Mariana's POV
"You okay?" Dotty asked hesitantly, handing me a cup of tea
"No" I said, I'd only just been able to stop crying
I know me and Tommy weren't together
That we had never spoke about how we actually feel.
Well... I had never admitted how I truly feel
But after dinner, having sex again after all this time and him saying I love you.
That sitting so unresolved between us.
And he... he fucks one of my best friends
While I'm in the next room.
Why would he do that?
Why would he do that to me?
"Please don't start crying again darling" Dotty said, pulling me into her side for a hug
"I just don't know what I did wrong Dot, he says he's fine with us stopping what we had, then he kissed me after all that time apart and said it was just a kiss, that it meant nothing. Then he... we... and he says that. Immediately takes it back and then fucks Georgie? Georgie?!" I said upset, tears spilling out of my eyes, blurring my vision.
I couldn't take it. I couldn't take this utter pain in my chest
"I can't believe her. Fucking whore" Dotty said bluntly
"Dot" I said
"No, she knew your situation, she knew he was off limits, not to mention her boyfriend sat at home, a Lee at that!" She said.
She was right. Maloney was not going to be happy when he found out, if he hadn't already.
Because if there was one thing I was certain on, it was that she was not getting off lightly with this.
And neither was he.
Tommy's POV
"Morning" Freddie said bluntly, I groaned, lifting myself up off the sofa
My head was banging
I saw Danny asleep on the floor, as well as a few other people lying around
"What happened?" I asked.
"That's what I'd like to know" he said, standing over me
"What?" I asked confused
He sighed, handing me the glass of water in his hand
Before he sat on the edge of the coffee table
"What do you remember about last night?" Freddie asked.
"Uh, not much" I said honestly, I remember drinking.
"So, you don't remember fucking Georgie, practically announcing it to the whole house and breaking Mariana's heart?" He asked.
I was so confused, and then it hit me like a train
"Are you okay?"
"I've always thought there was a... connection between us"
"No one has to know"
"Fuck" I cursed, dropping my head in my hands
"Fuck indeed" Freddie agreed
"Where is she?" I asked
"Dorothy's, and she doesn't want to see you" he said.
I don't blame her
I don't even remember most of last night
But the mere thought of... Georgie nearly made me heave up all I'd drank.
I can't believe I did that. She'll hate me
She already hates me. Fuck...
"Did she tell you that?" I asked, he nodded
"She said she wants nothing to do with you" he said, reciting her words.
How could I have been so fucking stupid?
Mariana's POV
I was determined to make a point. And so I gripped the end of the knife in my hand harder, and stormed across the street to Georgie's house
I let myself in, she should really lock her door in the day
"Mum? Is that you?" Georgie called out.
I stormed up the stairs, heading straight for her room
"Mu... shit. Mar?" She said, eyeing the knife in my hand warily as she began backing up
"Mar?" She cried out in pain quickly after, as I hit her aside the head
I grabbed her face in one hand, backing her up against the wall, putting my knife up to her cheek
She started shaking, her gaze darting between me and the blade
"Mar? W- what are you doing?" She asked scared
"Warning you, to stay away from me from now on" I said blankly
"Mar please we... we can talk, I don't want to lose you" she said
"You already lost me!" I shouted, trying not to cry
My eyes were already stung and rimmed red
"So listen! Don't come near me ever again, or I will cut you so fucking deep you'll never see again" I said, trailing it up to her eyes
She squirmed, closing her eyes tightly
"Please Mar, Maloney he... he won't be happy if you hurt me" she tried to reason. Or threaten.
"I don't think he'll be happy when he learns you're fucking other guys behind his back" I seethed
I hated her. I hated her for doing this to me
And I despised him. With every fibre of my being.
She didn't say anything, she just began to try and pry my hand from her face as my grip tightened
"I mean it Georgie, I don't want to see your face around, ever" I shouted, before I abruptly let her go, leaving her shaking figure behind as I left.

2 months.
2 months since Thomas Shelby broke my heart into a million pieces.
And I hated him for it
I hated him for trying to talk to me since
I hated that he disregarded my feelings so quickly and fucked my best friend
I hated... I hated that this was it
That he wasn't around anymore
That I don't talk to him anymore.
That I'd lost my best friend so quickly.
"Cheer up buttercup" Freddie said
"Easy for you to say" I said, snapping out of my thoughts
"Is it? Because I'm the one juggling the both of you" he said, putting another crate down.
Another batch of alcohol I had to hide in my house for him
"Yeah and I'm the one putting up with these stupid fucking apologies" I said, glancing at the flowers stuffed into the bin
"I can't take it anymore, why won't he just leave me alone?" I said
"Because he loves you" he said
I scoffed
"He loves himself, jumped up litt-"
"Believe what you want to, but he cares about you" he argued back.
"I'd hate to see what he does if he didn't then" I said blankly
I didn't have time for this
For Freddie fighting his corner
"You should go, I have to go and pick Nala up from Dots" I said
"Hey, don't shoot the messenger okay? I don't support what he did anymore than you do, he's a fucking idiot, but it doesn't mean he doesn't feel for you" he said.
"Freddie I really don't have the energy for this" I said
"I know, I just want you to know I'm here is all, if you ever need me" he said, pulling me into a hug
"Thanks Fred" I said honestly.

"Do one" I said again, shutting the back gate on him
"Just talk to me" he begged, opening it, continuing to follow me"
"No, leave me alone Tommy I don't want to fucking speak to you" I snapped, shutting the back door.

"So, we're hitting the factory on the 13th then?" Kerey said, I nodded, distracted by my own thoughts
Tommy wouldn't let up, he wouldn't stop badgering me
"Am I boring you? With your own job?" He asked.
"What? No, sorry I just... have a lot on" I said
"Yeah well you need to focus, I'm putting my people on the line for this, 4 good men I'm bringing for you" he explained
I nodded
"I know" I said, I knew I could trust his cousins.
They were all Lees, born and bred for loyalty
The only problem was it was to each other.
Not me.
"How's Maloney doing? I see he's not here" I said.
He must be pretty mad after finding out about Georgie
Then again I hadn't seen any bruises on Tommy so maybe she talked him round.
"You don't need to worry about him" he said, with a cautious look in his eyes that told me everything
He didn't know.
She hadn't told him.
How on earth did he not know?
"You don't know" I stated
"Don't know what exactly?" He asked
"About Georgie, cheating on Maloney" I said
"She wouldn't do that" he said confidently
"She would, saw her with my own eyes, she's a snake, and if I were you, I'd cut her out. Quickly" I advised.
No one's POV
Georgie trailed along the grass path, up to the gate that lead to the field
She was thankful Maloney didn't know yet, she was finding the right time to tell him
That's if... she ever had to. No one had been talking about it.
She came to a stop as she saw Kerey at the fence, holding a shotgun
"What's happened?" She asked, the guns normally came out when they were attacked or they spotted a rabbit or pheasant.
"Leave" he said
"What?" She asked
"Maloney is the only reason you're walking away breathing, so I'll say it once more, leave, before I blow your fucking head off" he said.
"He... he knows" she could only conclude
"He knows? Yeah, yeah he knows. What a lying cheating whore you are" he said
"I want to speak to him" she said
"And I want to skin you, so fuck off" he seethed, glaring at her.
Kerey had killed many men in his time, but the fire inside of him to put a bullet in her head was unlike any other he'd ever felt.
Mariana's POV
"I've told you to stop" I said softly, opening the back door
"You told Freddie to tell me to stop" Tommy corrected
I don't care how it got to him
But I was sick of him leaving pity sweets on my doorstep.
"Go home Tommy, I don't want to see you" I said, I was exhausted of telling him to go away
To leave me alone.
"No, we need to talk" he said, stepping forward into the light of the kitchen
He was bruised. Badly
"You said everything you needed to, her lipstick said everything it needed to" I said, moving to shut the door, but he stuck his hand round, halting me
"Please, just 5 minutes" he said.
5 minutes
To save a friendship?
To save everything we had.
