She was so fucked up - yep.
Jisoo was supposed to go home right after school - right after - but did she? Nope.
She didn't and now she's running for her life because of two reasons, 1) Park Freaking Chaeyoung roped her in her latest 'goodwill projects' and 2) that goodwill project involves getting all the confiscated items on the principals office which was not vacated like Chaeyoung had promised
"Run!" The taller girl shouts at Jisoo
"I am running!"
"Well run faster!"
Mr. Jeon, their principal was running after them because he caught the two of them breaking in his office and trying to 'borrow' the confiscated items
"Chaeyoung if we get caught I am gonna kill you" she says as they took a sharp turn to the lockers to lose their principal
There's a shh from Chaeyoung as they crouch down on the men's locker room
"Don't shh me you got me into this" Jisoo continues to complain
"Jisoo, if you don't shut up I will make sure you don't make it at dinner" Chaeyoung threatens which effectively shuts her up because Park Chaeyoung is freaking scary when she's serious
After a few more moments they both decided the coast was clear and slumped into the floor at ease
"That was close" Chaeyoung laughs and Jisoo fights the urge to smack the taller girl
"Can you at least tell me what is so important that we almost got kicked out for?"
Chaeyoung tucks her blonde locks on her ears before grabbing her backpack but she never got to show Jisoo what she took from the teacher's office because Jisoo's phone rang and it was her mom calling
She immediately answered
"Hey...mom" she says uneasily and shoots Chaeyoung a glare
"Kim Jisoo, I said come home after school. it's been 2 hours after school"
"Hah - you see...uh-um funny things is I walked...um Park Chaeyoung home and I...was invited to dinner"
"Oh. - That's great then tell the Park's I said hello"
"Will do, Mom. Love you"
She ends the call and looks at Chaeyoung, "My mom says hello"
"Great, let's get out of here it's almost dark out"
They went out of the locker rooms and into the main gate, it was almost pitch black since the school is already closed
Jisoo pushed the school gate but it didn't budge or opened, "uh...I think we have a problem"
Chaeyoung who looked uncharacteristically agitated just hummed in question
"The gate is locked...from the outside - we're trapped in here" Jisoo explains in a mixture of fear, anger and agitation
"What?!" Chaeyoung practically shouts at her
"We're locked in" Jisoo repeats and ran her hands through her to calm herself and think of a solution but all she can think of is her mom getting angry
"Can't we break the lock?"
"From the outside? Unless you have laser eyes be my guest - damn it! This is all your fault" Jisoo scoffs
"How about we climb the wall?"
"That's 15 feet concrete wall"
"Then what do you suggest we do?!" The blonde frustratingly shouts at her
"I don't know! Call the police? - wait, no. My mom would kill me"
"And we could be suspended or worse expelled"
"Fuc- wait I could call Lisa!" Jisoo quickly fishes for her phone and dials Lisa's number
It rings a few times before Lisa picks up
"Jisoo you better have a really great reason, I'm having dinner with Jennie's parents and my phone is blowing up!"
"Okay - shit sorry man but I am in huge trouble. I'm locked in school with Chaeyoung"
"What the hell are you doing there? Okay lemme me just say my goodbye-"
"No! Wait - nevermind. Finish the dinner I'm gonna call Sehun and see if he's free"
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, yeah. I'm good you should impress the Kim's"
"Thanks, give me a call if you get out and if you don't call the cops"
Jisoo ends the call and Chaeyoung is looking more frightened than she ever saw her
"Are you okay?" She asks the blonde
"Why did you refuse her help?!"
"Because I'm her friend and as her friend, I know she wants to impress her girlfriend's parents really bad - and you didn't answer my question"
"I have a thing in the dark" Chaeyoung says quietly
"A thing? Like fear?"
"Yes, Jisoo! Like fear, I'm afraid of the dark"
She felt slightly guilty at snapping at her earlier, "I'm gonna call Sehun and see if he can get us out of here"
Luckily Sehun is free and will be in school for like five minutes - not lucky, Chaeyoung is shaking in fear
"Okay - you're weirding me out"
"It - It's really not that serious - the school is just really scary at night"
Jisoo looked around the school grounds and if she's alone she would probably be crying in fear right now
"Well this is what we get for enrolling in a catholic school" she tries to joke but it was no use
Jisoo sat on the ground and leaned on the gate, she tapped the space next to her urging Chaeyoung to sit - the least she could do it try to calm the blonde down
"It's alright. I know there's like a few hundred rumor's of ghost but it's really not that scary if you're not alone"
Chaeyoung sits down closely beside her, hugs her knees and closed her eyes, "I'm really scared" she says her voice breaking
And Jisoo - she's a sucker for anyone crying so she holds the taller girls hands and tries to distract her
"Tell me about the things you took in Mr. Jeon's office"
Chaeyoung looked like she just wants to go home and cry but willed herself to open her eyes and open her back pack, she then bought out a few things that belonged to a few of their classmates.
"This is Nancy's, Her mom... has problems and was taken away at when she was younger. Her mom sent this to her on her last birthday" Chaeyoung showed her a letter written in rehab facility stationary, "she was making a a painting with the words you know - I'm giving it back so she can finish it"
Jisoo feels her own throat closing up and Chaeyoung pulls out another one, "This one is Irene's, she had this mirror since 3rd grade - given to her by - drum roll please... Seulgi. I remember her telling me that this represented their friendship and love towards one another and how she never really had much since she grew up in the system and was almost never adopted out"
Why does she have to be like this? - Jisoo asked herself and Chaeyoung pulls out two more things, "This is Lisa's and Sehun's - you know how they have stage fright but they're like the best dancers in the whole school? Well, Jennie and Suho made them this bracelets but they were doing it in class and Mr. Lee confiscated it before they can give it to them"
"And - oh this is yours" Chaeyoung hands Jisoo her worn out notebook - this is where she keeps everything important that goes in her head. "I know you're the one that leaves motivational quotes on Yeri's desk every time there's a test coming"
"How did you know that?"
"I saw you once - and Yeri showed me one and I recognize your pen name, TR means turtle rabbit"
"How do you know all this?" Jisoo asks baffled
"I'm...observant"
"Yeah and you're also afraid of the dark but not sneaking into the principal's office - and here I thought I had you figured out"
Chaeyoung laughs and quietly snuggles into Jisoo's arms - She wanted to protest about her personal space but she find it better not to - she's cold but not mean.
Five minutes took a lot longer because Sehun had to find tools to break the lock, "Stand aside" the blonde dancer says and smashes the lock repeatedly
Jisoo was feeling hopeful that they will get out before her curfew but the blaring of police sirens trampled on to that hope, Sehun's eyes widened like saucers
"What do I do?" He asks worriedly
"Leave now! we got this!" Chaeyoung practically barks at him as he scrambles to drive off
Jisoo can already feel her mother's deathly glare even before the police managed to get them out of the school property and into a police station.
Chaeyoung was squirming in her seat so Jisoo grabbed both her hands and held unto it soothingly, the blonde flinched at the touch but she was quick to comfort her
"Let me hold your hand"
...
"What we're you doing in school at that time?" the police officer asks
Jisoo knew Chaeyoung would take the blame - because it's Chaeyoung but she also knows that if they tell the police what they did then they would just confiscate the things they took.
"I...I - um... I convinced Chaeyoung to stay after hours"
The police officer looks at her suspiciously and Jisoo can feel her mother's gaze on her back - of course her mother would be there, they were underage for christsake's (she probably should not have thought about that considering she goes to a catholic school but then again it is kinda late and she already committed like 20 sins today or something)
"Why did you wanted to stay after hours?"
"I like Chaeyoung and I wanted to do something romantic - there's this telescope in the science lab I thought we could use but we just got locked in"
Chaeyoung turns to her with wide eyes and the police officer looked less angry and suspicious and more charmed by young love
"Okay - don't ever do it again and use your better ideas next time"
Jisoo nods
"And before I forget - there was a guy who tried to break you two out, what's his name?"
Jisoo looked at the Chaeyoung then at the police officer, "What guy?"
Chaeyoung who got the message clearly backed her up, "What guy, officer?" She said in a more convincing tone
"There was a guy who tried to break the lock which caused noise complains which is why we went that school"
"There was no guy there" Jisoo said with conviction, "we were just about to call the police then you arrived?"
"There was a guy" the police officer repeats, more annoyed
Chaeyoung and Jisoo is sporting confused looks, "There was no guy officer"
"Are you telling me there was no one else in that school but you two?"
"Yes...but then again our school does have a cemetery at the back so are we ever really alone?" Jisoo says in a blank face which did it's job because she saw the officer shiver slight before dismissing them
"Nicely done" Chaeyoung compliments and Jisoo smiles at her - it was her few fleeting moments of happiness before they faced their parents who looked less enthusiastic than the police officer
"Hey...mom" Jisoo awkwardly greets
"Not a word, Jisoo" Her mom says and turns to walk and motions Jisoo to follow her
She mutters dejected great before walking but Chaeyoung stops her, she looks like she was getting a better prison sentence than Jisoo but sympathetic anyways
"Thank you - for saving my ass and not ratting me out and for everything else"
Jisoo smiled despite herself, "It's not a problem"
Chaeyoung looked like she wanted to hug Jisoo - because this is Chaeyoung and in other days she would've told the girl to fuck off but this time she opens her arms
"Hug me now lady" and the taller girl did, Jisoo mutters something along the lines of, "You drive me crazy" before letting go and jogging to her mom.
...
Jisoo sees Chaeyoung handing Nancy her mom's letter, Irene her mirror which the girl returns with a big hug and then she hands Jennie and Suho their respective bracelets which they then give to Lisa and Sehun who looked lovesick
She finds her worn out notebook on her desks when she entered the room - there was a note stuck to it which reads: are you free tonight? I have the science lab's telescope on my brother's car :)
A/N: so...I won't be publishing any one shots soon (If I can stay out of wattpad) because it's the start of hell week at school. I hope everyone enjoys my futile attempt at being cute.
