the music room today after school? I wanna ask you and the club something about the upcoming competition. Just some simple questions for a school survey!"
"And I sent it to each of them!" Daisy smiled. "Did any of them respond...?" Jake asked
"Most of them did!" Daisy said "Sean said of course, Milly said 'sure, I guess'...Luke said yes, and Zander just sent a thumbs up"
"Huh....and none of them suspected anything...?" Jake questioned. Daisy shook her head no. Then Jake realized something which brought up a question
"...what did Hailey say...?"
"Hailey hadn't responded yet..." Daisy said looking back at her phone messages. "The text was sent, but she hasn't opened it yet...if she doesn't, I can try to ask her later in history!"
Jake nodded, then noticed the time on Daisy's phone. "Crap, we should probably head in..." he said smiling nervously. Daisy noticed it aswell, and the two of them headed in and sat at their desks, the bell ringing as soon as they sat
As class started and everyone started getting their books out, Jake's phone buzzed in his coat pocket. He pulled it out and looked at it, only to see a text from Daisy
Daisy🌼: Just got a text back from Hailey. She said she'll be at the music room
Jake looked over at Daisy, and she looked back at him. Both of them smiled to each other as Daisy gave Jake a thumbs up

Jake🎤: About to head in, wish me luck
Daisy🌼: I'm rooting for ya, Jake! And remember, whatever happens, I'm on your side <3
Jake smiled at the most recent text daisy had sent him. He sighed as he put his phone in his pants pocket, then opened the door to the music room. Staying standing in the doorway, he saw the whole music club inside talking. As soon as the door opened, all of them looked over. They're expressions immediately went cold and cruel
"....Jake, what are you doing here..." Zander said. Hailey looked down completely silent
"I wanted to talk to you all." Jake said coldly
"Well, too bad. Leave." Milly said "We have some important things to discuss with Daisy when she gets here..."
"Au contraire, Millicent." Jake said, walking in and closing the door behind him. He stayed standing in front of him. "Daisy actually helped me plan this little meeting."
"She...set us up..?" Sean questioned. He felt kinda hurt by Daisy now too. However, he hadn't told Daisy yet about everything that happened with Jake. So he couldn't blame her for this
"In a way, yes. She did." Jake continued "BUT. she did it to help me. I wanted to discuss a few things with you all. I don't want ANY interruptions, ANY outbursts, or ANY excuses used. And that goes for both me, and you guys. Do I make myself CLEAR?"
The club all looked at each other, then back at Jake. "Excuse us for a moment." Zander said. "Take your time" Jake nodded, waving his hand at them as if to motion for them to continue whatever they were about to do. The club huddled together, whispering about things. Jake suspected those things involved his presence in the club, and the club debating on whether or not they should let him explain. Finally, after almost ten minutes, they all turned back to Jake.
"Fine...start talking." Zander said, folding his arms. Jake nodded

"First of all." he began "I would just like to say I am sorry about the recording. I didn't mean any of what I said at all. I was under pressure by a group of people, who I think you can guess who. But I didn't mean a word of what I said about you guys. I think you're all amazingly talented."
"BULLSHIT." Zander screamed. "I'M NOT GONNA LISTEN TO YOUR LIES, JAKE."
Luke held his arm in front of Zander to keep him from moving any further towards Jake. He didn't want a fight to break out
"JUST ACCEPT IT, JAKE. YOU MADE A MISTAKE, AND NOW YOU'RE FACING THE CONSEQUENCES. SO JUST MOVE ON WITH YOUR LIFE."
Jake sighed. He tried to handle this calmly without yelling. But clearly that wasn't gonna work
"Guess I'm gonna have to handle this the hard way..." Jake thought to himself. Even though he promised himself he wouldn't have an outburst on the club, he decided something needed to happen so they would listen to him
"YOU KNOW WHAT?!" Jake shouted at the club. Zander took a step back to where he was first standing. "I AM NOT GONNA TAKE THIS ANYMORE. I'M NOT GONNA STAND HERE, AND LET YOU GUYS NOT GIVE ME A CHANCE TO EXPLAIN MYSELF. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH I'M HURTING RIGHT NOW!!!"
"OH, IS THAT SO?!" Milly shouted back. "WELL THEN, JAKE STERLING. HOW ABOUT YOU TELL US. TELL US HOW YOUR LIFE IS SO HARD!!!"

"FOR STARTERS," Jake began "AT LEAST YOU ALL AREN'T ASHAMED OF SHOWING OFF YOUR INTERESTS TO OTHER PEOPLE AT SCHOOL. AND YOU DON'T CARE WHAT OTHER PEOPLE AT SCHOOL THINK OF YOU!! I'VE HAD TO DEAL WITH THAT EVER SINCE MIDDLE SCHOOL. PEOPLE BULLYING ME, CALLING ME A FREAK, SAYING I'LL NEVER GET ANYWHERE IN LIFE!! ALL BECAUSE I LET MY LOVE OF MUSIC OUT FOR THE WORLD TO KNOW ABOUT!!"
The music club all looked at each other in confusion and slight shock. In all the time they knew Jake, they never knew about that happening to him
"THEN I MET DREW, LIAM, AND HENRY." Jake continued. "PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY ACCEPTED ME FOR WHO I WAS. BUT HERE'S THE THING- FOR THE LONGEST TIME, I NEVER TOLD THEM ABOUT HOW MUCH I LOVE MUSIC. BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT TO LOOSE SOME OF THE ONLY FRIENDS I'D EVER HAD. AND THE ONLY REASON I STARTED BULLYING YOU GUYS, WAS BECAUSE OF THE SAME REASON. I DIDN'T WANNA LOOSE SOME OF THE ONLY FRIENDS I'D EVER HAD."
Now the club was really shocked. It wasn't until now that they were learning the real reason Jake had started bullying them
"THEN I JOINED YOUR CLUB." Jake said "Oh, and what a MISTAKE THAT WAS. YES, AT FIRST IT WAS ONLY TO IMPRESS DAISY. BUT WITH TIME I ACTUALLY GREW TO LIKE YOU GUYS. AND I LOVED BEING FRIENDS WITH EACH OF YOU. BECAUSE YOU'RE ALL TRULY NICE PEOPLE!! YOU ALL HAVE AMAZING QUALITIES THAT MAKE YOU WHO YOU ARE. NONE OF YOU ARE FREAKS OR LOSERS TO ME. YOU'RE TALENTED AND AMAZING PEOPLE TO BE AROUND!!!"
"You....you think that about us...?" Hailey asked, pretty quiet when speaking rather than yelling again
"AND NOW," Jake said "BECAUSE OF ONE MISTAKE. ONE MISTAKE THAT YOU DIDN'T EVEN KET ME EXPLAIN, YOU'RE ALL GONNA THROW ME OUT, FORGETTING HOW MUCH TIME WE SPENT TOGETHER AND EVERYTHING WE'VE BEEN THROUGH!!"
The music club looked at each other again. They all were starting to feel a bit guilty
"YOU, LUKE." Jake said, turning to Luke as he began to tear up. Luke jumped a little, looking at Jake
"WHEN YOU WANTED TO WRITE A LOVE SONG FOR ZANDER, WHO OFFERED TO SING IT FOR YOU?!"
Luke looked down, rubbing his arm anxiously. "Y-You did..." he said
"Yeah, but you didn't actually sing it...Hailey did..." Milly said quietly. But Jake still heard her
"MILLY." he said, making Milly look up
"WHEN ZOEY AND LIA STOLE YOUR DIARY, WHO WENT AND GOT IT BACK FOR YOU?!"
"....you did..." Milly said quietly
"HM?! WHAT WAS THAT?!" Jake said, putting his hand around his ear
"I said, you did....!!" Milly said, raising her voice. Jake nodded
"THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT. AND SEAN. WHEN YOU LOST YOUR LAPTOP, WHO HELPED YOU LOOK FOR IT AND EVEN OFFERED TO LET YOU USE THEIRS?!"
Sean sighed. "You...." he said, rubbing the back of his head
"ZANDER." Jake said. Zander raised an eyebrow at Jake
"WITHOUT EVEN BEING ASKED, WHO GOT MORE PEOPLE INTERESTED IN THE BAND COMPETITION?!"
Zander didn't wanna answer that question, knowing the answer and hating it
"WHAT'S THAT?! DID I HEAR CRICKETS CHIRPING?!" Jake yelled
"UGH, FINE!!" Zander groaned in frustration "It...it was you..."
Jake looked at Hailey
"And you, Hailey..." he said, lowering his voice. Hailey looked up. Jake could see the guilt in her dark eyes
"Who was it that offered to sing a duet with you...who was it that stood up for you any time you fought with Jake....who had your back whenever you needed someone..."
Hailey kept listening to all the reasons Jake was giving off. Once he was done he just stared at her as she looked off to the side, not wanting to answer like Zander
"Well?" Jake said "you heard the answer from everyone else. So you should know it."
Hailey sighed. She looked like she was gonna cry
"....y-you...." she said
Jake nodded. Now he looked like he was gonna cry too
"Well...I guess I'll be leaving you all now..." he said smiling. He started to walk toward the door, then turned back to the music club
"Good luck to you all in the competition...I know you'll do amazing....I'll be cheering you all on from the front row....and also, I won't forget any of the good times we've had together..."
With that, Jake left the music room, closing the door behind him. The entire club was silent. Hailey looked down at the floor, shaking slightly
"You okay, sis....?" Zander asked, taking a step forward. Hailey looked up crying. She took a shaky breath, then said "....I'm okay, Zander..."

Jake walked out of school and looked around. He saw Drew, Liam, and Henry standing in the distance talking to each other. Drew looked annoyed with the other two, as Henry was goofing off and Liam was laughing uncontrollably about something. Jake smiled a bit, shaking his head. He started to walk towards him, then he heard a familiar voice calling his name
"Jake!!"
Jake turned around and saw Daisy running in his direction
"Oh, hey Daisy.." he smiled once Daisy got over. She was completely out of breath
Jake waited a bit for Daisy to catch her breath to ask his question
"What's up?"
"I can't talk for long.." she smiled a little "I was just about to get on my bus, when I saw you coming out of school...I had to ask my bus driver if she could wait a few minutes for me to talk to you quickly.."
"Oh, heh..." Jake laughed a bit "well, that's noce of her..."
Daisy nodded, then asked "how did it go with the club...?"
Jake sighed, looking down
"Well..." he said "it...it started off pretty bad...they didn't get really...physically violent...and after a bit they listened to what I had to say..."
"Th-That's good...!!" Daisy smiled "when...when you were done explaining, what did they say...?"
"Not....really much of anything..." Jake said "Nothing about letting me back in the club or forgiving me or anything..."
Daisy sighed. "I'm sorry, Jake...I wish I could help more..."
"You've done enough to help, Daisy..." Jake smiled "just getting them somewhere for me to talk to them was enough....and I'm really grateful for that..."
Daisy smiled. Suddenly both of them heard a horn honking behind them
"S-Sorry, I gotta go..." Daisy said. "See you when I see you...?"
Jake nodded. "Sounds good.."
Daisy nodded, then rain to her bus. After she left, Jake headed over to Drew, Liam and Henry
"Jake!!" Henry smiled as the three of them saw Jake getting closer.
"Whaddup, mister simp?" Liam asked. "Eh, could be better..." Jake sighed with a shrug
"How did it go?" Drew asked, putting his phone in his sweater pocket
"Could've gone better...I yelled...a lot..."
"Did they listen at least?" Drew asked
"Well, once I started yelling, yeah...they did..." Jake said
Drew smiled a bit
"The devil didn't try to attack you or anything?" Henry asked
"No, Henry, she didn't.." Jake said, shaking his head a bit
"I hate to interrupt this informative conversation, but I'm gonna go" Liam said "Henry, wanna come with?"
"Hells yes!" Henry smiled. He then turned to Jake and Drew. "See you guys later!" he smiled. Liam waved to them, then him and Henry left. Drew and Jake were standing there for a bit in silence, watching other students around them leave
"Sooooo..." Drew started to say. Jake looked at him
"Wanna come to my place and play Genshin for a bit?"
"I'd love to.." Jake smiled, before him and Drew walked off together, with Jake feeling like a huge weight had been lifted from his shoulders
