And now once we reached hall A for their interviews, it is good to say we have survived this far to their admission interviews.
"Please have a seat here, Forgers." As I was sitting down at the end, I couldn't help myself from getting nervous.
(She actually got Loid's jitters) We watched as a family came out of the room and started to scold their child.
-I've been in way more dangerous situations like going on suicide missions and stopping bombs when they have seconds to spare and I wasn't scared yet here I am.-
"Foger family, this way please." We all stood up and entered the room and I have to say, the atmosphere was tense.
"Please take a seat." The interviewers said. "We meet again, Forgers." "Thank you for seeing us." We all sat down.
A middle aged man with glasses spoke up. "Well, let's start with the parents. I heard that this is your second marriage, please, tell us how you guys met." I looked at dad.
"Me and my wife met at the tailor shop that deals with Eden's uniforms. It was how she held herself up that caught my attention.
Since my 1st wife died, I was scared to commit to another relationship as I have my daughters to take care of." Dad said.
I started to picture the scene in my head.
"After talking for a while, I found what my current situation lacked. I was touched by her personality and how she valued family so I welcomed her into the family." Dad continued.
"I see. What about you, Mrs. Forger?" The man asked.
I looked at mom this time. Dad's answer was heartfelt which made me happy and proud.
"Loid is a wonderful man and good with children. He understood what it feels to be alone and welcomed me with open arms." Mom said.
"Good. A stable family is what we look for here." The man smiled.
"Mrs. Forger, you have the looks so why go for a guy with children?" Another man asked. "You're crossing the like, Master Swan."
I secretly smirked, me and dad know almost everything there is to know about the instructors here at Eden.
We even have a listening device under the table. "Let's move on. Why did you apply to your children here at Eden Academy?" Another man asked.
"For one reason. The quality of the staff here at Eden is the best of the best. They are knowledgeable, cultured, and talented. But most importantly, they can teach the students to be elite and make our country elite." Dad answered.
They seem happy with the response. "We would like to hear your perspective of your daughters. What are some weaknesses and strengths of theirs?" The man asked.
"You see, (F/N) is what I like to call our golden child and I'm not talking about favorites." Dad started.
I smiled. I'm curious about how dad sees me even though I've been a spy since my youth.
"She's intelligent beyond her years, calm and collected even in very hair-pulling situations, she's really helpful and willing to do anything around the house or even out in the open.
She's also really mature and respectful for her age. Sometimes I think that I'm talking to an adult." He said.
I nodded my head. -I can act like that sometimes. Even though this is an act, I actually act like this.-
"A weakness that I think she has might be that she can be too independent. I really want her to enjoy life as a youngster while it lasts." I looked at dad and he smiled at me.
"But honestly, I don't know if that's a weakness or my selfish desires. I can't really say that she has a weakness." He finished off. I smiled at him.
"As for Anya, she has a deep and passionate curiosity. She likes to always stick her nose into everything that might be a weakness also.
And perhaps, I also find her wise beyond her years." I saw Anya-chan look at the Housemaster shocked but shrugged it off.
Dad smiled. "Sometimes, I think she's reading my mind." Anya-chan whipped her head in dad's direction. I thought she would get whiplash.
"As for a weakness, she's really picky." Dad finished off.
"Hm. What about you, Mrs. Forger? How would you describe your parenting style with them?" A man asked. -Just like we practiced.-
"As you know, I am not their real mother. I originally thought of spoiling them to win them over but I learn to be strict with them, for their future. I had to remember that." Mom said.
"Mr. Forger mentioned that your youngest is a picky eater, what meals do you cook at home?" A man asked.
Mom flinched. "C-cook? Meals? W-well..." Dad stepped in.
"You see, I do the cooking. And when I say that (F/N) likes to help around the house, she likes to cook too. Of course, my wife likes to help out when both of us are busy." Dad explained.
The fat dude with a mustache spoke up this time.
"Are you kidding? A wife that doesn't cook and makes their child cook? You need to set a better example for your daughters." He insulted mom.
I irked at his words. (I hate this dude with every fiber in my body. Misogynistic ass-) Mom looked down in shame. I was about to speak when dad shook his head and spoke instead.
"We all have strengths and weaknesses. My wife is very organized and keeps the house clean. She does a wonderful job with our daughters." Dad said.
The man looked at dad in the eyes. "Ya but a wife should know how to cook. That's the standard." -A standard that is bs.-
I kept myself from rolling my eyes. "And who are you too..." Mom cut him off. "Loid, it's fine." She said.
The dude from before spoke up now. "Well then, why don't we hear from your eldest daughter for a little." I straighten myself up.
All the attention was shifted onto me. "Can I please get your name?" He asked. I smiled.
"My name is Forger (F/N), sir." I answered. "Your father says you like to help around the house and outside the house, what do you like to do?" He asked.
"I like to help my parents with cooking, dishes, laundry, and cleaning up the house." I took a breath.
"When I'm out of the house, I like to help anyone I see that is in a difficult situation and assist them. No matter who they are because you deserve to be treated like a human being." I answered.
Everyone in the room smiled, heck, I liked my answer. "Again your father said your weakness is being too independent, what do you think?" He asked.
I thought about my answer before talking.
"I think it's not a selfish desire. I even think that I am too independent at times. I enjoy doing things by myself but sometimes it can get lonely.
I respect that my parents are doing everything in their power for me and I'm very thankful for that. It's just that sometimes, I think that I am a burden to them." I said.
I sighed. "If I were in their position, I would want my child to lean on me more and get to enjoy life to the fullest before entering adulthood." I finished off.
"Your parents are right. It does sound like I'm talking to an adult. Not in a bad way. Say, how old are you?" The man asked.
"I have been on this earth for 13 years, sir." I said. He nodded.
"I want to hear your opinion on Eden Academy please." He continued. "Eden Academy is a very elite and prestigious school. Most people of high society have graduated from here.
They are the ones that have shaped our country the way it is today, a powerful and beautiful country." I looked at the interviewers in my eyes with a smile.
"I would like to become one of them in the future if possible." I said. "You say that you are 13, correct?" I looked at the fat dude again.
"That is correct, sir." I nodded.
"Your real mother died 2 years ago when you were 11 so you should remember what foods your mother cooked. So choose between your mother back then and your current mother, who cooks better?" He asked.
I planned on dodging the questions. "You see, back then, my mother wasn't the best cook. The food would come out burned or too salty.
My mother right now, even if she doesn't cook often, it's also not the best. So if I were to choose, I can't really as they both cancel each other out." I answered.
I didn't know my real mom from 2 years ago since I never had one for all my life so I can say whatever but with mom now, I tried to be as neutral as possible.
After I finished my answer, I looked at the man with challenging eyes that only he could see. "I-I see. Well, that's all I need to say, young lady." He said.
It was now Anya-chan's turn. "Can you tell us your name and address?" He asked.
-That's easy.- "Holder Anya! I live in Berlint West. At 28 Park... Sometime, sir!" I looked at her.
-Closer enough.- "What do you like to do when you're not at school?" The man asked.
-Just like we practiced!- "I like watching restaurants and eating at operas." I deadpanned.
"What do you want to do at the academy?" He asked. "I want..." -I want to get close to Desmond and expose his plans. And then stop the war that is to happen.-
"To expose the boss of the or-gan-i-zan-shun." Anya-chan answered.
I looked at her in horror. -What did she say!? Wasn't the answer 'To read books in the big library here.'?- "Oh, also to read books."
I sighed. -Too late but ok.- "The 'Boss of the organization'? You mean the headmaster?" The man asked.
"Haha! My daughter here is ambitious as you can see. She's very curious about the life of someone who achieves leadership responsibility." Dad piped in.
The housemaster then spoke up again. "Then you must know the name of the headmaster?" He asked.
Anya-chan started to stutter. -It's a long name to pronounce for a kid her age, I think. Benedict Ivan Goodfellow.-
"Uh Benrick I'm-a-Good-fellow, sir." Anya-chan said.
"Do you know how hard he worked for that title?" He asked.
"Ya, like running through a jungle. And doing in life-or-death situations to be brave." She answered. -That was in yesterday's episode.-
"Well, I don't think you need to go that far." Good glasses man said. "Now, a question about your parents. What is your father's work environment?" He asked. "He's a spy..."
I felt the color in my face get drained. "Spy-spychia-trist. That means feelings doctor!" Anya-chan said.
"Are you ok? You don't sound ok." The man asked. I sighed in relief.
"Tell me what your new mommy is like?" He asked. "She's nice but she's scary sometimes." She answered.
"If you had to give a score to your sister, what would it be?" The man continued.
"A perfect 100 points. She loves to help me with anything and places with me. She is very fun to be with." I smiled.
"What about your parents?" He asked.
"100 points too. They're lots of fun and I love them. I want to be with them forever." Anya-chan answered. I teared up a little, not gonna lie.
"So who do you like, your new mommy or old mommy?" -Way to ruin the moment, dumbass.- "Master Swan, that is stepping..." The good man was cut off.
"So what? Interviewers can improvise." He answered. "May we please get a new question?" Dad asked.
I could tell dad was kinda pissed. "No or I'll score you a 0." I looked at Anya-chan.
"M-m-mommy..." She had tears in her eyes. "Anya/Anya-chan..." We all called out to her.
"Well, there you go. She likes her old mommy." Mom went to Anya-chan.
"Enough of this!" Mom yelled. "Calm down, mom." I tried to calm her down. I didn't know what to do in this situation.
"But, (F/N)...!" Mom was cut off. "Our dorms have students living away from their parents. We can't have children who cry over small things." The man said.
"Little things...? You consider that something little?" Mom was angry.
"What's your problem, 2nd wife? It's not my fault she likes her old mommy over you." The man provoked mom.
I closed my eyes. -It's your fault your wife left with your daughter. No one would want you, bro.- Just then, dad jumped from his seat.
It looked like he was gonna punch the man but he punched the table that had a mosquito.
"Apologies. There was a mosquito. Thank you for your time." Dad said. "Where are you going!? We're not done!" The man yelled.
We all stood up and headed to the door. "If edging children's feelings is a part of Eden's education, I think I chose the wrong school." Dad answered.
"HOW DARE YOU DISGRACE THE NAME OF OUR SCHOOL!" The man yelled. "Come along, ladies. Good day." Dad held my hand as Anya held mom's. -What a day.-
