Back at the Agreste mansion, Adrien enters Gabriel's atelier. The bodyguard closes the door.
‘I'd like to speak to you, Adrien’ Gabriel said.
‘As you wish, Father’ Adrien replies apathetically.
‘Umm, is everything alright?’ Gabriel asks him.
‘Yes, Father’ Adrien apathetically replies.
‘Good’ Gabriel says as Adrien walks to the door but he stops him. ‘Adrien, since your mother disappeared, I... must've been distant, but...’
‘I don't blame you, Father’ Adrien replies.
‘I want you to know that, if you needed to, you could... talk to me’ Gabriel says.
‘If I needed to, Father, I would’ Adrien replies as he walks out the door and up to his bedroom.
‘Wow! Your father actually said three whole sentences! All those warm feelings, enough to melt a wheel of raclette! Oh, raclette cheese! What a great idea!’ Plagg says.
‘I don't want to be like my father, tied to a memory of something that can never be again!’ Adrien replies angrily. ‘Plagg, claws out!’
He transforms into Cat Noir and jumps out of the window.
Meanwhile, in the Tsurugi car, outside the Place des Vosges, Marinette gets in and sits beside Kagami.
‘I'm worried about Adrien. His sword has lost its edge’ Kagami says sadly.
‘His what has lost its what?’ Mari replies, but Kagami silences her, raising her hand.
‘Marinette, you understand him best and could help him be happy again’ Kagami says.
‘Kagami, have you changed your mind and still have feelings for Adrien?’ Marinette asks her, with a smug grin.
Kagami blushed. ‘Maybe... yes...’
‘Then you should declare your love for him Kagami! Then it would make him happy again!’
‘I don't know Marinette...’ Kagami replies, as she thinks Adrien has a crush on Marinette.
‘I think he just needs a friend right now. Please help him any way you can Marinette. You see him more at school’ Kagami asks her.
‘I will try my best Kagami! Speaking of help though I was wondering if you could give me advice on something’ Marinette asked her.
‘What's that?’ Kagami asks.
‘Well I want to tell Luka a love declaration of how I feel about him. Something as good as he told me back when he was first akumatised.’
‘You need to find someone you have no feelings for. That way you can practice your declaration with that person without your emotions getting in the way' Kagami suggests.
‘Isn't that a little weird?’ Marinette replies.
‘Weirder than what you usually do? It's a proven technique. Even books written about it’ Kagami replies.
‘But what if... the person I'm practicing on falls for me? Since I don't feel the same way, couldn't there be awful consequences?’ Marinette replies, concerned.
‘That's why you must be sure that the person you pick has zero chance of falling for you’ Kagami replies.
‘Okay, hopefully I can find someone. Thanks Kagami!’ Marinette replies as she steps out of the car and the Tsurugi car drives away.
‘But who can I find to do this weird love declaration practice with?’
‘I can play Luka if you want!’ Tikki replies.
That's sweet of you, Tikki! I may be imaginative, but I think I'll need at least a human on this one!’ Marinette giggles as she walks back to the bakery.
Meanwhile, on the rooftops, Cat Noir cries out, ‘Cataclysm!’ and disintegrates a billboard of him and Ladybug kissing. ‘Claws in!’ he says as he de-transforms back into Adrien.
Plagg groans. ‘Have mercy! You know I love cheese, but even I'm starting to get sick of it!’
Adrien was adamant. ‘We must cataclysm all the billboards of Ladybug and Cat Noir. I want to make Ladybug happy!’
Plagg gasps. ‘ALL of them?!’ he says as he looks out over the rooftops at the multitude of billboards of Ladybug and Cat Noir.
‘Plagg, claws out!’ Adrien says again.
Plagg groans as he gets sucked into his ring once again.
Meanwhile, at the Dupain-Cheng residence, on the balcony, Marinette scrolls over her phone contacts.
‘Nino? No... Marc? Nope...Nathaniel? No, that'd be way too weird. Ugh, it's impossible! I'll never be able to find anyone to practice on!’
Suddenly, she spots Cat Noir on a nearby rooftop. ‘Oh! Cat Noir! He's the perfect choice! There's no way he has any feelings for me! And I don’t have any feelings for him in that way either!’
‘Isn't it kind of strange that he's out here all alone when nobody has been akumatized?’ Tikki asks.
‘Aw, cat on a rooftop, what could be more normal? Hide, Tikki!’ Marinette says as Tikki phases through her purse.
‘Cat Noir!’ Marinette calls out.
Cat Noir turns to see Marinette.
‘Here, kitty, kitty!’ Marinette calls him over.
Cat Noir jumps to Marinette's balcony.
Cat Noir smiles at her. ‘Good afternoon Marinette Dupain-Cheng, is everything okay? Did you need me to save you from anything?’
‘Not exactly saving, but yeah, I do need your help with something! I need a boyfriend!’ Marinette replies.
Cat Noir was shocked. ‘A boyfriend? M-Me?’
‘Not you exactly, I just need someone to practice on saying my love declaration to, so I can make sure it’s perfect! I just need a second opinion on it before I say it for real to the guy I’m in love with! See, I need to practice on someone I’m not in love with and who doesn’t love me. Does that make sense?’ Marinette asked.
‘Uh, kinda. So you need me to do what exactly?’ Cat Noir asked.
‘To play my boyfriend who's not my boyfriend! And I'll play the girlfriend, but the girlfriend who does things right, who doesn't mess up everything she says. Know what I mean?’ she asks.
‘Uh, not much more than before?’ Cat Noir replies.
‘Great! Let's do this then.’ She takes his hand and leads Cat Noir to a chair. ‘You sit there, and I'll read it to you.’
She takes a deep breath and reads her confession on a paper. ‘Dear Cat Noir, ever since I met you, I've had a song in my heart. It was faint at first, but now it resonates in my head every time I see you. A song so loud now that whenever I see you, my heart pounds along to it so loudly that I can’t even hear my own thoughts anymore! All I can think about are your gorgeous eyes and soft lips. Please soothe me, Cat Noir, and tell me that you love me as much as I love you.’
Cat Noir stood up and holds up his hand for her to stop. ‘Uh, Marinette? Who exactly are you talking to?’ Cat Noir asks, confused and trying not to blush.
‘My boyfriend, the guy I’m in love with of course!’ Mari replies.
‘Ah, got it! But since you said Cat Noir, I thought you were actually talking to me' Cat Noir smiles.
‘Oh, right, shoot! I can see how that would be confusing!’ Marinette replies.
‘Well, what's your boyfriend's name?’ Cat Noir asks.
‘Uh— that's private...’ Mari replies.
‘That's not gonna make things any easier’ Cat Noir chuckles.
Marinette sighs. ‘Okay... Blueberry.’
Cat Noir chuckles. ‘His name is "Blueberry"?’
‘Of course, that's not his real name, it's a code name! Come on, start over.’
She pushes Cat Noir back on his seat. ‘Dear Blueberry, ever since I met you, I've had a song in my—'
Cat Noir cackles.
Marinette looked annoyed. ‘Come on, would you please concentrate? This is serious!’
‘Sorry! It's the Blueberry name.’ Cat Noir replies as he clears his throat.
‘Dear Blueberry, ever since I met you, I've had a song in my heart. It was faint at first, but now —'
She stops as she sees Cat Noir makes a silly, grumpy face.
‘What's with the face? Do you need to use the litter box or something?’ Mari asks with a raised eyebrow.
‘Uhh, I'm being serious. This is my serious face' Cat Noir replies.
‘Uh, well, okay, that's not being helpful at all. Be serious, but not serious like you're trying to solve a math problem serious' Marinette replies.
Cat Noir chuckles nervously.
Marinette was now starting to sound a little aggressive. ‘Dear Blueberry, ever since I met you, I've had a song in my— you’re doing it again!’
‘I'm sorry, Marinette, but what face am I supposed to make then?’ Cat Noir asks.
‘Who cares!?’ Marinette replies angrily.
Cat Noir looks sad. ‘I don't know, you're the one who was saying—'
‘I know! It doesn't matter how you feel right now, I'm the one training here! Just act like you're a little interested in me! It's good to be interested in other people now and then, you know? Always me, me, me!’ Mari pushes Cat Noir again on his seat. ‘Let's start over.’
Marinette begins to sound even more aggressive. ‘Dear Blueberry!! ever since I met you, I've had a song in my heart. It was faint at first, but now it resonates in my head every time –‘
Cat Noir interrupts. ‘Woah, that's the most beautiful thing anyone has ever said to me!’
‘But I hardly said anything!’ Marinette replies.
‘I know, but the way you open your mouth was just so moving, it was like the skies after the storm, like a rainbow sweeping my heart!’ Cat Noir grins.
Marinette sighs, unimpressed. ‘You're overdoing it.’
‘You think?’ Cat Noir replies.
‘Yes. Really.’ Mari replies, as she pushes him back on his seat.
Marinette begins again angrily. ‘Dear Blueberry! ever since I met you, I've had a song in my heart. It was faint at first, but now it resonates in my head every time — ‘ Cat Noir stands to interrupt her. ‘What is it now!?’
‘Uh, well, if you don't mind me saying, now it sounds like you're mad at me instead of in love with me’ he points out.
Marinette was furious. ‘I'm not mad! I'm declaring my love to you, isn't it obvious?’
‘Let's just say it could be more obvious’ Cat Noir grins smugly.
Marinette sighs. ‘Alright, since you're so good at this, show me how it's done. I'll be you, and you'll be me. Come on.’
She switches places with Cat Noir and glares at him as she takes her seat.
Cat Noir clears his throat. ‘Dear Blueberry, ever since I met you, I've had a song in my heart. It was faint at first, but now it resonates in my head every time I see you. A song so loud now that whenever I see you, my heart pounds along to it so loudly that I can’t even hear my own thoughts anymore! All I can think about are your gorgeous eyes and soft lips. Marinette stands up. ‘Wait a minute, do I sound that corny when I'm saying it?’
‘I'm just performing, you know? I'm not here to judge the wording' Cat Noir replies.
‘Oh man, this is awful! I'll never be able to do this!’ Marinette sits down again and puts her head in her hands.
Cat Noir looked sad for her. ‘Boy, you sure like to take the hard route. You put too much pressure on yourself. Of course, you'll be able to do it. I know, let's take a short break, just to air our heads out. How about a movie?’
‘Sure, just as friends, right?’ Mari asks.
‘Of course!’ Cat Noir smiles.
