3rd Pov
Vergil immediately performed Rapid Slash to cull the front lines, all the while Griffon rained lightning all around them, Shadow targeting the long ranged Demons, and Nightmare pummeling the Berserkers.
Vergil then swiftly beheaded an Empusa Queen, before Trick Dodging a Riot and sending a projectile back to a Baphomet. He then used an Upper Slash on a Fury, before performing the second Aerial Rave combo and using Mirage Edge to send it back down with a Helm Breaker.
He then Tricked back, performed an Over Drive, and quickly using Void Slash before simultaneously repeated a series of Perfect Judgement Cuts.
Griffon: Vergil, I'm sitting this one out!
Griffon yelled as he felt himself get weakened further from using too much Demonic Energy.
Vergil nodded, before rushing back in with another series of Rapid Slashes before summoning his Doppelganger and switching to Beowulf and performed a Kick 13.
Shadow then roared before becoming a pool of darkness and merging itself into Vergil, his coat's markings glowing electrical blue as Shadow disappeared in his shadow, which Nightmare then followed after firing it's Laser attack.
Griffon however, flew back to the group. Landing next to a smiling Meera.
Griffon: Ah damn it, for someone of my Caliber I still need to leave most of it to Vergil.
Lilith raised a brow.
Lilith: What do you mean by that? As his Familiar, shouldn't you be able to just fight for a longer period of time?
Griffon stopped grooming his feathers.
Griffon: Well yes, but my attacks not only drains my own reserves from passively absorbing from Vergil, but also drains Vergil's stamina just to resummon me back to a fight. Plus, I currently have a much more important mission than providing support. And that is to be an aerial scout for possible villages that is being attacked by Demons.
Deonora: If he had said so, I could've sent out Wyverns to scout for him.
Griffon chuckled.
Griffon: No offense Your Highness, but Vergil and I have a mental link. Which means, I can immediately give him a visual and reports. Which in my book, is definitely faster than your fastest Wyverns.
Sasha: He has a point there Your Majesty.
Deonora kept silent, but a slight pout is visible on her face.
Griffon: We should move back.
No one questioned him, but the Angels were hesitant before following them behind cover in the form of ruins.
They watched as Vergil powered himself up, his chest glowing electric blue as the space around him distorts and seemingly being absorbed by him.
He then switched to Beowulf, and raised his clenched fist up, before the ground started to fracture and pieces of it floated up.
Vergil: Rest. In. Peace.
Vergil punched the ground with Beowulf, and the resulting explosion of power almost dragged a few Angels away if not for tucking in their wings in time.
Even with a great amount of distance between them, the shockwave left their hair in chaos and the Angels in shock. Even Arleth couldn't keep her mouth closed from the sheer power Vergil just used to dispatch his enemies.
Griffon: Still willing to antagonize Vergil, girl?
Griffon mocked Gabriel, who couldn't only stare at Vergil with frozen shock.
Wilmarina: I know this may sound childish, but. Does Vergil has names for his attacks?
Griffon laughed, making Wilmarina shy away a little.
Griffon: Don't let his serious nature fool you. He has a wacky woohoo side that he might be willing to show you all. That depends though, but for your question. Yes, yes he does.
Griffon cleared his throat.
Griffon: From the beginning, the opening move is called Rapid Slash, then what I personally call, Yamato Combo B. His teleport move is actually called Trick Dodge, which is basically that. Then an Upper Slash, followed up by an Aerial Rave B combo.
Griffon ducked as a stray piece of debris almost hit him.
Griffon: Then the move he used with his Mirage Blade is called Helm Breaker, and yes. That glowing sword is Mirage Edge. Another Trick Dodge, an Over Drive, then Void Slash, and lastly. A series of Perfect Judgement Cuts.
Wilmarina: So that thing he does, where he cuts the space in front of him is called Judgement Cut?
Griffon nodded.
Griffon: yep, then of course another set of Rapid Slashes, then he switched to Beowulf, that combination of kicks are called Kick 13 and that devastating move is called Hell on Earth.
Wilmarina nodded, to which she then pulled out a crude pencil made out of wood and charcoal and a piece of parchment, before writing down what she learned.
Sasha: Since when did you start writing off pointers?
Wilmarina rolled her eyes.
Wilmarina: As his student, he harshly made sure to drill his lessons into my head, this is just a precaution for any future sessions.
Everyone couldn't help but sweat drop at her bluntness.
Griffon: That's a good mindset to have, he doesn't like those who take their gifts for granted. Just because you are strong, doesn't mean you don't have to improve yourself. And if you are truly serious on winning his attention, you should try to pry more into his life.
Wilmarina and Sasha gained faint blushes on their cheeks, while Deonora's mind ran wild with ideas. Druella however, could only fidget slightly as Lilith placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder.
Arleth: Hold on, are you saying?
Griffon: He's not in a relationship? Yes, he's only helping Lilith on a professional level. But that doesn't stop these girls from trying to win his affection. Well, two won but he sees one of them more like a daughter, and the other as a... You know, I'm not sure how he sees you Meera.
Meera's ears dropped down, yet soon enough she recovered.
Meera: I don't care what he sees me as. Master is Master, and I am willing to follow him until the end of my life.
Her resolve made the Angels unsure of what to think of Vergil. At first, they thought him as arrogant, but his display of power made them respectfully fearful of him. But hearing Meera's declaration, they became unsure.
Lilith: I have a question to ask Griffon, how come you know Vergil that much? I mean, I get it that you're his Familiar alongside the others. But to compare you to other Familiars, you know more so than the Familiars I know of.
Griffon huffed.
Griffon: I see, so I'm guessing he didn't tell you then?
Lilith became confused.
Lilith: Tell us what?
Griffon sighed.
Griffon: Tch, I'd much prefer if he is the one to tell you all, but I suppose I could say a part of the reason why I know him well. But to fully understand what I mean, you should ask Vergil about it.
Griffon glowed slightly.
Griffon: Ah, seems like I need to fully return to Vergil to properly recover. But anyway, all that I could say is that. The other Familiars and I, are his nightmares.
With that, his body dissolved into a black substance that crawled on the grass, straight towards Vergil. Who just beheaded the last and final Behemoth.
He huffed as he jumped of the disintegrating corpse before looking around.
He cracked his neck, then fixed his collar, before walking back to the group.
Vergil: The Demons have been dealt with, now come. I'd rather get some sleep than none at all before dealing with meeting every important being in the morning.
Lilith and the rest moved next to Vergil, Arleth however watched in silence.
Vergil: For the meeting tomorrow Arleth, bring as many to bring you comfort. Just be sure to keep them in line, for I will not hesitate to discipline them personally.
The threat made her shiver, even the Angels couldn't help but take a step back out of fear. While Wilmarina could only stop herself from rubbing her backside as a faint blush of humiliation briefly shone on her face.
Sasha giggled after remembering how Vergil embarrassed Wilmarina when she got in trouble with Mersé. After all, she was the one who held the riding crop Vergil used to make sure his lesson stays.
Arleth nodded, which is good enough for Vergil. He then created a portal and went through, followed by the rest. Except for Lilith, who stuck her tongue out at Arleth before jumping through the portal. For someone of her age and intelligence, she is quite childish.
Vergil Pov
Vergil: Was that truly necessary, Lilith?
I sighed as Lilith giggled at her bout of childishness.
Lilith: No, but it's good stress relief and to put more salt on the wound. You did prove your point and scared her.
I sighed yet again.
Vergil: How childish.
Lilith waved him off.
Lilith: Oh please, that's the least I could do, other than killing her then and there. But I'm willing to see how this goes.
I groaned inward. For someone of her age, I fully expect her to be the most mature out of all of us here.
Lilith: By the way, are you sure you want to have a meeting as soon as the sun rises?
I rolled my eyes.
Vergil: Yes, I've survived not sleeping for months. What's the bare minimum of five hours of sleep do bad to me?
Lilith awkwardly chuckled.
Lilith: I guess you have a point there... I'll just go and find my Crystal Ball.
She then immediately left the group, followed by Deonora who told us that she'll be resting, and Druella who followed her mother after wishing me goodnight. At least she's changing.
I bid Sasha and Wilmarina goodnight, before entering my own room. But the sounds of slithering outside my door is starting to annoy me.
Vergil: It's past your bedtime Topaz.
I heard a small "eep" before my door opened, revealing Topaz clutching a stuffed Ryu toy I bought her when we visited the Hot springs owned by a Ryu.
Topaz: Sorry... It's just, I couldn't sleep knowing you were meeting with The Chief Goddess.
I sat down after I took off my coat, before motioning her to sit next to me.
Vergil: Then I apologize for making you worry.
I rubbed her head softly. This is a good time to ask her.
Vergil: Tell me Topaz, why call me your Father?
She flinched, but immediately relaxed.
Topaz: Well, after hearing news of my original parents dying from the Demons. I was devastated. Yet, you still kept me close. At first I saw you as an Older Sibling, like a brother. But as time went on. I started to see you as my Father.
I see, I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
Vergil: I see, then I suppose I will meet such requirements of yours to the fullest. I admit, I am not the best Father considering I have not raised my own son. But I am willing to try and improve.
I felt her lay on my lap.
Topaz: You don't need to improve, you're already the best Papa.
I froze a little, before letting out a small smile. I felt her heartbeat steady and hear her snore softly, she must've fallen asleep already.
Deciding to lay her down on my bed, considering it is large enough to accommodate at least five adults, I could use the company.
I laid down next to her, before sighing.
Vergil: Meera, if you wish to join us. Do not hesitate.
I heard the door open before my ears were greeted with the sounds of muffled shuffling, before the bed rocked from Meera's act of taking the other side.
Meera: Goodnight Master.
She said with a happy smile, before slumber took over. With her arm hugging Topaz, and Topaz herself in between us. I couldn't help but be reminded of the time were Dante and I couldn't sleep. So we had to share Mother and Father's bed.
Maybe, once everything is dealt with. Maybe settling down isn't so bad.
Time Skip 3rd Pov
Lescatie, a once beautiful kingdom, now left as ruins after a catastrophe. With it being abandoned however, it is a perfect place for a meeting of neutral nature.
With the castle still in shape, only the piles of rubble and ripped tapestries were cleaned up by Shoggoth Maids. The Kikimora Maids however, were tasked on cleaning the the outside of the castle. For these two species if in a single room, is like oil and water.
Hours passed, and the Castle looked good as new. Lilith then appeared via portal she personally made, and talked to the Head Maids of the two Mamono species separately.
Moments passed by, as portals of different colors appeared at the front of the Castle. One golden around the edges, another of oceanic green, another of Forest Green, another of Sakura Pink, and the last one of Pitch Black.
From the Golden portal, came a familiar Pharaoh, her exotic colored skin covered by a thin layer of sweat as she came from the desert, made the sun's rays shine on her skin.
Ruz Dizirt, the Pharaoh of the largest Oasis to exist on the Desert Sand sashayed her way towards Lilith, who greeted her with a hug.
Out of the same portal, a Half Woman Half Snake slithered her way towards Lilith, whom she greeted with a bow. Ruz however, kept a frown from appearing on her face.
Her species is called an Aphophis, and she happens to be their Queen as she has took over the former largest Oasis of the Desert, which now turned into a Demon Realm.
Her name is Sapphire, as she is unique amongst her peers, for she has Sapphire blue scales.
The portal closed, and from the Oceanic Green portal came out water first, but instead of flowing freely, the water floated a few feet off the ground and on it, rode a Sea Bishop. Behind her is a Mermaid, but instead of a typical mermaid, she has flowing fins, similar to that of a Koi.
She is Poseidon, the Goddess of the Sea, and patron Goddess of any sea dwelling Mamono.
Out next seems to be a Mermaid with almost see through skin, except she isn't a Mermaid, she is called an Undine. Her name is Difina, The Great Songstress ruling the Seven Islands.
The portal closed, and from the portal with the edges of Forest Green. Out came a beautiful woman, with a body that even models would kill for. She wore a flowing strapless green dress, and behind her, are multicolored butterfly wings.
She is Eden, a Titania and the Queen of fairies.
The portal then briefly shone red when something jumped out of it. The figure landed on four legs before standing up on two.
She has dark fur all over her body, but on her arms and legs are by far the bushiest. Her eyes of red and black, a malicious smile etched on her face as her claws dug into the ground. Her black hair unruly and untamed, and on top of her head are a matching pair of wolf ears. She is from the species of beastman called a Hellhound, but she also happens to be the strongest of them all, thus their matriarch.
Her name is Helia, The Strongest Single Hellhound.
From the Sakura Pink portal, out came a woman of Asian descent. Her straight black hair shone from the sun's rays and her movement measured. She wore a Yukata, peach in coloration as it was pink on the bottom, before fading to white above. She has Nine flowing tails, similar of color to her hair, but slightly gray. And on her head, a pair of fox ears with the same coloration as the tail.
She is Yoma, The Kitsune. The Leader of the biggest faction within Zipangu. Flanking her on both sides, are her Daughters. Yet they have distinct features that allows them to be easily recognized.
The eldest twin has Snow White hair, along with her six tails and pair of fox ears. Bright blue eyes scanned the area, before being closed as a soft sigh escaped her lips.
The youngest twin is the opposite of her oldest twin, with brownish hair and red ruby eyes. Her six tails are of a lighter brown and on her head, are a pair of fox ears similar in color to her tails.
Both are named Kaga, the eldest. And Akagi, the youngest.
But behind them are a group of Kunoichis and another group of Ochimushas followed them as body guards.
As their portal closed. The one of Pitch Black shimmered before out came out came a woman covered with black goo. Yet this black goo is somewhat akin to a symbiote as it can be seen covering the woman to create makeshift clothing, before ending to some sort of tentacles.
This woman is known as the Fallen Goddess. Her smirk promises lewdness, and the way she moves her body is that of a seductress. But try as hard as she might, she won't impress Vergil.
With the Demon Lord's allies complete, the clouds parted before letting the sun's rays shine down upon the earth as winged women descent from the heavens above.
At the very center is Arleth, flanked by Angels and Valkyries. But the ones closest to her are far more decorated. With the Valkyrie having a more distinct helmet design, instead of fully covering the head, it's more akin to a mask with winged sides.
The Angel on her left is also more decorated. With wings larger than the others, yet smaller than Arleth's. Her breastplate has Arleth's face on it with eyes closed and instead of wearing a helmet, she doesn't wear one.
The tension between the Demon Lord's Faction and The Order Faction, is as thick as clay. Even a knife could have a hard time cutting through it.
Without any exchanged words. They entered the castle, and at the very center of the ballroom lies waiting are chairs, surrounding a round table.
Deonora herself is already on her seat, chatting patiently with a Man in dark armor. While a woman in an outfit similar to that of the famed Queen of Hearts, sat idly on one of the seats, seemingly listening to their conversation. They noticed them entering and greeted them with respect, except for the Man who kissed Lilith.
They took a seat each. With Lilith and her husband taking the seats next to a larger seat. Followed by Ruz, who is followed by Sapphire, next to her is Poseidon and Difina while the Sea Bishop floated idle next to Poseidon.
Next to them is The Fallen Goddess, followed Helia, followed by Eden, who is followed by Yoma and her twin daughters. The Valkyrie then sat next to the twins, followed by the Angel and finally Arleth, before the second to the last seat being taken by Deonora herself.
The room was silent, but before Lilith could start making small talk, the entire castle shook before a blue cross portal appeared before them. They couldn't see the other side, but didn't have to see any further when Vergil himself came out of the portal, all the while reading a book.
He didn't even bother watching where he was going, but he reached his seat without any hassle. Only for him to dodge an attack by a Fury by merely tilting his head to the side by an inch.
The Fury screeched as it flew from his portal and towards him before he dodged, and when it landed. It tried to screech yet again only for Yamato to cut it in half. This happened all the while Vergil kept reading his book.
Vergil: Tch, to think one would appear and attack me at my time of leisure. Such audacity.
When he closed his book, and eyed everyone in the room. He let out a mental sigh as everyone just stared at him.
Vergil: Apologies for the display earlier, but it would seems I wouldn't get any rest after this meeting is done. Considering I have to cull them yet again.
Vergil cleared his throat before standing up and bowing.
Vergil: Greetings, well respected members of this unorthodox society. I am Vergil Sparda, Son of Sparda.
He straightened himself.
Vergil: Let us start, shall we?
And as soon as he took a seat. The entire room erupted with noise as The Fallen Goddess, started talking about how annoying he was for ruining her plan to corrupt Sasha.
He sighed, ignoring the ranting Goddess.
Vergil: What a pain.
