In Shadowmoth's lair, the window opens.
'A spurned boyfriend who wants vengeance on his rival. Now that's a strong emotion!' Shadowmoth grins as he creates an akuma. 'Fly, my little akuma and help this young man destroy his enemy! My enemy!' The akuma flies out of the window.
In the boiler room, the akuma flies over Adrien and Nino.
'There's got to be an explanation, Nino. We'll work it all out!' Adrien says. He gasps as he sees the akuma enters Nino's glasses.
Shadowmoth speaks to Nino from his lair: 'Rocketear, I am Shadow Moth. Cat Noir has ripped your heart out and left you in a weeping state of sorrow. So, I'm giving your tears the power to destroy everything! All I ask for in return are- '
Nino interrupts him. 'I know what you want, Shadow Moth. Don't worry, the only thing left of them will be their Miraculous!' He transforms into Rocketear.
Adrien was worried. 'Nino, you have to fight off this- '
Rocketear throws Adrien. 'You're not my enemy, Adrien. Cat Noir is!' He jumps onto the upper hall and starts to walk away.
Probably lucky for my sake you don't know we're one in the same Adrien thought to himself as he gets up off the floor as Plagg flies out of his jacket.
Plagg looked at him worriedly. 'I know what you're about to do but I would advise you not to, considering what your pal's got in store for Cat Noir.'
But Adrien was adamant. 'I can't leave my best friend like that. Plagg, claws out!' he said as he transforms. He notices Nino's phone with the video still on pause on the table and takes it with him.
Marinette meanwhile had given Alya a call from the Liberty.
Alya was explaining the interaction with Cat Noir from her side.
Alya: "And that's why he showed up in the middle of the night, because of this video I posted on the LadyBlog. He thought I was in love with him, which is ridiculous!" she laughs.
Marinette: "Well Nino was over here at the Liberty earlier. He showed us a video on his phone of your whole interaction with Cat Noir and now seems to think Cat Noir is trying to steal you away from him!"
Alya: (gasps) "Oh no, I've made him feel terrible! I have to call him! Bye Mari!"
She hangs up with Marinette and calls Nino's phone. But to her surprise, Cat Noir answers the phone.
Alya: "Cat Noir? What are you doing with Nino's phone? Where is he?"
Cat Noir: "Unfortunately he's been akumatised into Rocketear. You need to come and explain what happened. He needs to hear it from you. We're near the DuPont School."
Alya: "I'm on my way!"
She hangs up and texts Marinette.
Alya: "Nino's been akumatised because he thinks I'm in love with Cat Noir! He's near the school, I have to go to him!"
'Oh no, I've gotta go help my best friend!' Mari says to Luka who smiled. 'Go help them my angel' he says.
She runs towards the school and finds somewhere secret to transform.
Ladybug manages to catch up with Alya, running towards the school.
'Alya!' she called out, and started running beside her.
'Ladybug, I've really messed things up! Nino is so upset!' Alya replied. 'He recorded a video of me with Cat Noir and although it looks bad, if he could hear what we were saying there's no way he would think that there's anything between me and Cat Noir.'
'He merely misunderstood. We can fix this! But we may need your power of illusion to help us out!' Ladybug replied as she took the fox miraculous out of her yo-yo and handed it over to Alya.
They dove into an alleyway. 'Trixx, let's pounce!' Alya said, transforming into Rena Rouge.
They reached the place where Cat Noir and Rocketear were fighting as they looked on from a secluded alleyway.
'Cat Noir! You stole my Alya from me! I'm going to steal your life from you!' Rocketear yells as he shoots tears at Cat Noir but he is able to dodge it and instead, it explodes on a car. He tries to shoot more tears at Cat Noir.
'I didn't steal anyone!' Cat Noir replies as he lands on a lamppost. 'Alya still loves you!'
'LIAR! I have proof!' Rocketear replies as he continues to shoots tears.
'Oh, Nino, no!' Rena Rouge says softly, feeling so guilty.
'We have to stop them before they hurt each other. Come on, follow me!' Ladybug whispers to her.
'Lucky Charm!' Ladybug says and receives a projector. 'A video projector? What am I supposed to do with this?'
'Do like Nino and make up imaginary movies in your head?' Rena Rouge suggested.
Ladybug uses her Lucky Vision, she looks around and sees Rena Rouge's flute, Nino's phone that Cat Noir is still holding, and the projector.
She looks to Rena Rouge. 'You said that if Nino could have heard what you were saying, there'd be no misunderstanding?'
'Absolutely!' Rena replied.
'How well do you remember what you and Cat Noir said to each other?' Ladybug asked her.
'Every. Word.' Rena smiled.
Ladybug smiled. 'Do you think you could make... a sound illusion?'
'Totally!' Rena smiled.
Ladybug smirks.
Meanwhile, on the streets, Rocketear shoots a tear to Cat Noir but he jumps over it.
'I don't wanna fight you!' Cat Noir says.
'Silence!' Rocketear replies as he continues to shoot more tears.
Cat Noir dodges the tears. 'Let me explain!'
Rocketear tries to knock him down. 'I don't wanna hear your lies!'
Cat Noir throws Rocketear away from him.
Cat Noir sighs. 'You wanted proof? Here's proof.' He shortens his staff and tosses it away.
'That doesn't prove a thing! Rocketear replies as he shoots tears at him, throwing him onto a van and knocks him down one more time.
Cat Noir looks at him weakly. 'See? I don't wanna hurt you. Can we talk now?'
Shadowmoth speaks to Rocketear from his lair: 'Shut him up for good! But before you do, seize his Miraculous!'
Rocketear is about to shoot a tear at him. 'It's over, Cat Noir!'
'Don't do this...' Cat Noir replies weakly.
A yoyo grabs Rocketear's wrist, misdirecting the tear and is shot onto one of the nearby buildings.
'Nino, stop!' Ladybug cries as she shows the projector. 'Look, my Lucky Charm gave me a super-advanced projector that will allow you to hear the sound of the video that you shot! Cat Noir, throw me that phone!'
Cat Noir smiles. 'Here you are, LB!' he says as he throws it to her and she catches it with one hand.
Rocketear hesitates for a moment. Meanwhile, Rena Rouge is hiding behind a wall on the rooftops, waiting for her cue to activate her power.
'I don't know what Cat Noir said to your girlfriend either, but I trust him' Ladybug smiled.
'Mirage!' Rena whispers as she creates her sound illusion.
Ladybug plugs the phone into the projector. 'Now, look and listen carefully' Ladybug says as she shows a bigger screen of the video from the projector, and looks at Rena to begin.
Rena Rouge uses her Mirage to create a sound for her and Cat Noir's conversation on the video.
Cat Noir: "Well, you know..."
Alya: (laughs) "Are you insane? I already have a boyfriend! And FYI, with him...It's not just..." (as she makes a little heart on the video) "it's more like..." (as she gestures a bigger heart).
Cat Noir: (laughs) "Sorry, that was so silly of me." They hug each other.
Alya: "Yeah, sorry, Cat Noir, but my Nino is a thousand times more irresistible than you. Besides, I don't know your real identity and I could never fall for someone I didn't really know."
Rocketear realizes now that he misinterpreted the whole thing. In the meantime, Rena Rouge runs and hides behind a car to detransform.
'Let's rest!' she says as she detransforms back into Alya.
'Nino!' Alya cries as she goes to Rocketear and hugs him.
Rocketear sighed. 'I can't believe I ever doubted you...'
'I can't believe I ever chose to do anything over spending time with you' Alya replied.
'I'm so sorry Alya' Rocketear says, as Alya removes his glasses and wipes away Rocketear's tear.
'I was so scared for you!' Alya whispers, as she hugs him and Rocketear hugs her back.
Rocketear speaks to Shadowmoth: 'Hey Shadowmoth! You can have your lame powers back!' He breaks free from the akuma.
Shadowmoth from his lair: 'Oh no!' he frowned.
Rocketear turns back into Nino causing it to release the akuma.
Ladybug and Cat Noir smile.
'No more evil-doing for you, little akuma! Time to de-evilize!' Ladybug says as she captures the akuma. 'Gotcha!' She releases the butterfly. 'Bye-bye, little butterfly! Miraculous Ladybug!' She throws the projector and returns all the cars safe, fixes the damaged rooftop, and the dented car Cat Noir was thrown onto.
In Shadowmoth's lair he growls. 'Love and secrets don't mix, Ladybug, and I'm sure you have many secrets, too!' He laughs as the window closes.
