So I ultimately decided that rengoku and dabi were going to have to learn how to read English if they were going to live here.
But the thing is. I had no idea where to start.
So I did what most people do when they have no idea how to do something. Go on YouTube and search up how.
There were actually a lot of good tips
I decided to ask them which I thought they say yes to.
Rengoku was completely on board and agreed it's probably the best thing to do.
Dabi not so much.
"That sounds like so much work."
"Oh come on. It's not like your doing anything."
"I'm doing something."
"What? Being lazy."
"Exactly."
I sighed
"Fine. But if you change your mind. We'll be in the living room."
{in the living room}
"Okay rengoku. You ready? It might take awhile since it's normally harder to learn a new skill when your older."
"Don't worry lexa! I will do my best and try to learn how to read your language!"
I giggled and started by teaching him the alphabet.
He got the hang of the letters fine.
He was honestly learning and grasping the concept better than I thought he would.
After he got the hang of sounding out words and spelling
I got some Simple books which pictures so he could get a better understanding how words.
I read them with him and when he couldn't figure out what word meant I would carefully
Explain it to him and how it could work with Other words.
"Okay I think that's enough for one day."
"What?! But I still don't understand everything!"
"That alright. I wanna take this slow. I don't want to just cram a new language into your head. I also don't want you to get overwhelmed. Also we can take our time, we have a lot of time to work on this."
"If you say so. What shall we do now?"
"Do you wanna learn how to play video games?"
{a few minutes later}
"Oh! I placed a square!"
"Yup and you can make anything you want. But it might take some time. If you want I can play with you."
"Can you?"
"Yup it goes up to four players locally."
Lexa got a remote and joined the game.
"Oh this will be so much more fun!"
Then rengoku accidentally hit lexa even thought he and lexa both were in creative mode.
"Oh no! I'm sorry!"
"It's okay. Your just learning the controls.
"What you two doing?"
"Playing Minecraft."
"What that?"
Lexa then went into telling him how the game works
"We are currently in creative mode cause I thought we'd try that out then maybe we can do survival mode. Wanna join? It goes up to four players."
Dabi shrugged his shoulders
"I got nothing better to do."
Lexa handed him a controller and he joined
{4 hours later}
"Put out the fire!"
Lexa shouted
"I'm trying but it's spreading too fast!"
Rengoku said panicking
"It's getting close to the house!"
He added
"Forget the garden! just cover the House with water!"
Lexa said started to cover the house with water
"Why did you set the tree on fire?!"
Rengoku asked dabi
"Why not?"
Dabi responded calmly
"Dabi your such a jerk!"
Lexa said after she covered the house in water.
After the fire was put out.
"At least the house is safe."
Rengoku said relieved
"Yeah the garden can be rebuilt in a few minutes that house would take a long time to rebuild."
Lexa said glaring at dabi and he just smirked
'He's lucky he's hot and one of my favorite villains."
Lexa thought
Then lexa got a call on her phone. She looked to see it's her best friend Madelyn. She answered
"Hey!"
"Hey lexa!"
"What's up?"
"Do you want to go to the mall?"
"Uh...did you forget I'm at my grandparents place?"
"Oh...right! When you coming back?"
"In a few weeks. When I come back we can go alright?"
"Okay! Call you later. Bye!"
"Bye!"
Lexa then hung up her phone
"Who was that?"
Dabi asked
"Just my friend Madelyn. She asked if me I wanted to go to the mall. But she forgot I was only here visiting."
"Wait what are we supposed to do when you go back home?"
Rengoku asked
The room went dead quiet
"Well...I'm hoping by then that you both will had gone back to your worlds."
"And if we haven't."
Lexa scratched the side of her face not knowing how to respond
"I guess you'll have to come home with me. I mean my place is actually a lot bigger than my grandparents place."
"How far do you live from here?"
Rengoku asked curious
"..."
"Lexa. How far do you live from here?"
Dabi now askeed
"About all the way across the country."
"...how long does it take to get there?"
Lexa just mumbles her answer
"How long?"
Lexa mumbles a bit louder
"How long!"
"2 days!"
She yelled
"That's not that long."
Rengoku responded
"It wouldn't be if there we didn't make any stops. Also we'd be taking my car. If I'm thinking of stops and maybe staying over night at a motel it would likely be more like 4 days."
Dabi groaned
"I'm going to be stuck in a car for 4 days."
"For most of the day yeah. But we can stop at hotels along the way. But let's hope that you two return home before I have to go."
Then the room was quiet
"I'm hungry."
Rengoku said
"I second that."
Dabi said
"Yeah and I'm a bit too tired to make dinner. So...I'm a just order us some pizza."
"Pizza sounds awesome."
"What's pizza?"
Dabi looked at him shocked
"You've never had pizza?!"
"No."
"Man you don't know true happiness until you've had pizza."
Dabi said all dramatic
"It's that good?"
Rengoku looked at you
"Yeah it's really good. you'll love it!"
{when the pizza arrives}
"Aww man. I'm so excited it's been forever since I've had pizza."
Dabi said grabbing a sliced
"This smells delicious! I hope it taste as good as it smells!"
Rengoku said grabbing a slice
Lexa then came in with soda, then poured them some drinks.
Dabi took a bite of his pizza and hummed at the taste.
Then Rengoku took a bite his eyes widen and then tears. Actual tears started going down his face as he ate.
"Okay Woah. Never though I'd see the day I'd see someone cry from eating pizza for the first time."
Lexa said take a bite of pizza
"And a grown man no less."
Dabi added taking a sip of his drink
"This...is the most delicious thing...I've ever had."
After they finished eating they all decided to go to bed.
They said goodnight to eachother and went to sleep. But little did they know a new arrival had just dropped in
Whoever could it be?
