Minho's POV
The whites on the ceiling brightened as the sun started rising outside and daytime was emerging.
I hated the brightness as it stinged my sore eyes.
I looked around to see that it was already 8 am. I had to leave for office, wake up Seungmin for his schedule too.
It would've been a bit convenient if I at least had an ounch of sleep last night.
Fighting the numbness surging throughout my body, I finally sat up to start the day. Seungmin was right beside me, sleeping peacefully.
A small bitter smile made its way on my lips at the sight.
I couldn't really express what I was feeling at that moment. Maybe it was due to the fact that I hadn't slept a bit, or because I was still kinda shocked of what we did last night.
It was my first time with Seungmin after all.
But I wondered if it really was supposed to feel like this. This isn't the 'special' I knew.
No matter how I looked at it, I couldn't find a reason for the unsettling uneasiness I was feeling deep down.
"Seungmo," I lightly shook the sleeping guy. "It's time to wake up."
He steered in sleep, clearly showing discomfort of waking up early. Can't blame him though. Poor guy must be tired.
"Seungmoo~" the cooing sound came our naturally from me as I stroked his messy bed hair in an attempt to wake him up.
Not gonna lie, my body feels to be on autopilot these days. It just runs without a command, no feelings attached whatsoever.
It just did things that felt to be the right thing to do.
"Mmh 5 more minutes."
Seungmin's groggy voice brought me out of my thoughts.
"Nah-ah. Get up now or you'll be late. I need to go to office too."
After nagging for a while more, Seungmin finally sat up, lazily rubbing the sleep out of his tired eyes.
He got up and showered before putting on his working attire. Meanwhile I rushed to the kitchen to prepare a simple breakfast for the both of us.
"Here eat this." I put the freshly made sandwiches in front of the younger as he sat down. "Sorry I couldn't make anything great."
A huge smile spreaded across his face.
"This is good enough, hyung. We're running out of time anyways. Thank you for breakfast!"
"Hehe you're welcome."
I saw as he started devouring the sandwiches, must've been pretty hungry. I couldn't deny the fact that the Seungmin in front of me now was indeed very adorable.
"Hyung, stop staring and eat yours too."
"Haha well you're just too cute to resist. What can I do?"
Seungmin blubbered something incoherent before continuing to stare back at me this time.
"Now you're staring." I said, pointing an accusing finger at him.
"Hyung," his voice turned serious all of a sudden. "Did you not sleep at all? You look.. tired."
Is it that obvious?
"Huh?" I nervously laughed. "Of course I slept. This is basically how people look in the morning, Seungmin."
"But your eyebags are heavier than before. And you just.." his eyes carefully scanned my whole body. "Overall look exhausted."
"Are you saying I'm less handsome in the morning? Aigoo, Seungmo, my feelings are hurt!"
Seungmin's face contorted from suspicion to panic in seconds. "N-No, hyung! What are you even saying!"
The pout that appeared on his face made me laugh out loud.
"So?" In a swift motion, I brought my face dangerously close to his. "Do you think hyung is handsome?"
He gulped before squeezing out the next words. "Y-Yes. Very handsome."
A victorious smile spreaded on my lips as I moved away and focused on eating again.
After that, both him and I peacefully finished our breakfast before heading out towards my car.
"Hyung"
"Hm?"
We were now seated in my car, tucking the seatbelts.
"You'll spend the night here tonight too, right? It's new year eve."
I paused to look at Seungmin's expectant eyes. I wanted to say yes, because that's what I'm supposed to do, right?
But somehow it took me a while to squeeze out the response and eventually after thinking for a while, I agreed.
It was gonna be nice, wasn't it?
...
"See you tonight, hyung"
Seungmin smilingly waved at me before placing a small kiss on my cheeks and dashing away.
My hand prolonged on the cheek that had just been kissed.
"See you.."
After dropping off Seungmin at his office, I drove towards my office. We had important tasks to handle today as a new year meant more new projects to deal with.
Procrastinating was never an option.
"Sir, Mr Lee asked for you in his office after this meeting."
"Okay. Bring me the files for the meeting with Han Enterprise's president."
I waited as my secretary went away to grab the needed files. A sigh escaped unintentionally at the sudden wave of thoughts roaming my head.
Han Enterprise was a company that had always maintained a close relationship with Lee Enterprises, mainly because my dad was friends with Mr Han.
What had always been strange is that although I'd heard since childhood that they were friends, never in my life had I met this Mr Han before.
Even stranger is what was happening now.
Han Enterprise had filed a case against us about forging documents and betrayal.
Hence comes the meeting today arranged by my father to resolve the issue verbally first with Mr Han himself.
And for some reasons, dad specifically wanted me to lead the meeting.
"Here you go, sir."
"You can leave now. See you in the meeting."
Giving a small smile, I asked my secretary to leave me alone for a while.
It was quite stressing as I previously had no acknowledgement about this case before and the matters with Han Enterprise was always handled by dad himself.
Document forgery and employee sent as a spy:-
On June 13th, 2017 an employee was caught red handed sharing stock details and company secrets with Lee Enterprises, a collaborating company of the Han Enterprises. The employee later admitted to be sent my the Lees. Although the matter could have caused a great deal of havoc for both companies, a mutual agreement was set in order to secure both companies' reputation. The deal is said to be discussed covertly between the two CEOs only and no one knows what it was.
"If the deal was between dad and his friend then why is the case being lifted again?" I wondered out loud after reading the report made on the case.
"Also why is he making me handle this? It's said that the case was from 2017. I was in my last year of high school then... of course I have no idea about this."
I needed to talk to dad about this before the meeting rather than after.
But of course he had to be busy with something right now. I wondered if he'd even show up for the meeting or not.
To me, it only seemed as though dad was pushing his worries onto me rather than dealing with them himself.
"If that's what you want then.."
I took a deep breath before getting ready to thoroughly study the case in the 1 hour time I had before the meeting.
I wanted to make whatever this deal was resurface and correct the mistakes done by my father.
What I didn't expect though was who the person I saw greeting me as soon as I entered the meeting room, an hour later.
