"well if it isn't my favorite niece!"
"i'm your only niece, aunt shiori." the plum haired girl said as she watched her aunt stroll over to her with her hands in her pockets. the woman chuckled at the girl, placing a hand on her head. "all the reason to call you my favorite." she hummed. the woman's golden brown eyes wandered down to the moon rabbit digimon in the girl's arms, who's attention was focused on the red mass outside.
"lunamon, what's wrong?" the woman asked, watching the lunamon turn her head towards her. "oh, um." she started, her wandering back to the window. "i'm just worried." she murmured under her breath. her tamer hummed softly as she looked down at her. "about jeri and calumon?" she asked, watching her partner nod her head. amari let out a sigh as she gazed out the window with her. "me too..." she said. shiori looked down at her niece with a soft smile on her face.
"you really want to help her, don't you?"
"of course i do!" the plum haired girl blurted out as she looked up at her aunt. "i may have not talked to her in school or anything, but i consider her a friend." she said, looking down. "it sucks seeing her so upset..." she whispered. her aunt frowned at amari's words. she always knew that her niece was prone to having strong feelings when her friends were upset.
after all, all of the tenyas were very emotional.
"i'm sorry we have to hold you back from helping the others with finding jeri." the plum haired woman sighed. the younger tenya shook her head before looking up at her. "it's fine." she said, her eyes wandering down to her digimon. "lu, did you want me to come with you while my aunt scans you?" she asked as she tilted her head. the moon rabbit digimon looked at her tamer and nodded her head. "yes." she said meekly, earning a soft smile from amari.
-with amari, shiori, and lunamon-
the plum haired tamer watched as her aunt hooked her digimon up against a machine. "why exactly are you scanning lu, aunt shiori?" amari asked as her eyes wandered towards her aunt. shiori's bespectacled eyes scanned the screen of her computer as she opened her mouth.
"to get an idea of compositional differences of digimon and the d-reaper." she informed. "we need to figure out a way to target it and fast." she added. the plum haired girl nodded her head before looking over at the moon rabbit.
"you alright there, lu?"
"yeah." the white digimon said simply. "though, my ears do feel a bit weird."
"it'll be alright." amari's aunt reassured. "we're gonna be done real soon." she mused, earning a nod from lunamon.
'little one!' a familiar voice exclaimed, startling the plum haired tamer. the girl's brown eyes widened in shock as she felt time slow down. "s-saturmon.." she whispered as time came to a full stop. her eyes wandered up at the cloaked digimon in front of her. the tamer frowned, noticing the worn out expression on his face.
"what's wrong?" she asked the digimon. "why do you look lik-"
"the true enemy has caused nothing but utter chaos to not only illiad, but down below as well." saturmon explained. the dark skinned girl gasped in horror. "i knew i should've stayed and helped!" she exclaimed. the cloaked digimon shook his head at her outburst. "you are needed here, great one." he said. "your world is in much more danger."
"but the digital world-"
"your friend is hurt mentally, oracle." another voice interrupted. just before the tamer could say anything, junomon appeared next to her leader. "and it's bad." she said. amari furrowed her eyebrows at the colorful cloaked digimon. "what do you mean?" she asked in confusion. junomon looked over at her master, her green eyes looking at him with permission. "sire, may i?" she asked. the leader of the olympus xii looked over at the her, nodding his head. "you may." he said. junomon nodded her head before snapping her fingers.
before amari could ask any more questions, her body felt light. she had blinked a couple of times before looking down at her sleeping body slumped against the chair, causing her eyes to widened. "what did you do?" she asked as she looked back at the olympian. junomon looked down at the oracle's slumbering body.
"i've extracted your soul from your body." she explained as she looked over at amari's floating form. "you're gonna be in a deep slumber until your soul returns to your body." she added. the female tamer glanced down at her sleeping body with intrigue.
"will time be frozen until i return to my body?" she asked. saturmon shook his head at the oracle's question. "it will not." he stated. "time will resume when you two set your course towards the kernel." he explained. the plum haired girl hummed lowly as her eyes wandered up to the window.
'we're comin' jeri.' she thought as she took a deep breath and turned around. "alright junomon, take me to jeri." she said. the colorful cloaked digimon nodded her head as she grabbed the young girl's hand.
the two of them phased out of the building and set their journey to the center of the d-reaper.
-time skip-
"we're here." junomon stated as the both of them stopped in front of what looks to be a gated sphere. the oracle watched as the cloaked digimon pointed at it. "your friend and the catalyst are in there." she added. the plum haired girl hummed in intrigue as her eyes gazed upon it. "are you coming along with me?" she asked. junomon shook her head at her questioned.
"i cannot." she started, her green eyes looking down. "my orders were to escort you to the kernel." she explained. "i can only grant you this."
the digimon paused, snapping her fingers and creating a forcefield around the tamer. "this is the needle hive." she started. "this should protect you from getting deleted by the enemy." she explained. the plum haired girl looked over at junomon with a small smile on her face. "thank you junomon." she said softly, earning a smile in return.
"it was my pleasure, oracle." she stated as she turned her back away from her. "please...do your best here." she said as she disappeared before her. amari inhaled greatly before letting out a huge breath. her small hands patted her face hard as she looked down at the kernel. "you can do this, mari." the girl said to herself. "you can definitely do this." she muttered as she began to fly over to the kernel.
-inside the kernel-
the plum haired tamer gasped softly as she entered the sphere. her eyes widened as she saw no one other than jeri and calumon inside of it. "jeri!" she exclaimed as she flew over to her immediately. the female tamer faced the brunette that sat inside of the bubble, frowning at the solemn expression on her face. "jeri..." amari murmured softly as she sat down in front of her. "you've been through so much.." she whispered as she looked down. "i heard from rika that you lost your mother..."she stated as she looked up at the girl's face. "and your father ended up marrying someone else." she continued. "that must've tough having to adjust to having a new mother, huh?" she asked the girl, who only sat in front of her sadly. the dark skinned tamer smiled sadly.
"right, you can't hear me." she whispered, looking away from jeri. the oracle shook her head, looking up at the girl in front of her. "it may not be the exact same situation, but i completely understand how you feel." she sympathized. "remember, i'm a transfer student from taito." she explained. "before moving here, i got into an accident." she said. "my mother quit her job just to take care of me while i recovered." she stated, leaning forward. "when my leg felt better, my mom managed to get a new job here in shinjuku." she said. "so, i ended leaving my old friends back home and moved here to shinjuku." she explained. "it took me awhile to adapt to being here..." she murmured softly.
"hey, you d-reaper scum!" a familiar voice shouted, causing the plum haired tamer to look up. she gasped as she noticed beelzemon above them, intertwined with the wires of the d-reaper. "i don't know if you have ears or what, but listen up and listen good!" he shouted.
"beelzemon.." amari muttered quietly.
"you may have me hogged tight for now," the dark digimon started, struggling against the wires. "but i won't let you stop me!" he yelled out as he yanked his arms out of the wires that restrained them. he wrapped his hands around the large wire that restrained his body.
"c'mon jeri!" the little white digimon next to jeri exclaimed as he tugged on to her dress. "beelzemon is gonna break free soon and help get us out too!" he shouted. "c'mon beelzemon, you can do it!" he cheered, still tugging.
"beel-ze-mon?" the brunette questioned, earning a nod from amari.
"yes, beelzemon!" she exclaimed as she looked at the girl. "he's here to help you!" she beamed. "he's truly changed." she said. "you and i are might be different when it comes to forgiving people..." she started. "but i've forgiven beelzemon for what he has done to me back in the digital world." she said. "and he came here to come rescue you from all this." she added.
"what's goin' on?!" the dark digimon exclaimed, startling the plum haired tamer. amari looked up at beelzemon once more, watching him disappear. amari shook her head at his sudden disappearance. "no.." she murmured softly. "come back!" she shouted.
-outside the kernel-
"beelzemon!" the exalted digimon called out at he flew over towards the dark digimon. said digimon looked over at gallantmon. "about time you showed up!" he exclaimed. "jeri and calumon are trapped in whatever that thing is!" he exclaimed as he looked down at the kernel.
"i have an idea!" the knight digimon exclaimed. "let's attack that thing together!" he said, earning a nod from beelzemon. "you got it!" he exclaimed as his arm transformed into a blaster. "corona blaster!" he exclaimed as he aimed the blaster at the kernel. "shield of the just!" the exalted digimon next to him exclaimed as the shield began to glow.
both of their attacks hit the hub simultaneously, only for nothing to happen.
"aw man!" the takato side of the knight digimon exclaimed. "that didn't even make a dent!" he added.
-inside the kernel-
"are they attacking the kernel?" she questioned as she stood up. "i gotta help them!" she shouted. the girl sighed and looked back at the brunette with determined eyes. "we're gonna get you outta here, jeri." she stated. "please...stay strong for us a little while longer." she encouraged before exiting the kernel.
- back at hypnos headquarters-
the plum haired girl reached headquarters and flew right back into her body, which was slouched against the chair in front of her aunt's desk. amari opened her eyes quickly before looking around. "gotta find lu." she said as she stood up from the chair and ran in search for her digimon.
"lunamon!" the plum haired tamer exclaimed as she ran out of the office. "lunamon, where are you?" the girl shouted as she cupped her hands around her mouth.
"mari?" a familiar voice called out, causing the young tamer to stop in her tracks. she turned her head only to see her older brother with the white rabbit digimon in his arms walking towards her. "amari!" lunamon exclaimed as she hopped out of her brother's arms and leapt into her tamer's arms. the black haired teen looked down at his sister. "while you were sleeping, the others-"
"i know." amari blurted out, running off. "i'm gonna out there and try to help them.
-time skip-
a now digivolved dianamon flew in the sky on her way to the others. "i'm here!" the shimmering digimon exclaimed as she arrived to the scene. the fox digimon whipped her head around to the white digimon. "about time!" the rika side of the digimon shouted. "about time you woke up from your nap!" she scolded. "i'm sorry!" amari exclaimed as her eyes wandered up at the kernel above them. "i'm going up!" she shouted as she flew up. the machine digimon blinked and looked up at dianamon worriedly.
"are you crazy?!"
"i'll be fine!" the amari side of dianamon reassured. "i promise!" she exclaimed as she strayed further away from them.
the shimmering digimon's pink eyes widened as she watched beelzemon descend in her direction. dianamon flew up and caught the dark digimon. "beelzemon!" she exclaimed as the digimon groaned. "'bout time you made it." he muttered as he flew out of the white digimon's arms and flew back up to the kernel with dianamon following closely behind him.
"dianamon!" the shimmering digimon heard gallantmon call out. "i'm here to help." she said as her eyes wandered over to the kernel. they immediately widened as she watched beelzemon fight one on one with the kernel. the white digimon watched in horror as one of the beams struck the winged digimon, causing his to get blown back. "beelzemon!" both the exalted digimon exclaimed as they flew over to aid him. plates from the kernel surrounding the both of them, causing them to stop. "what now?!" gallantmon shouted. the moon digimon next to him frowned as she watched the plates turned towards them.
"i don't like this..." the amari side of the digimon whispered.
before anything could happen, the metallic plates zoomed towards them and attacked the two knight digimon. dianamon let out a shrill cry of pain as she was being attacked. "w-we..." she started, her pink eyes gazing down at the kernel. "we gotta do something about that thing!" she shouted. out of the corner of her eye, a familiar black blur flew past.
"beelzemon?" the amari side of the moon digimon muttered quietly.
"commencing data extraction." a familiar voice spoke, startling the reformed digimon. "y-you're using jeri's voice!" he shouted. "analysis complete." the kernel said. "the subject positively identified as beelzemon, a digimon who digivolved from impmon." the voice stated. "beelzemon, a digimon that tried to harm jeri kato and other human children when they were in the digital world." it continued. "beelzemon, the digimon that destroyed jeri kato's partner, leomon in order to load his data and become stronger." it added. "beelzemon, the digimon that destroyed leomon." it finished. as it reiterated the last two words of it's sentence, the digimon in front of it grew more angry.
"shut up...shut up!" the winged digimon roared, aiming his gun at the eye for the kernel. "stop using jeri's voice!" he shouted. "is that suppose to make me feel bad? well it's not working!" he added. "i don't care what you think!" he continued. "what i did was beyond forgiveness. i don't need anyone to tell me that." he spat. "no matter what i do, i can't change the past." he added, creating a star. "but what i can do is save jeri!" he exclaimed. "and let me tell you that no talkin' eyeball is gonna stop me!" he shouted.
"corona destroyer!" beelzemon finished as he unleashed his star shaped attack on to the kernel. "how does it feel to be on the other end of the whopping stick?!" he taunted. the tamer within the white digimon watched in awe as the attacked landed on the kernel.
'he really wants to do right..' she thought.
"how'd you like that?!" the black digimon shouted as the smoke from his attack began to lift. "not so chatty now, are ya?!" he huffed.
amari's eyes widened in shock as she had a premonition.
"beelzemon, move!" the amari side of dianamon cried out. "what?!" said digimon roared, noticing that the kernel wasn't destroyed. "i can't believe this!" he shouted in disbelief. quickly, the eye of the kernel shot a beam at the winged digimon, causing him to yell out of pure shock. "no!" he shouted as he watched the weapon attached to his arm disappear completely. he clutched his fist before looking up at the kernel.
"that was a gift from mako..." he muttered. "i'll make you sorry you ever came to this world!" he shouted. "i'll make you pay!" he shouted.

but i'll give a lil synopsis: amari is able to hear what's going on in the kernel after jeri snaps out of the depression and she calls out to her. when jeri realizes that beelzemon wants to saves her, amari jumps in and states that he really wants her forgiveness. when beelzemon attacks the outside of the kernel with leomon's signature move and opens a hole on the surface, amari begs jeri to reach out to beelzemon but she doesn't.
