Slowly the 118 stepped weaving through the abandoned cars as they carefully tried to walk without causing too much noise. They passed by a bird that squawked in their faces as they passed, y/n huddled in between Eddie and buck staying as far away from the birds as possible as they now passed ostriches
"Okay. Just keep moving." Bobby told them calmly "Nice and easy"
The continued on as it got quieter, probably way to quiet seeing as there was a literal zoo on the loose. That was until Bobby spoke up putting his hands out to stop them from moving on "Ho, ho, ho, ho, ho."
They let the tall girraffes passed by them as they watched carefully before continuing on down the trash littered streets the sound of monkeys, various wild cats, camels and other animals filling them. They all stopped to see the animals ahead of them, they went quiet before the sound of something falling behind them startled them making them turn quickly and face the noise spotting an Elephant that trumpeted at them
"I really thought this year was going to be different." Bobby stated as they all gave each other the same look of shock and confusion

A few days earlier
"So it's pretty serious, then." Buck looked at Eddie as he took his turn at the pool table
"I don't know what you mean."
"Well, you're meeting her parents."
"I've met her parents, its only Bobby and Athena and we're meeting everybody. her tíos, her tías, her primos. Her whole family's going to be there." Eddie took his shot "It's a baby christening."
"Which sounds pretty serious." Buck spoke under his breath
"It's not like it's y/n and Eddie's baby, Buck." Hen gave him a look
"That's right, Baby Buck." Chim nodded walking up to the group sitting by Bobby as y/n, who he was once with, stayed down stairs out of ear shot "What are we talking about?"
"y/n's cousin having a baby." Eddie nodded "Chris and I got invited to the christening next Sunday."
"You and Chris at the christening?" Chim asked shoving popcorn in his mouth "That sounds serious."
"It's not." Eddie looked at them "Not the way you guys are making it sound."
"It's the next step." Buck continued "you know, she's showing you off to the entire family. It's like the opening scene of The Godfather."
"Pretty sure the christening is the last scene of The Godfather." Bobby stood up to take his turn "you guys'll have a great time there. Their family is very welcoming." He stopped and thought about her grandmother "mostly. The point is I'll be there you have nothing to be afraid of"
"Chris is really looking forward to it." Eddie nodded smiling from where he stole bobby's spot "He even agreed to let me buy him a new suit. We tried on the old one last night... Barely made it past his elbows. I swear that kid's shot up like a weed."
"They'll do that." Hen Chuckled
"Last time he wore it, it still fit him." Eddie bent to take his turn as y/n walked upstairs "That was at his mother's funeral."
"Earthquake alert." Bobby read from his phone
"Avalanche" y/n walked into the kitchen so they could hear her she slowed when she realized he got a different alert
"That's weird. You guys feel anything?" Bobby looked around at them
"Uh, m-mine's a tsunami alert." Buck looked up from his buzzing phone
"Mudslide warning." Eddie furrowed his brows
"It's like our greatest hits." Chim looked up confused
"Why isn't the bell going off?" Buck asked confused as well
"Don't tell us, the bombs are landing in five minutes." Chim watched them all check their phones
"No." Hen shook her head looking down at her phone "Evidently I'm dialing 911."

Buck and Eddie emerged from the water a girl in hands, she drove off the road and into the water. She said her god sent her this way
"We got her! We got her!"
"What the hell is happening?" Buck looked around at the helicopters whirring above them and hundreds of cars parked in one place
"I have no idea." Eddie shook his head as he spit water out
"Here. Give me your hand" chim bent down grabbing the girl with y/n as they got her out
"I got you." Y/n smiled as Ravi helped them place the girl on the surface

"This looks sharp." Y/n smiled at Eddie in the mirror, they were trying on suits
"I'm not the one that's supposed to be getting a new suit today, you know." Eddie shook his head at her
"Oh, but you look so good, though." She went in front of him making him chuckle "Let's just try it with a tie?"
"Sure." He smiled as he watched her step away "You really love getting me dressed up, don't you?"
"And the other thing." She chuckled as she continued
"How you doing in there, pal?" Eddie asked Christopher as he watched y/n ask a clerk for help with picking a tie
"Good."
"Do you need any help?" Eddie continued
"I got it!"
"Let's see." Eddie opened the curtain as the clerk wolf whistled as he walked away from y/n
"There's a handsome young man."
"Looking good." Eddie smiled at him ad Chris looked at himself in the mirror "As my Tía Pepa would say... Te queda pintado."
"I think I look funny." Chris frowned
"Come on, Chris." Eddie watched as Chris turned and faced him "It's the third one."
"I look terrible." Chris continued
"Why don't we see what Mom thinks?" The clerk asked making y/n walk over
"Oh. Uh, I'm not his mother. I'm..." She panicked rubbing her hands over her pants "just a friend."
"Ah." The man nodded
"Hey, I found this one." She showed Eddie with a smile
"Ah, yeah. Let's see." He walked to the mirror going to put it on
"Her cousins baby is getting baptized." Chris explained to the clerk who smiled down at him
"Oh. Now it all makes sense."
"You look spiffy" y/n smiled at Chris
"You do"
"Eddie?" Y/n turned to faced the man as he fell over, she ran over quickly as he looked around his breathing getting heavy "Eddie?"
"Dad!" Chris yelled out "are you okay? Dad!"
"Eddie, Eddie." She bent down and immediately looked up at the clerk "Call 911!"
"Dad!"
"Eddie just breath help is coming" she repeated softly

"Well, it wasn't a heart attack" the doctor walked in
"Thank God." Y/n sighed her voice Shakey
"Are you sure?" Eddie looked over at the doctor
'You sound disappointed." She looked at him confused
"No. I'm just... surprised." Eddie continued "It... it sure felt like one."
"Panic attacks can often present as heart attacks." The doctor continued
"That's not what this was." Eddie shook his head "It's not possible. I-I don't panic."
"Because you're a guy?" The doctor continued on
"And a firefighter." Chris added from his seat
"Now that's a stressful job." She nodded at Eddie
"This didn't happen on the job."
"Panic attacks aren't rational, Mr. Diaz. But they can be an indicator of some underlying anxiety. Have you experienced any lifestyle changes lately? Any new stressors?"
"No. Nothing." He shook his head looking at y/n "It's been great. Right?'
"He got shot." Chris let out making the doctor look at y/n
"Eddie was shot four months ago while we we're on duty." Y/n explained "He almost died."
"The sniper?"
"He's dead, and I'm not." Eddie continued "I don't even think about him anymore."
"That could be called repression." She continued
"Or just moving forward." Eddie shook his head
"Maybe, but I would like to give you this delightful and informative pamphlet outlining what to do if you start experiencing symptoms again."
"I won't be needing that." Eddie continued to be stubborn before he looked at y/n who watched him with a look "Fine." He grabbed it from the doctor "I don't panic."

"He's right over there." A girl said as they preformed CPR to the man on the floor of the air control office "His name is Nick. I'm his supervisor. He's been unconscious for eight minutes. I can't get a steady pulse."
"Got it. We'll take it from here." Bobby comforted as y/n helped the girl away
"Let's clear out. Give me some room." Chim cleared some room as Eddie got on the floor next to them
"Yo, Eddie, this is the part where you glue wires to him." Chim looked over at Eddie
Hen gave y/n a look as she shook her head watching Eddie continue
"Shouldn't the air traffic controllers be...?" Y/n looked around the room
"Controlling air traffic?" Bobby asked "I was just wondering the same thing."
"Our system's down. Techs are figuring out why."
"Nick, can you hear me?!" Chim asked the man
"He's in V-fib." Eddie spoke as he put the pads on him
"Damn it. Come on, buddy. Come on, Nick."
"Clear." Eddie spoke as he shocked him "Normal rhythm. It's okay, Nick. Just breathe."
Nick then opened his eyes "What happened?"
"You had a heart attack." Eddie explained
"You must have a good boss." Chim smiled "She kept you with us until the cavalry arrived"
Eddie stood up and walked over to a different man "Hey, you okay?"
"Don't know. My heart's racing. I can't breathe." He held his chest "Am I having a heart attack, too?"
"Not necessarily." Eddie shook his head
"could be a panic attack." Y/n offered calmly walking over but the man who then fell off the chair
"Whoa. Guys, we got another one!" Eddie called out
"This is Captain Nash. We're gonna need a second gurney."
They got the men on gurneys bad their boss stopped them "Are they gonna be okay?"
"Both are responsive, vitals are good." Bobby nodded
"Hey, Sup, looks like the system's rebooting. Everything's coming back on line." A worker told them
"Finally, a piece of good news." She smiled at them, a screen turned into a gamble spinner (no clue what that's called)
"You lose. All your systems belong to us. To get them back, send $25 million. Click the link below."
"Karen was right." Bobby turned to hen "This is the end of the world."
"When is it not?" Y/n shook her head as she passed by them

"Dr. Salazar, three MIs." Someone spoke as they wheeled the three in
"Three? Uh, all right. Uh, exam rooms four through six. All three get a full panel, EKG and chest CTs. Dear God, if that's even working." She watched as y/n wheeled one in "Mrs. Carter?" Then Eddie "Mr. Diaz? I wasn't expecting to see you again so soon. How you feeling?"
"Good." He nodded "All good."
"Dr. Salazar, Mr. Rudnick is prepped. Transplant team is ready in OR three." A nurse walked in
"That's great, but we're not starting without the heart." She told him
"I'm on with the pilot. They're 12 minutes out."
"Sounds like you could use some extra hands." Bobby chuckled at her "Just tell us where you want us."
"Everywhere?" She offered, she looked like she was in over her head

"Hey, what was with that doctor on the way in?" Buck asked as they took the job of the ventilator "Why is she asking if you're all right?"
"It was nothing." Eddie shook his head as he watched y/n turn away " I wasn't feeling well the other day, so y/n took me and she checked me out."
"She's a-a cardiologist. At a hospital." Buck continued "are you saying you had a heart attack?"
"No, I'm not saying I had a heart attack. I'm saying the opposite." Eddie shook his head "I'm saying I didn't have a heart attack."
"But you did think you were having a heart attack." Y/n added giving him a look
"Can we just drop this?" Eddie continued
"Think the trauma bay's on its feet for now." Chim said as he and hen walked in "We did all we could. Little snip there, little stitch here."
"You guys want us to tag you out?" Hen asked "Give you a break?"
"Yeah. Great idea." Buck nodded "eddie really shouldn't be exerting himself right now."
"Seriously, Buck?" Eddie rolled his eyes, hen gave y/n a look who just shook her head as the power when completely out
"Mayday! Mayday! We're coming in hot"
"What the hell? I can't see the pad."
"Hang on!"
The pilot panicking made everyone in the hospital panic
"Generators should have kicked in automatically." Eddie spoke as they grouped up "Something's wrong."
"Chim's finding out where they are." Hen told them
"All right, thank you." Chim spoke before walking to them "Guys, back of the building, near the service doors."
"Buck y/n, get the tools, meet us there." Bobby ordered
"Copy that."
They all followed the same way until the building shook making them bunch down before they moved quicker and left the building
"The generators will have to wait." Bobby spoke as they looked up seeing the helicopter hooked to the building fighting to keep from crashing to the ground
