TW: mentions of rape & forced sex

"Really? Anna? I don't believe it." Dean says.

"It's true." Cas says as he draws a symbol on a table.

"So, she's gone all Glenn Close, huh? That's awesome." Dean says.

"Who's Glenn Close?" Cas asks.

"No one, just this psycho bitch who likes to boil rabbits." Dean says.

"So the plan to kill me, would it actually stop Satan?" Sam asks.

"No, Sam, come on." Dean says.

"Sam..." Larissa quietly says.

"Cas, what do you think? Does Anna have a point?" Sam asks.

"No. She's, uh, Glenn Close." Cas answers.

"I don't get it. We're looking for the chick that wants to gank Sam." Dean says. "Why poke the bear?"

"Anna will keep trying. She won't give up until Sam is dead. So we kill her first." Cas says.

"I'm cool with that." Larissa says.

Cas chants something and the bowl gains a red flame for a few moments. Cas leans against a chair, breathing heavily.

"Dude, you good?" Larissa asks.

"I've found her." Cas states.

"Where is she?" Dean asks.

"Not where. When." Cas says. "In 1978."

"What? Why 1978? I wasn't even born yet." Sam says.

"You won't be if she kills your parents." Cas says.

"What?" Sam asks.

"Anna can't get to you because of me. So she's going after them." Cas says.

"Take us back right now." Dean orders.

"And deliver you right to Anna? I should go alone." Cas says.

"They're our parents. Cas, we're going." Dean states.

"It's not that easy." Cas says.

"Why not?" Sam asks.

"Time travel was difficult even with the powers of Heaven at my disposal." Cas says.

"Which got cut off." Sam says.

"So, what, you're like a Delorean without enough plutonium?" Dean asks.

"I don't understand that reference, but I'm telling you, taking this trip, with passengers no less, it'll weaken me." Cas says.

"They're our mom and dad. If we can save them, and not just from Anna... I mean, if we can set things right, we have to try." Dean says.

~ ~ ~

"Okay, uh... we think it's best if you stay here." Sam tells Larissa as the two stand in the corner of the room while Dean and Cas are packing.

"Of course you do. I'm sorry, do I suddenly look 5 years old to everybody or something? I can handle myself." Larissa states.

"I know, I know. But Cas is gonna be weak enough getting me and Dean back. And besides you still haven't... haven't been in the best mindset yet, you know?"

"I'm aware of how the grieving process works, Samuel." Larissa comments.

"Please. Just this one more time." Sam says, his puppy dog eyes shining with a pleading look.

"This is the last fucking time." Larissa states.

"Agreed. You're a grown woman, you can go wherever you want... except 1978." Sam says.

"God, you and your stupid eyes. Stop looking like that." Larissa grumbles, walking away and plopping down on one of the beds.

"Ready?" Cas asks.

Sam looks at Larissa and she motions for him to go.

"Not really." Sam answers, walking over to Dean and Cas.

"Bend your knees." Dean warns Sam who does so. Cas puts his hands on their foreheads and the three are gone.

"Well, this is fucking boring." Larissa mumbles.

+++

Larissa is still in the motel, an empty box of pizza on the table along with a couple empty bottles of beer. She's mindlessly flipping through the channels, jumping at the sound of a groan. She sits up, seeing Sam on the floor.

"Sam?" She rushes over. "Hey. Hey, are you okay?"

"Yeah. Yeah, I'm-I'm good." Sam says, feeling his stomach. "Well, now, anyway."

"Now? What do you mean by now?" Larissa asks.

"Uh... kind of got stabbed with a pipe and-and died." Sam informs.

"What?!" Larissa shrieks.

"But I'm alive now, so... yay." Sam waves his hands around in the air.

Their reunion is cut short as Dean pops in.

"What's up?" Dean nods to the woman.

"He died?" She asks, pointing to Sam.

"Uh... yeah. But, hey, he's alive, so... yahoo!" Dean fist bumps the air.

"Wha..." Larissa looks between them like they're insane. "I am never being benched again." She points her finger in Sam's face.

"Yes, ma'am." Sam mumbles, leaning away from her finger.

"Idiots." Larissa grumbles.

+++

"Castiel." Sam notices him appear in the room. Cas starts to fall, but Sam gets there first, holding him up. "Hey, hey, hey. Whoa, whoa, whoa."

"Cas!" Dean rushes over, helping Sam keep him up.

"We got you." Sam assures.

"You son of a bitch. You made it." Dean says.

"I... I did? I'm very surprised." Cas says before collapsing.

"Whoa! You're okay."

"Bed?" Dean asks.

"Yeah, yeah." The two get Cas to the closer bed and lay him down on it.

"Well, I could use that drink now." Dean says.

"Yeah." Sam agrees as Dean pours them drinks.

"Well... this is it."

"This is what?"

"Team Free Will. One ex-blood junkie, one dropout with six bucks to his name, one scary badass chick, and Mr. Comatose over there. It's awesome."

"I'm not scary." Larissa argues.

"You threaten to shoot me in the dick, like, once a week." Dean says.

"Well... maybe there's an attitude problem you should fix." Larissa mumbles, taking a sip of her drink.

"I'm gonna--" Dean growls, charging at her, but Sam pushes him back.

"Hey, hey. No." Sam scolds his brother. "No fighting." He demands. "And it's not funny."

"I'm not laughing." Dean says.

"They all say we'll say yes." Sam says.

"I know. It's getting annoying."

"What if they're right?"

"They're not."

"I mean, why-why would we, either of us? But... I've been weak before."

"Sam--"

"Michael got dad to say yes."

"That was different. Anna was about to kill mom."

"And if you could save mom... what would you say?"

+++

Dean and Larissa are in the motel room and Sam gets back, bag of food and two drinks in hand.

"How'd it go?" Dean asks.

"Um, no EMF, no sulfur. Ghost possession and demonic possession are both probably out." Sam says.

"That's where I was puttin' my money." Dean mutters.

"Nope." Sam says, giving Larissa her drink.

"Well, what then? Oh, dude! At the coroner's -- you didn't see these bodies." Dean says. "I mean, these two started eating and they just... kept going. I mean, their stomachs were full. Like Thanksgiving dinner full. Talk about co-dependent."

"Well... I mean, we got our feelers out. Not much more we can do tonight." Sam says. He sits down, putting the bag of food down and Larissa starts to go through it, getting her meal out and gets Sam's food out, mostly since it was on top of hers.

"All right. I'm just gonna go through some files. You can go ahead and get going." Sam says.

"Sorry?" Dean asks.

"Go ahead. Unleash the kraken. See you tomorrow morning." Sam says.

"Where am I going?" Dean asks.

"Dean, it's Valentine's Day. Your favorite holiday, remember? I mean, what do you always call it... uh, unattached drifter Christmas?"

"Classy." Larissa quips, taking a sip of her drink.

"Oh, yeah. Well, be that as it may... I don't know. Guess I'm not feeling it this year." Dean says, getting a beer out of the cooler.

"So you're not into bars full of lonely women?" Sam asks.

"Nah, I guess not." Dean says and notices Sam's look. "What?"

"That's when a dog doesn't it... that's when you know something's really wrong." Sam says.

"Remarkably patronizing concern duly notes. Nothing's wrong. We gonna work or what?" Dean asks.

"You can, I'm eating." Larissa says, putting a fry in her mouth.

+++

Larissa opted out of going to the morgue, knowing that she'd probably puke if she had to look at human organs for too long. And after seeing the bodies, she really wasn't up to study their insides.

She's now at a restaurant with Sam, Dean, and Cas, the three having caught her up on everything. The waitress brings them their food before walking off.

"So, what, you just happen to know he likes the cosmos at this place?" Dean asks Cas.

"This place is a nexus of human reproduction. It's exactly the kind of garden the Cupid will come to-to pollinate." Cas says.

Dean picks his burger up, but before he takes a bite, he puts it back down. Larissa watches him with a confused expression as she eats her pasta.

"Wait a minute. You're not hungry?" Sam asks.

"No." Dean says. "What? I'm not hungry."

"Then you're not gonna finish that?" Cas takes the plate from Dean.

"Why are you eye fucking Sam?" Dean whispers to Larissa, tearing her gaze away from the younger Winchester.

"Hmm? What? No, I'm not." She denies.

"Yes, you are." Dean nods.

"He's here." Cas states.

"Where? I don't see anything." Sam says.

"There." Cas nods to a couple that starts making out.

"You mean the same side of the booth couple over there?" Dean asks.

"Meet me in the back." Cas says. The three go to look at him, but find him gone.

They get to the back room and Cas is there, holding his hand out.

"Cas, where is he?" Sam asks.

"I have him tethered." Cas informs. He says something in a different language. "Manifest yourself." The four look around as nothing happens.

"So, where is he?" Dean asks. Suddenly, he's picked up off the floor from behind.

"Here I am!" They hear and turn to see Cupid hugging Dean from behind.

"Oh, my God." Larissa covers her eyes, realizing the Cupid is naked. "Oh, God." She mutters.

"Help!" Dean calls out to the other three.

"Oh, help is on the way. Yes, it is. Yes, it is." Cupid says. "Hello, you!" He puts Dean down and picks Cas up, hugging him.

"This is Cupid?" Dean asks.

"Yes." Cas nods.

"And look at you, huh?" Cupid turns to Sam.

"No." Sam goes to leave, but Cupid appears in front of him, hugging him.

"Yes! Yes, yes, yes!"

"This is their handshake." Cas informs.

"I don't like it." Dean says.

"No one likes it." Cas says.

"And you!" Cupid turns to Larissa.

"No. No, no, no." She whines as he hugs her. She grimaces, keeping her face turned away from him. He breaks away after a few moments, Larissa frozen.

"Lissy?" Sam gently calls.

"Oh, God. That-- that's gotta be harassment or something, no?" She quietly asks.

"What can I do for you?" Cupid asks them.

"Why are you doing this?" Cas asks.

"Doing what?" Cupid asks.

"Your targets -- the ones you've marked -- they're slaughtering each other." Cas says.

"What? They are?" Cupid asks.

"Listen, birthday suit, we know, okay? We know you been flittin' around, popping people with your poison arrow, making them murder each other!" Dean states.

"What we don't know is why." Cas says.

"You think that I-- well, uh... I don't know what to say." Cupid starts crying and stands with his back to them.

"Should... should somebody maybe... go talk to him?" Sam quietly asks.

"Yeah, that's a good idea." Dean says.

"Not it." Larissa quickly says.

"Not it." Dean copies.

"Not it." Sam adds.

"Give 'em hell, Cas." Dean says.

Cas reluctantly walks over to Cupid.

"Um... look." He looks back at the three hunters who give him supportive signals. "We didn't mean to, um... hurt your feelings." Cupid turns and hugs Cas.

"Love is more than a word to me, you know? I love love. I love it! And if that's wrong, then I don't want to be right!" Cupid exclaims.

"Yes, yes. Of course. I, uh... I have no idea what you're saying." Cas says.

"I was just on my appointed rounds. Whatever my targets do after that that's nothing to do with me. I-I was following my orders. Please, brother. Read my mind. Read my mind, you'll see." Cupid tells Cas. Cas stares at him as he reads his mind.

"He's telling the truth." Cas says.

"Jiminy Christmas. Thank you." Cupid says.

"Wait, wait, you said-- you said you were just following orders?" Dean asks.

"Mm-hmm." Cupid nods.

"Whose orders?" Dean asks.

"Whose?" Cupid laughs. "Heaven, silly. Heaven."

"Why does Heaven care if Harry meets Sally?" Dean asks.

"Oh, mostly they don't. You know, certain bloodlines, certain destinies. Oh, like yours." Cupid says.

"What?" Sam asks.

"Yeah, the union of John and Mary Winchester. Very big deal upstairs, top priority arrangement." Cupid says.

"Are you saying that you fixed up our parents?" Dean asks.

"Well, not me, but... yeah. Well, it wasn't easy, either. Ooh, they couldn't stand each other at first. But when we were done with them -- perfect couple." Cupid says.

"Perfect?" Dean asks.

"Yeah." Cupid nods.

"They're dead!" Dean yells.

"I'm sorry, but... the orders were very clear. You and Sam needed to be born. Your parents were just, uh... meant to be. A match made in Heaven." Cupid says.

"SOn of a bitch!" Dean punches him and then Cupid disappears. "Where is he? Where'd he go?"

"I believe you upset him." Cas says.

"Upset him?!" Dean exclaims.

"Well, if you punched me, I would disappear, too. After shooting you, of course, but..." Larissa shrugs.

"Dean. Enough!" Sam yells.

"What?" Dean asks.

"You just punched a Cupid!"

"I punched a dick!"

"Um... are we gonna talk about what's been up with you lately or not?"

"Not." Dean states, storming out.

+++

"What the hell does a demon got to do with this, anyway?" Dean asks.

"Believe me, I got no idea." Sam says.

"You okay?" Dean asks.

"Yeah, yeah. I'll be all right." Sam says.

"Let's crack her open. What's the worst that could happen, right?" Dean asks. They open the briefcase that Sam got from the demon and a bright light shines out of it and they shut it.

"What the hell was that?" Dean asks.

"It's a human soul." They turn to see Cas with a bag from a burger place. "It's starting to make sense."

"Now, what about that makes sense?" Sam asks.

"And when did you start eating?" Dean asks.

"Exactly. My hunger -- it's a clue, actually." Cas says.

"For what?" The brothers ask.

"This town is not suffering from some love gone wrong effect. It's suffering from hunger. Starvation, to be exact -- specifically... famine." Cas says.

"Famine? As-As in the horseman?" Sam asks.

"Great. Th-th-that's fucking great." Dean says sarcastically.

"I thought famine meant starvation, like, as in, you know, food." Sam says.

"Yes. Absolutely. But not just food. I mean, everyone seems to be starving for something. Sex, attention, drugs, love..." Cas lists.

"Well, that explains the puppy lovers that Cupid shot up. And why Larissa started eye fucking Sam 24/7." Dean says.

"I have not been doing that!" She protests.

"Yes, you have. And it's disgusting, by the way." Dean says.

"I haven't--"

"You're telling me that you're not ready to pounce on him and take him to town, just to then end up eating him like these other couples?" Dean asks.

"I mean, I don't see the last part happening." Larissa mumbles. Dean raises his eyebrows at her lack of denying that she would have sex with Sam. "But I don't-- I don't have sex. I don't... I haven't had sex since I was 19."

"Wow. Really? Damn, no wonder you always threaten to shoot everybody's dicks." Dean mumbles and Larissa glares at him.

"I have a reason." Larissa says.

"Which is? I mean, you're too hot to have not been getting laid all these years." Dean says.

"Dean." Sam rolls his eyes.

"What?" Dean asks.

"It's a reason I don't wanna talk about, okay?" Larissa says.

"The cherub made them crave love, and then Famine came, and made them rabid for it." Cas says.

"Okay, but what about you? I mean, since when do angels secretly hanger for White Castle?" Dean asks.

"It's my vessel -- Jimmy. His, uh, appetite for red meat has been touched by Famine's effect." Cas says.

"So, Famine just rolls into town and everybody goes crazy?" Dean asks.

""And then will come Famine riding on a black stead. He will ride into the land of plenty and great will be the Horseman's hunger, for he is hunger. His hunger will seep out and poison the air."" Cas quotes.

"Famine is hungry. He must devour the souls of his victims." Cas states.

"So, that's what was in the briefcase? The twinkie dude's soul?" Dean asks.

"Lucifer has sent his demons to care for Famine, to feed him, make certain he's ready." Cas says.

"Ready for what?" Sam asks.

"To march across the land." Cas says.

"Famine?" Dean asks.

"Yes." Cas answers through a burger.

"So, what, this whole town is just gonna eat, drink, and screw itself to death?" Sam asks.

"We should stop it." Cas says.

"Yeah, that's a great idea. How?" Dean asks.

"How did you stop the last horseman you met?" Cas asks.

"War got his mojo from this ring. And after we cut it off, he just tucked tail and ran, and everybody that was affected, it was like they woke up out of a dream. You think Famine's got a class ring, too?" Dean asks.

"I know he does." Cas says.

"Well, okay. Let's track him down and get to chopping." Dean says.

"Yeah." Cas nods.

"What are you, the Hamburglar?" Dean asks.

"I've developed a taste for ground beef." Cas says.

"Well, have you even tried to stop it?" Dean asks.

"I'm an angel. I can stop anytime I want."

"Whatever. Sam, let's roll." Dean says.

"Dean... I, um... I can't. I can't go." Sam says.

"What do you mean?" Dean asks.

"I think it got to me, Dean. I think I'm hungry for it." Sam says.

"Hungry for what?"

"You know."

"Demon blood?" Dean asks and Sam lowers his head. "You got to be kidding me." He turns to Cas. "You got to get him out of here. You got to beam him to, like, Montana. Anywhere but here."

"It won't work. He's already infected. The hunger is just gonna travel with him." Cas says.

"Well, then, what do we do?" Dean asks.

"You go cut that bastard's finger off." Sam says.

"You heard him." Dean says after a moment.

"But, Dean... before you go, you better... you better lock me down -- but good." Sam says.

~ ~ ~

Dean cuffed Sam to the sink pipe in the bathroom.

"All right, well, just hang in there. We'll be back as soon as we can." Dean says.

"Be careful. And... hurry." Sam says.

The three leave the bathroom and Cas blocks the shut door with a dresser.

"Look, can you just... can you stay and keep an eye on him?" Larissa asks.

"I mean... not physically." Larissa says, motioning to the dresser blocking the door. Dean gives her a bitch face. "But, yes."

"No trying to have sex with him." Dean says before leaving with Cas.

"I really want to." Larissa quietly whines. She huffs, standing next to the dresser. "Sammy?" She calls through the wood.

"Lissy? What-- why are you still here?" Sam asks.

"Moral support. Babysitting skills, I don't know." Larissa says. "But you aren't alone. Though, you do have to be physically alone, cause if I were to move this dresser and open the door, believe me, I-I would pounce on you."

~ ~ ~

Larissa talked to Sam at first, but he asked for silence, so she hasn't said a word since, battling her own urges.

Larissa hears something, but doesn't a chance to turn around before she's knocked out, her body falling to the floor.

"Lissy? Guys?" Sam calls. "Guys, what happened? I don't think it worked. I think I'm still-still hungry." His voice grows quiet as two demons open the door.

"Look at this. Someone trussed you up for us. Boss says we can't kill you... but I bet we can break off a few pieces." The female demon says with a smirk.

Sam glances past them and sees Larissa on the floor.

The male demon breaks Sam's handcuffs and Sam knocks him away, the demon crashing into the tub. Sam tackles the female demon, the two crashing into the glass coffee table that breaks.

Sam picks up a glass shard and stabs her in the neck with it, beginning to drink her blood.

"Get him off! Get him off!" She yells to the male demon. He tries to get Sam off, but he doesn't budge.

The male demon grabs a piece of wood and goes to hit Sam with it, but Sam holds his hand out, sending the demon flying into the wall.

"Wait your turn."

+++

They got the ring from Famine and then they immediately went to Bobby's and put Sam back in the panic room.

He's finally allowed out, over the cravings and back on the wagon. Larissa is sitting outside on the porch and she has a bowl of popcorn in her lap. She looks back as the door opens and sees Sam walk out.

"Hey." He softly greets.

"Hey." She smiles a little.

"Spot taken?" Sam points next to her. She shakes her head, motioning for him to sit down, and he does.

"Popcorn?" She holds the bowl out to him.

"Thanks." Sam takes a few pieces and she puts the bowl back in her lap. "So, uh... we all back to normal?"

"Yep. You're... not craving blood. I'm not a sex addict, Cas has returned to not eating, and Dean has returned to eating." Larissa states.

"Go us." Sam says.

Larissa lightly laughs and the two sit in silence for a few moments until Sam breaks it.

"You really haven't had sex in seven years?" Sam asks.

"Is that an issue?" Larissa asks.

"No. No, of course not. I-- whatever you feel comfortable with, of course." Sam says. "Can I ask why?" Larissa opens her mouth to answer, but freezes. "Sorry. No, you-you don't have to, obviously. It's none of my business."

He holds his hand out to the popcorn questioningly and she nods, him taking a few more pieces, the two staying in silence.

"I had a boyfriend in college." Larissa says after a few minutes. "Um... I went to college with Jo, I went for two years. I'm one year older so, obviously, I was a grade higher. Not that any of that is relevant."

"Though, I did meet the boyfriend in freshman year. And we started dating near the end of summer and were dating by time sophomore year started. And it was good at first... you know, he-he was nice."

"But when it came to sex, I... usually, I was in the mood. You know, we were both... horny teenagers. But... one night, I didn't wanna do it. I was... I was tired from classes and studying and work, and... he didn't care."

"He wanted to have sex, so he... talked me into it, I guess. And that wasn't even the only time. I... I stopped wanting sex more and more, but he always had to have it, and... and he never took no for an answer."

"He pressured you into sex?" Sam gently asks, feeling his heart crush. Larissa sadly smiles at him in confirmation only making Sam feel worse.

"Not even the absolute worst. There were a couple of times where... where we were both drunk. Just... wasted. Or I was, anyway. He was sober sometimes. I'd barely be able to keep my eyes open... or I would be half asleep or... asleep. And he'd still do it."

"But we were dating, so, you know, not rape, right? Can't rape your significant other." Larissa forces out a watery laugh that doesn't hold any humor. "At least that's what he always said. And my idiot self believed him." She mumbles.

Larissa looks down, watching a few tears fall into the popcorn making her wince. She doesn't look at Sam, afraid of whatever emotion could be swimming in his beautiful eyes. She doesn't want to see disappointment or disgust.

Sam blinks his own tears away, clenching his jaw in anger at the person who hurt her. Sam takes a deep breath, knowing she doesn't need anger right now, though.

Sam reaches out and gingerly tucks her hair behind her ear with his middle and ring finger. His hand trails down the behind her ear, taking his hand away before he can reach her shoulder.

"I'm sorry." Sam whispers, staring at her sadly. "You didn't... you don't deserve that. Nobody deserves that. And it's not right, that... that isn't right. Sex is-- sex is supposed to be consented by both sides, not just one. That's... that is rape."

"I know that now. I just... wish I would've broken up with him so much sooner." Larissa sniffles, wiping her tears away with the end of her sleeve.

"You're not an idiot." Sam tells her. "You were forced to do shit, that doesn't make you an idiot. It makes you a victim."

"I should've known better." Larissa says.

"None of it's your fault. It's his fault. He's a dick." Sam says.

"Yeah." Larissa mumbles.

"Anything I can do?" Sam asks.

"Not really." Larissa sadly smiles making Sam's heart crack. "You may not want any more popcorn, though. I kinda cried into it."

"Just added some more salt to an already salty snack." Sam says. Larissa looks at him with a small smile and he attempts one back.

"Ooh, popcorn." Dean walks out, grabbing the bowl off the porch. Larissa quickly faces forward, making sure Dean can't see her face as she tries to wipe her tears away.

"Dean." Sam hisses, hitting his brother in the leg.

"What?" Dean asks, his mouth full of popcorn. He sees Sam's sad look and notices Larissa wiping her tears, hearing her let out a small sniffle. "Oh. Shit. Sorry." He quickly retreats back into the house.

"I'm sorry." Sam tells her.

"It's fine." Larissa mumbles, waving him off.

"Is there really nothing I can do?" Sam asks. "I'll do anything."

"It's fine." Larissa softly shakes her head.

"Is this dude still alive?" Sam asks.

"I don't know." She shrugs. "Why?"

"So I can go kill him. Or shoot him in the dick, at least." Sam says. Larissa slightly smiles at his threats.

"I did shoot him in the dick already... seven years ago." Larissa good.

"Well, he can get shot there again." Sam says.

"Sam... it's not worth a whole search. Hopefully karma kicked in and he got what he deserves." Larissa says.
