Moon's House
(Selena's outfit)
Selena arrives at the party with Demetri and Chris. She told Sam and Robby to go in Sam's car while she gave their friends a ride. They climb out of Selena's car and start walking. As they do, the other Miyagi-Do kids show up and walk behind them. The girl spots her cousin and Robby getting out of Sam's car. "Hey, bro! Hey, Clamantha!" she calls as she nears. "Hey," they respond as they join the group. Selena scans Robby's blue jean jacket and beams. "Aye, we're matching!" she voices, pointing between herself and him.
The boy looks down at their clothes and chuckles. "Oh, yeah. We are!" he realizes. Sam laughs at the two. "By the way, you sure you're up for this? With your mom and everything?" she asks her boyfriend. She heard about his mother's visit to the Juarez LaRusso home. "Definitely. I could use a distraction," Robby assures her. Sam's question reminds Selena of a movie scene. Without thinking, she voices, "you sure you're up to this particular murder mission?"
Robby turns to her and responds in his best Thor impression, "Absolutely. Rage and vengeance, anger, loss, regret, they're all tremendous motivators. They really clear the mind, so I'm good to go." Selena turns to him, startled when he starts talking. She didn't expect him to answer. She gapes at him in awe. "You are officially my favorite person," she states. Robby quirks an eyebrow, grinning smugly. "I'm honored," he replies. "There's a lot of people out here already," Chris pipes up as he looks around.
"Yeah, I guess Moon must have invited other kids from school," Sam replies as they near the steps. "I only brought Trivial Pursuit. I'd known there'd be this many people, I would've brought Balderdash," Demetri claims. Selena turns around to glance at him. "You should've brought Uno," she remarks. The boy furrows his eyebrows. "Why Uno?" he questions. "Everybody loves Uno," Selena states, shrugging. The music gets louder when they enter the house. Selena walks into the living room first, followed by Sam, then Robby, and so on.
Selena lightly grins as she observes the people around her. However, she suddenly stops in her tracks and her smile fades when she sees the Cobra Kais sitting a few feet in front of her. Aisha sends her a small grin before coldly staring at Sam. Meanwhile, Hawk glares daggers at her before switching his eyes to Demetri, his face hardening even more. She finds this quite sad and pathetic. Defending her friend from getting hurt by him really made her the enemy in his eyes. This whole dojo rivalry seems pointless to her, but it is what it is.
Her eyes travel to all the Cobra Kais, who are all giving her and the rest of the Miyagi-Dos nasty looks. Suddenly, Miguel and Tory walk in through the sliding door, smiling and chatting. They suddenly halt, Miguel's face going from smiley to stunned when he spots Selena. Tory looks displeased when she spots her and Sam. She looks Sam up and down in disgust before scanning the other girl. Selena gawks at the couple, making eye contact with Miguel before averting her eyes. The cousins share an uncomfortable glance.
Out of nowhere, Selena accidentally releases the tiniest of laughs and covers her mouth. Everyone turns to her, confused. "Sorry. It's just so awkward," she apologizes, not being able to fight her smile. She sometimes laughs when she feels awkward, she inherited this from her mother. Miguel slightly chuckles at this, finding it adorable. Tory turns to him, giving him a look. The boy's smile is wiped off his face when he looks at her. "Let's go," the blonde suggests, walking away. Miguel takes one last glance at Selena before following his girlfriend.
Selena, Sam, and Robby exchange a look. "Well, this is gonna be one hell of a party," Selena sighs. All of a sudden, Moon comes up to them. "Sam! Sel! I'm so glad you guys came. Kegs are out back, drinks are in the kitchen, and the vegan pigs in a blanket just got out of the oven," she informs them. "Moon, you never said anything about inviting Cobra Kai," Sam tells her. "Well, I figured with summer ending and school starting back up, we could stop all the fighting and be friends again," Moon explains.
Selena is moved by her mindset but she knows it's unrealistic. "It's wishful thinking," Sam remarks. "Yeah and very unlikely," Selena chimes in. It's gonna take more than a party to get multiple people on the same page. "Guys, trust me. Get rid of all this negative energy. Clear your chakras and have some fun," Moon tells them before walking off. She makes it sound so easy, Selena thinks. "Is she not aware that they are the negative energy?" she asks, looking at the Cobras.

Don Corazon's
"Michelada," the waitress announces with a big smile as she places the alcoholic beverage on the table in front of Rosalía. "Gracias [thank you]," the woman replies, grinning politely. "Don Julio 70, extra chilled," the waitress says as she sets Daniel's drink down. "Thank you," he responds as she walks around him to Johnny's table. "And for this table, we have another michelada," she announces, placing the drink in front of Carmen. "Gracias," she responds. "And Coors Banquet," the waitress sets Johnny's beer down. "Thank you," he tells her.
The waitress strides away and Rosalía smiles at Carmen. She nods her head toward her drink and pipes up, "tienes buen gusto [you have good taste]." Carmen chuckles and eyes Rosalía's drink as well. "Usted también [You too]," she responds, making the other woman chuckle. Meanwhile, Daniel eyes Johnny judgementally before gazing down at his menu, which the blonde takes note of. He peers at the beer in his hand before glancing at Daniel. "What, you got something to say?" he accusingly asks.
Daniel peers up at him and shrugs. "No, nothing, Johnny. Enjoy your Coors," he mockingly voices, nodding to the other man's beer. He shifts his eyes to his wife, who gives him a scolding look. I thought this was supposed to be a night away from the kids, now I'm stuck with these two little boys, she thinks. Johnny glares at the tan man, knowing he's mocking him. He shakes his head and glances at Carmen, taking a swig of beer. "So, did I tell you I had to double the classes at Cobra Kai? So many kids want to join my dojo," he tells her, peeking at Daniel.
Rosalía knows that was meant for Daniel but chooses to ignore it and continues to read her menu. "Wow, that's great. I'm so proud of you, Johnny," Carmen responds. All of a sudden, Daniel pipes up, "I love how passionate my students are." His wife snaps her head up upon hearing him. "Sure, there may not be as many, but they have heart," he finishes. Rosalía just stares at him tiredly before annoyedly sighing, "oh, my God... Are we really doing this right now?" She looks between the two men.
"I'm just saying, it's not the quantity, it's the quality," her husband claims. "No, bigger is better," Johnny counteracts. "Yeah, well, it was just little old me at the All Valley. So, I didn't need an army. Just the right moves," Daniel proudly states. Rosalía is bored of this nonsensical dispute already. "Oh, my God, 35 years later and it's the same shit. Are you two not embarrassed?" she curtly voices, giving the men stern looks. They fall silent as they glance at her, feeling a bit embarrassed now that she called them out.
Carmen gazes at all of them, her curiosity piqued by the woman's statement. She knows about Daniel but Johnny's never mentioned Rosalía. How well do they know each other? "So, you're Selena's parents," she speaks up, wanting to change the subject. "Yeah," Rosalía affirms, smiling at her. "I'm Miguel's mom," Carmen informs them. "Oh," the other woman reacts. She finally gets to meet the mother of her daughter's crush.
"I met her one time and she's lovely. I'm glad Miguel has such a nice friend. She told me a little about you. She said your family is from El Salvador?" Carmen chats. The couple smiles at the first statement. Johnny agrees with her too. How is she LaRusso's kid? He thinks. "Aw, thank you, she is. And yes, they are. Are you from there too?" Rosalía asks hopefully. Carmen shakes her head. "No. Soy de Ecuador [I'm from Ecuador]," she answers.
"Ohhh. I thought maybe you were Salvadoran because hay muchas Salvadoreñas que se llaman Carmen [there are a lot of Salvadoran girls named Carmen]," Rosalía replies, lightly chuckling. This makes Carmen chuckle as well. "Ah si? Guau [Oh, really? Wow]," she replies. The two men just side-eye each other as the women chat. Johnny feels extremely awkward. It's so weird to see how well these two women who are so important to him are getting along. "Hey, why don't we push the tables together?" Carmen suddenly suggests.
"No, no. There's no reason..."
"No, no. That's not a good idea..."
The men protest. "We don't need-" Daniel begins as he looks at Carmen. "Yes! Let's do that!" Rosalía interjects, pointing at the other woman. She turns to the side, seeing a waitress passing by. "Excuse me? Is it okay if we combine our tables?" she asks her. "Yeah, of course," the waitress answers. Johnny gives Carmen a look while Daniel sends one his wife's way.
Rosalía beams at him before addressing everyone, "The strongest of the four of us should push the tables together." Johnny reluctantly nods and goes to get up when Rosalía's voice stops him. "Carmen, let's do this," she declares before standing up. Carmen smiles amusedly and gets up as well. The two men sit there in shock for a moment, especially Johnny.

Moon's House
Selena walks into the backyard with one of her dance team friends, laughing. Her smile slowly fades when she hears people chanting, "drink" and sees Tory standing on a stool on one leg while chugging down a cup of alcohol. Her eyes fall on Miguel on the side, who's cheering her on. Doug, who's competing against Tory, loses his balance and falls off of his stool. "Winner and still champion! Tory!" Miguel shouts, making the blonde cheer. The boy's eyes land on Selena and he abruptly stops cheering.
He's always felt weird when Tory and Selena are in the same room but after the roller rink incident, it's even weirder. He and Selena talked after that night, and she made it clear that she does not like Tory. She admitted that she thought Tory was okay at first but that was ruined after what she did to Sam. "It's your life, you can do whatever you want but... you're dating what you hate. A bully," she had told him. He thought about that claim a lot. Is Tory a bully? She's had a rough life, which makes him want to excuse her actions. He doesn't want to think of her as a bully.
All of a sudden, Sam and Robby exit the house, standing beside Selena. Tory sees them and hops down from her stool, going up to them. Selena notices this and rolls her eyes. She looks behind Tory, seeing Miguel approaching too. "Well, look who it is. Maybe you'd like to play a little game? Or are tea parties more your speed, princess?" Tory teases.
Miguel quietly sighs, looking absolutely tired. He hates these unnecessary confrontations. Selena notices his facial expression. Si no le gusta lo tóxico, por qué anda con la tóxica? [If he doesn't like toxicity, why is he with the toxic girl?], she wonders. Sam crosses her arms over her chest. "Just give me a cup," she replies.
Selena snaps her head to her, unpleasantly shocked. "Alright," Tory responds, smirking and turning to walk away. "New game!" she declares. Meanwhile, Sam goes up to the fallen stool, picking it up. "Are you sure you want to do this?" Robby questions her. "Yeah, Sam, she just wants to provoke you," Selena adds. "What, you guys don't think I can beat her?" Sam asks as she grabs the boy's hand and climbs onto the stool.
"It's not that," they both assure her. "Drink! Drink! Drink!" everyone starts chanting while the two girls glare at each other. Selena and Robby share a defeated look and go to stand in the crowd. "This is stupid," the girl remarks, making the boy nod. She turns her head to her left, seeing Miguel gazing at her longingly. He holds his gaze for a few seconds longer before looking away.

Don Corazon's
The two women converse while the men just have a staring contest. They're both holding their menus in front of their faces, peeking over them at each other. "So Carmen, what do you do?" Rosalía speaks up. "I'm an x-ray technician," Carmen answers. "Ooo, that's cool! My mom wanted me to go into the medical field," the other woman responds. "Oh, well, she must be proud of you now anyway. I've seen your dance studios," Carmen claims, grinning. "And the billboards. You 'kick the competition," she adds, laughing.
This makes Rosalía laugh as well while Daniel slightly chuckles, glancing up at his wife from his menu. "Yeah, you made a lot of money off that illegal kick," Johnny pettily pipes up. "You're just jealous I can get my leg up that high," Daniel retorts. "Oh, yeah, you wanna step in the parking lot, see whose leg can go higher?" the blonde challenges. "Seriously?" the tan man responds, making a face. "Johnny," Carmen voices, her smile telling him to stop. Rosalía gives Johnny an unimpressed look.
"You know, that's really not as cool as you think it is. Besides, my leg can go way higher than either of yours," she sasses, taking a sip of her drink. Daniel lightly scoffs and playfully rolls his eyes while Johnny glances at her with knitted eyebrows. "Have you all decided?" the waitress's voice sounds as she walks up to the table. "Yes. Uh, I'll have the tostadas de pulpo asado [grilled octopus tostadas] with no sour cream," Carmen pipes up. "Great. And for you?" the waitress responds before addressing Rosalía.
"I'll have-"
"Wait, wait, wait. You wanna write that down about the 'no sour cream?" Johnny questions the waitress. She just smiles at him. "I got it," she claims, pointing to her head. "What can I get you?" she asks Rosalía. Good thing mine's easy then, she thinks. "I'll have the quesadillas de asada [beef quesadillas]," she orders, grinning at the waitress. "Absolutely," the waitress says, beaming. "Are you sure you don't wanna write that down?" Daniel questions, not trusting that she'll remember everyone's orders.
"Nope. All good," the waitress states, laughing. "Alright. Then I'll have the exact same thing just to make it easier- Uh, but chicken instead of beef," the man tells her. "You got it. And for you?" she replies before addressing Johnny. "Uh... I'm just gonna go with the pah-low tacos," he responds, completely mispronouncing pollo. Rosalía chokes on her drink upon hearing this while Daniel smiles, wanting to laugh. He did not just say it like that, she thinks. "Pollo tacos, great. Would you like corn tortillas or flour?" the waitress asks.
"Uh, just hard shell. No green stuff," Johnny responds. Oh, my God, my eye is twitching, Rosalía thinks when she hears this. She can't believe he just ordered a hard shell taco at a Mexican restaurant. She glances at Carmen, who just smiles, pretending she didn't just hear the blonde. "I'll go ahead and put your order in right now," the waitress states before sauntering away. "Ten-to-one, they get something wrong," Daniel comments to his wife. She chuckles. "I hope not."
She turns to Johnny and voices, "pah-low? Dude, I know it's been forever but did you really forget everything I taught you?" Daniel quietly chuckles while the blonde slightly grimaces and shrugs. "Yeah, sorry," he trails off. Rosalía lightly chuckles and pats his shoulder. "Ay, Carmen, tenés que enseñarle. Pobrecito! [Oh, Carmen, you have to teach him. Poor thing!]" she playfully speaks. Carmen laughs at this. "Ya se [I know]. Well, if you'll excuse me, I have to use the powder room," she utters. Johnny gives her a panicked look.
"No. Don't leave me alone," he whispers to her. "Oh! Voy contigo [I'll go with you]," Rosalía pipes up, getting up as well. "No, you should stay. No, Rosie..." Daniel counteracts, panicking as he watches his wife stand up. She sends him a goofy smile before walking away with Carmen, leaving him alone with Johnny. "Ojalá no se maten [hopefully, they don't kill each other]," Carmen remarks, causing both women to laugh. "Well, on the bright side, if they do, podemos salir con otros hombres [we can date other men]," Rosalía jokes back. She and Carmen cackle at her comment.

The most unrealistic part of this scene was Carmen not reacting when Johnny didn't even bother to pronounce "pollo" correctly and called cilantro "green stuff" 😂
Also, you know Rosalia and Selena educated Robby on the MCU lol. He definitely watched Spider-Man: Far From Home with them... and then Selena watched it again with Miguel... then maybe a third time with Demetri.
