I've been wanting to write a Monkey King oneshot, but I've been unsure what to write. So I decided to write a oneshot that is an isekai story. It's a trope I haven't really ever written before so it's a bit messy, but that's okay. I hope you all enjoy. Also just a disclaimer(?) they aren't legos in this oneshot, but it's still based off of the LMK series.

— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —

I used to wonder what it would be like to go to the worlds of my favorite shows, movies, and books. However, I never once believed I could actually end up in those worlds. It's not possible, at least that was what I would've said about a week ago when I was in my own world. As much as I dreamed of being here, in the world of the Monkie Kid, I never once was like "Hey, wouldn't it be cool if I could just pop into there and just, I don't know, change everything that's happened in the show.". Yet that's apparently what happened to me. Well I wouldn't say I changed everything that happens, but I've definitely influenced it in some way by being here. Though I haven't actually met the main characters of the show. I may have seen MK in action, whether that be from fighting enemies or just delivering orders to people, but I haven't ever talked to him or any of the others. That was until today.

Today I was out looking for a job, since waking up in an apartment that you've never seen before but looks to have recently been rented out to whoever is staying there which would be you, I need to make some money to afford my new place. I was trying to find the least sketchiest yet decent paying job that I could without having any sort of resume whatsoever because I shouldn't even exist here. Of course finding a job like that is just as difficult as it sounds. However, I did manage to find one place. That place being Pigsy's Noodles. Apparently, yet not surprisingly, Pigsy needed more help at his noodle shop with MK being quite busy with training and being the "Monkie Kid". I was so tempted to just not apply for the job, being a delivery driver and busgirl, but I really need the job. Sure, I wanted to meet MK and his friends, especially the Monkey King, but I knew that I'd just get attached and that wouldn't end well for anyone if I suddenly disappeared one day. I couldn't handle that kind of heartbreak, even with them being all fictional characters. So I decided, against my better judgment, to apply for the job. Much to my surprise I got the job. Pigsy's exact words were, "Can you start today?", and that's how I ended up with the job.

So here I am, working at Pigsy's Noodles. Despite how chaotic it tends to seem in the shop in the show it was pretty tame. Of course MK was off training with Monkey King, which was not a surprise. I did my best to stay to myself the whole time I worked, but when Mei came in looking for her best friend I really struggled since she really didn't know how to respect someone's personal space. It's not that I didn't enjoy her presence, but she is a bit overwhelming. Especially when I'm trying to avoid getting close to her or any of the others. Though she did back off when some other customers came into the noodle shop. It honestly was so much different from how I expected working at a restaurant would be like, but this isn't home. This isn't my world, things are different here. If I hadn't come from a different world I would've loved to open up to Mei, become her friend and eventually friends with the others. However, that isn't the case. I'm just a stranger in a strange land that is hoping to go home without affecting the world around me.

My thoughts were interrupted by my name being called out by Pigsy. I looked at him as I stopped wiping a table with a clean washrag. "I know this is only your first day, but I need you to take this order and deliver it to this address since MK isn't back yet from his training." I was really hesitant to do the delivery, but I could just use the GPS on the phone, my phone that apparently was able to travel with me to this new world, to find the location and I'd be using the tuk-tuk that MK usually uses for deliveries. "Okay." I placed down the rag and walked over to the order that luckily had the address written on it, courtesy of Pigsy. I grabbed it, along with the keys to the tuk-tuk, and made my way outside.

The drive to the location honestly felt longer than it actually was, mostly because I had no clue where I was going. Though where I was to deliver the surprisingly big order of noodles looked quite abandoned by people. I saw a ton of monkeys, but from what the place was called, Monkey Village, it was no surprise that it's a village full of monkeys. It took me a second to actually realize where I was. "Monkey King's shame temple." I mumbled to myself as I parked the tuk-tuk. The place was featured in one episode where MK had to learn about focusing. Which clued me in on who I was delivering noodles too. Though when I actually thought about it, shouldn't the monkey be on Fruit Flower Mountain training MK? Of course my question was answered as soon as I spotted MK with his teacher. They were talking about something, but I didn't really bother paying much attention to their conversation.

"Pigsy's Noodles." I say as I approach the two men. Whatever they were previously discussing comes to a halt as they both look right at me. The looks on their faces told me enough, even though the monkey demon was trying to hide his suspicion with a look of surprise. Honestly, I understand I'm someone new and I am doing MK's job. However the look on the elder male's face quickly changed, a smirk gracing his lips as he leaned towards me while his eyes not so subtly checked me out. "Bud, you didn't tell me you had such a cute coworker." As obvious as it is that Monkey King is flirting with me, I ignored his words while shoving the order into his face. This caused the simian to lean back, nearly getting hit by the food, and MK to just watch in utter confusion. I look at my new coworker, pretty much acting like Monkey King isn't standing right in front of me. "I'm guessing you'll be the one paying since I highly doubt your monkey friend has any real money." My words seem to snap MK out of his confusion given the way he shook his head before nodding to confirm my words followed by a "yeah". I nod in response while Monkey King just pouts as he takes the bag filled with their order from me.

"Here you go... um.." The brunette says while handing me money for the order. I tell him my name, knowing that's what he was searching for, while I take the money for the order. "Thanks. Enjoy your meal." I say as I give them both a little nod before turning around to leave. A sigh escapes my lips as I see a bunch of small monkeys around the tuk-tuk, treating the vehicle as a climbing toy. I walk over to the monkey covered tuk-tuk and try to figure out how to get the monkeys to leave so I could leave without just shouting at them to scram. "Hey, I really need to use that to go. Could you all go play on something else? Please?" The small monkeys looked at me as I spoke, but instantly went back to what they were doing. Once again I sigh as I shake my head. "Alright little ones, she asked nicely. Go play somewhere else." As if like magic, the small monkeys left the tuk-tuk after Monkey King told them to. Though I expected as much. "Thanks for that." I say without even looking back at the bigger monkey, if I did I'd probably find a smirk on his face like before. Gods, his smirk is just- no, I can't think like that. Thoughts like that will only just make things even more difficult. I have to stick to my plan. Even though I'd love to just give in and truly be a part of this world.

I lightly shook my head of my thoughts and got on the tuk-tuk, taking it back to the noodle shop. The rest of the day went rather uneventful, which I appreciated. MK came to the noodle shop after having his meal with his teacher. The brunette tried his hardest to ask me questions while we worked, especially when there weren't any customers in the shop, but I would avoid them or give vague answers. He really made it difficult to stick to the plan I set. As it came close to closing time the Monkey King's successor pushed a little too hard with getting a question answered, causing me to shout at him. "I DON'T WANT TO BE YOUR FRIEND SO STOP ASKING ME QUESTIONS!" I didn't truly mean it, but I just can't let him or anyone else get close to me. It hurt my heart when I saw the disheartened expression that consumed his face. "Oh... Okay. I get it. I'm sorry for bugging you then." I wanted to say something I really did, but I couldn't take it back. Instead I just finished up my shift, clocked out, and left. I had to fight back the tears that started to form. He really didn't deserve such a reaction, but what is done is done.

Over the next couple of months I did the same thing as I always did. I distanced myself from everyone around me, I avoided any conflict I could. It honestly sucked, but what could I do? This isn't my world, but with every passing day it felt like I was never going home. Maybe this is my home now, maybe I'll never return to the world I used to belong to. "Maybe I'm stuck here." I mumble to myself, pulling my jacket a little closer to my body as the cool breeze of the autumn afternoon went by. It's late autumn and I'm sitting in a park that isn't far from the apartment building I live in. "Maybe I should just give up on my stupid plan."

"What stupid plan?" I jump at the sound of the familiar voice. I look up at the tree branch above me to see the one and only Sun Wukong, aka the Monkey King. "That's none of your damn business." I didn't mean for that to come out so rudely, but I didn't really enjoy the fact that he had just eavesdropped on my conversation with myself. "Now, now, princess. No need to get all snippy. I was just asking a simple question." I sigh as I look away from the simian, watching the few people in the park have fun. "Either way it's none of your business. Nothing about me is any of your business." A soft hum comes from above before I'm lifted into the tree. A small surprised squeak escapes me. I look at Wukong as I'm placed on the branch with him. "Why did-" A finger is placed to my lips to stop me from talking. I slightly glare at him, waiting for him to remove his finger. "I'm going to ask you one more time, princess, and I expect an answer. What stupid plan?" I look away from him as he removes his finger. I'm grateful he doesn't make me look at him. Though I'm sure he doesn't need me to be looking at him to know if I'm being truthful or not. "Avoid everyone as much as possible to keep from hurting them when I eventually disappear from this world."

"Are you sick or something? I could-" I look at Wukong while cutting him off. "No you silly monkey." He tilts his head in confusion as he stares at me. It's obvious he doesn't understand. I close my eyes, leaning my head back against the tree, while I try to keep the urge to cry at bay. "I'm not from here. This isn't my world." My voice barely above a whisper, but I know he heard me. There was just silence between us. It was suffocating, at least it was for me. I felt my body slowly being moved forward until I hit what I could assume as Wukong's chest. I open my eyes to confirm my guess to find that I'm right, but he's also staring down at me with the most heartbroken gaze. This confuses me. Sure, we've encountered each other a few times, mostly him coming to visit me at my place or here at the park whenever he isn't busy with training MK, but I've always tried just pushing him away or just avoiding thim. Of course that never really works well since he's rather persistent.

"Wukong-" I didn't get to even really ask my question as the simian rested his forehead against mine, effectively cutting off any words that would've said. I tried to say something, but I couldn't find the words. That's when tears started to spill from my eyes. They started off slow before it all just came tumbling out, not just tears but everything I've just kept inside from everyone around me. "I'm not from this world. I tried so hard to not get close to you or the others because I knew that if I were to ever return back to my world we'd all just be heartbroken. I couldn't put any of you through that. Especially not you. Gods, I wanted to keep from getting close to you because of how much I wanted to be with you. I just- I couldn't- I-" My words came out all messily, difficult to hear through the sobs. Yet he could understand every word as I eventually couldn't speak anymore, my crying taking over any form of coherent speaking. Wukong removed his forehead from mine as he started wiping away my tears. "Pushing away people because you think it'll save them from heartbreak only makes your own heart break from the pain of never knowing what could've been. Even if we'll never meet again it's better to have done what you wanted to know that you've positively affected someone's life."

My tears didn't stop after his words, only making more escape me as he tried wiping them away. I tore my head from his grasp before burying it into the crook of his neck, allowing the tears to just flow until they couldn't. I felt Wukong wrap his arms around me and held me close to his chest, his tail wrapping around my waist. Eventually the tears came to an end, but neither of us dared to move. Not until I removed my head from its place to stare at the monkey that held me with puffy red eyes. His cheek gently rubbed against mine. "Wukong..." I started, but I just couldn't find the next words to say. "It's okay princess. It's okay."

— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —

A few weeks have passed since my admittance to Wukong. Said monkey has been helping me amend the relationships with the others, which has been surprisingly going well. It felt nice actually being able to just be myself around everyone else. It was so easy for me to forget that I'm not even from this world, but I never did. There were days when I missed everyone I cared for from my world. However, Wukong is always there to comfort me. Which is something I've grown to greatly appreciate. I'm definitely going to miss him whenever I leave this world. Especially since I know I'm falling in love with him. Though to be honest I've always loved him. He makes all my worries disappear, he brings a smile to my face, he makes me feel safe... He's everything I want in someone and plus some.

"Princess~ You're zoning out again." I snap out of my thoughts as I turn my head towards Wukong. "Huh? Oh, sorry. I just got lost in my thoughts." He nods before a smirk appears on his lips. "Were your thoughts on how handsome I am?" My cheeks slightly heated up from his flirty question while I rolled my eyes. "You wish." This gets a pout from the monkey king as he rests his head on my shoulder. "You're no fun princess." A soft snort escapes from me. "Yet you still spend almost all of your time with me." He removes his head from my shoulder as a smirk returns to his face. "Why wouldn't I spend time with someone as beautiful as you?" I lightly push him away from me as my cheeks get warmer. "Shut up you mischievous monkey." He snickers before pulling me closer to him, turning my body to face him while we rest on the couch in my apartment. Luckily he wasn't wearing his battle armor, which is really uncomfortable to lean against.

"Wukong-" My sentence died down in my throat as a loud boom was heard outside before the apartment building shook. The power went out completely as I noticed things starting to roll and slide towards one side of the apartment. Before I know it I'm outside of the building still in Wukong's arms and on his nimbus cloud. I look back at my apartment building as it's going down, which is honestly unsettling to watch. That's when another boom was heard. Wukong's grasp on me tightened as a gust of wind hit us yet we didn't move from our spot. I got a glimpse of what was causing the chaos, but it wasn't enough to tell who it was, before we zoomed away from the scene.

"Why did-" Wukong cut me off when we got far enough away from the fight scene. "You could've gotten hurt. I had to get you away before anything could hurt you." I could hear the fear that was hidden by the tone he spoke in. "Okay, but you should go back to deal with whatever that was." He shook his head as his grip on me loosened before he placed me down on the ground, his cloud disappearing as he stood beside me. "I'm not-" I moved out of his grasp and flicked him on the nose. "I will be fine. Go help those that need it. I know MK is your successor, but he'll probably need your help." The simian sighs softly then summons his nimbus cloud once again. "You better stay here until I come back for you." I nod and smile at him. "Don't worry about me Wukong, go help MK." He reluctantly gets onto his nimbus cloud before leaving me where I am.

I did as Wukong asked, staying where I am, which happened to be the park that isn't far from my apartment building but far enough to not be in the crossfire. I look in the direction where all the action is and watch as both Wukong and MK fight against a demon that isn't familiar to me. At least not from this distance. That's when I hear a voice talking to me, which fills me with dread. "You aren't from around here. Yet you've grown rather close with Sun Wukong." I look around for the source, but I see nothing, only hints of a blue mist. "Lady Bone Demon..." I mumble to myself. "Oh, so you know who I am? Then getting rid of you to fulfill my destiny will be even sweeter." My eyes widen as I turn around to face the direction I heard the voice coming from.

A scream escaped my lips as something pierced my body. A maniacal laugh followed afterwards before fading away. My body landed on the ground as tears filled my eyes, everything started to blur. I blinked a couple of times to rid my eyes of the tears while I tried finding my voice. "W-Wukong, please..." I could barely muster a whisper while my body started growing cold. I tried to move my body to put pressure on my wound, but everything felt heavy. Tears slipped down my cheeks as I kept trying. It couldn't end like this, I couldn't let this be the end.

I heard my name being yelled out before I felt a warm presence beside me and something applying pressure to the injury I had suffered. "Princess please, please look at me." I slowly move my head as I look at the source of the voice, knowing exactly who it is. I blink a few times to hopefully clear my vision as a small smile found its way onto my face. "Wukong.. I-" He cut me off while he carefully picked up my body. "Everything's going to be fine princess, I'm going to save you. I won't let you-" This time I cut him off by slowly placing a hand on his cheek. "It's okay Wukong. I'm not... I'm sorry that it has to be this way." I managed to get out, but this only brought tears to his eyes. "No! I'm not- I can't lose you!" I gently wiped away some of his tears. "I know, but I'll always be with you Wukong." My hand slips down from his cheek to his chest, right above his heart. "Right in here." He shook his head as his breathing started to get uneven while his body lightly shook. I could tell he's struggling with this, especially knowing I'm fading away in his arms. "I love you Sun Wukong." My eyes slid close as everything fades away.

— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —

Such a sad ending I know. However, I do have a part two in the works so this won't be the end. I actually had the idea of making this into a story on its own, but I don't think I have the current brain power to do so. I was lucky to be able to get this out. Though I'd like to thank my friend from Discord for really fueling my love for LMK and Sun Wukong (Monkey King) because we rp it a lot lol. I won't go into details on that, but yeah. It's really kept my love for the mischievous monkey alive. Does this mean I'm a furry? probably. Do I care? Nope. I've just accepted that I'm attracted to an anthropomorphic monkey man. I've stopped questioning my attractions to things years ago. Anyways, hope y'all enjoyed this and I'll be posting part 2 when it's done. Have a wonderful life and stay fluffy!!
