And I wonder if I ever crossed your mind
Because for me it happens all the time

It's a quarter after one I'm all alone and I need you now

Jennie meets Lisa during college- that's what they both say when someone like their colleagues or nosy clients ask how they met. They met in college. That's it, no follow up.
Although the journey to what they have is nothing short of dramatic they don't usually divulged into telling even if they insist they forget it and not bring it up every Christmas dinner- right, Jisoo
But they did have to revisit the story when their 8 year old asked how her parents met, the two shared a look and Ella seemed to be sensing their hesitance so she brought in the big guns and did her best puppy dog eyes
"Pretty please? I need it for school"
And as usual Lisa was first to cave in, "...Fine, I'll bring out the photo albums in the attic"
"It started freshman year at college, there's this really amazing Asian restaurant" Jennie starts the story
--
"Jendukie!"
"Jisoo, I will sucker punch if you call me that again"
"Okay let's skip your grumpiness and treat me lunch, med school is so up my ass"
Jennie shoots the future doctor a look, "Treat you lunch? Your mother is part of the top 25 richest people in the world and your is a major shareholder of the hospital 2 kilometers from here"
"Point taken, there's this newly opened Asian resto wanna try it?"
Jennie didn't care for the new resto but college is driving her crazy she didn't mind the distraction every now and then, she and Jisoo are talking about all the stuff that's been driving them up the wall- Jennie with her studies and Jisoo with her parents
"And it sucks because the guy is older than me, how the hell did that happen?-" the older Korean is in the middle of ranting when they heard a click that made both of them look
Their vision lines up to see a blonde Asian- Jennie is guessing another Korean- taking their picture and Jisoo being the daughter of people that are constantly on the Forbes magazine, slinked in her seat
"Hey!" Jennie calls out and the blondie looked like she seen a ghost, Jennie expected her to run but no- the girl approached them and bowed, definitely Korean.
"Why are you taking pictures without permission?" Jennie hissed- she's about to lawyer the hell out of this kid but the girl apologized before she could
"I'm really sorry, I'm just taking pictures of stranger for this project in my photography class where we're supposed to capture the essence of people, I would've asked but it ruins the essence and guessing from the reaction you don't want your pics taken so...here you go" the girl rambled on and then hands them a polaroid pic
"Again, I'm really sorry. Enjoy your lunch" the girl says and then leaves
When she's definitely out of ear shot Jisoo does a low whistle, "I was pissed that my picture was taken but damn that girl is polite and hot as hell"
Jennie shakes her head in disapproval, "it's a good picture though" she says while examining the polaroid picture
"Yeah, shame she didn't stay long enough for me to give her my approval and ask for her name because you are obviously into her- at least we did get a cute ass pic out of it"
"Yeah- but a name would've been nicer"
--
Maybe a week later after that incident Jennie is strolling around the campus trying to memorize laws when she had the sudden urge for coffee and that's how she finds herself face to face with the same blonde from the Asian resto- who turns out to be a barista in the said café
"Hey stalker" she didn't mean for it to come out as a snark but somehow it did because the blonde didn't look amused at all
"Normally I would just accept it because what I did was out of line but given that I apologized and gave you the picture you're just being rude"
...not what she was expecting, "I'm sorry" this time it was her turn to apologize
"I was joking- I overstepped I thought we were close considering candid pictures and all" normally Jennie wouldn't apologize for any of that or explain herself or joke about it but something about this girl gets to her
"oh"
"Cappuccino" she orders and... Lisa according to her name tag stared at her for a good moment before preparing her coffee
"Name?"
"Jennie" she supplies and Lisa scribbles in the coffee cup a little too long just to write Jennie but she's not jumping into conclusions
although her conclusions is confirmed a minute later when she sees a number and a note written under her name,
"That will be 3.25 dollars"
She grabs her wallet to pay and sees the polaroid picture in one of the compartments and a brilliant idea just came to her mind, Jennie hands her a 5 dollar bill and the polaroid picture
"The change is the payment for the picture" she says with a smile
Lisa is quick on her feet, "Don't you have to keep the picture if you pay for it?"
"Take another one some other time then" she tips her cup coffee referring to the message and the number and then she leaves.
In the end Lisa passed the project with flying colors and she got a date with a law student- On their first date Jennie learns that Lisa is not a photography major or anything related to art, Lisa is actually a business student that took photography as a second major and in return Lisa learns that Jennie is great singer because she took her to a karaoke later that night- and Jennie also learns that Lisa is actually Thai but grew up Korea which explains the Korean habits that show i.e. bowing every time

And as much they want it to be smooth sailing it's not.
Because 3 months later Jennie is knee deep into school and Lisa is missing her girlfriend
The constant fights about time got the best of them and they stopped seeing each other before things even take off to the next level, the next time they meet is at a college party a mutual friend of theirs throw- the mutual friend is Jisoo Kim
Jisoo and Lisa became friends when the two started dating and remained friends when the two decided not to date anymore. The party is filled with drunk college students- not the crowd Jennie usually hangs out with so she steps out to her best friend's yard and sat on the patio
Moments later the door opens and Lisa steps out- both slightly drunk college students. What else could've happened.
--
Then they started dating again then they weren't dating again but then they are again and it goes on and on until eventually they snap.
Junior year- both slightly more mature than they were decided to split permanently although they remained friends this time and they convinced themselves its better like that- it was not.
But neither of them said anything and Jisoo Kim stood there thinking how could the most smartest people she know could be so dumb.
The dance goes on and on until they graduate- well when Lisa graduated. The Thai was quick to move back to Thailand and start her own business, a dance and photography studio- a business that wouldn't be possible without the help of Jisoo Kim and Jennie (who secretly pitched the idea to Jisoo because Lisa was to shy to ask)
However whatever awkward friendship Jennie and Lisa had evaporated into thin air when she found out about Jennie telling Jisoo to invest and even though Jisoo thinks it's petty that they fought over that she minded her own business and let her two friends do whatever they want
Even though Jennie did get a bouquet of hyacinths delivered on her door step along with a letter when she graduated and then when she passed the bar exams
After that it was radio silent between the two- no communications except for the yearly birthday and holiday greetings
One holiday greeting was particularly brutal to Jennie because the holiday card that arrived in her door step is the picture of Lisa with her family and woman that was later introduced as her girlfriend- this was a huge blow considering Jennie could never settle in a relationship after Lisa and Jisoo calls her out for it one time she visited to attend a charity gala for the hospital she now works on
During the gala Jennie posted a pic of her, Jisoo and another lawyer friend who visited New York as well and then a pic with just the the other lawyer- Chaeyoung
jennierubyjane we look better in person. I enjoyed the night hubby @roses_are_rosie
That picture gave a certain someone an idea that Jennie might be dating someone else, it was the until the other day that Jennie found out from Jisoo after her lunch with her parents that Lisa and the girl from the holiday card broke up due to amicable reasons to which Jisoo commented: "amicable my ass, that stupid monkey is still in love with even her girlfriend saw it"
Which Jennie ignored and later that night after Jisoo Kim's dinner with her parents when she and Lisa are talking over the phone that she cleared out that Jennie is in fact single and the girl is just a friend (not just a friend to Jisoo) and the older Korean might have twisted a few truths and suggested for Lisa to visit since she's staying there for a week or so (she leaves tomorrow with the first flight out)
So when Lisa arrives at JFK international airport and face to face with Jennie Kim after all those years all she can think of is kiss her but she didn't instead she asked her out for coffee and they spent the entire time of Lisa's time there together
More matured
More understanding
And in a much more better place with their lives.
A year later they were engaged
5 months after that they're married
6 months later they we're adopting baby and named her Ella
Now they live in a house located at Manhattan
"The end" Jennie says with a smile, lines from years of smiling because of the two people in front her is now more visible
She kissed her now asleep daughter on the head and wakes up her also sleeping wife, "let's go to sleep" she says softly
"How far did I get?" Lisa asks with a chuckle
"Up until I met you again on Black label café" Jennie answers and drags her wife to bed

Jennie
xxx-xxx-xx
I'd like to make more memories through polaroid- if you're okay with that.
on their bedside table is freshman Lisa Manoban's project about essence, it read: Memories through Polaroid
and inside it on the middle pages are two letters from when Jennie graduated and passed the bar exam and another letter on the last page- their wedding vows.
Jennie,
I have never been more sure I wanted to take someone out on a date since I met you at that restaurant, All these years I've been so immature that we couldn't make it work and maybe I still am but it's work I'm willing to do- all in exchanged is that you will be my forever muse
The last picture on the album is their wedding picture and it was watermarked by the studio, lesyeuxdenini
