Adelaide's POV
Stefan: "Let's say Mikael followed Elena in here. He tried to grab her so he could use her as bait."
Elena: "and I what, vervained him?"
Damon: "No, we vervained him. He's an original, we gotta make it look realistic
They all continued to talk about the plan while I sat silently until I heard Stefan say
"We drove it through his heart" it being a dagger
"Wait how would u drive it through his heart if vampires can't dagger an original and what about when he asks to see the body?" I ask. I'm not really on their side but if I make it known that me and Rebekah are planning to help Klaus then they'll never let me hear anything
"Good point. You my dear brother have been compelled to do what Klaus says. So if the idea is to lure him back here and kill him, the last thing we need is you getting tripped up and tongue-tied" Damon says as he waves a finger in Stefan's face
"We'll don't look at me, I'm just in charge of getting him back here" Stefan says
"Klaus is smart-" Elena says
"Debatable" I say cutting her off
"If we tell him that Mikael's dead he'll want proof" Elena continued
"Then I shall be dead" an unknown man said
It didn't take a genius to figure out this was Mikael I looked at him closely examining his face, it's not surprising he looks like the pictures I was shown when I was younger but for whatever reason he look a tiny bit older, a few more wrinkles here and there. I'm guessing dessiccation really did a number on him
"What if he wants to see you in person" Elena said from next to me
"Well it means our plan is working. Klaus will absolutely want to see my body. You lure him here and I will kill him" Mikael says
"But why do you want to kill him. Isn't your wife the one that cheated" I say and Damon elbows me in the ribs and Mikael watches me with what I hope to be curiosity.
I'm not trying to be rude but Mikael has to be the most whipped man I've ever met, avenging a woman who cheated on you probably more than once and forced you to raise a child that wasn't yours without your knowledge. It's actually quiet embarrassing, I think he needs to realise his loyalties are wildly misplaced and in no way have they ever been reciprocated
"What would you kill him with? Those daggers won't work on him" Stefan says
"Well I am in possession of a stake fashioned from the wood of the ancient white oak tree. The one that left these ashes when it burned" Mikael says
"Where is it?" Damon asks
"Not here. Knowing it's location is my insurance policy"
"Against what?" Stefan asks
"You leaving this in my heart" he dips the dagger in the bottle before continuing
"You see a vampire can't dagger an original without dying so it falls to you" Mikael says as he hands Elena the dagger
"You want me to actually dagger you?" Elena asks
"Klaus will leave nothing to chance especially when it comes to trust" Mikael says
Elena just holds the dagger in her hands and stares at it as everyone watches her hesitate. I don't really know what's difficult about it, you just lift the dagger point it at his heart and dig in
"Do you want me to do it?" I ask
"You want to actually dagger him?" Elena asks in disbelief
"I don't like him and your taking a very long time" I say. Elena hesitates but hands me the dagger and as soon as she does I shove it in Mikael's heart
"I'll be upstairs if you need me" I announce

"I hate everything in my closet I have nothing to wear for homecoming" Elena complained
I was currently sitting with Bonnie, Davina and Elena in the Gilbert house judging the outfits Elena pulls out of her wardrobe.
Davina dragged me here and in the spirit of peace I have decided to bite back my comments for a while
"Why would you ever buy such a dress" I stare at the dress horrified at what my eyes have just seen she holds another one out and playfully rolls her eyes at me before putting it back in her wardrobe
"Don't go. Let's stay home, order take-out and over analyse ancient hieroglyphic thingies with Alaric. Mari your actually good at that, you would be a big help"
"You know for once I actually agree with staying home, all this supernatural stuff is crazy. And I'm not even involved!" Davina says throwing her hands in the air
"I kinda have to go. I'm meant to be some sort of back up in case anything goes wrong. Damon wants me to like poof him out of there, I got tired of trying to explain to him that I can only do it to myself" I say leaning back on the bed
"We have to go. Caroline will kill us" Elena says pulling out another dress
"Don't even think about wearing that, throw it away" Davina says while laying upside down on the bed
"Caroline actually has a date." Bonnie says
"Davina has a date to" I says
"Since when?!" Bonnie and Elena say at the same time
"Well while you guys were out slaying whatever type of demon it is this week Dean asked me out" Davina says (dean is just a random boy)
"Isn't he on the football team?" Elena asked still shuffling through her things
"Ye-" Davina says before she's cut off
"Yep and despite his large reputation for sleeping around he doesn't have a std" I say
"Why do you know that?" Bonnie asks
"You have to do research, what kind of friend would I be if I let her have sex with a guy who had a std" I say
"She would be fine because she would use protection" Elena says
"What if she decided to take birth control instead of using a condom..... exactly" I say
We stayed there for a while talking and laughing before Elena decided to just ask Davina to borrow one of her dresses

Caroline called me and asked me to meet her at her house. I sat on the bed while she ranted about Tyler setting Matt and Rebekah up
"And I just feel like I can't say anything cause if I do then I'm the mean one and your the only one I can talk to cause Tyler's sired Matt doesn't wanna be involved Bonnie's still kinda sore from the Jeremy thing and Elena has her problems with Stefan" Caroline ranted while pacing the room
"Nice to know I'm a last resort" I say
"You know I don't mean it like that your my friend. Like my best friend. And I know I've known Elena and Bonnie for ages but it just always seems like they're best friends and I'm left on the side. You don't leave me on the side though, neither do Osa and Davina but I feel like they could get me killed one day even though they're human and I'm a vampire, they just seem...." She paused like she was trying to find the right word
"Reckless?" I ask
"Yeah ish" Caroline
"Yeah, no it's fine, it's pretty normal in London though I think Americans are a bit too safe"
"Right. I'm too safe for looking when I cross the road" Caroline says sarcastically
"We only value our lives like 50% of the time, I cross the road based on hearing" I say
"But what if you get hit?"
"Then I better die or get up cause I'm not laying on the floor while everyone watches me. That shit's embarrassing"
"Your weird"
"So are you" I say just as my phone buzzes

"Ok. Wait! Please wear heals"
"Care, you know it's a struggle for me to walk in heels
"I know but Bonnie said she would send you a spell for it. Pleaseeeee"
"I'll think about it" I said before I left to the Salvatore house

Damon had explained to me that Katherine would be going to the dance pretending to be Elena so it was my job to style and mould her into Elena Gilbert. I thought I did a pretty good job but Damon deflated my happiness and told me that I made her look like a brown headed barbie. I gave Katherine pointers and tips on how to talk, walk and act like Elena. After all that I went to get myself ready and took of towards the school

Caroline: "what happened?!"
Tyler: "the gym's flooded. The dance in cancelled."
Caroline: "Excuse me?! Well what are we supposed to do now?!"
Me: "Go home" I say with a bored expression and Caroline looks at me angrily
Caroline shouted for a while until Tyler finally decided to move the homecoming to his house Caroline called Elena to tell her the news not knowing that it was Katherine that was going not Elena.

"How did he plan a better party than me so fast" Caroline said looking around in disbelief
"Who are all these people?" Bonnie asked
"This is weird. Where's Tyler" Caroline says
"I'm going to get something to drink c'mon Bonnie you look like you need a whole bottle" Davina says dragging Bonnie away
"I'm going to find Tyler" Caroline doesn't wait for a response before she walks away
"That's fine. Absolutely great just leave me here by myself with people I don't like or know" I say talking to myself and pushing away one of the drunk people that stumbled into me
"This is why I don't go out" I mumbled to myself
"Good evening everyone" I hear Klaus' voice boom on the mic while everyone claps and cheers
"I want to thank you for being here with me to celebrate. It's been a long time coming" Klaus says before getting of the stage
I walk around a bit trying to go somewhere private where I don't have to bump into anyone or converse with people who decided it was ok to speak to me. I groan in frustration after walking for about 5 minutes and barley getting anywhere less crowded
"Well hello" I hear Stefan say as he pulls me out of the crowd
"Thank you, I've been trying to get away from everyone" I say letting out a breath of relief
" I know, I watched you struggle for 5 minutes" Stefan says laughing before continuing
"I shouldn't be laughing it's mostly sad" Stefan says slightly chuckling
"I liked humanity Stefan more" I say crossing my arms
"Yeah well humanity Stefan was boring I'm a lot more fun" Stefan says slinging an arm around my shoulder
"No your annoying"
"You know what makes it funnier. The fact that I know you feel uncomfortable around people. It's like watching a fish getting placed out of water" Stefan continues to tease ignoring my previous comment
I push his arm of my shoulders and see klaus walking towards us as soon as I do I smirk and face Stefan
"Have fun" I say patting his chest with more force than necessary and walking away
I walked around a bit searching for Rebekah and trying her phone a few times, all of which went to voicemail. It's really unlike Rebekah not to text let alone show up, she was so happy about this dance I doubt she would've missed it. Maybe she's getting second thought about sabotaging it and she doesn't want to speak to me in case I convince her to help her brother. That or I'm overthinking and she's just running late

"Hello love" I heard klaus say from behind me
"Klaus" I said turning around
"What, no hug, no 'welcome home'" klaus said and I shrugged my shoulders. After a few seconds of silence I tried to walk away but he grabbed my arm
"What" I say
"You look absolutely breathtaking" Klaus says while his eyes roam my body all the way back up to my face
"I know. I think I've had enough people telling me that for past half an hour" I whispered in his ear and yanked my arm away
"Your still upset with me"
"I'm not upset klaus, I'm frustrated. You turned Stefan into a blood sucking dick"
"I only compelled him to turn off his emotions"
"Yeah I know. He's been very keen on showing the whole world that he doesn't care anymore. It's tiring and annoying and I've had to stay here, listening to people scold me about midnight phone calls with you and-and I can't find Rebekah" I angrily ranted
"Yes I've been trying to find her as well and seeing as you don't know I'll check you off the list of the people that could've taken her"
"Why was I even on the list i'm literally the only friend Rebekah has here why would I take her. And how!?"
"Well to be fair you are still siding with the Salvatores I don't exactly know where your loyalties lie"
"Look I only came to this stupid party cause Rebekah wanted to go, she was meant to be here cause I'm not meant to directly betray them I'm meant to help Rebekah do it. But she's not here! And she's not answering her phone and she's not with Matt." I say stepping closer
"Betray them how?"
"I'm not saying that until the exact last minute I'm still hoping Rebekah will come and I won't have to do it" I say shifting uncomfortably
"But just in case take the note and only read it right before 9:30" I say taking a note out of my bra as klaus looks at me with an amused smirk
"Don't look at me like that there are no pockets on this dress and I hate carrying purses. Oh! Um.. burn that after you read it I refuse to be caught playing for both teams. And don't tell anyone I helped you, if you do I'll erase your memory, I found a spell to do it and I tested it on Rebekah so...sh" I say in hushed tone before finally leaving
Katherine's POV
Pretending to be Elena has been quite easy I haven't really bumped into anyone I know and I've been with Matt most of the time. My body tenses when klaus walks right in front of me and starts a conversation
"Where's your date?" he asks
"Getting me a drink" I answer after taking a deep breath. I had to act like Elena act strong but still show that hint of fear. I had to be human
"Seems I have you to thank for Mikael's demise" klaus says. I knew exactly what he was doing, he was trying to catch me out but I had already gone through everything and anything I needed to say to klaus with Mari. I just wish she were here I've actually grown to like her, her attitude would probably take all the attention off of me.
"It actually wasn't me, Mari daggered Mikael" I say. If Mari was here she would've changed the subject already, out of everyone in mystic falls I think I would like to be near her the most she can talk for days on end which in this case I wouldn't mind Klaus is so infatuated with her that he would actually listen and then I wouldn't have to stand here talking to the man that murdered my family
"Oh yes that's right, I get confused sometimes" he says with a taunting grin before looking around. I also try to do the same looking for Mari trying to scream her name in my head, I know she can hear people's thoughts but I didn't know if she would be able to hear mine right now
"You seem nervous" klaus says when turning back to me
"I'm not nervous. I just don't like you" I say with a bit of sass I immediately bite my tongue knowing Elena would never be so bold as to say that but I inwardly thank God when I spot Mari coming towards us
"Well I'll get straight to the point then shall I" klaus says right as Mari reaches us
"Hey Elena, Klaus. What are we talking about" Mari says
"Just giving a little warning love" klaus says before he directs his attention back to me
"People have been after me for a thousand years. And I have always been one step ahead. So whatever it is your thinking of trying, go for it" Klaus continues and Mari reaches and squeezes my hand in comfort
"Give it your best shot. You won't succeed." Klaus finishes
"Well if that's your threat then consider me terrified" Mari said sarcastically before pulling me away with her
"Just so you know screaming my name in your head once is just as effective as screaming it 50,000 times" Mari says once we're away
"Sorry I really needed to get away from that" I say gesturing to the spot we were standing in before
"Yeah well you gave me a headache. But I'll let it slide since you look like your about to piss your pants" she says
"It's Klaus. The rest of you might be stupid enough to stand up to him but I'm not. I ruined his plans once and look where that got me" I say remembering my family's bodies laying bloodied
"I'm actually the only smart one here cause I'm the only one who is 100% sure he won't try to kill me. And even if he does I can simply knock him out and move to Canada" she says with a proud smile and I give her a weird look
"I come from a line of rich hunters, there are Martin houses literally everywhere" she says as we continue walking around the house. After a while we split up and I'm dragged off to Mikael to start executing the plan. I freeze in position when I see Mari laying limp on the floor
"What are you doing?!" I whisper yell to Mikael
"Klaus likes her, she's leverage" Mikael responds
"I'm enough leverage take her back" I say still continuing to pretend to be Elena
"Sit and stay. Do not ruin my plan" Mikael spits
"Hello Niklaus" Mikael says as he stand in front of the door
"Hello Mikael" I hear klaus say. I tune out to what their saying and try shaking Mari. 'Come on wake up' I think to myself hoping that something will happen. I continue shaking her hoping that the one person I actually like in this town doesn't end up dying she may be powerful but she still has a fragile body. I halt in my efforts as I'm yanked up by Mikael, I pretend to struggle in his grasp putting on a show for Klaus while I try to avoid Mari's limp body
"Come out and face me Niklaus or she dies" Mikael says
"Go ahead kill her" klaus says
"No klaus. He'll do it." I beg, partly to keep up my appearance but mostly so that Mikael won't resort to using Mari
"If she dies this lot will be the last of your abominations" Mikael says
"I don't need them. I just need to be rid of you." Klaus say. Oh if he knew what he just caused
"To what end, so you can live forever with nobody at your side. Or perhaps you think the girl you've taken a liking to will decide to stay with you" Mikael say with a smug smirk on his face. I watch as Klaus' face changes from confused to worried when a hybrid passes Mari over to Mikael. She's barley awake she blinks a couple of times trying to regain her balance
Adelaide's POV
After a while Me and Katherine split up. I walked around the house a bit making sure everything was ok until I felt a hand on the side of my head, before I could react my head was slammed into the wall and I was immediately blacked out.
I heard faint voices before I was pushed into the arms of an unknown person, my vision was blurry and everything sounded like it was so far away I struggled to gain balance or even take notice of my surroundings. I felt a small nudge at my foot and I followed the foot up all the way to the face of the owner. Katherine. She looked at me with a worried expression and I tried to focus on my current surroundings but everything was so blurry and muffled.
After a while my vision cleared up and I looked to see klaus with tears in his eyes, it was only then that I took notice of the arm that was keeping me upright. I looked to see Mikael behind me and it suddenly dawned on me what was going on. I started to panic and thrash around in Mikael's arms desperately trying to escape
"Come outside and face me, you little coward and I won't have to" Mikael says rather calmly
"My whole life, you've underestimated me. If you kill them, you lose your leverage. So go ahead. Go on kill them. Come on old man. Kill them. Kill them!" Klaus shouts. I stand there trying to figure out a way for me to get away without dying while Mikael stands behind me and Katherine chuckling
"Excuse me!" I say becoming even more panicked
"Your impulse Niklaus. It has and will forever be the one thing that keeps you from truly being great." Mikael says before he stabs Katherine in the back letting her fall to the ground then turning me around and stabbing me with the same dagger. I hear Klaus scream but I don't pay attention to what's going on. I look up and see Katherine throwing grenades at the hybrids while I try to lean against the wall. Katherine looks at me trying to step forward when I give her a nod allowing her to speed away. I use magic to give Mikael an aneurysm until Klaus flies out of the house and stakes Mikael in the heart. I sit there watching as Mikael's body catches on fire and listening to his screams. I stay seated breathing heavily against the wall but not daring to take out the dagger that's impaled in my stomach.
"What the hell did you just do?" I hear Damon ask
"He's earned his freedom" I hear Klaus say. I continue sitting there cursing at myself for not bringing my phone. Are they seriously just gonna leave me out here? I try to think of a way to contact Bonnie so she can get Caroline to come and help me. I would've let Katherine but I actually like her and I'd rather not watch as Klaus decides to finally end a 500 year old chase.
"Adelaide" Klaus says as his eyes fall on me
"Hey" I say weakly waving at him
"Look what you've gotten yourself into" He says as he bends down to my level
"Yeah I um...probably should've stayed home"I whisper not having much energy
"This is gonna hurt quite a bit sweetheart" Klaus says softly readying his hand on the dagger. I nod for him to remove it and he complies. I groan as he pulls the dagger out and he immediately bites his wrist and shoves it in my mouth. He turns me around so I'm leaning against him as he continues feeding me blood
"Now what would you have done if I weren't here" he whisperers removing his hand from my mouth
"I probably wouldn't have been stabbed in the fist place" I whisper matching the volume of his voice I turn around and tilt my head up to look at him and he smiles down at me and starts helping me up
"Such a beautiful dress, ruined" I say looking down at my bloodied dress
"I could get you a far better one" Klaus says holding out his hand for me
