A few of the Cobra Kai kids are at the park and Selena sits on a bench in between Miguel and Aisha. "Come on, eat something. It'll make you feel better," Demetri tries to persuade Miguel. The boy shakes his head as he stares down at the plastic bag-covered sandwich in his hands. "I told you I'm not hungry, man," he gloomily replies. Demetri and Selena exchange a glance. "I still think you're overreacting," Demetri opines. Selena makes a face and nods in agreement. "I'm not overreacting, dude. I know what I saw," Miguel fires back. The girl rolls her eyes. "Dude, I already told you there's nothing going on between him and Sam. They just met yesterday," she points out.
From behind them, Hawk chimes in, "alright, so you saw her eating dinner with some chode." He kicks Bert in the face, causing him to yelp and collapse on the grass. "Sel said he works for her dad. Sam will probably just see him like a brother or something," he suggests as he approaches the bench and stands behind Selena. "No, dude. Brothers don't look at their sisters like that," Miguel replies as if what he said was completely ridiculous. In reality, that does bother him but not as much as the thought of Selena and Robby becoming involved. That's part of the reason for his sour face but he can't admit that in front of the girl and his friends.
"Depends on what part of the country you're in."
"Some do."
Demetri and Selena utter at the same time, making a face. Miguel ignores their comments. "Look, I just don't want what happened to Sensei to happen to me," he voices, looking at Demetri. Selena frowns at this and the boy turns to her and mutters, "Sorry." She merely nods. Miguel didn't go into full detail but he mentioned that Rosalía and Johnny dated before her and Daniel. Selena heard of a boy who tormented her dad and pestered her mom when they were young but she never knew it was Johnny Lawrence. When Miguel looks away from her, she rolls her eyes. She finds his concern over Robby and Sam annoying. She feels bad for being annoyed but she can't help it.
"Alright, so you go over to this kid and beat his ass so he doesn't have the chance," Hawk casually suggests. Miguel rolls his eyes while Selena turns around to give him a weird look. "Who is this man??" she sarcastically questions, referring to Hawk. The boy shoots her a smirk. "Your man if you let me," he flirts, winking at her. Selena scoffs and playfully rolls her eyes as she shakes her head, thinking he's joking. Hawk drapes his arms over her and pulls her back so her back presses against the wooden bench. He wraps his arms around her shoulders and the girl raises her hand to pat his arm over her chest. She doesn't think much of it since her guy friends usually act this way with her and the other girls in their group.
Miguel's head snaps to them and he eyes Hawk with a barely noticeable scowl, not appreciating how he's holding her. "Don't listen to Eli," Demetri pipes up, making him slowly turn his head to him. Hawk shoots him a look. "It's Hawk," he corrects him. "Yeah, whatever," Demetri sasses with a sarcastic expression. Selena chuckles at this. "Hawk" is such a funny name to her. "The fact is, Sam's given you no reason not to trust her," the tall boy continues. Miguel considers his words and gives in, "yeah, I guess you're right." Selena purses her lips, bitterness bubbling up in her chest. "Yeah," Demetri states. Out of nowhere, Aisha finally makes noise after being silent for so long.
"Oh! That little bitch!" she exclaims as she furiously glares at her phone. The other four snap their heads to her. "What?" Miguel questions while Selena asks, "which one?" Aisha finally rips her eyes away from her phone to look at them. "You know that video I posted of me breaking that board?" she asks. "Yeah," the other girl confirms. Aisha extends her arm to the side to show everyone her phone. "Look what Yasmine commented." They read the comment Yasmine left where she mocks Aisha's size. "Oh, shit," Miguel reacts. "Man, that pendeja must be really bored to take time out of her day to say shit like this," Selena remarks. Aisha scoffs, nodding in agreement. "I gotta do something," she claims.
"Alright, how about we kidnap her and have my boy, Rico, tattoo 'bitch' on her face," Hawk pipes up. Selena furrows her eyebrows and turns her head up to glance at him. "That's too much. Although that happened in a novela, except they tattooed 'puerco' on his forehead, which means 'pig," she voices. Demetri suddenly cuts in, "calm down, Hawk." Selena snorts at the way he says his name. Hawk, on the other hand, doesn't appreciate it. "Alright, I hear how you're saying it, and I don't like it," he retorts. Demetri throws his hands up and looks the other way exasperatedly while Selena laughs. Miguel's heart flutters at the lovely sound.
"Wait, wait, wait," Aisha speaks up, waving her hand. "I've got a better idea, look," she claims, showing everyone her phone, where Yasmine's Instagram story is displayed. "Yasmine's throwing a birthday party at the Canyon later?" Miguel asks as he reads the caption. "Not if we strike first," Aisha states. Miguel, Selena, and Hawk smirk and exchange approving glances while Demetri just sits there indifferently. "Hell, yeah," Hawk voices. Selena knows that "strike first" apparently isn't a good concept according to her father, but it doesn't seem to be so bad in this case. Sure, this is probably a petty move but Yasmine needs someone to finally stand up to her.

LaRusso Luxury Motors
Rosalía, Daniel, and Johnny stroll through the trade-in lot in search of the blonde's new car. "Okay, choose," Daniel harshly speaks, gesturing to the cars. Johnny scans the lot in distaste. "I thought you sold Porsches," he blurts. "Yeah, right, in your dreams. Just pick one out and get the hell out of here. I don't have all day. What about this one?" Daniel quips as they resume their walk, pointing to a green vehicle up ahead. Rosalía sighs at how they're squabbling already. Although she'd be lying if she said she didn't find it amusing. "Forester? Do I look like a lesbo?" Johnny retorts. The woman rolls her eyes at this. "Oh, my God, I forgot how annoying you were sometimes," she remarks.
"Hey, every one of these vehicles is worth more than that bucket of bolts you were driving," Daniel fires back, clearly irritated. "Bucket of bolts had a lot of memories," Johnny claims as he studies all the cars he passes by. "Sorry about that," Rosalía sympathizes with him, patting his back while Daniel scoffs, "whatever." The woman slaps his tricep, making him snap his head to her. "What?" he innocently mouths while she gives him a pointed look. One vehicle finally catches Johnny's eye. "This one's not half-bad," he voices as he approaches it, the couple following him. "It's a 2009 Challenger," Rosalía informs. "5.8 liter," Daniel adds.
"5.7."
The couple glances up at the blonde in astonishment. "What, you know cars?" Daniel snidely asks. "What kind of man doesn't?" Johnny retaliates, looking at Daniel before his eyes land on Rosalía. She just nods, sending him an impressed grin. "Alright, wise ass. I'll get you the keys and you get the hell out of here," Daniel retorts, pointing behind him. Professionalism flew completely out the window, the woman thinks. "And the test drive?" she pointedly asks, raising her eyebrows at her husband. "Wait, what's wrong with it?" the blonde pipes up at the same time. Daniel shoots him an offended look. "What do you mean? What, do you think I sell lemons?" he questions, taking a step closer to Johnny.
Johnny steps toward him too, pressing his fingertips on the hood of the car. "I don't trust you," he admits, narrowing his eyes. Rosalía steps in between them, setting a hand on her husband's chest to keep him back and facing the blonde. "Okay but you can trust me. I assure you, there's nothing wrong with the car but we will get you a test drive to see how you like it, sound good?" she depicts, nodding her head at him. Johnny darts his eyes to Daniel for a split second before meeting Rosalía's eyes. He may not trust Daniel but he'll always trust her. "Sounds good," he answers. The woman grins victoriously before turning to her husband with a look that says: do it.
The man sighs. He just wants to get rid of Johnny already. "Alright, fine. You want a test drive, I'll give you a goddamn test drive," he begrudgingly addresses the blonde. "Yeah, I want a test drive," Johnny tauntingly snaps back. "Yeah," Daniel quips before he and his wife approach the receptionist nearby. "Sheila, could you get Robby to take this guy out?" Daniel asks her as they near her. "It's Robby's day off," the woman informs him. "What about Anoush?" Rosalía suggests. "He's with a customer. I can call Louie," Sheila offers, about to saunter off. "No, no, no, no," the couple reacts in unison, waving their right hands. "Louie's never allowed to step foot around here again," Daniel declares.
"His ass is grass," Rosalía chimes in. Her husband whirls around to gaze at Johnny, who's checking out the vehicle. She can tell that he's considering doing it himself but he really doesn't want to, so she decides to mess with him a little. "I can take him if you want," she offers. Daniel sticks his palm up and immediately counters, "No. No, I'll do it." He doesn't like the idea of Johnny being alone with his wife, it triggers flashbacks. "Could you get this Challenger cleaned up and, uh, grab me the keys? Thanks," he addresses Sheila. "I got it," she replies before striding away. Daniel frustratedly balls up his fists and clenches his jaw as he turns around to eye Johnny. "You got one of these in black?" the blonde calls out.
"Yeah. Yeah, I'll get it for you," Daniel irritatedly responds. Rosalía slightly smirks. "You know, you're kind of sexy when you're mad," she teases, hoping it'll help him forget his negative emotions for a second. It works, the man releases an airy chuckle. There's that smile, his wife thinks. "Is that why you're making me do this, huh?" he asks with a flirty grin. The woman shrugs coolly. "Maybe. Maybe not. I guess you'll never know," she responds, smiling smugly at him. Daniel chuckles and shakes his head. "Alright, I have to go. I have some stuff I need to do for the studio so," Rosalía announces. Daniel is disappointed that she has to leave, especially since he doesn't want to be left alone with Johnny.
"You're leaving me alone with him??" he asks her. The woman tilts her head and sends him a small smile. "I think this will be the perfect opportunity for you guys to bond. Wouldn't wanna impose on that," she optimistically chirps. She hopes it happens. They'd be better as friends than enemies. Daniel gives her a look, not caring for bonding time with Johnny. Rosalía takes the side of his face in her hand and leans in, giving him a sweet kiss.
"You'll be fine," she assures him when they pull away. The man merely nods. She lets go of his face and backs up, looking over at Johnny in the background. Unbeknownst to her, he witnessed the kiss and quickly averted his gaze, not being able to take the sight. "Don't murder each other!" Rosalía calls out, waving at him. "Yeah, no promises," Johnny calls back. The woman chuckles and lightheartedly shakes her head before finally striding away.

The engine revs loudly as Johnny speeds through the streets. "Come on now, take it easy. This car isn't technically yours yet," Daniel irritatedly states from the passenger seat. "Relax, Danielle," Johnny shuts him down. Daniel releases a loud breath, trying his best to remain calm. "How many speakers does this thing have?" the blonde asks. "It has enough," Daniel sharply answers. "Here," he adds, turning the radio on and cranking up the volume. "There you go," he deadpans as "Take It On the Run" flows through the speakers. He instantly starts bopping his head along to the music and Johnny does the same thing. The blonde turns to him, raising his eyebrows in shock when he notices Daniel enjoying the song.
"You like Speedwagon?"
Daniel turns to him and repeats the phrase Johnny used on him earlier. "What kind of man doesn't?" Johnny just stares at him for a second before shaking his head and fixating his eyes back on the road. "But if you don't like it, I mean..." Daniel trails off. "No, no, it's..." Johnny pipes up, shrugging. "It's alright," he claims, trying to act indifferently even though he loves this song. Daniel raises his hands in mock surrender. The two continue to jam out to the music, both singing along as they get more into it. A dazed smile forms on Daniel's face as he sings along, thinking about his wife. He and Rosalía love REO Speedwagon. In fact, their favorite song by them is "Can't Fight This Feeling" because it's the song that was playing on the radio when they had their first kiss.
His smile grows at the memory. To this day, that's still the best birthday he ever had. He still has the scrapbook Rosalía gifted him that night. He misses those days but he truly loves where they're at now. Although he wouldn't mind turning back time so he could live it all again. A building up ahead catches his eye and he pipes up, "Hey, hey! Pull over. Right over here. Pull over. Just a second." He points at the building and Johnny listens, pulling over as he continues to sing. He turns off the car and the two climb out. "Oh, this is the old place. Used to be three palm trees up there," Daniel announces as he stares up at his old apartment building. He glances at the building beside it and smiles.
"Rosalía lived there," he adds, pointing at it. He smiles as his eyes travel along the sidewalk, reminiscing on the day he first arrived... when he first saw her. He can picture her walking on the pavement with her little sister. The first smile she ever gave him is engraved in his brain. Johnny looks over at the building, the memory of him walking her to her door and kissing her invading his mind. "Yeah, I know," he responds. He shakes the thought out of his mind and speaks up again. "I remember I kicked your ass around that corner," he says, pointing in the distance. Daniel turns around to look at him as he walks backward. "Yeah? How'd that end?" he mocks before turning back around and approaching the front gate.
