"maybe i should've went with her..."
"and end up missing the flight back home?!" the oldest tenya exclaimed, looking over at his cousin. "yeah, no." he stated as he crossed his arms over his chest. "what happened in believing in rika?" yuzuru asked, raising an eyebrow at the plum haired girl. amari sighed at her cousins as she pressed her back against the interior of the ark.
"it's not like don't think she'll come back in time..." she started. "it's just that-"
"you're worried?" the blue haired boy asked, causing the space case to nod her head. "exactly just that." she responded, looking at the vast dark desert in front of them.
"you can look into the distant future, right mari?" the hatted tamer asked as he looked back at the dark skinned girl. "then you should know when rika's coming." he said. the youngest tenya sighed at his words before shaking her head at him. "keyword is distant." she said. "i can only look ten minutes into the future and it's well passed that." she explained. before anyone else could even speak, the ark jolted. amari's eyes widened as the flying structure began to move.
"it's moving!" she blurted out frantically, poking her head outside. "but what about ri-"
"i'll go after them!" the tan tamer exclaimed as he poked his head out of the ark to look up at his digimon. "cyberdramon!" he exclaimed, earning a growl from the dragon digimon. the plum haired girl watched as ryo crawled on top of the ark and on top of his digimon. the young girl frowned as they flew off.
"we'll be back before you know it!" he shouted from a distance.
"be careful!" the blue haired tamer shouted. kazu let out a loud groan. "rika's messin' up the program!" he exclaimed. "that's so like her!" he huffed. amari watched worriedly as the goggleheaded boy ran towards the flying vehicle, only for him to fall flat on his face. "takato!" his digimon cried out, earning a frown from henry. "how do we stop this thing?" he questioned as his digimon hopped on his leg. "we gotta find the brakes!" terriermon blurted out. lunamon glanced up at the rabbit digimon.
"i don't think there are any!" she cried out. guilmon frowned, looking at the back of the ark. "come on, stop!" he exclaimed. terriermon sighed at the red digimon's outburst. "or we could just yell at it." he muttered. "please, takato's not on yet!" he shouted, earning nothing back from the control panel. the bespectacled boy looked over at guilmon. "guilmon," he started, pointing at the control panel next to him. "you do realize you're talking to a boat?" he asked. the hatted boy next to him looked back. "takato, try and jump on!" he blurted out, earning a groan from the brown haired boy below them. takato looked up at them, determination plastered on his face. "ok!" he exclaimed as he got up and leapt into the air. henry was the first to extend a hand towards him, causing the brown haired boy to grab on to his hand.
alas, that moment only lasted for a mere second as the brown haired boy's hand left his friend's grasp.
"no!" amari cried out as she watched takato run towards the arc. "keep running!" the blue haired boy exclaimed, nodding his head. "you can do it!" he added. the red dragon digimon nudged henry aside. "takato!" he cried out as he watched his tamer down below. the brown haired boy stumbled a bit, causing his speed to slow down. "takato!" he screamed out once more, extending his hand towards his partner as he leaned forward. "careful guilmon!" the blue haired boy shouted. "you're gonna fall!" he added.
and just as he said that, the red digimon's body slipped out of the ark.
henry dove down and grabbed guilmon's torso. "not if i can help it!" the machine digimon shouted, grabbing on to henry. both terriermon and lopmon flew down, connecting their long ears together. "moumentai, we're coming!" he exclaimed. lastly, calumon descended down and grabbed on to lopmon's ear and reached down to takato. the young boy wrapped his hand around calumon's small hand, smiling in triumph.
"it's working!" he exclaimed happily as he felt his legs lift off of the ground. "good thing, my ears are cramping!" the white rabbit digimon admitted. the brown haired boy's red eyes widened as he focused on calumon, who struggled with holding on to his weight. "calumon!" he called out, slipping out of the tiny digimon's grasp. the little digimon immediately grabbed onto takato's middle finger, only for the both of the to fall down together.
"oh no!" amari screamed in shock. "ark, you have to stop!" the red digimon blurted out. "please, listen to me!" he cried out. "stop!"
and believe it or not, the ark had listened to guilmon's words.
"it.." the youngest tenya started.
"stopped?" the moon digimon questioned. the twins looked at each with confusion written on their faces.
"come on hurry!" the others shouted at the brown haired boy below, who had looked up at them in confusion. "hey, wait for us!" another voice shouted, startling the boy. "is that who i think it is?" takato questioned as he turned around. amidst the sandstorm were ryo and cyberdramon who were accompanied by none other than rika and renamon. the plum haired girl's eyes widened. "rika!" she shouted happily.
she was honestly relieved that the redhead had finally regrouped with the rest of the team.
"hey there, need a lift?" the red haired tamer smirked as she reached out towards the brown haired boy, who gladly took her hand and sat upon the yellow fox digimon. kyubimon was the first one who flew inside the ark, devolving to her rookie form. cyberdramon followed behind her, going into his champion form and tumbling against the kids.
"well miss tardy," the hatted boy started, glaring down at the red haired girl. "what do you have to say for yourself?" he scolded. rika sighed, her violet eyes looking down sadly. "sorry." she said, her eyes focused on the digimon in her arms. kazu scowled down at the purple imp in her arm. "...it's him." he groaned as his eyes wandered up to rika. "rika, are you out of your chicken fried mind?" he asked. "you went be to save impmon?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. amari frowned at kazu.
"i don't see a problem with that." she stated, earning a glare from the hatted boy. "are you serious, amari?" he asked. "do you not remember what he had did to you or were you spaced out as always?" he huffed. the plum haired girl shook her head as his words, her brown eyes looking down at the digimon in rika's arms. reaching over, she placed her hand on the top of his head.
sure the little menace had hurt her.
but it was her choice she get herself hurt.
kazu let out a loud sigh before putting his hands behind his head. "well, i said it before and i'll say it again." he started. "you two are crazier than catfish." he finished. the machine digimon behind him mimicked his movements. "crazier than catfish." guardromon reiterated, rolling the 'r'. the hatted boy looked up at him, furrowing his eyebrows. "hey, come up with your own line!" he scolded, leaning up against him. rustling had came from the green haired boy's pocket, causing kazu to lean closer to him. kenta blinked in confusion before looking down at the sudden movement that occurred in his pants pocket. "uh, guys?" he gulped, watching a digivice pop out.
"a digivice?" he pondered as it rested back in his pocket, revealing a small pink digimon next to it. "ahh i get it!" he exclaimed as he held both the digimon and the digivice in his hands. "you're my tam-" he paused, realizing what he was going to say. "i mean, i'm your tamer!" he said happily. "and you're a mega!" he acknowledged. "that means i'm a tamer to a mega!" he cheered.
"amazing!" the blue haired boy exclaimed with a smile on his face. "i wonder how he ended up in kenta's pocket." he wondered. the oldest tenya hummed as he leaned against the interior of their ride. "man, we missed out on a lot." he muttered, earning a nod from his brother. "it sure looks like it..." he said.
"i'm amazed he's still breathing!" the hatted tamer exclaimed incredulously. "have you seen the things kenta keeps in his pocket?" he asked as he reached over and poked at the little pink creature in kenta's hands. amari smiled softly before leaning her head against the blue haired boy's shoulder. henry blinked in confusion, looking down at the plum haired girl. "what's wrong?" he asked as he raised an eyebrow. the young girl shook her head at his question.
"tired." she murmured softly before letting out a yawn. "nothin to worry about." she reassured, looking up at the half chinese tamer. the boy chuckled at her softly. "hate to break it to you, mari," henry started. "but i'm not-"
"will you two knock it off?!" the red haired tamer shouted at both kenta and kazu, earning the other's attention. the green haired boy whipped his head in her direction, bespectacled eyes glaring daggers at her. "you can't boss me around!" he blurted out as a smirk formed on his lips. "i am a tamer!" he said triumphantly, poking his tongue at rika. the red haired tamer rolled her eyes at him before looking over at the brown haired girl next to her with a small, reassuring smile on her face.
"hang in there, kay?" she said as she placed a hand on the little puppet on jeri's hand. the tanned tamer cleared his throat. "so tell me something rika," he started, gaining the female tamer's attention. "what do i get for saving your life not once but twice?" he asked, looking over at rika with a smirk on her face. the girl rolled her eyes at him before landing a soft punch on his cheek. "how about twice the whooping?" she teased, earning a chuckle from amari.
"i would definitely pay to see that." she hummed. the brown haired boy across from her chuckled at her response. "you wish." he said. the three of the shared a laugh together as the ark continued to fly.
to their surprise, the aircraft sputtered loudly.
"why do i get the feeling that this isn't turbulence?" the green haired boy frowned. the blue haired boy poked his head up in an attempt to see the dashboard. "what's happening?" he asked. guilmon blinked in confusion as he looked. "um, it looks like the light track is disappearing." he stated, looking up at his tamer. "what does that mean, takato?" he asked. the brown haired boy frowned at his digimon before looking up.
"i think i means we're in trouble!" he exclaimed.
the plum haired girl frowned at the gogglehead's words. "don't tell me we're now stuck." she said. "we're hanging in the middle of nowhere!" takato blurted out. "what else could go wrong?" he muttered under his breath. the youngest tamer of the bunch turned around and looked at her older brother. "henwy, it feels like we'we falling!" she cried out. the digimon in suzie's arms freed herself from her tight grip. "i think the ark has lost all of it's strength." lopmon said.
"aw man, when things go wrong!" the hatted tamer shouted. "we'll never get outta here!" he added. kenta frowned, looking down solemnly. "and we we're so close." he muttered sadly. "with the track gone, the ark won't be able to find it's way back home." henry stated. amari sighed and looked down in defeat. 'we were almost there too...' she thought as she closed her eyes. 'we're never goin-'
"ark, can you hear me?" takato asked, interrupting the plum haired girl's thoughts. her eyes shot up at the gogglehead in shock.
"i know you can hear me..." the boy started as his red eyes looked down at the dashboard of the aircraft. "please, you gotta help us!" he pleaded. "you're out only chance of getting outta here!" he exclaimed. "just a little further and we'll be home.." he muttered. "our parents are depending on you." he added. "please, help us!" he exclaimed. the kids watched in awe at their ride sprouted out wires and connected them to the pda in takato's hands. the brown haired boy watched as the screen lit up with the word 'ok' flashing on it. the gogglehead smiled down at the arc. "thank you." he said, earning a nod from guilmon.
"see, i told you." he started. "it's a really good listener!" he blurted out.
the aircraft sputtered once more, finally moving once more.
the band of tamers screamed in shock at how fast the machine was going. the plum haired girl was the first one amongst the tamers to go into a state of panic. she scooted closer to her older cousins and held on to them tightly, causing them to wrap their arms around her protectively. lunamon and kotemon quickly huddled closer to the tenyas.
"everybody hold on to something!" the blue haired tamer warned. the bespectacled boy turned around, his eyes widening at the sudden opening at the back of the aircraft. "guys, the ark!" kenta shouted. "it's starting to disappear!" he added.
"hey ark!" the hatted boy exclaimed. "you get us out of this and i'll hand wash you every day of the week!" he compromised. "vacuum your insides, you name it!"
the aircraft tumbled around, causing the tamers and their digimon to scream even louder than before.
-in the real world-
the black haired boy stood next to his father patiently at the park. "where's mom?" the eldest tenya sibling asked, looking over at the older man. tamaki watched as his dad glanced down at his watch before looking at the large puddle of water.
"she told me that she's on t-"
"i'm here!" a feminine voice shouted, gaining their attention. the older brother turned around and watched as yuko tenya ran towards the both of them. she stopped in front of kei, bending down and pressing her hands against her knees in order to catch her breath. "t...they're not back yet?" she breathed, looking up at her husband. "no, not yet." he stated as he looked behind her. "shiori's behind?" he asked, earning a nod from the woman. "she waiting in her car." she said, standing up straight. "you know how she gets when it's cold." she smiled. kei chuckled at his wife's words, nodding in agreement.
"you're ri-"
before the father could even finish his statement, a bright light shone brightly in front of them. the older brother covered his eyes with his forearm in an attempt to shield them from the light. the plum haired man hissed at the intensity of the light.
then, the light had finally dimmed down and revealed the ark before everyone.
the tenyas along with the other parents amongst them gazed in awe at the aircraft. tamaki's brown eyes watched in shock as he saw his younger sister walk cautiously alongside their cousins. a large grin formed on his lips as he took a small step forward. "she's back..." he whispered as he walked towards her cautiously. yuko's eyes widened at her son.
"tamaki, ca-"
"amari, you're back!" the black haired teen shouted, breaking out into a full sprint towards his little sister. the plum haired girl blinked and looked up, tears immediately falling down her face. "t-tamaki.." she murmured as she jogged towards him. the teenager kneeled down and watched as his sister ran into his arms, embracing her. the little girl let out a loud wail as her arms wrapped around her brother's torso. the black haired teen chuckled at her as he rubbed small circles against her back.
"i'm right here, mari." he said calmly. "tama's here."
the twins behind amari smiled softly at their cousins reunion. despite not really saying a word, the both of them knew that their younger cousin missed her older brother.
tamaki is her biggest supporter, after all
the black haired boy looked up at his cousins with a smile on his face. "thank you guys." he mouthed. the older twin nodded his head and gave the teen a thumbs up.
they were home
everyone finally came home in one piece.
