Meanwhile, Adrien waits for Marinette to arrive at the Eiffel Tower.
'This is it Plagg. Today's the day I want to tell Marinette how I feel!' Adrien says.
Plagg sighs. 'Don't do it kid, I'm telling you.'
'I can't help it Plagg, my heart just sings whenever I'm around her!' Adrien sighs.
Plagg sighs. 'I'm only going to tell you this one more time. She. Has. A. Boyfriend!'
'I don't care... Maybe if she sees my commercial, she'll be impressed with me!' Adrien sighs.
Plagg groans.
Then the commercial producer comes over. 'Adrien, are you sure your friend will be here soon? The production team is eager to start filming.'
'She'll be here' Adrien replied.
Just then, Marinette arrives at the Eiffel Tower. 'Hey Adrien, sorry I'm late! I had to find a temporary sitter to watch the kids for me' she smiles.
'That's okay Marinette' Adrien smiled, not really listening and just captivated by her smile.
'So, what's this wardrobe malfunction you want me to fix?' she asked.
'Oh, here!' Adrien says, handing her the angel wings.
'Okay, shouldn't take me too long to fix!' Marinette says, opening her emergency sewing kit and getting to work.
'Take all the time you need Marinette' Adrien replied, watching her lovingly as she worked.
'There, done!' Marinette says after a while. 'Turn around' she smiles at Adrien.
Adrien does as he's told and blushes as Marinette puts his wings on Adrien's back.
'Perfect!' Marinette says as she turns him around to face her.
'I'm so glad I thought to call you, Marinette. How can I ever thank you?' he said, hoping she didn't notice him blush.
'You're welcome, happy to help!'
'Marinette... I...'
'You look like an angel Adrien. My angel...' Marinette smiles.
'Really?' Adrien gasps. 'Now we can get married and have a big house and three kids and a cute little hamster! And we'll call it-'
'Adrien!' Marinette calls.
'Adrien?' Adrien says, confused.
'Uh, you spaced out for a second there!' Marinette said. 'Well, your wings are fixed, I should get going, I left my grandpa with four kids and...'
She turned to leave but Adrien gently grabbed her arm.
'Please don't go yet Marinette' Adrien begged her. 'At least watch me in action!' he smiled.
Mari smiled. 'Okay, I guess I can stay a few more minutes!' she replied.
'Great!' Adrien replied. 'You know Marinette, I...' he said as he started to feel clammy and his face went red.
Marinette looked concerned for her friend. 'Are you okay Adrien? Are you sure you should be trying a stunt like this? You look red, are you getting a fever?'
She placed her hand on his forehead to check if he had a temperature, which only made his heart race and his face become even more red as he jumps back in surprise.
'I'll be okay...I-I think I just need a drink of water!' Adrien replied as he ran off.
He went to take a sip from his drink bottle.
He sighs. 'I want to tell her how I feel, but things like this are never simple!' he says to Plagg.
'I still say you're making a mistake!' Plagg says.
The producer runs up to him. 'If everything is good now Adrien, we need to start filming right away!'
'Oh, yes of course!' Adrien replies.
'Phones on silent please!' the producer called out and Mari put her phone on silent.
'Quiet on set! This is 'Angel' the Fragrance commercial, take one!'
Marinette watches as Adrien gets hoisted up on a rope.
Please be careful Adrien she thinks to herself. She notices a safety net being hoisted up below him.
Oh good, at least there's that she thought.
'Aaaand action!' the producer says as Adrien swings and smiles looking like he's flying.
Meanwhile, at Grandpa Rolland's house, with the Ladybug and Cat Noir movie no longer on, the kids were getting bored.
Rolland calls Marinette. But since it was on silent, it went straight to her voicemail.
"Hi, you've reached Marinette! I can't pick up right now, but please leave a message after the beep! BEEP!"
Rolland: "MARINETTE, I'M COMPLETELY LOST!"
Manon is getting chased by Etta, Ella is jumping on the couch, and Chris starts tickling Ella.
Rolland sighs. 'What is wrong with the world these days?! Why has everything become so complicated?! Waaaah!!!'
In Shadowmoth's lair the window opens. 'Ah! The overwhelming confusion of a grandfather faced with the complexities of our modern world. How difficult it is to adapt, especially when one is trapped in the past!' he says as he turns a butterfly into an akuma. 'Fly away, my little Akuma, and help him simplify this all-too-complicated world!'
The Akuma flies away to Rolland's house and goes down the chimney and lands in Rolland's spatula.
Shadowmoth speaks to him from his lair. 'Unravelder, I am Shadow Moth.'
Rolland was confused. 'Unravelder? What kind of complicated name is that?'
Shadowmoth clears his throat. 'Well, uh... Doctor Obsolete?'
'I'm not a doctor!' Rolland replies.
Shadowmoth groans. 'How about Simpleman? Will that do?'
Rolland smiles. 'There! Now that's simple!'
Shadowmoth grins. 'Well, then, Simpleman, Ladybug and Cat Noir are also complicating my life. That's why I'm giving you the power to simplify everything.'
'Ah! Now that I understand!' Rolland replies as he transforms into Simpleman.
'Oh, no! Grandpa Rolland!' Manon cries.
Chris gasps. 'You got akumatized because of us?'
Simpleman stomps on one foot and greets Manon, Ella, Etta and Chris.
Simpleman smiles. 'Don't worry, kids. You're not a problem at all. The problem is the world around you! I'm going to show you how much better life can be with everything is simpler!' He cracks his back. 'Oh! Argh!'
Manon, Ella, Etta and Chris look at each other. 'Hmm...'
'And don't forget the simplest mission of all. Bring me back Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculous!' Shadowmoth reminds him.
'Piece of cake!' Simpleman replies. 'One blow from this baker's peel, and EVERYONE WILL BE HIT, SUPERHERO OR NOT!'
Shadowmoth gasps. 'No! Wait!'
'SIMPLIFICATION!!!' Simpleman says as he uses his power to make everything simpler.
Manon, Ella, Etta and Chris gasp. 'Oh, no!'
The power makes everything in Paris go worse.
'Argh! Foolish villain! You hit me! I'm taking back your power!' Shadowmoth says angrily.
'Make up your mind already, do you want your Miraculous or not?' Simpleman replies.
Shadowmoth reconsiders. 'Hmm... Yes. Go ahead.'
'You see how simple life can be when nothing is complicated?' Simpleman smiles. 'Come on kids, I'm going to show you how simple life can be! But first...' He turns off the oven so the house stays safe while they're gone.
In the Parisian streets, a civilian is driving a car when he sees another car passing by.
Both cars crash into each other.
'Why didn't you stop instead of driving right into me?' one person says.
'Turning is too complicated! All you had to do was back up!' the other replies.
'Backing up is even more complicated! I'd rather just go straight, it's simpler!' they reply.
Roger gets out of his car. 'Since you're not letting me through, I'm prohibiting all cars! It'll be simpler this way. Car prohibited! Prohibited! Prohibited! And prohibited again!'
"I, Nadja,' the reporter inside the TV, tell you all about the things happening around us. And today, things are going pretty badly, right, Clara?"
"Yes, I'm Clara, and I'm a reporter in a helicopter! There are many problems in Paris! People are not happy at all, because their cars are immobilised!"
'I can't see anything; the helicopter is going to fast!' the cameraman says.
'Stop, pilot. We can't see the cars anymore!' Clara says.

The pilot stops the helicopter and gives a thumbs up. All of them scream as the helicopter starts falling down.
Meanwhile at the Eiffel Tower, they are all affected by Simpleman's power.
Vincent sighs. 'Mah, this commercial is too complicated, we just got to take photos of Adrien smiling instead, it would be simpler.'
Adrien starts taking of the rope behind him. 'I just have to be direct with Marinette, it's simple! I'm just gonna tell Marinette that I love her!'
'Oh no...' Plagg groans.
But before he can walk over to her, Vincent says, 'Smile Adrien, we're just going to go with smiling photos from here on out!'
Marinette notices people from the helicopter scream for help as the helicopter is falling down.
'Oh, a falling helicopter! What should I do? Oh, I know! I have to transform!' Marinette says.
'Careful, Marinette, it's a secret. You should hide first!' Tikki says.
'Oh, right! But where can I hide?' Marinette asks.
Marinette starts looking for a place to hide.
'In the elevator, behind a metal pillar? It's a very hard choice.'
The helicopter crashes.
'Woah! Oh no, it took me way to long to think and now the helicopter's crashed!' Marinette said sadly.
'Help! Ladybug, Cat Noir, save us!' Clara, the cameraman, and the pilot cry out.
Marinette tries to get through a maze and gets behind the pillar.
'Come on, Tikki. Spots on!' Marinette exclaims as she transforms into Ladybug and goes to help. 'Oh, need to wear camera for Alya!' she says, getting the camera out of her yo-yo and turning it on. 'At least that is simple!' she says as she hurries to help the people from the helicopter crash.
'That's it Adrien, smile for the camera!' Vincent says as he takes photos.
'I'm supposed to smile, but I'm supposed to save people. This is a complicated choice' Adrien whispers to Plagg.
'The simplest thing to do is to would be to stay here and eat cheese!' Plagg replies as he gobbles up a piece of camembert.
'No, Plagg! The simplest thing is to do as Marinette does. She's always right, and I love her. So, I'll just do what she does!'
'Okay Adrien, that's enough for today. I got all I need.' Vincent says.
People still scream for help.
'Finally!' Adrien says as he runs to find a place to transform.
'Plagg, claws out!' Adrien says.
Cat Noir runs and helps Ladybug save the people.
'Thank you, Ladybug and Cat Noir!' the pilot, cameraman and Clara say as they help them out of the wreckage.
Ladybug and Cat Noir look at each other.
Ladybug sighs. 'When bad things happen, it's simply the fault of the big bad- '
'SHADOW MOTH!' Ladybug and Cat Noir say together.
'Which means an akumatized villain is going to want to fight us so they can steal our Miraculous!' Cat Noir says worriedly.
Ladybug and Cat Noir groan.
'Oh, boy, it's gonna be really complicated!' Ladybug says.
'Wouldn't it be simpler to fight Shadowmoth directly?' Cat Noir suggests.
'Oh, of course!' Ladybug replies.
'Let's go!' Ladybug and Cat Noir say together.
