Content warning: making out, Robby being a dingus, Johnny being a dingus (like father like son), grinding, removal of clothing - basically angst with a sprinkle of fluff and the bare bones of really boring smut where nothing actually happens 😂

-

"Morning flower." Robby says groggily, pulling Cal on top of him.
"Morning babe." Cal smiles, kissing him.
"I could get used to this."
"Yeah? Which part? The showering together? The sleeping in the same bed? The waking up with me? Hm?"
"All of the above. But next time we shower let's be completely naked yeah? I don't think my boxers are ever going to dry."
Cal giggles, nodding, "All of the above huh? I'll see what I can do." Cal feels Robby's hands under her shirt, rubbing her back in soft circular motions. She can feel her flesh prickle with his touch like small electric shocks are coming from his fingers.

"Remember we have to go back to Miyagi-Do today." Cal reminds him, hearing Robby groan, throwing his head back against the pillows.
"Hey, we're working inside today at least. I think it's going to be shelving, painting, and organizing."
"Organizing, your favorite!"
"Yes! I'm very excited." Cal giggles, putting her chin on his chest.

"When do we need to get there?"
"Uncle Dan said afternoon is fine, but it is already noon."
"I guess that means we have to get up then huh?"
"It unfortunately does. But... I don't have an extra shirt just some Sophie shorts. So you'll have to lend me one for the whole day, get to see me in it... maybe even out of it if you play your cards right."
"Oh I could definitely get used to this." Cal laughs, burying her head in his bare chest.
"Me too." Cal admits, kissing him one last time before sitting up with a groan and stretching her arms.

"It's gonna have to be a turtleneck apparently..." Robby admits softly, brushing the hair from her neck.
"I told you! I told you that you bit too hard!" Cal whines, pushing him away from her.
"I know. I know. I'm sorry flower. I would say it won't happen again but I think we both know it will..."
"Well you get the explain them to my uncle if he asks." Cal says pointedly.
"Just leave your hair down."
"It's way too hot for that. Mr. Miyagi's house has no A/C... I guess that could have changed but I'm not holding out hope."

"Hmmm... they aren't too bad. Just shows how loved you are." Cal giggles.
"Yeah? How loved am I?" She teases, holding her lips just out of his reach.
"Very, very loved." Robby smiles, pulling her down to him by her chin to leave a sweet kiss.

"Guess that means I need to step up my love bite game so you know how loved you are."
"I wouldn't be opposed to that." Robby chuckles, pushing some hair behind her ear.
"Yeah? Still have to get that matching set for you... then you'll really know."
"I already know. The rest are just extras and perks of being your boyfriend." Robby smiles, softly pulling her bottom lip down with his thumb.

"I love you Robby Keene."
"I love you too Calanthe Luna Lane-Guerrero... or I guess it's Guerrero-LaRusso now huh?"
"Not yet, there's still some paperwork left to sign... hey what's your middle name?" A strong blush flows from Robby's neck to his cheeks.
"Come on... you know mine!"
"Yes but Luna is beautiful."
"I'm sure yours is beautiful too."
"Do you swear not to laugh?"
"I will do my very best."
"Fuck... okay fine... it's... Swayze."
"Like Patrick Swayze?"
"Yeah." Robby groans, hiding his face in his elbow.

"Hey," Cal smiles, pulling his arm down and giving him a kiss, "I love you Robert Swayze Keene." Robby smiles, taking the hand he was hiding behind and stroking her cheek. Cal smiles and kisses his palm softly, cradling it against her face after.
"It sounds better when you say it."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah... sounds nicer. Not as weird."
"It's not weird. Your mom must have really liked Patrick Swayze!"
"Yeah, he's her favorite actor."

"I like The Outsiders' movie he was in!"
"What? Not Dirty Dancing?"
"Not my thing. The dance at the end though... now that's cool! We should try that! You're strong!" Cal says excitedly, watching his smile grow.
"What?"
"Nothing, nothing. Just love you, love how excited you get." Now it's Cal's turn to blush, dragging her eyes from his loving gaze.
"That's what makes you blush? You're adorable flower."

"I thought I was beautiful?"
"You are so many things. Adorable, beautiful, entrancing, strong, sultry, sweet, so many things wrapped up in such a small package."
"You haven't heard me sing jazz yet... now that's sultry!"
"You'll have to give me a little concert later. But for now, we should get up so Mr. LaRusso doesn't have a heart attack."
"Good idea." Cal giggles, rolling out of his bed to head to the bathroom to brush her teeth, only to hear Robby groan and grab her wrist, pulling her back.

"What's with the groan?"
"I kinda forgot you're just in my shirt and underwear." He smirks, tugging her so she falls against his body.
"Be careful! That shoulder still isn't ready for anything strenuous." Cal sighs, touching his shoulder softly.
"My shoulder will be fine." Robby assures her, kissing her softly.
"Robby, we need to get to Miyagi-Do." Calli whines, feeling his lips trace her jaw, "You leave any more marks and I will murder you." Robby laughs against her skin, leaving a soft kiss.
"Just admiring my handiwork."
"Admire from afar Casanova."

-

"I want one more good kiss before we have to go back to pecks around Mr. LaRusso." Robby hopes, turning to Cal who is sat in the driver's seat.
"One more! We're already getting a late start!" Cal says pointedly, "Scoot your chair back." Robby reaches down to pull the handle making his chair shoot back.
"Why did I need to do that?" Robby laughs, watching as she unbuckles her seatbelt and hops over the center console to straddle his lap.
"Okay I'm liking where this is going." Robby chuckles, holding her jaw in his hands and pulling her towards his lips.

"I love you, you monumental dork." Cal jests, leaning down and giving him a soft kiss, leaning back before he pulls her forward smashing his lips back onto hers. Cal leans against him, holding the back of his neck with one hand while the other finds purchase in his red and white baseball tee. One of Robby's hands begins to wander down her back, using her hip to push her further into his lap before rubbing her lower back under the shirt she borrowed from him.

Cal pushes his chest so she can disconnect their lips, "Slow down cowboy. We have a dojo to finish and Uncle Dan is already here."
"You're right. Got a bit carried away."
"Me too. It's okay." Cal giggles, giving him one more kiss before opening the passenger door and stepping out. Robby hands her her bag and steps out beside her, grabbing her hand as they go into the dojo.

"Hey Uncle Danny." Cal smiles, watching him look at the broken shelf in his hands.
"Hey." He responds absentmindedly, making Cal giggle. Robby let's go of her hand to pick up a small drum toy in one of the many boxes they had brought in the other day.
"Careful. That drum saved my life."
"Sorry, I didn't mean to touch it." Robby says quickly, leaning down to place it back in the box.
"Nah, it's just a toy. Then again, not everything in Miyagi-Do is always as it seems." Robby smiles before his eyes are drawn to the shadow box leaning against the wall.

"That's Mr. Miyagi's Medal of Honor." Cal explains, holding onto his arm and putting her chin on his shoulder, staring at the shadow box with a forlorn smile.
"The highest honor awarded by the US military." Daniel continues, venturing towards the teens with a content smile.
"I didn't know Mr. Miyagi was a war hero."
"Yes, he was." Daniel sighs.
"Guess it wasn't all bonsais and kata." Robby smiles before turning to his side.

"What are these?" He asks, motioning to the two tapestries hanging on the wall.
"I'm glad you asked." Daniel walks over with Cal in tow, gesturing to the first tapestry.
"First rule of Miyagi-Do Karate: Karate is for defense only." Cal walks to the second tapestry, the boys following her.
"Second rule of Miyagi-Do Karate: First, learn rule number one."
Daniel chortles, nodding, "It's really all about that first rule."
"I guess Mr. Miyagi would make an exception for Cobra Kai. I mean, when my dad finds out what we're up to, he is not gonna know what hit him." Robby smiles, walking away, leaving Daniel and Cal alone, sharing a worried look.

Cal waits until Robby is outside before turning back to her uncle, "We need to get his head out of this revenge fantasy. It's not healthy. He's not doing this for himself - he's doing it to hurt his dad... still!" She whispers.
"What do you know about his life?"
"His mom is an alcoholic who brings random men back home whenever she's actually home. Johnny abandoned them when he was a kid and he had no contact with him for ages. Neither tried to get in contact with the other until Robby got in trouble at school and they couldn't reach his mom so they called his dad. He hates his dad for abandoning him. I can understand that, you can understand that, but he isn't coping Uncle Dan. We have to find a way to make this about peace... not war." Daniel nods, giving the young girl a soft smile.
"We'll figure it out." Cal sighs, a soft nod in acknowledgment before she hugs Daniel tightly.

"Now we have a desperate need for screws for shelving and some more paint. Maybe get some more organization stuff so you can make this place as organized as your room." Daniel chuckles, steering them outside where Robby is brushing the steps again.
"Come on Robby! We're going to the hardware store!"

-

"Mr. LaRusso! It's uh... it's over here!" Robby says, bringing them over to the screws.
"Ah that's a deck screw! I mean we could use it to hang the shelves but the screw will be doing all the work. Eventually it would give out under all this weight." Daniel comments, looking at the box of screws before putting it back, "What we really need is a toggle bolt."
Cal turns to her side, "Got em!" She smiles, showing the boys.
"Yeah. Two of those." Cal grabs another, handing one to Daniel and the other to Robby.

"It's not as big." He chuckles.
"No, it's not. But it's got a little secret. See this spring?" Daniel pulls the two wings down, "Once it goes through the wood, it opens up and uses the whole wall to support the shelf."
"Wait... let me get the lesson here. You're saying that in life, I can't do everything by myself, and I have to rely on other people?" Robby smiles, wrapping his arm around Cal's waist.
"Nah, I was just teaching you about shelving. But if you can get a metaphor out of that, you're a better student than I ever was." They all chuckle, Daniel patting Robby's arm.

"Hey, Metallica man!" Cal turns around at the sudden loud voice, "We got that mirror glass all set for ya. So, just come on up front and pay for it." The sales associate exclaims. Cal's eyes land on Johnny's face as he looks practically ready to murder the guy for being so loud and giving away his hiding spot behind the hoses. Johnny walks out from behind his hiding space, finally alerting Daniel to his presence whose shoulders tense at the sight.

"Johnny." Daniel sighs distastefully, making Cal hit his shoulder. They were trying to make this about peace and the thought still wasn't in his head enough to make it a reality.
"Woah! LaRusso Auto?" The sales associate begins excitedly, "Chopping prices! Pshh! Pshh!" The man chops his hands, laughing, "I love that commercial! I love karate too. I mean, I never got to do it. My mom wouldn't let me, so... Hey, you look just like him! Is this your son?" Cal grits her teeth. She knows the man means no harm... but come the fuck on.
Daniel puts his hand up to stop the word vomit but the guy keeps going, "What's going on? My name's Raymond."
"Hey man." Johnny says softly, stepping toe to toe with Raymond, "Just put the glass on the loading dock. Give me a second." Johnny gestures over to the three, making Raymond nod.
"Oh, for sure." He side steps awkwardly, removing himself from the equation.

Johnny turns towards them, making Robby tense, his arm around Cal's waist tightening. She takes his hand on her waist and slides her fingers through his own in a comforting gesture.
"What're you guys doing here?"
"Working on a project! Some shelving, that's all. What about you Mr. Lawrence?" Cal asks kindly, trying to diffuse the tension.
"Same." Johnny looks to Robby, whose jaw is still tensed.
"Here why don't you give me those. I'll uh... I'll go pay. Meet you by the car." Daniel smiles painfully, taking the toggle bolt from Robby's hand.
"You want me to go with him?" Cal asks softly, seeing him shake his head, "Okay." She nods, watching as Johnny walks over slowly.

"How's your shoulder?"
"Getting better. No thanks to you." Cal squeezes his hand harshly as if to tell him to stop.
"Look, I know you're pissed at me. You have a right to be. But I'm trying to change."
"Sure." Cal sighs softly, knowing this is not going to be a productive conversation.
Johnny sighs, "I don't want there to be bad blood between us."
"Yeah, well, you kind of ruined that when you told Diaz to fight dirty against me."
"I didn't tell Miguel to fight dirty against you."

"Look," Robby takes a deep breath, "I know I'm supposed to forgive you or whatever, but right now, it's a little tough." Cal squeezed his hand softly this time, offering him a smile at the mature response.
"So, instead, you're gonna torture me by training with that prick?"
"Hey! That's my godfather you're talking about! Watch it." Cal warns.
"You don't know Mr. LaRusso. He's a better man than you will ever be." Robby says pointedly, turning to leave. He tries to pull Cal with him but she stops him, "Give me a sec, okay? I'll be fine. Promise." She gives him a soft kiss, watching him nod, albeit reluctantly, before turning towards the exit.

"Mr. Lawrence-"
"Look kid, I get that you're his goddaughter and you see him differently but this isn't going to be a Kumbaya moment okay?" Johnny says dismissively.
"I'm not looking for kumbaya, Mr. Lawrence. This isn't about the feud you and my uncle have. This is about Robby. It will always be about Robby. I don't give a shit about your rivalry. I give a shit about your son and he should be your priority. I need you to know that it's going to take time with him. You abandoned him during very formative years of development and that hurt him deeply. It made him angry, and deceitful, and rude - but it also forced him to be strong. It took him forever to act normal with me. He always had his walls up. Even when we started dating they were there, but I had my own and he helped me break them down so I'm trying to do the same. I love him and I know you love him too. Just... just please don't give up on him... not again." Cal sighs.

Johnny clears his throat, wiping his nose and cursing at the tears threatening to leave his eyes.
"You're a... you're a lot like your dad. He always tried to mediate between Daniel and me... uh... thanks kid. Thanks for being there for my son."
"I love him. I'll always be there for him. I hope one day you can be there for him too." Cal gives him a sad smile, watching him nod before she leaves to meet up with the boys.

Daniel smiles when he sees her, "You okay kid?"
"Yeah, just had a talk." Cal shrugs, grabbing Robby's hand and kissing his cheek.
"How can you talk to him without wanting to hit him?" Robby bites, dropping her hand.
"I'll be in the car, you two talk it out." Cal waits until Daniel is fully in the car to speak, not wanting to make it any more awkward than necessary.
"I can want to hit someone and still speak to them without doing so. He needed to hear from someone that he fucked up, might as well be me."
"Why do you care? He's not your dad! He'll never be your dad!" Robby puts his hand over his mouth the second he says those words.
"Oh god... oh god, flower... Im so sorry."

"You should be. You're right." Cal laughs unhumorously, "He's not my dad because my dad is dead Robby. I don't get a second chance. I don't get to yell at him when he fucks up. I don't get to see him period! So yeah, I talked to your dad because your dad is still around! He is still here! He's stupid and childish and brash - but he is alive! You can pretend you hate him all you want but you don't. Everything you do is for him! You got a job at LaRusso Auto for him. You started training with Uncle Dan for him. You fought in the tournament for him. You're helping fix up Miyagi-Do for him! Every single thing you have done since I met you, you did to get back at your dad, to get him to notice you! You don't hate him. You just want him to show you an inkling of the father you want him to be." Cal cries, watching as Robby's face contorts in pain with each sentence.

She turns to get in the car wiping her face so the tears aren't readily apparent to her uncle. Robby grabs her wrist softly, pulling her back.
"What Robby? Want to yell at me?"
"No. No. Never. But you're wrong."
"No I'm not Robby. If you can't admit that to yourself, fine, but I'm right."

"Not about everything. I didn't become your friend to get back at my dad. I didn't kiss you to get back at my dad. I didn't fuck up my friendship with you to get back at my dad. I didn't date you to get back at my dad. And I didn't fall in love with you to get back at my dad. You are the one thing I can say I have that I have for myself and no one else.
I'm sorry for being so cross with you. He brings out the worst in me but you're right... he's alive, and that makes me lucky because I may still have a chance, however small it is... it's there. I'm sorry for using your dad against you. You have such a big heart flower, I wish I had that. I wish I could see things how you do... but I just can't... not right now. I'm going to try to be better, for you and for myself. I'm just so angry all the time and I don't know what to do. It's like it's always in the back of my head no matter where I am! The only time it ever quiets is when I'm alone with you. The only time I feel peace... is when I have you in my arms." Robby wipes her eyes softly, holding onto her cheeks.
"I love you. I'm sorry for being a jackass." He whispers, kissing her forehead.
"Thank you for the apology. Do not say something about my dad like that ever again or we're over. Understand?" Robby nods quickly, wiping his own eyes.

"Uh... kids it's getting a bit late? Think we may be able to get a move on?" Daniel asks hesitantly making Cal giggle and nod.
"Sorry. Yeah, let's go."

-

Daniel dropped the kids off at Miyagi's to go back home for a bit to check on everyone, leaving Cal and Robby to finish the shelving, something that was completed rather quickly. They decided to get some dinner delivered, quickly coming to the conclusion that burgers and fries were the best choice. Sitting in the dojo, looking around at the completed space, they both smile inwardly at the labor of love.

"It finally looks like a real dojo." Cal smiles, popping a fry into her mouth.
"Never been to one but since you have, I'll agree."
"Wise choice." Cal giggles.
"I really am sorry Cal."
"You've apologized like twenty times Robby."
"I don't think I can apologize enough for that. It was completely despicable."
"Hey, you're in pain Robby. You just don't know where to focus your anger. I'll help you."
"I really don't know what I did to deserve you." Robby chuckles, pulling her closer to him.
"Me either, but I'm glad you did whatever it was."
"Me too." Cal smiles, leaning up to give him a soft kiss, one that he returns with more force, pulling her over his body so she's straddling his lap again.

"I love you flower." Robby says softly against her lips, holding the side of her face as he looks deeply into her cerulean eyes.
"I love you too." Cal smiles, kissing him again. The kiss isn't like before, it isn't clouded by lust, it's passion, a type of fire only found in love. They stay kissing for a while, Robby's hands meandering around her figure before he's laying her down on the mats and pressing firmly against her hips. Cal snakes a leg around his waist, pulling him down so they're lower halves are touching, softly grinding against him.

"Playing a dangerous game there flower." Robby pants, leaving languid kisses against her skin.
"I like to live dangerously." Cal pants into his mouth, pulling him back to her, his hips now moving in tandem with her own. Cal moans into his mouth, Robby swallowing the sound like it's his air. He runs a hand down her side gripping her shirt, softly inching it up her body. Cal arches her back so he can get it off. Her arms raising above her head, allowing Robby tug it off leaving him to chuck the shirt in a general direction. Cal pulls on his shirt, grabbing from the back and pulling it up and over his head. Robby toes his shoes off as she takes his shirt off, getting a better grip on the mat so he doesn't fall.

"Robby?" Cal says breathily, making him pull his face from her neck.
"What is it flower?"
"I need you."
Robby can feel his cheeks heat up, "Here? In the dojo? When your uncle could be back at any second?"
"Horrible timing, I know..."
"Just a bit flower." Robby chuckles.
"Not my fault you look good enough to eat." Cal says, eying his body as she bites her lip.
Robby groans, "Take your lip out from your teeth right now. It's already hard enough not to give in."
"Would that be so bad?" Cal smiles coyly, pulling him back down to her lips.

"I want you Cal. I just want you when we don't have to worry about your family walking in at any moment. Plus I don't think that's how you christen a dojo." They both laugh softly, languid kisses the only reprieve from their giggles.

"I love you. I'm sure there will be another time where you need me and we won't be in a public area." Robby smiles, watching her nod in agreement.
"I love you too. Thank you for being smart about this."
"Surprised I managed to have any thoughts at all when you're half naked and grinding against me."
"Another feat for the infamous Robert Swayze Keene!"

Robby chuckles, "Come on, let's get the Miyagi-Do carving stained, hopefully that can cool us down." Robby smiles, getting off of her and helping her from the ground, grabbing her shirt and putting it on her body before doing the same with his own.

-

"Looks lovely if I do say so myself!" Cal says triumphantly, watching as Robby nails the sign onto the large wooden picket out front.
"Think I could do that nail thing Mr. LaRusso does?"
"If you focus, absolutely!" Robby smiles, giving her a soft kiss.
"The ultimate test!" Cal laughs, nodding. She watches in anticipatory fascination. He hits it a few times to get it in before leaning the hammer back and slamming it down squarely on the top of the nail pushing it all the way through.

"I am a master of woodworking!" Robby says happily, picking Cal up and spinning her around.
"We are clearly not masters of listening though." Cal chuckles, pointing out her uncle's car.
"Oh god... I hope he wasn't here when we-"
"He would have come inside, trust me."
"Okay, phew. We should find him."
"That is a wise idea oh master of woodworking." Robby chuckles, wrapping his arm around her as they walk through the gate.

"Well at least he's easier to find than the car in the woods!" Cal grins, pointing out the silhouette of Daniel doing kata.
"Lucky us."
They walk to the doors softly pushing them open, standing in silence watching the control Daniel had as he moved and breathed through his movements. His eyes open slowly, taking in the two teens at the door.
"S-sorry... we didn't mean to interrupt you." Robby says almost despondently.
"No, it's okay." Daniel assures them.

There's a pregnant pause before Robby speaks again, "What kind of kata was that?"
"It's not kata. It's a form of meditation Mr. Miyagi taught us to use whenever we lose focus." Daniel explains, a careful smile directed at Cal.
"Have you lost focus?"
Daniel sighs, "Not anymore." He ushers the two further inside, closing the sliding doors before turning to the ones that lead to the backyard and opening them, stepping onto the deck.

"Ever since the tournament, all I've been thinking about are ways to destroy Cobra Kai."
"And now you have the answer?" Robby hopes.
"Yes." Cal sighs, she thought their talk was fruitful, "The answer is, we don't." Relief washes over her, just like it did when Robby wouldn't let his thug friends into LaRusso Auto.
"Cobra Kai isn't the enemy. There are no enemies. Your dad, his students, they're just like us. They've just been taught the wrong way. The goal of Miyagi-Do Karate isn't to fight them. It's to show them a different way. Right? A better way! For them and everyone in the Valley." Robby purses his lips as a small smile begins to take root.

"You got room for one more?" Cal turns around finding Sam stood in the doorway.
"Sammy!" Cal yells, running up and hugging her tightly.
"Yeah." Daniel smiles.
"The place looks great." Sam says, walking with Cal further onto the deck, "I mean, the house has been painted and the deck's been sanded. Does that mean I'm off the hook?"
"Uh no. We're gonna find something for you to do. Get on over here." Sam smiles, her and Cal falling in line with the two men.

Daniel hugs Sam tightly, relieved that she's joining them, "All right. Not even opened twenty four hours and I've got three students on my roster. I've got a good feeling about this." Daniel states determinedly, "All right, you guys should all get some rest. Because this summer, you're going to be spending a lot of time back here together." They all turn to look at each other.
"Looking forward to it." Cal smiles.
