Zander woke up with a splitting headache and his throat feeling dead. He rubbed his head as he slowly sat up, shaking while barley able to hold himself up

"Oh god, why...." he muttered to himself. Zander hated feeling sick. He occasionally enjoyed getting up and doing stuff. Bit whenever he was sick, he was most definitely bedridden or couchridden for the whole day. He especially hated it because he knew it meant he couldn't hang out with Luke

At that moment, the door opened. Hailey walked in

"Oh, good, you're awa-" she started to say before cutting herself short

"Zander, you look like hell!" Hailey said taking another step into the room. "Yeah? I just got back." Zander mocked in response. "I'm gonna get the thermometer" Hailey said as she went and felt Zander's forehead. Zander nodded before falling back onto his bed. "Can I call Luke to come over...?" he asked before coughing a bit. Hailey nodded, and then left to the bathroom. While she was there, Zander weakly reached over to his bedside table and unplugged his phone. Once it was in his hands, he began to text Luke

Zander💜: Luke, are you awake?

Luke🧡: Yeah, morning bby😚 how are you doing?

Zander💜: I'm sick🤒🤧

Luke🧡: What?! 😱

Zander💜: Yeah..can you come over pls..?🙏🥺

Luke didn't say anything else after that. Zander looked down sad, placing his phone on his stomach. Hailey walked in and stuck the thermometer right in his mouth

"HEY-" he started to say, but was cut short by the shoved in thermometer. Zander folded his arms looking really annoyed. "You want me to go call Luke while we wait for that to be done?" Zander's expression went from annoyed to upset. "Don't bother...I don't think he wants to talk about it..."

"Huh? What makes you say that?" Hailey questioned. Zander turned his phone messages back on and showed his sister the texts. "I'm sure his phone just died" Hailey said after taking the time to read the texts. "Or maybe he got called to something and forgot to save bye. Or didn't have the to say bye. There's a lot of possible reasons, don't worry...he loves you, Zander..."

Zander nodded before putting his phone back down. Hailey pulled out the thermometer and looked at at. "Fever..." she sighed with a worried expression. Zander curled up slightly

"I'm gonna go get myself some breakfast..." Hailey said "holler if you need anything..."

Zander nodded, and Hailey left the room. His head started to feel heavy and he began to slowly close his eyes

About 45 minutes later, the doorbell rang downstairs making Zander wake up. He felt slightly worse than he did earlier. Hailey opened the door downstairs, only to see Luke standing there with a basket full of stuff

"Where is he...?!" the brunette said in a panicked voice. "Upstairs in his room" Hailey smiled, letting Luke in. "You're really sweet to do all this Luke"

Luke smiled back, placing his shoes by the door. He then quickly speed walked upstairs, careful as to not drop the basket. He got to Zander's door and knocked on it, making the other boy inside flinch a little from the noise, as it made his head pound a slight bit
